It is so good. I'm doing LC carnitas with leftovers for lunch.

Exactly. It has to. Part of me is still mad, but the other part knows that if I'm doing the right things, the scale has no alternative than to cooperate eventually.

Scale went down a lil'. Not all of it yet. It is dumb... That's fine. I'm doing the right things. Onward and downward. KCKO.

Scale has ticked up a bit again. My gut tells me it is the Buffalo sauce I had on chicken last night and the small amount of bacon on my salad, plus soreness in muscles from increased weight and shoveling snow the day before. BUT my head wants to revolt rather than keep calm that this too shall pass. Stupid stupid scale! I would ordinarily think about an NSV but I can’t pinpoint anything that makes me get over it already, so I’ll just keep repeating that mantra. Looks like everyone else is seeing some success so I’ll live vicariously through the group for now!

Aaanndd I'm back down again. I'm about to be sick! Can I get off this ride? Well, at least it's a low number today. I made a ham & cheese omelet yesterday for dinner, using 4 egg whites. I'm trying to cut down on cholesterol now. It was not filling at all. I was still hungry and made myself go to bed still hungry. I was good on my calorie count, a little high on carbs & protein, low on fat & cholesterol for the day and I ended the day miserable. I really need to find a happy medium fast, or I'm going to fall off the wagon and fall hard! I never fell asleep hungry before, but my cholesterol count was always high. I hope I find the solution.

try to find some of the "ok" fats to add to those eggs and other foods? I dunno. My cholesterol behaved. Sorry I can't be of more help. :disappointed:

@baconslave Hope you see changes in your measurements! But I totally get where you are coming from! It's so dang hard!

I added 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp almond oil to the eggs, as well as green & red peppers, onions and salsa. It just wasn't as satisfying as it is when I used whole eggs. I get satisfied with 3 whole eggs with my omelet. This just wasn't as tasty and satiating as before. I did well on my keto diet because I ate what I liked, and I like eggs! LOL...I really don't want to go on the statin that the doctor prescribed me. Especially when I read things like keto dieters can have higher than normal LDL cholesterol levels but the size of the particles are what is bad. Unfortunately, my doctor didn't test for size, just levels.

Taking a bit of break on food to work through my potential allergy issues. Scale continues to be a jerk so I’ll focus on upping my protein to stay satisfied and just watch the volume I am eating. Otherwise, just another gray couple of days in OH.

Weight as of Jan 13: 152.8
Weight today Jan 21: 149 (down 3.8 - happy dance!)
    GW 132-135

    Getting there....
I'm just saying no, and refocusing, when my reptile brain says "how 'bout a lil snack" at 11pm.
A month unemployed, but I went thru the first assessment for a Canada Post job (GREAT pay, benefits, good hours) so I'm hoping to hear more...and in the meantime I am back working on call with the security company I used to work for 15 months ago.
    Drinking my water :)
not logging food though - UGH! I loathe logging after a few years of doing it regularly.

Slight decrease. Good, good. Getting there! Today though, I plan on having a feast to watch the game. Chicken wings with ranch, ribs with bbq sauce and a slice of pizza. So light breakfast, light lunch, no snacks. Lots of water. Should be a blast!! If we win, get to do it again next week! LOL!

I had a couple of good days and the scale is slowly creeping down but not back to where I was a week or so ago. I’m trying to stay hydrated but haven’t had as much water as I should. I’ve done well with eating when hungry the last two days but a trend, this is not. I’ll keep at it.

Well another LC Saturday in the books. I for sure am still eating a bit too much after adult beverages so I need next week to plan a munchy snacking and pre-portion it before I have the drinks.

But again I consider yesterday a win b/c I stayed LC. Getting this habit solid. Today shall be perfectly on track.

Sorry I haven't been around or posted in awhile ... between foot pain and headaches I haven't done much ...my GP Dr isn't a fan of keto and told me he doesn't want me on it but didn't give me a great explanation ... I usually listen to him but this is one area that I will not be.... I will be re-starting my keto journey in February... I would like to see what I can do in 6 months on strict keto ..the re-evaluate and possibly go low carb

    Hi! I'm Mary from Pennsylvania.
Back again! Will post weight on Sundays. Sticking with what has been working for me since 5/14/21. 1000-1200 calories/day,
Net Carbs15 +/- 3 grams(some days actually less), 70+ oz water/day, only 2 meals/day on non work days (I work 4 days/week) and exercise on my non work days (as I work long days).
    UGW-122 lbs

Oct goal was 10 lbs Almost made it!, loss -9.6 lbs
Nov goal was 5 lbs Made it, loss -5.6 lbs!
Dec goal is also 5 lbs, loss so far -5.4 lbs! Made my goal!

