Good evening all. I hope you all stayed warm today.
Check in for 10/12:
Steps - 13601. Needed them all to stay warm. I have lost all of my insulation.
Calories 1663.
Exercise - 5.7 mile walk in 1:45. It was at 8am and the temp was in the low 50s. Wore shorts and a tee. Brrr.
Good luck with your appointments, @Poobah1972 and @Beautyofdreams.
@shortyjmorgan1 with that soup, can it be vegetable juice? That is all I can find in low sodium.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 I hope you keep getting better.
Yes it can. The nice thing about the recipe is you can use vegetable juice or the tomato and it comes out almost the same. I used half vegetable and half tomato when I tired it2 -

Monday snuck out after work for a short trial walk and yesterday did insanity max 30. Eating needs to be worked out. I haven’t been hungry at meal time then I end up eating junk I shouldn’t.6 -
@Poobah1972
Hope your doctors appointment went well yesterday and your pain is getting better.
@littleflutterby
Fantastic loss!
@tahm42
Covid is a terrible virus. I am glad things continue to improve. Will they give you a lung function test soon? It’s been 10 months since I had Covid and I still have headaches and memory problems. I had my last appointment with the Covid doctor in August. I see the doctor for my memory in 2 weeks and I am still waiting on the neurologist appointment.
@Tazaria87
It is great you have your dad to lean on. Maybe you guys can do a daily check in with each other. Didn’t you for a while try a different dance video everyday? Can’t remember if it was you or some else.
@888Angie888
Another great day of meeting goals.
@luccianaff
I am getting an injection in my spine on Thursday which will hopefully give me some relief. You are killing it with your bingo card. The fruit one is going to be the hardest for me. Awesome NSV!
@Megan_smartiepants1970
Sorry you had such a rough day! Welll done on the bingo! That recipe sounds delicious.
@Beautyofdreams
I definitely understand stress eating. Hopefully, today you get a definitive answer on what is going to happen. I know you will adapt because if there is one thing I have learned about you is that you are the strongest person I know.
@shortyjmorgan1
Recipe looks good. Was it you that posted the recipe for autumn casserole? I have made it a few times. You must be getting close to a full card with bingo.
@Jpedno
Great job on tracking and eating well! Snow, such a dirty word. Good luck with the weight class.
@jayenguk
Awesome loss!
@rwood566
That’s a fantastic walk!
@Bluetail6
Wow! Look at those vigorous intensity minutes. You are amazing!
@rlaskey2
Great steps! I am terrible if I skip a meal for eating junk later in the evening. Great job exercising!

Tuesday check in
✅Steps 11k daily (steps and converted steps)
280/500 Zone minutes
❌Stay within calories
✅ Track food accurately
I am getting an injection in my back tomorrow. I was shocked I got the appointment so fast. I am both happy and extremely nervous at the same time. They use an X-ray for guidance when doing the injection but it is still near my spine. I can’t exercise the day of the injection and for 2 days after. Also, they are in the process of changing the rules here at the pool. I submitted my proof of vaccination this morning and I am waiting on getting a key for the pool. Hopefully, I will be able to get there today.
Food was bad yesterday. My anxiety has been high lately and of course I reach to food for comfort. Got to change that.
Happy Wednesday!

That was me! I started doing dance videos last winter cuz my daughter (age 2 at the time) didn't like the cold and I stopped walking outside with her. I was trying a new video every day, starting with the oldest, and saving the ones I liked! I stopped doing the videos though, when the weather got warm again.3 -

Yes ma'am. It is my favorite. The apples and the nutmeg give it just the right touch of fall.2 -

Question for Fitbit users
My Fitbit keeps losing my heart rate when I am doing my pool workouts. Anyone else have this trouble? I keep the band as tight as I can for my workouts. Any suggestions? Maybe it’s a sign to get the Apple Watch.1 -
@lindamtuck2018 I'm so happy you will be able to get your shot so soon! Hoping it helps you a bunch.
Completed more of the bingo!
Here is my recipe for my morning smoothie. 😁
A tip for increasing activity is every time you go to the bathroom do a few bodyweight exercises. Like squats, calf raises, arm circles, standing push ups, etc. If you even do 5 each time you will have a good amount by the end of the day. ☺️
We got out first snow of the season. It warmed up and its all melted already. So not ready for snow.
Today has been productive. Back to working out!
I did Legs day 8,
Stretching legs 12 min
Abs day 7 and 8
Chest and triceps 33 min 💪4 -

