https://starkist.com/recipes/tuna-salad-cups
I heard the idea from someone in an Accountability buddy thread I follow. I think people who follow a keto diet might have other ideas so that might be another MFP group worth checking for recipes. Thanks for all the work you do for the Fit2Fat and TrimStones groups!
Thank you @PatriceFitnessPal,
I've been looking for ways to increase my protein intake. Coincidentally, I just had some tuna today. I like to add some diced celery, bell pepper, carrot, and a little habanero pepper for a kick. I usually just have sandwiches, but sometimes I'll make tuna patties. But these tuna "muffins" look delicious and convenient, so I'm going to give them a try. I also enjoy adding some tuna (or canned chicken breast) to some white gravy and have it over drop biscuits.
I might also try that "muffin" recipe with chicken in place of tuna. I'm looking for more variety in ways to increase my protein intake.1 -
New week, new plans - how are y’all doing?
I had a fun weekend, I had my first night away from my baby as I went to my student organization’s annual white tie gala with a bunch of friends. We had a ”one last time” mentality going in, and there truly is a new generation coming in. We were seated in the table of honor, apparently for simply being few of the guests who had actually been to the gala before (covid took care of things last year so freshmen and sophomores are all newbies), and turns out the master of ceremonies was the son of someone one of us has known for years. I had a couple of glasses of wine and it was really an interesting experience, seeing how my body and taste buds react to alcohol after a pregnancy-long break. Yesterday was Father’s Day in my corner of the world, and it was the first of its kind for our family. Our daughter and I went out to get dad an extra nice breakfast, I got baby&dad some cute matching socks as a present, and we celebrated with a steak dinner and some cake.
This week my plans are pretty similar to last week: continue getting into a daily rhythm with our daughter. It’s also a special week as I’m turning 30 on Tuesday! I have plans to go for a birthday sushi lunch with a friend who’s also on maternity leave. Another friend is coming to visit and meet the baby on Wednesday and yet another on Saturday, and on Sunday a group of friends is coming over for a dinner of all the things I wasn’t allowed to eat during pregnancy. It’s going to be a fun week! There’s a lot of celebrating going on but I refuse to stress about calories, the amount of milk I produce is about 600-800 calories extra daily anyway.7 -

Having a heck of a time getting motivated! I had to sit down and make a new realistic plan for workouts. I am lost without a plan and can easily get derailed!! Planner is color coded and daily goals written down. I forget how much of a relief a good plan can provide. Have a great week everyone!10 -

Thanks - Good luck ladies and all the best for the holidays6 -
@socajam - Best wishes managing everything in the next couple of months. I’m sending a link to a MFP thread that might be useful in maintaining the progress you’ve made:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10787818/minimum-basic-and-preferred-habits#latest
I’ve heard it can be productive to take a break. The main idea of the discussion above is to focus on minimum-level habits that help us keep a healthy routine when life is overwhelmingly busy. I clear plan can prevent us from slipping too much during the break. We’ll look forward to your renewed energy and perspective when you return in the new year!4 -

Finally broke through the ups and downs of the first half of the month and will be donating my size 20 jeans and lots of other clothes that are now too big to wear. I'm officially and comfortably in my size 18's. Woohoo! After that "aha" moment, I went to the pool and swam a mile in 80 minutes for the first time ever. It was a really good week.10 -

I haven't been this weight since I started dating the hubby back in 1994! We got married Jan 6, 1995. He says he is so proud of me, and that soon I will be a lower weight than he is. He is 5'11" and hovers around 166-170 lbs perfect BMI. This is such strange territory I have entered into.
That being said, I will have pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving with whip cream! I mean, yeah I like turkey, that is a nice lean meat, I will have corn shmeg (it is a corn casserole with cheese and sausage yummy!) But that all fits into my general meals of what I eat daily anyway - the thing that I don't have is pie!! Chants: pumpkin pie!! pumpkin pie!! pumpkin pie!!
I will be going to the reptile expo tomorrow to walk some extra burn for the pie. That is in addition to the 3 mile daily walk, it should help. I will try to up my daily walk on Thanksgiving as well. Maybe I can attract some family members to go with me. But even if I didn't up my burn, I would be eating pie! It is just, I am very happy to be making such progress and am soo close to 100 lbs down that it is hard to contain my enthusiasm. 177 will be 100 lbs down, so all things being equal, that is December.
Cheers!!9 -