9/14/20-255 lbs Highest weight twice :-(
    5/3/21-240.5 lbs
    6/1/21-228.8 lbs
    7/1/21-222.2 lbs
    8/1/21-212.0 lbs
    9/1/21-200.0 lbs
    10/1/21-191.4 lbs
    11/1/21-181.8 lbs
    12/1/21-176.2 lbs
    12/26/21-165.6 lbs
    12/31/21-168 lbs
Went out to Texas Roadhouse on on 12/28, behaved except for a few of their rolls (remind me of my Grandma's homemade bread) so I'm sure its water weight from Sodium.

My January goal is 5 lbs and continue with my diet and exercise up above, that is working great for me. I did 240 minutes on my Elliptical yesterday and today for 16.5 & 16.55 miles.

1/2/22-168 lbs Still sure it's water weight. And having Pork & Sauerkraut for New Years isn't helping. It will drop eventually.
1/9/22-164.6 lbs. :-) Water weight was finally gone yesterday after a week+ and then a drop today to my lowest weight in 6-7 years!!!! Did 244 minutes on my Elliptical for 17.1 miles.
1/16/22-162 lbs :-) Did 253 minutes for 16 miles on my Elliptical.

1/23/22-164.2 lbs. :-( My own fault. A weak moment a couple days ago and ate a couple donuts someone brought into work, that I have had in the past and know to be exceptional donuts. Best I have ever had in my life! Yes, I'm human. Flaws and all. Also maybe some water retention due to working very long hours and not getting my usual amount of water or sleep. Did 269 minutes on my Elliptical today for 18 miles. Yes, I'm still doing around 4+ hours on it, three times per week, on my days off.

January loss -3.8 lbs of my 5 lb January goal :-(
Down 90.8 lbs of my 132 lb goal to lose!
Fat percentage on my scale(even though they aren't that accurate) is now moderate instead of high. Normal is next!

Well, I blew it yesterday. I didn't have to, but I lost control. I expect to see my weight to climb for a bit but today, back at it. No more games, we lost. But also, no more excuses. Today is a new day, and I know what to do. Have a great day!

1/18-1/22 No workouts, no tracking but food was good, water was good
1/23/22 60 min bowling, still didn't log, water 8 glasses

I was still sick most of the week. Luckily my meal plan held up. I think my sinuses will cooperate enough for a strength workout at lunch.

My work fitness center had a water challenge and I couldn't bring myself to join, I really hate drinking water in the winter. The coach tried asking me to keep a jug on my desk and drink a certain amount each hour. That just didn't appeal to me. BUT... I started drinking hot water to help get over this cold and that was tolerable. Then I added lemon juice to it and found that was even better. I've had cold lemon water in the summer but for some reason my brain didn't put two and two together. Sinus fog maybe? Anyway, I should have joined the stinking challenge to win a prize LOL.

@NYPhotographer2021 You're doing great. Once the weather warms up maybe we could meet up in Lake George for a walk 😊

Total cholesterol can increase during weight loss, and that's not typically improved with dietary changes because the test doesn't differentiate between fat circulating for your shrinking body vs normal cholesterol...maybe see if the Dr will consider just an LDL test?

    just food for thought

@tishsmith101 That would be great! Lake George is so beautiful. I love it there!

@tcunbeliever Thanks for the link! I am unsure if my doctor will consider a different test as they are more expensive I believe? But I will bring it up to him. I've been trying this past week. I've replaced sodium with cholesterol in my food diary and trying to keep it below 300. I'm getting used to egg whites! LOL! I really don't want to have to go back on the statins. But I will. I feel better now than I have had before eating low carb/keto. Probably only indigestion before, but it was unnerving to have chest pains. I was hospitalized a few years ago, and they found no evidence of any blockages. But it's always on the back of my mind. I guess I will know in July at my next appointment. Thanks again!