You are still in the green! Great job getting your water in. I add ice tea drops to mine. What flavour do you use?
@Jpedno
Sounds like a great exercise day! Vegetarian chili is something I want to try. My husband is a meat and potatoes type of guy so meatless meals are so hard to fit in my week.
@rwood566
Awesome gym session! I hope the dizziness goes away and stays away. It’s great you gave blood as it could save a life. You made me laugh about the calves.
@Bluetail6
Three lines! That is amazing! I really believe you can get a full card.
Linda yes I am glad to still be in the green! As for my water I use crush flavor packets for the most part. I will switch it up sometimes. I like the fact they only have about 5 calories a pack. That is only 20 calories for the whole gallon for me.2 -
Good evening Everyone,
I figured I should update everyone with what's going on. 😬
I went and saw a doctor last night at 6:40pm, what's with the younger lady doctor's and blue or purple hair? I guess it's some sort of fad? Not that I have anything at all against any colour hair... It's all good right? Right!
Doctor figures, my main problem is a muscle pull in my lower back, which is putting pressure on my sciatic nerve which is causing all the issues I'm having with the pains in either leg down through my calves and ankles. She prescribed me some muscle relaxer's and told me to take more at night and less during the day. They are 10mg Cyclobenzaprine HCL, I'm supposed to take 1, 3 times per day. So given her instructions, I take 2 at night, and 1 during the day. lol Close enough right?
I slept pretty good last night, but I did wake up quite few times and every time I did, I had a constant knawing pain in my right calve, that I could usually make go away by laying in a fetal position, and only in a fetal position am I okay. I woke up this morning in worse shape than yesterday though, had a hot bath, and laid in the fetal position some more. Went to work, and put the heated blanket on my lower back at near highest temperature setting for 2 hours. During which time the pain in my right leg finally went away, and I was just left with a constant knawing pain in my tailbone/lower back. Maybe it's good that pain is moving more towards my lower back then my legs? I don't know. At that point I decided to get the massive stone chip on my windshield fixed that I received from a passing truck on my way back from Ottawa. Then I went home by 10:30am and laid down. So, I really don't know how well those muscle relaxers work, but on top of the decent sleep i got last night, I pretty much slept from 10:30 am to 4:00pm with no trouble what so ever (as long as I was in a fetal position, which I was and switched from right side to left side every couple of hours or so).
So now for some good news... My brother has decided to work out with us. So, we are now a team of 3. 🥳🥳😆👍🤗
This is great, because he was my workout partner back in the day, and I molded him into a pretty fit guy... But for some reason, neither him or Lynn worked out this week if I wasn't... Cause apparently, I'm their official weight trainer. I don't mind wearing that hat so it's all good. lol 👍
Jason is also fully on keto with us now... He was eating the main meals already with us, but instead of junk food in between, it's all keto, and the same kind of keto snacks that we eat. (Which he was highly successful on in the past as well.).
Anywhoo... As for training, I was uncomfortable most of the time, but I don't think I hurt anything.. So, all good. Even better, all my strength has come back from last week's debacle. I'm about right where I was the week before I got sick, even hitting 8 reps on my bench press.
So how quickly can all three of us get through a workout? Turns out, it helps quicken the pace... There is always one person working out, one person spotting, and one person resting. When one person finishes his workout, we all rotate. This way everything keeps moving, and I do believe we got through the workout just as fast as a normal workout, yet I burned more calories and I had about 106 zone minutes, which is tons for chest and triceps day. (I forgot to start my Fitbit, so no heart rate monitors today.. DOH!)
I'm so proud of Lynn, and she feels pretty darn good about herself. Turns out all this working out has made Lynn quite strong, much to Jason's chagrin. Lynn can lift more weight and for more reps than Jason can on almost all exercises at this early stage. This probably won't last, cause Jason will improve quickly, but I'm just happy for Lynn. Way to go Beautiful! I'm also happy for Jason mind you, for deciding to join us.
So, I just dropped 2 of those muscle relaxers.... I'm really looking forward to the day, I can lay in any position other than the fetal position. I was hopeful that working out would loosen me up, but that doesn't seem to be the case as I stayed tight throughout the whole thing. So, I'll be without cardio for a while yet. But I look forward to the day I can get back at that. My resting Heart rate was 63 yesterday, so it sounds like my heart is getting bored? lol
Oh, the Doctor made a note in my file, thus I can investigate getting a physio therapist... if I need a note from a doctor for full coverage, it's noted on my file, and I can get one. Both Myself and Lynn have pretty could coverage for this as it is. Doctor didn't want to see me side lined to long, or I might lose the good habits I had made and make some bad ones. The last blue haired doctor I saw when I tore my shoulder, had recommended someone, so I think I'll give her a call tomorrow. 👍😎
So that's about it... I got dishes and 16 steaks to vacuum pack. I'm hopeful maybe I can get a whole day in at work tomorrow. My next pay check is going to suck.
Have a great day everyone.. (I'm just happy I got a full work out in today.. and a *kitten* load of sleep.) 😎🤗🤗🤗💗7 -
I got most of the Bingo Card filled. 🎉
What is an NSV though?
I'm also not great at - sharing What I Do, because it's nothing out of the ordinary. I just do what works for me. 😉
Share a Tip for Increasing Activity: I went Out of My Comfort Zone yesterday and joined a Yoga class for 1 hour. I was able to increase by adding something I don't normally do. I normally Walk for exercise, but this pushed me over and Boy, do I FEEL IT today. 🤭
Find a New Recipe to Try: This is going to sound Super Lame, but I made my own Cheesy Lasagna and I added "Wheat" Lasagna instead of White. This is huge for me because, before I couldn't care less what I shoved in my mouth. Now, I'm being Proactive (for the most part) in what I eat. Well.....it tasted good anyways. I had to make a regular pan for my hubby and son. Wimps! 😂
I also found a Recipe online for a Broccoli Salad that I really want to try. 😋🥦
Lastly, I give Encouragement to strangers mostly. I'm currently not employed, due to a work injury years ago, but I'm hopeful to get back in the game in the future. So I have a tendency to Listen to people a lot and Give them Encouragement, when they need it. 👌5 -