Surprised about that because of my stress eating. Family started arriving last night and with multiple dietary restrictions, it makes it very difficult to cook one thing that everyone can eat. I will sit down tonight and try to map out some meal options; meanwhile I hit the grocery and picked up loads of junk food, since most seem to be able to eat that!7 -

Been a hectic week but my eating has not been too bad. Pistachio's are my new snack love - I do shell them - so seeing a massive pile of shells stops me eating too many!
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Great job everyone, and especially @justanotherloser007 ! I love that you have a plan for that pecan pie, since life is definitely too short to live without good pie. Besides, if we aren’t going to give up that pie (or ice cream or wine or whatever) for good, we might as well come up with a plan to incorporate it in a healthy way.
Our baby girl is 1 month old today! I can’t believe it’s already been a month. I’ve skipped our daily stroller walk a couple of days after being screamed at all night, but otherwise I’ve been good. The chocolate ban has gone surprisingly easy as well. I’m looking forward to our next appointment at the maternity clinic, both baby and I are going to get weighed in again. I’m also really excited for this weekend: today, my oldest childhood friend is finally coming over to visit and meet the baby for the first time. Tomorrow my aunt is visiting and then a group of friends is coming over for a fish feast to enjoy all the uncooked fish delicacies I wasn’t allowed to eat during pregnancy. One of them is also bringing over a cheesecake for dessert, and it’s going to be yummy!5 -

No problems! I'll put you on the "Support Team" (aka Cheer Squad) so you can come in and post messages if you want to, even if you're not weighing in. I'll mark it that you'll return in January. Have a great break! My run of 33 weeks of losing at least 2 pounds per week has ended in me losing only 1.6 pounds this week. I know it was inevitable, but it is a sad day nonetheless.
It is not sad at all! Take a look at the % rather than the pounds, and you will see that you are still over 1% in one week. As you get smaller, each pound is a bigger part of you! Well done
@coblujay BluJeans!! Isn't that the best feeling? No more size 20s.
@justanotherloser007 You too! Hitting a personal best since 1994 - that pie should be eaten while wearing a tiara and having people waiting on you hand and foot. Just for a few minutes...
@hipari Happy baby, happy mom, happy fish eaters! Sounds like a lot of wins there. Making everyone smile.

I've been following a low carb/keto eating plan for the last 7 months or so with slow results (roughly 5 lbs per month) but results none the less. Had bloodwork done earlier this week for my doctor. Cholesterol came back 300 with my LDL ("Bad Cholesterol") hitting 211! Doctor wants me to follow the "Mediterranean" diet. Lots of fish, chicken (no skin), red meat once a week, eat more whole grains and beans (such as black beans & kidney beans) for fiber, no processed foods like bacon, sausage, lunchmeat and to put me on cholesterol medication. It is difficult for me to transition away from what I have been doing but I will do it for my health.
Anyone following that eating plan right now? Any pointers?3 -

I find this to be the most wonderful way to eat. I rarely eat any meat, plenty of fish, beans of all kinds, and TONS of vegetables. I am one of those people who can eat zero cholesterol and make enough to be in the borderline zone between normal and high. Keeping to this kind of diet has prevented me from going into high. I can eat HUGE portions because most of the plate is covered with vegetables. I eat very few grains - even whole ones, and that makes it easy to go for a volume that is very satisfying without lots of fat and calories. This is not low carb - just low grain, although most people enjoy some whole grains in the mix. In any case, it is a delicious and enjoyable way to eat. Give it a try!4 -
