@Tazaria87 It is great that your children will be able to attend summer camps and socialize with different children. Your walk to the bridge sounds lovely and the painted rocks must be interesting and colorful.
@Missysave0612 moving is a stressful time. It is good that you are looking for solutions to keep your diet on track while you prepare your new home.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 so glad that you are on the schedule.
@888Angie888 When was the last time that you had MFP adjust your calories as your weight has changed? I had to readjust mine after I went to 0.5 lb./wk loss rate because after almost a month I realized that I was maintaining. Congratulations on being one of the top steppers!
@TheresaM787 it is great that you have found an exercise that you enjoy and are so consistent in using it. I hear that Peloton has a wide variety of programs and many people enjoy them.
My therapist has asked me to work on positive self descriptions and self talk and to recognize when negative thoughts creep in. Are they actually my thoughts and feelings or something that was said to me. I find it extremely difficult so have focused more on letting myself feel, identifying the feeling, breathe, reframing the situation and asking how my best self would handle the situation. This doesn't just hold true for sadness, anger and loneliness but for extreme happiness too. Will keep practicing these steps until they feel natural.

Good day with calories, macros and exercise. I was really sore this morning from the new rower but I still put in a 2000m workout. It took me 13 minutes and was really hard. I thought it was because I was sore but then I later realized that my daughter had the damper on level 7 and the recommendation is set in the 3-5 range. So I’m sure that played a factor,5

@Bluetail6 - GREAT JOB🤩🤩🤩
@rlaskey2 - I looked up that recipe on skinny taste. Sounds good 🤤
@Beautyofdreams - I like that , “what would my best self do”
@rwood566 - interesting pet, enjoy 😊
@Megan_smartiepants1970 - I’m so glad that you are getting your surgery next week
@888Angie888 - nice insight on the exercise calories.
@missysave0612 - moving is definitely not conducive to healthy eating. Great plan to bring your grill and griddle

@Beautyofdreams rats are very intelligent. when these two are older we'll be working with them to keep them entertained. we have a rope for them to cross, balls to move around and i'm trying to figure out a maze i can make without tools. right now they are way to skittish. i'm starting to log when it happens. i'm just hoping i can get into cardio sometime. i have to get a new primary doctor and maybe he/she will be able to get me in.
@Bluetail6 excellent numbers.
@azkunk guess your daughter wanted you to feel like you were towing a water-skiing elephant. lol. great workout.
check-in for 4/22
steps - 9390. it was more since i went to the store without my watch. it's been acting weird all day.
calories - under 1800, i think. not completely sure about the chicken thigh at dinner. i had 2 small ones so i don't think it was 2 full servings of it. started to have a small ice cream cup for dessert but saw the calories when i started to log it before eating. 280 calories for a teeny tiny cup? pass. i switched to an orange.
exercise - got in a walk this morning, surprisingly. i shouldn't have went since i was feeling lightheaded even before i left. i felt ok while i was on it though, and i had my phone with me this time.2 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970 I'll post my steps tomorrow/later today. I need to go back through my Garmin Connect app.
@azkunk Thank you. It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Also, I giggled when I read that your daughter set the damper to seven!! Great job.
@rwood566 Thank you very much. I don't know anything about rats. I had a friend years ago who loved mice... Fascinated by your maze thought. Could you build one in a cardboard box using pieces of cardboard glued together? Kind of like one of those English gardens that look like a maze? Understand this idea is coming from someone (me) who has no sense of direction. I got lost in a small maze once. lol1 -
@Tazaria87
They grow up in the blink of an eye. Now I am watching my grandkids grow up just as fast.
@missysave0612
Moving is stressful so go easy on yourself. Sounds like you have a plan for next week. Another idea could be a crockpot. On days I have to go out it makes my life much easier.
@888Angie888
Experimenting with your exercise calories sounds like a good idea.
@rwood566
I can’t imagine having a rat as a pet. I am terrified of all things rodent even hamsters. I hear they make great pets. My oldest granddaughter wants one. Great switch up on the dessert. Depending on the weight of the orange you saved around 200 calories.
@Bluetail6
Amazing loss!
@azkunk
Sounds like you are enjoying the rower.0 -

While I didn’t work out yesterday I have met my 10 step goal for 8 days straight. Yesterday my friend took the kids for a few hours. I am now working on decorating the new spaces in the house and also spent some time looking for jobs. All 3 meals yesterday were skinnytaste on the meal plan. Dinner was fish tacos with a side of Cuban style black beans.4 -

I don’t know why I had such a big loss this week. My weekly average for calories is over slightly. The last 2 days I was extremely hunger and ate more than I planned both days. The last week I keep having to adjust my insulin as my blood sugars are out of range so I don’t know if this is why I have been so hungry. I have my diabetic check next week so I will be discussing this with my doctor. Yesterday, I got the appointment for my spinal mri. It is in May so the wait ended up being just over 3 months. I have to go out of town for it otherwise the wait would have been really long.
I am off for a walk. Two days of no coffee is killing me so I am going to pop in the grocery store while I am out and grab some. I am definitely going to need one tomorrow morning getting up extra early for groceries.

