Good morning team! Daily check-in. Woke up this morning convinced it was Friday. It's going to be a long day.

Hey everyone yesterday was a crazy day but I made sure I did everything I've challenged myself to do. I just got it done super early.

4/7- I did 3 walking videos and did 15,660 steps. I ate pretty good yesterday and managed to stay below my allotted calories. I was really beating myself up about eating 1/2 a tray of meaty marinara pasta from pizza hut. The good thing is because I ate healthy all day it fit perfectly into my calories. I'm aiming for a 2 lb weight loss hopefully I won't regret the pasta.

Wow! I am loving reading all of these! This is GREAT!

I am here to check in...but I didn't log all my food today...no dinner logged or the animal crackers I just ate. Whomp! Tomorrow's a new day!

@33gail33 , for exercise I lift free weights in my basement, too! I use Fitness Blender and LOVE it! I also walk a lot usually about 10-15k steps a day between work and the dog. (my fitbit isn't syncing lately-anyone else having that issue?)

Happy Thursday! No issues with my Fitbit, thank God. I live by my Fitbit, feel naked without it lol.

Happy Thursday Team! I didn’t walk yesterday so I’m about to run out now and double the time. My goal is 10,000 steps daily which used to be easy when I walked during my lunch break at work but since Covid, I stay at my desk and the bathroom. I barely move sad to say. I work in a hospital so I’m just a bit paranoid but gradually I’ll get back to it.

Have a wonderful evening on purpose!

Yeah my Fitbit hasn’t given me any exercise calories at all this week - and I haven’t been being lazy! Just finished a spin workout, after walking the dogs (started to rain so it was a short one) and nada for exercise calories. 😩

Happy Wednesday team! I'm a little late checking in, but got my workout done this morning! Yay - I defeated the lure of the bed this morning!

@33gail33 - nice stepping! I need to work on that, I run closer to only 5K steps a day. 12000 steps is amazing! My intentional exercise currently is running (not very fast, but still...) and I'm doing the beach body mbfa program right now which is strength/cardio combined. I've got a half marathon from March 2020 that is rescheduled for October of this year. I have never run more than 10 miles and that was truly horrible. I have no idea what possessed me to sign up for the half - but it does motivate me to keep up with a running schedule.

I used to run and I loved it but I have tricompartmental osteoarthritis in my knee and after a year of physio trying to keep me going it just wasn’t feasible to keep going sadly. I walk daily with a brace and finally found something that gives me the intensity of running (but without the joint pounding) when I got my spin bike. I was never very fast either - but I loved it and even liked the treadmill! I also didn’t do much distance though, only 5 k, a half marathon is amazing. Keep us posted.

Good morning - more engagement seems great! I will try to check in every day.
My goal is 8,000 steps on my fitbit, which is tough to hit when I work from home, but I managed 12,000 + twice already this week.
Did my 30 minute walk this morning, wasn't feeling the spin bike but managed 25 minutes of intervals.
We are renovating our basement right now so my weight lifting area isn't available atm - hoping to get that straightened out this weekend.
What intentional exercise does everyone do here?

I am getting more and more fit as I lose weight. It used to be a chore for me to walk a quarter mile and do 2,000 steps/day. Now I'm up to 1.5 mile walks and 6,000+ steps/day. Here's my daily routine:
    1. in the morning, walk a mile and a half in a nearby park (this takes about 40 minutes).
    2. every other day, drive a ways to enjoy a 54 minute 1600 yard swim in a heated Olympic pool.
    3. on alternate days, swim for 30 minutes or so in an unheated (currently ~65 degree) pool at my gym, right after doing a 30 minute resistance training circuit.
    4. in the evenings, do some light yoga and leg stretches and exercises.
    5. in a month or so, start riding my bike again, with the goal of riding 10 miles/day.
    6. future plans: begin practicing tai chi again this summer.

As a retired person with no family, I have plenty of time to spend on fitness, so 2+ hours a day of exercise is doable for me (and I need it!).

I wish I was a retired person! Four more years until I turn 60 and really don’t want to work past that. I am a morning person though so it is easy for me to get my workouts in before work. If I had to wait until after I would never do it.

For my check in today - I had a super bad day eating yesterday (too many cookies) and was scared to get on the scale this morning - but shockingly I was under 200 for the first time since last fall!! (199.4). Still have a ways to go but that was for sure a mental boost for me.
Just finished a hard spin workout and Fitbit says I burned only 100 calories - just a reminder that most of the weight loss will happen in the kitchen I guess. Today will be a good day.

