Oh, @ashleycarole86! Yes, right! Here it is:

    12/26: 56 minutes of step aerobics + 7910 steps

That was a high step day for me; I usually do not get many steps in.

Phew! Christmas was REALLY good to me! I knew those two slices of eggnog cheesecake were going to make this week tough! Lol!

You are the FIRST person on the team to hit green for all 4 weeks! You might not have lost much each week, but a loss is a loss. WTG!! The only other 2 contenders are the other 2 guys, our dynamic amazing 3 amigos, you rock! @gak71 and @happimess01 see if you hit the magic 4th week with a loss tomorrow! No pressure, eh?

Welcome to our motley crew! I'm also a military mom (Canadian army) and my daughter was home before Christmas for a week. Much baking and eating was done by all. There is no need to ask why - it feels good, it tastes good, and we're happy to have them around for a bit. Any way we can help you get back on track, we'll be there in your head and egging you on! Reporting steps and exercise is always fun, and diet quandaries are eagerly discussed. One thing you'll see often are references to the "perfect day". This is one of our fave tools to get back on track - pre-log or plan a day with the food just as it should be, at least 20 minutes of good exercise, and then follow the plan to the letter for that one day. It is a fantastic boost that makes going forward feel way more possible and to lose the stuck feeling. Apply as needed!

It was so good to see him since he might be going to Japan for three years soon. It’s also nice to know I’m not the only one to enjoy my military kid with food involved! Thank you for the encouragement. I did exactly what you suggested about a perfect day, and today was it! It feels like I got my mind right.

Aha! I love it when someone reads all the words and isn't afraid to ask when it doesn't make sense! On our spreadsheet, which you can visit any time to check out progress, spy on teammates, etc., the weights are recorded every week. If you lost any amount at all, the loss appears in green. If you gain, it's red. If you stay the same, it is black. So we aim to have as many people "in the green" every week as possible, even if it is nothing more than 0.1 pounds. You can see also on the spreadsheet all the way to the right that the number of weeks you stay green are recorded. Special mention always goes out to anyone who has a green number every week of the month.

Here is the link to the spreadsheet (it is always on the home page of F2F if you lose it) -
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u7FhtmC2XyalxAKc4-ruyRvV3LQOEU7UR7Mjv3jeAW0/edit?usp=sharing

When it opens, go to the tabs at the bottom, click on WaistAways and there we all are. Scroll around to get to the step/exercise team and all kinds of other stuff.

I do have to say it's always lovely when someone returns, isn't it? And I do look forward to when those that take some time do come back to our group.

Can't believe the new month is just around the corner! Will have to think about what I want to track on the habit tracker to start the year off right.

Steak and seafood for our New Year's tomorrow and very little likelihood we'll make it to midnight since we have to drive 11 hours on the 1st!

    PW - 175.2 lbs
    CW - 174.7 lbs

@jugar haha glad I didnt dissapoint. I would have been easily in the 172 lb range if I didn't have that Ben and Jerry's and Oreo episode two nights ago. I am back to maintenance calories for the next two weeks and then will start cutting again.

Alright! I am may not have gone down as much as I’d hoped, but at least I stayed in this “decade”! I like how someone else said they didn’t go up to the “round”. That’s like not saying “Hamlet” when on stage (or one has to run out to the street and twirl around 3 times or something).
Happy last day of December. We’ve had such weirdly warm weather compared to our northwestern Canadian friends & family. I’m jealous that my sister (@jugar) has enough snow to snowshoe. It’s crunchy and icy here in Vermont so I’m being cautious so I don’t have any “FOOSH”. “Fall On Out-Stretched Hand” accidents. I’m making steady improvement with rotator cuff strengthening and won’t take undue chances out there!
Today I’ll take some goodies to a friend and spend a few hours talking about what projects she wants to tackle in the new year when I start working every week for/with her. This will help me see my next steps at my own house. At least that’s the plan.
Not much on the docket to “celebrate” the new year’s arrival. OH has to be up at 4:30 to get to work tomorrow so we’ll all be in bed before midnight anyway.
Onwards! Have a safe time, y’all. See you on the January thread.

Happy Friday and last day of 2021 :flushed:

Great job on keeping the green @happimess01 - I had forgotten that Gary @gak71 is "on leave" for this week, so you and Brad @bowens1973 are keeping the flame for this month. Well done both of you! I have to admit, though - I am so glad you mentioned your Ben&Jerrys+Oreos party. I am enjoying it in my mind, which is at least a safe place for it :grimace:

I tipped a bit over the top of my maintenance range this morning -- even though I thought I had been really good the past couple of days, it went up. I'll blame it on the last vestiges of pumpkin pudding, and put the rest in the compost for the raccoons to enjoy!

@EvMakesChanges good for you staying under the dreaded zero! I thought it was Macbeth you are never supposed to say on stage... In any case, your twirling did the job at keeping the dreaded 80 away.

@veronica1359 Welcome! I love your determination. I think a green January is in everyone's hopes. That means everyone needs to make a plan - let's start looking at the daily habits that will help it happen.

Time to get this place cleaned up - put away the tree and ornaments, give the new vacuum cleaner some exercise, and reduce the piles of clutter that I have been gleefully making lately.