I believe it's short for "Non Scale Victory" - such as;- I've lost x inches / cm off my waist
- A friend commented on how I much healthier I look
- I can fit into my old favorite outfit again
- I can run/walk x miles/km without falling over or passing out
- ... etc.

@lindamtuck hope the injection relieves your pain.
Please excuse me from the weigh ins or place me on support for the present.
I went to Orthopedics where the amputation option was strongly recommended. If they go by my mri from September they will amputate. The big toe entirely. A partial amputation of the toe would give better balance so would rather that option. In the meantime I am in a plaster walking cast until the end of October when see infectious disease and orthopedics again.Am so angry with myself for comfort eating for the past 2 weeks. Not exercising has given me too much spare time to stress. Need to think more about the positives and stop putting life on pause.
On an unrelated note. Glad I wore an old pair of jeans today because had to have seam ripped out of the leg of the jeans to take them off and put sweats on. Anyone have tips to moving in a cast. It feels so heavy and out of balance.5 -

I hope this copy/paste comes out in a reasonable fashion. I have long been a fan of a protein shake or coffee in the morning. If I pack it with fiber, it keeps me full for quite sometime. The (BT6) is for my profile name. I input 95% of my own nutritional information. I have pretty much been doing this since I started seriously using MFP last Fall. I simply found too many errors or information that wasn't important to the macros/micros I track. Also, no MFP user can change the information I enter, as I don't share it with the Community. Anyway, I have gotten quit fast at entering the nutritional info. It just works for me.😉
I do add a few more non-caloric things like various mushroom powders, but I trimmed this recipe down.
So I put this in the Vitamix, even the cashews, and it is a large, hot, creamy, and delightful drink. I have many iterations, with fruit, you name it. This is the recipe I used this morning!😊

I am continuously cleaning out closets and donating. I remembered this leopard-print shirt. It was one of those with shoulder pads... I bought it sometime ago. I tried it on earlier... It was too big. It is going into the donation pile, lol. It is really cute. I hope someone will enjoy it.4 -

Good evening everyone. Happy hump day.
Check in for 10/13:
Steps - 5312.
Calories - 1413. Nice eating today. Light cal meals
Exercise- slow walk around the block going to the store to get gravy. 0.9 miles.
I bought another new item to cook. Delicata squash. I would love to roast it tomorrow with my meatloaf but the temp is to high, 425, compared to meatloaf, 350. Don't know if I can compromise at 400. Now that I'm thinner and eating well I can get away with trying new things.3 -
