@PlaneMonkey I hope you get your results soon so you know what your dealing with. Feel better soon!
@Waifer003 That is such a bummer. Hope your son bounces back quickly and the rest of your family stays healthy. The pandemic is getting so old.
@DD265 Have you ever tried cauliflower rice? I'm a big rice fan and find that certain dishes I can swap in cauliflower rice easily. Other dishes only the real stuff will do, while others a blend of half rice and half cauliflower rice do the trick. I also find that intense exercise really stimulates my appetite as well. It's super annoying 🙄4 -

@ashleycarole86, I would like to join the steps challenge. I will start entering this Sunday.6 -
@MoStacy Sounds great, happy to have you on board and great loss this week!
For those unwell or with family members unwell... just want to send best wishes to you all... lots of that going on for people right now so fingers crossed for no COVID and for those that have it, hope it's a quick and easy recovery.
The ride home was uneventful (which is good!) Our SUV actually didn't start this morning before we left.. we hadn't plugged it in but it was slightly warmer at Dad's (lows of -20C versus -30C at home) so I thought we were fine but apparently not. With a quick boost, we were on our way.
After arriving home, unpacking, and pizza dinner.. it was time to reunite with the Peloton! In fact, I scooped it up before Brad I had a long session - 91 minutes total ride time, and I felt so alive. I've had a few moments this past week where I've felt like an athlete in the best way possible. What a great feeling.
Ok, bed time.. tired with the time change coming back home. See you in the morning for weigh-in!5 -

going to ease back a bit and not aim for my default 1200/day. I must expend more than one would think with an office job. My inner-jugar is definitely not parked on a couch....and with possibly half a foot of snow coming tomorrow, I'll keep the snowshoes handy. Now, I have a lot of posts to catch up on...at a first scan, the word Covid jumped out at me a few times6 -
@conleywoods I haven't tried cauliflower rice, but I should probably give it a go. I did used to have konjac noodles but they weren't great with most things.
I woke up hungry again, but then was too busy to eat anything until 10.30, so that was a fun morning. I was very tired as well so planning an earlier night. Plasterers are still busy and should be done for the weekend all being well. I'm looking forward to getting the dining table back out as eating either in the kitchen or at my desk isn't ideal.
The temperature has dropped here so I'm glad we ran last night! I'm going to push OH to walk this evening but I think I may be met with resistance as he's doing his physical safety training at work and is battered and bruised already. A walk will do him good I'm sure6 -
Good Morning. Today, I am going back to work. I actually have virtual trainings so I won't be getting any steps. I got up early enough to do my strength workout and hop on the elliptical. I have hit my steps all week and I don't want to break that cycle.
@planemonkey I must have missed your post. I hope you are doing ok and if it is Covid, it is mild.
@waifer003 I am so sorry about your son. I hope it is mild and everyone else stays healthy. At this point, I feel like it is everywhere. I know people with their booster who are still getting it.
@ashleycarole you and your Pelton are a beast! 90 min, girl you are definitely an athlete now!!!
@dd265 if you are waking up hungry, have you looked at how much protein you are getting? It could help to up your protein a bit.6 -

Sorry I'm late, this week has gotten away from me and it's my 3rd consecutive week with a gain. The holidays really messed me up this year. I need to get back on track and stay there. I had about 4 planned cheat days in December and they all turned into multi day streaks.
I also haven't introduced myself yet, so here it is. I'm Mandi, 35, living in the Chicago suburbs with my son who will be 12 tomorrow. I do workforce planning/HR admin for a large retailer. It's a desk job that I started this past may after working on the sales floor fory whole life. I was never thin but I gained a lotmof.weoght when my son was.young trying to navigate a retail schedule as a single.mom to a small child. Fast food and prepared/processed meals always felt easier. I lost and regained the same 40 or so lbs over and over for years. Finally in 2020 I stuck to it and lost about 60lbs. In Feb of 2021 I started dating my boyfriend which means lots of going out and then I'm May I started my desk job and I just struggled to keep my healthy habits and my exercise habits and gained some weight back. After December, my only goal for January is to have a net loss. Once I get my eating back on track I'll reintegrate exercise goals.8 -

It's certainly better for me to eat smaller portions than my OH (who's a foot taller than I) and to get more walking in than I'm inclined to do.
Hi, @EvMakesChanges! Finding that "middle of the road" mentality has been a particular struggle for me. I have an "extreme" personality, which I have been tempering since I become a mother 9 years ago; I discover that extreme approaches to situations are just not sustainable or authentic, especially as I age. But the "middle" is hard to find sometimes.

Flying high during step aerbics yesterday; picture is blurry due to the high energy output!

1/5 exercise:
6555 + 10 minutes of bodyweight exercises
I find it super hard to get my steps (or the recommended 10,000) without actual exercise. But I know that rest days are beneficial. So I'm still trying to figure out that balance5 -

Let's pretend THIS never happened. Back on the horse this week. 😑7 -
@KellyBgetsfit increasing my protein intake might be a good shout - I'm averaging somewhere around 15-17% I think so it could be a bit higher. I'd quite happily swap a pack of crisps for chicken or nuts5

I feel so lost on here! I haven't read many of the posts, and I'm just feeling so out of it. I've had no energy at all. I started feeling sick on the 3rd, and on the 4th, I figured it was a sinus infection. I just got my covid results, and I am positive. It's kicking my butt! At least I don't have to have the guilt for the downturn in my steps. That was really bothering me. I hope everyone is doing well! I'm going back to sleep, and I'll have to catch up on here when it doesn't feel like my head is going to explode. Ugh!9

Proud of you for facing it. I know you were not wanting to get on the scale. So much of this isn't real gain and it'll be off in no time.
Knowledge is power!4 -
@lonestarbabe Oh man - sorry to hear COVID got you... take it easy, and never feel bad when you fall behind on posts... this group can get quite active and at times be very quiet, but we are here for you in whatever way you need.
@kellie_erin Agree - especially when the weather is so cold and I have a sedentary desk job... I love to do other forms of exercise too so to add 10,000 steps on top of that can feel challenging. I have started walking while I watch TV to help.
Having a fairly quiet day, just getting back into the swing of things and doing some stuff around the house. Gotta love a work week with only one day of work4 -
@metaphysicalstudio Love that photo! You are on the bounce for sure. Looks like fun!
@bowens1973 Yep, back on that horse (isn't his name Peloton?), but I sure hope you enjoyed having a splurge for a bit. Now catch up to @ashleycarole86 and start getting ready for those fearsome mountains. And Ash - you rock. Going to visit family, tons of driving, and you lost 3.6 pounds! Spill the secrets to that formula, ok?
@MandiSaysHey I love your simple goal - a net loss for January. Getting the food side of things back on track is, as you say, the priority. Go for that one perfect day, and it'll get going for sure.
I had a rather imperfect food day both yesterday and today - exercise OK, but mid-day loss of control Yesterday after 2 hours at the dentist (ugh) I was really hungry and ate most of a fougasse. Yep - bread! It was delicious, but kinda wrecked my day. Today it was a nut and dried fruit mix. A little small bit of it after a lovely healthy salad for lunch turned into finishing the whole batch. I'm really anxious about my daughter - seeing the doc this morning for a rather perplexing and potentially serious problem. So I'll let it go, and have rapini with fish for supper. She's calling shortly!6