My husband surprised us yesterday by getting off work early and going with me to pick our son up from school. He's been working some late nights trying to get a project done so it was really nice. On the way home he wanted to surprise the kids by picking up ice cream from the local shop that just opened for the season.
I've been thinking a lot lately about how life will be when I get to maintenance. I'm less than 20 pounds from goal now. In the past year I've always put such a strict ban on things like that. In the past, having some ice cream with my family would have sent me into a spiral. I would have thought about having more and more until I caved and ate everything in sight for awhile. I would have viewed the ice cream as 'cheating' and had a 'well I've already messed up, might as well....' attitude. But I've slowly learned that, for me, it's ok for ice cream or other treats to be a part of my life now, every now and then.
Long story short, I decided to enjoy some ice cream with the rest of my family. I got myself a kiddie portion of vanilla with hot fudge on it. The portion sizes at the local shop are huge so the kiddie was plenty for me. When we got home, it felt nice and it felt normal to sit at the counter with my family and enjoy a treat we don't have very often. When it was gone, I felt satisfied. I picked up all the containers, washed out the leftover ice cream my kids didn't eat (instead of eating it, like it the past), and we went about our day no problem.
Since my husband had the afternoon and evening off, I used yesterday as my rest day to hang out with him instead of spending our time on the treadmill. Today is grocery shopping day so steps won't be a problem, and it's suppose to be nice this weekend so I'm hoping to get outside for some walks.5 -

I need your steps when you get a chance ...Thank you0 -
@Tazaria87 you have an excellent mindset now. it is saying it's ready for maintenance mode. you've got this. congrats on getting time to spend with hubby and enjoying a nice little snack.
@piqueahboo very nice work for having a tough week. hopefully your mind will start saying it doesn't need a "cheat" meal with all of the good choices out there. you're doing great. how are you going to celebrate getting to onederland?
@rlaskey2 congrats on the reno pretty much being done. i hope you enjoy the decorating and then plop down, take a big deep breath and then relax in your new space. good luck on the job hunt.
my wife and daughter decided to go to taco bell for lunch. i cringed just thinking about it since they wanted to get me something. i kept picturing 1000 calorie foods so i went to their website and found something with a calorie count i can live with. the macros are going to be bad but i'll deal with those the best i can. i'm tired of being left out when they go get food. for some reason this is sounding more and more like @Tazaria87's post. it's weird how we all can go thru the same things.
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND EVERYBODY4 -
@Bluetail6 congratulations on your weight loss. Your post on driver license weights got me thinking that I am way below the weight on my license and should change it.
@azkunk great workout! I hope that you have the damper adjusted next time. It made me think of Jack LaLayne and how he would swim towing the same number of boats as he was years old on his birthday. He was the first TV fitness personality in the US.
@rlaskey2 congratulations on consistently meeting your step goal and on cooking all those Skinny Taste meals. Wishing you success on your career search.
@Tazaria87 it is great that you are planning maintenance strategies. Having plans and visualizing the future are wonderful ideas.
@lindamtuck2018 hope your spinal mri can offer a diagnosis and relief from your nerve pain. I always found that so many of my previous doctors would blame everything on my diabetes instead of investigating. It was frustrating and am so glad to have the doctors that I have now.
@rwood566 sounds like your rats will never be bored. Congratulations on the weight loss and swapping out an orange for an ice cream cup. All those healthy choices add up. Glad that you are taking the appropriate precautions when you are out walking. I learned the hard way to always carry a cellphone after I got injured last June and had to walk a mile to get back home because no one knew to look for me.
@Piqueaboo you have successfully made it through a stressful week. Congratulations on your good choices and weight loss.
I raised the weight on my bench press today and was able to do 3 sets at the new weight before had to go back to the previous weight. Have exercised every day this week and feel like taking a walk this afternoon. For the first time in I don't know when, I finally felt happy. The over eating and shopping never brought this feeling on like this small bit of progress did.
Have a happy weekend!2 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Nice loss!
@Tazaria87
It is great you are thinking ahead to maintaining. It is so critical to change our thought process when it comes to food. I think it is the hardest part of weight loss. I am so impressed with your attitude with food. Sounds like you had a nice day with your family.
@rwood566
Awesome loss! You are doing so great when it comes to food choices. I am also a little mad with you as now I am craving Taco Bell. 😂
@Piqueaboo
Amazing loss! Great job on staying in control in spite of a hard week.
@Beautyofdreams
I was just saying to my daughter that I hope this gives me an answer. They are doing a really great job on all the testing. It is just frustrating waiting for each test. Great job on the new weight. Exercise can be a new outlet for you.

Thanks @Beautyofdreams ....I haven't walked in over 2 weeks .... Surgery is this coming Wednesday .... I am looking forward to getting back out there after I heal ...1 -

Nice loss!
Thank you so much Linda Looking forward to see what my weight loss will be after my hernia surgery ....I look like I swallowed a grapefruit when I tighten my tummy muscles0 -
@TheresaM787 You always seem to have great numbers. i love your consistancy, as well as your picture.
@Beautyofdreams nice job with the bench press. before we know it you'll be bending bars (even if they are granola bars that you only want to eat half of. LOL) slowly increasing over time is perfect. i'm very happy about your current mood. way to go. i hope it stabilizes for a while. i already learned the lesson about the cell phone the hard way myself. had to walk a mile home feeling light-headed. i probably looked like a drunk walking along the sidewalk.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 i'm glad your doctor's staff got you onto the list. i really hope the surgery is a success. How are your feet doing?
check-in for 4/23:
steps - 3117. walking thru the grocery store twice in one day will do that. my daughter really needs to get a job somewhere other than a grocery store. lol
calories - close, but under by my math. my sodium is higher than listed on my page because i couldn't find an entry for my pork loin with the proper number. it is about 130 higher than listed.
exercise - not really. i did 15 minutes of arm work with a dumbbell but i don't consider that exercise. just toning. i'll be doing a walk tomorrow.

I didn't forget to post my steps... I just can't find where I left off when we started this new round of vet visits! If you have the last date I posted them, let me know. If not, please don't worry about it. I'll just use my best guess and go from there. I just don't want you to go to any trouble. You do enough as it is. Also, congrats on the great loss this week!!😊😊
@lindamtuck2018
Thank you!! I'm now thinking more and more about maintenance.
@Beautyofdreams
Thank you. Now, if I could only change the photo on my Costco card...0
