Mighty quiet in here! I hope everyone is having a good time, a good rest, or that your to-do lists are shrinking.

    Enjoy the Solstice tomorrow!

So quiet! I know the holiday season is FUN but it can also be full of stress. Hope everyone is remembering to let a little thing go here or there and to focus on what's important.

I say it out loud because I needed to hear it....

Will post my exercise stats tomorrow because I'm still busy stepping!! Night all.

Sorry, been way too busy cooking to be online lol. We spent over 3x our normal amount at the butchers, which means we probably won't go again until mid-January, but that also meant a LOT of batch cooking.

    Since Saturday, I have made:
    Spicy Moroccan lamb soup
    Golden vegetable soup
Roasted sweet potato and carrot soup
    Lamb Rogan Josh
    Beef Rogan Josh
    Pork and sweet potato stew

I still have sausage rolls (minimal effort, admittedly) and spicy chicken pasta to make today! The freezers are pretty full but I think I'll get the last few containers in, just. :D

I'm just going through the motions at work now; I am so ready for a break. Whilst we will be off work, we have to prepare a large part of the house for plastering/decorating so I think we'll still be pretty busy, but hopefully we'll get plenty of downtime in as well.

I had a training session this morning where we re-visited my max wattage on the rower and assault bike; I beat my previous records on both. I went in with quite a few niggles, in part due to having a covid booster on Saturday leading me to protect my arm and aggravate my shoulders, but the workout and massage helped.

    I hope everybody is well!

That sounds like a lovely tradition @jugar, and I can imagine that 'reading the bread' is hilarious.

That 4 day cheat binge got me. And then we had pizza for dinner last night so my sodium intake is probably having me hang on to water weight. I don't know if this week will be too much better but I'm gonna try.

@KellyBgetsfit I was tired of wrapping gifts so I put my son's gifts inside Amazon boxes, taped them shut, and had him wrap some of his own lol

Down to the crunch! I hear everyone on the wrapping thing - in previous years when both kids were younger, there were always crazy wrapping conflicts, which we all enjoyed. My daughter got into impossible wrapping. Layers of duct tape, boxes within boxes, serious tools required for opening. My son does not believe in wrapping because it wastes material, time, and it just gets torn off and thrown out anyhow... He is a bit superior about the whole thing. Grump. I specialise in ridiculous gift tags with bad limericks, hints about the contents, snide comments about the person opening it, etc. My taller half goes for elegance and style, with occasional dashes of humour. But I love the idea of using anonymous boxes and getting the kids to wrap their own!

I will not be going down to visit my dad after all - the cases are exploding here, everything is closing down, and I don't want to take the chance of going there until I have my 3rd dose, and even then we'll see. So a quiet week it will be! I'm trying to think of menus as well, @PlaneMonkey - suddenly not going elsewhere means cooking here, doesn't it? Just me and the boys (son and OH) - and they are terrible for always saying "whatever you want to make". Silly people.

Today I'll get a great walk in delivering a solstice bread to my neighbour a couple of km down the road. I'll come home the long steep way through the woods and hang out with the deer for a bit. Have a good one, all! Hugs to those of you working, taking care of kids and other people. You rock!

@KellyBgetsfit It was good. I felt things in muscles that haven't been worked in a long time. There isn't a lot of Barre content on the Peloton app but I think I'll throw the occasional class in for something different!

Hi everyone. I went missing two days and could not get in to our community group. It took me 10 + minutes just now to find you all. I really want my ⭐️ back.

Anyway, I’ve been in the kitchen a lot recently. Taking a quiet moment after a stress relieving walk. My first in way too long. My daughter found out today she is a finalist for a job that would put in motion all kinds of stuff involved in a move. It’s exciting and I’m terrified. Tummy all fluppy-floppy. I know it will all work out for the best, I just love my home and thought this was my final move. But I love my granddaughter more and I will go wherever I need to to see and be with her.

Sounds like our Canadian neighbors are being smart about Covid. Here is the US we still have so many who think it’s no big deal.

    Family here. TTYL