Hi everyone. I am Verônica and I am back again, now more motivated after more than two years at home only gain weight. With a little effort and dedication I am sure that we will be in the green every week; it is not easy, but we can do it.

Hi, Veronica! I'm new here. I had lost a good amount of weight and then gained 15 pounds over this past year. We can get back on that wagon! Also, I had put my goals in the tracker yesterday, and when I checked it today, I saw your yoga goal and added that to mine too. Thanks for the motivation! Yoga helps me so much, and I haven't done it in so long.

    Welcome back!

I was up enough that my scale app was like "are you sure this you?". Way to kick me when I'm down...

I'd like to move weigh in days to Saturday if that's okay?

Hopefully I can just restart and things will be better this year for consistency. It would be nice to be back in the 170s by my birthday in March!

    Starting weight for January 235.8

I have my new calorie and macros plugged into my diary. My husband has prepared himself for the change as long as we keep pretzel bites with beer cheese in the rotation a few nights a week. They are from the freezer section and it makes portion control much easier than making a big batch of fresh stuff. Our weather will warm up a bit soon so maybe we can walk the dog more. I definitely miss walking him. He walks really funny when the snow is super cold. I just can't see keeping booties on him.

Happy final day of 2021 all! Loving the energy of the new members, those returning to the regular team, and of course the rest of us. The new year always has so much promise!

    12/30 exercise:
7900 steps + 66 minutes indoor cycling + 10 minutes upper body strength

Work is done for the year, Brad started to put away Christmas, and tomorrow we hit the road to Manitoba to see my dad (11 hour drive). So, hopefully I can get a bit of activity in around that as I'll be feeling a little stir crazy otherwise.

Planning to eat at maintenance - 10% calories for the week I'm gone since things aren't under my normal routine. My dad was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and such so his eating habits have had a change that should fit nicely with ours. Not to mention the fact he's not a food pusher anyway.

Happy New Year to all and thanks for a great year together.. really looking forward to 2022!

No problem for the move to Saturday - I'll still use this weight that your scale app was so rude about for your starting weight - just think how good it will be after the first week or two! You've got that March birthday covered - get onto those little daily triumphs and they will add up. Show that scale app what for!

@ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 - have a good and safe trip! It is good (in a weird, kind of warped way) that your dad has to change his eating habits and can learn from you. Not only learn a better way of eating, but he'll see how happy and charged about it you are. He will be inspired!

Enjoy the last night of the year, everyone. I'm celebrating 32 years since the first time I set foot on this land here - it is a beautiful place, and even though we never make it to midnight, I love that the first time I came here was on New Year's Eve. The first question I asked as I walked through the door was "How do you ever leave?" - and now I know. You don't.

Happy new years eve everyone! @jugar, what a special night for you. That is a fun milestone and memory for you and your husband every year!

@ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 That is a long drive for you guys. Stay safe and enjoy your time together visiting your dad. Hopefully he is embracing his new lifestyle.

My mother in law and I went for a 25 minute snowshoeing trek today. Tried to take the dog but he sat down to try and hold his back feet off the ground. Ordered him some booties, fingers crossed he will wear them. Came across cougar tracks so I really prefer to have the dog with me.

We are staying in tonight and I am working on some shrimp gumbo right now 😋 Probably won't make it to midnight but that is okay. Ready for 2022! Thinking pretty seriously about working on a masters degree to get a pay scale bump. I haven't done school in sooo long it's a bit intimidating 😳

Welcome to the new joiners, and a happy new year to every one.

I'm with you @micki48 on being ready to eat healthily again even though I've enjoyed not caring for a bit. I don't feel rough, but I know I can feel better if I'm eating less of the sugary stuff. Perhaps I should've done this sooner, and it hasn't just been the holiday week that's done it, but I'm back to a weight I had in March. It is what it is, and the only reason I looked back was to see what my calorie goal was at the time; 1723, but I'm going to leave it at 1650. Today is a perfect day.

Our weekend is a bit mad, as the plasterers are starting on Monday (or Tuesday.. I did tell them Monday was a bank holiday so not sure they'll turn up!) and we still need to move some furniture and strip wallpaper. I've done probably 1/4 of the hallway and it's quite satisfying as the paper peels off in big pieces once it's wet! January is going to be quite disruptive with no living/dining room for most of the month; I will make sure we can bring the dining table out in between jobs so that doesn't become an excuse to get fast food.

A lot of our food for January is already prepared; we have over 40 portions of prepared food, between lunches and evening meals in the freezer. It won't do the whole month, but a big chunk of it! Any new covid-related restrictions will play a part too, but we're leaning towards a low spend month and I find that low-spend and calorie-control go hand in hand for me which will hopefully make for a good start to the year weightloss wise. I may try to be a bit more aggressive than I was in 2021 because I'd really like to hit my goal weight this year.

    Welcome Wendy @twdempsey !

It is fun to have another fellow retiree here - there are a couple of us, and the challenges are different than for our wild-scheduled working members. In the January chat thread (link just above) tell us a bit more about yourself - it is always fun to know where people are (if you are comfortable sharing that) and how your weight and fitness story started and is going. Ready to roll? It is going to be an exciting month.
