Lol @jugar re: the fingernail calories
We got a big dump of snow today so I spent a good amount of time shoveling. We have company coming to town tomorrow so I've been cleaning and obsessing like a mad woman! I am a mega perfectionist so this kind of thing makes me a little nutty. Good thing I have a very patient and understanding husband5 -

@jugar our neighbours have invited us for a traditional Québécois Christmas dinner so I no longer have to worry about what to eat although I purchased a prime rib roast, turkey, and a spiral cut glazed ham to eat on other nights over the holidays.
I'm an anglophone and didn't grow up in Québec so it will be my first time having ragoût de patte de cochons. Hubby is beyond excited. Just need to keep omicron at bay to enjoy it!6 -

Quick answer to your question about finding the chat thread @micki48 - the quickest and easiest way is to go to Community and you'll see this box on the right -
Go to My Groups and Fat2Fit should be there. Then go down to discussions and we are always there. Not quite as quick as the old favourites thing, but reliable.1 -
Great green weigh-ins right before Christmas @bonnie_red and @micki48

I’m pretty sure I’m down but I couldn’t figure out how to get in to the spreadsheet from my phone to see last week’s weight. I’m in Murphy, North Carolina, spending Christmas with my parents so this may be an up week (my mom is an amazing cook)!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and your families!5 -
Hey all! Merry Christmas and happy holidays! And congrats @ashleycarole86 on reaching the 180s, so awesome!

Merry Christmas eve to everyone 💕 It has been busy at our house this week! Lots of excitement with the kids. We have been getting steady amounts of snow and should get a lot over the weekend. We all got colds this week but I think today we all are doing a lot better. We visited a rock climbing gym last weekend and I kinda wonder if we caught our cold from there. We had a lot of fun climbing and I think we might start going weekly. I have been wrapping presents and baking treats. I don't bake often so I pull out all the stops for Christmas. I made chocolate chip, peanut butter blossoms, sugar cookies, caramels and divinity. I baked a bunch of gingerbread houses and we had a little house decorating party with my in-laws. Tonight we will be mixing up some magic reindeer food, watching Polar Express and ringing jingle bells for 🎅 Santa!4

Merry Christmas!
I'm in a scheduling role which goes 365 days a year so someone on my team is on call every day - today through the 27th are my days so I'm up to work a couple hours each morning.
My cousin and her boyfriend are staying with us so Brad will make pancakes before she heads over to my Mom's house (where her Mom is staying too!) Then Brad and I will open our presents and have our family time before we head over to my Mom's as well.
Last night we had ham with the homemade perogies and cabbage rolls that Brad and I made at my mom's house the last few weekends. It was tasty. My aunt did a ton of baking and I had drinks too - one of the few days of the year I didn't track. Will be similar today (only switching to turkey and other sides) and then I'll be back on plan tomorrow!
Have a fantastic day with your loved ones
Great weigh-in again @happimess01 - you are showing the month of December who is boss!

Lost a day after shopping on Thursday! Merry Christmas, everyone.
We have a 1/4” layer of ice all over the cars and roads - pretty! Em & M drove back to E’s place over, around, and through the slushy, icy, nastiness but made it safely, even if only using “all seasons” instead of “winter” tires. It can be done although I vastly prefer the feeling of safety with winters now that I’ve gotten older.
Time for a delish dinner that my OH has prepared. Can’t wait! Fingerling potatoes, kale, roast rolled beef (of some sort), and brussel sprouts. Yum.
Have a great weekend.3 -

Sounds fantastic! But I must say, I am glad to live in a place where it is mandatory to put on winter tires. Older has nothing to do with it! I'm glad your girls are OK. Your dinner sounds wonderful - we had boy dinner (filet mignon steaks on the charcoal grill) and girl dinner (turkey, which I almost never eat!) with tons of veggies. Getting it ready had all the usual hilarities... I hope everyone had a lovely day.
Go ahead over to this week's challenge to get poised for a new year and reassessing the goals, tools to use, and all the things. It is always interesting.
I just received a new book that I am sure to be sharing with all of you - Mark Schatzker's The End of Craving: Recovering the Lost Wisdom of Eating Well. I always love books about our love of food and how to make it work.
Last call!

@jugar - looking forward to your book review - good title.
Although I was definitely feeling the grinch/scrooge ahead of Christmas - we had a very nice time - tried to forget about Covid. Hopefully no fall out from our gathering. Mum starts #2 of her chemo on Tue - she did well on her first round side-effect-wise so hopefully that can continue.
I spotted a sign for Thai Wellness Spa the other day in our small downtown...looked it up and it looks very legit - not sketchy at all. In my book, Thai beats all other massage - stretches muscles that I didn't even know need stretching. Haven't had one since Thailand a looonggg time ago and I just hope it's as good as I remember. I'm sure I've got a lot of tension in and around my neck.
I still have the magazine from Jan 2020 when I started my big focus on tracking food and joining F2F - think I need to reread that and refocus.
Located my snowshoes the other day - hit or miss if we'll get enough this winter but I am ready!
Hope everyone had a nice day yesterday.
@PlaneMonkey hope you had a great Québécois dinner at your neighbors!5 -

@ashleycarole86 I didn't workout at all this past week as I wasn't well enough and my step count was quite pathetic. However I hope to get a couple of workouts in this week and move more.

21st Dec - 2078

25th Dec - 3944
Hope everyone had a great day yesterday!3 -
We are amazing! I just finished the tallies, and we hit the top of the charts for Week 3. Well done! Even though not everyone had a great week, as a team, we kept it together pretty danged well. Keep up the great work!5

Merry- day after- Christmas! We had a wonderful time celebrating with the family. I am exhausted but my brother and his family are coming over to watch the Bears/Seahawks game. They are visiting from Seattle and we are huge Bears fans since my husband is from Chicago. I did killer workout on Christmas Eve, which definitely helped with stress/anxiety, but I also pulled something in my booty. I have been stretching. Tomorrow, I will get my nutrition back on track.4

Morning all!
Well after two days of fairly poor eating, including yesterday where I didn't even try to track, I am glad to be getting back to my routines.
We still have a meal out at a friend's house today, but no excuses to eat anything above maintenance.
I would say I still have to work on how I handle the holidays when a large number of family members who are food pushers are around. Having said that, while the food was on offer, no one was giving me a hard time to eat more but myself.
Got a smart watch so I'll be figuring out how that goes and I'll be happy my steps are being counted all the time now vs just when I'm carrying my phone. It actually just alarmed telling me to take a break and move. Lots of little stuff to figure out.

Sorry. I started fine, but by the end of the week I succumbed to the snacks people brought to work. 😳😞
But does the day after Christmas really count? 🤪 😞4 -
Yes indeed - getting back to normal eating will be both a relief and a challenge. It felt good to just eat all the things for a few days, but it's back to mostly veggies for me! There is still some pumpkin custard left (kind of like the pie without the crust), but I think I can fit that in
This week is also Fat2Fit recruiting week! If you have any friends who might be interested in joining our team(s), now's the time. We can always use a few more to fight those statistics with us - keep going past the new year resolutions, keep losing weight, stop gaining it back afterwards.