Checking in. I never made it up to the yoga studio a second time this week cause I was feeling to dizzy to drive. Yesterday, while I was doing my yoga practice at home the doctor's office called and said they still haven't found what has been causing my chest pain and dizzies. So I'm pretty upset about that. I live an HR away from everything and just want to drive again at this point.
I have been logging all my foods. Even though I stressed ate a little more yesterday I still was under my calorie goal. Almost on a 90 day streak (for logging)!
I am going to make up the yoga I didn't finish yesterday today 😬

@shawtytel – Nice work getting everything done early on your busy day!

@kenyaa3 – I hear you about the fitbit. I enjoy walking and like the exercise, but feel so let down if I don’t have my fitbit to measure it! I hope you got your walks in!

@keepingtrack1234 – Nice loss! And thank you for keeping all of us on track!

@33gail33 – oof, sorry about the knee. I’m glad you found a substitute that you like without the wear and tear on your joints! I do actually love running, so I’m hoping I can continue for a while. It just makes me happy. And congrats on the loss – always a boost!

@frankwbrown – your workout plan is inspiring! It is making me look a little harder at how I can fit some more movement into my day too. Also – nice loss!

@cookierehab – I am so sorry that you don’t have any answers on your health. If the doctors could just diagnose then you would at least have a path forward. The not knowing and being trapped by not being able to drive has got to be really frustrating. Here’s hoping they get it figured out sooner than later! And – wow! – nice job on the almost 90 days of logging!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Today was a serious exercise burn. I killed it with 25,742 steps from walking and 3 workout videos. Drank 10 cups of water so far and all my meals were filling and delicious. Hopefully I can get through the rest of my day without looking at the goodies in the kitchen...lol. Tomorrow is my weigh in day. Crossing my fingers for something good. Either way it turns out, I had a good week with minor hiccups at night.

Thanks @Calli1616... starting my workout early today was actually not so bad seeing how I'm use to doing it so late in the day. Maybe this can be my new thing.

Checking In! I almost let being upset get them best of me but I pushed. Didn’t walk but I did do a workout video and I’m so glad I did. Got to sweat off my aggravation, lol. Still pissed but I haven’t indulged in sweets, alcohol and overeating which is my normal go too. Extremely proud of myself.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday.

Hit my 8000 steps yesterday, plus a spin workout. At 3,600 already today from my walk, and a full day of housework ahead should get me to my goal.
    Have a great weekend everyone!

This sounds so scary. Could it be hormonal? I have had problems on and off over the years with so many things and have found they were related to hormones. UGH. A couple books have helped me figure things out/make things better: The Hormone Cure by Sara Gottfried and The New Rules of Aging Well by Lippman. It sounds like you are actively working on stress reduction which is huge too. The world is so overwhelming right now.

Checking in: Today has been good so far. I just finished a nice hike and made it with no dizzies! I did all the yoga yesterday and am going to keep it going today. Also today is my 90th day logging my foods! Definitely the longest streak I've had. ☺️

@Keepingtrack1234 - Thank you! I'm going to check that out. I do have hypothyroidism so they are keeping tabs on it, but they said it shouldn't be causing chest pain. I guess that's more common with hyperthyroidism. Either way I have been trying to manage that on the side so that might help me.

Impressive! I'm looking forward to the day when I can finally break 10,000 steps/day!

    @CookieRehab
I have hypothyroidism as well. I take Levothyroxine and that seems to do the trick. Some years ago, I got anemia, and my doctor had me poked and prodded in all kinds of ways to find the cause, all to no avail. Eventually I just got better.
Take care of yourself. I hope you find the problem and get better soon.

    @Calli1616, @33gail33
I used to run years ago: 2 miles every morning, up on the UC Santa Cruz campus, with views of Monterey Bay and the redwoods and the smell of the salt air. I got high on the feeling, once my aerobic metabolism kicked in...
Now I have one bad knee and one artificial knee, so cycling and swimming are my alternatives. Although, as I lose weight, I'm finding it easier to walk a ways.
But how I wish I could still run! :D

    check in:
Stuck to my diet yesterday and so far today. Walked 1.67 miles in the park, did 20 minutes of strength training, and swam 1500 yards (for a total of 854 calories burned). :D
I weighed a little over 260 this morning. I will celebrate when I break 260 because that will be 70 pounds lost since last July (when I set a goal of 230 by July 10th of this year). I don't think I'll hit that goal, but I think I might get within 10 pounds of it.

Good luck to everyone on your own journey!

You are so active Frank! I’m trying to get there but I have to work towards that. I’m done after a 45 minute walk and an aerobic video, lol.
