No exercise since Friday. Went to the doctor yesterday. For nausea and balance issues. Checked ears, nose, throat and gave me a covid test. All negative but blood pressure is too high. Discontinued. one medication and will monitor blood pressure. Will not resume exercise until dizziness is resolved.
Sorry you aren't feeling well ... I will excuse you from the step challenge until further notice ..I hope you feel better soon ...hugsss1 -
Well I did something for myself this evening, a bit of a NSV. Since prep is due to come to an end, spoke with family and they weren't fully fancying continuing with it at the moment. So, I gave it some thought I've decided to continue with it myself, but go down to 5 days (for a number of reasons). Main thing is, it'll give me structure for 5 days of the week for the next month, come in handy with the work week, but then gives me flexibility to have other things at the weekend for example, I've been wanting to make the two ingredient pizza dough but haven't been able to this month.
I did debate about stopping prep as it would effect household dynamic and whatnot, but I feel like I need longer to establish myself back in my journey, if I were to stop after this month, there's a higher chance that habits would start to creep in more with having more freedom. That's not to say the fact of doing 5 days then freedom at weekend will be easy, if anything it'll be more testing because don't want to do good for 5 days and then potentially blow it on Saturday or Sunday. I also need to be mindful with other family members meals during the week, it will require willpower not to cave in to rejig my meals, but should be fine, I think I still need to keep in mind an element of flexibility in those types of situations on my journey, remember to have real life moments so don't end up going too hard too fast and thus burn out.5 -

I just wanted to let you know that I'm really sick and I go at 1:30 pm to take a COVID test. It's either that or I've just have a very bad cold or maybe the flu.
I have had my first two COVID shots of moderna, not eligible for booster until March. It has to be 6 months they said after taking the last shot.
The reason I'm telling you this is because I'm going to take some time off until I feel better. I don't know how long it will take, I guess it depends on what I have and how long it takes to recover from it.
I don't want to leave the group permanently, is there a way I can just put it on hold until I feel better. I would like to stay in the group if possible.
I will move you to support. Feel better!3 -

Hey everybody! I am so thankful for all of you. I am still a bit under the weather, but making a comeback. In the past, I might have just given up. But not anymore. You are all such an inspiration!
Steps 1/24 6060
I will be making it to 6000 today too, with just a few more to go. It is that time of night. I want snacks. I will not eat snacks. I do not need snacks. I am hungry though. So I will track..... and that's why I am hungry. Okay, time to find a small healthy snack that I measure and track. I can do this. Thank you for listening!7 -
@Beautyofdreams good luck getting the dizziness under control. I hope they find the cause quickly.
Check in for 1/25:
Steps - 4981. Stayed home most of the day.
Calories - 1802 or near there. Tried hard to not snack.
Exercise - none. Helped a bit with laundry.5 -

Happy Wednesday, Downsizers! Here's my daily check-in:
Weigh-in:
PW: 167.5
CW: 164.8 (-2.7)
SW: 250
1/25:
Calories: 1,149
Exercise: Knee strengthening exercises for 1 hour at physical therapy
Steps: 3,810
I have no idea how I lost 2.7 pounds this week since I haven't been able to do cardio because of my knees - but I will take it! My doctor seems to be right: we lose weight in the kitchen and get fit in the gym. I guess if I stay within my prescribed calorie limits, the weight will come off eventually. It gives me hope that my knee situation won't derail my progress too much - it will just slow it down a bit. I see that a lot has been going on with our members - will stop by later with more comments. I hope you all have a great day!!5 -

Awesome loss! I am sorry you have to stop exercising for awhile as I know how important it is to you. I hope you feel better soon!
@MeowScout
How smart to come on here and post when that snack craving hits. I wish I had done that last night.
That’s great that you find the group helpful. I hope you continue to feel better.
@rwood566
You can help do my laundry or any other housework related chore. 😂
@peng123
Fantastic loss! You have proved your doctor right. Keep up the great work and you will meet your weight loss goals.

Last week of January challenge!
What have you done well this month?
Tracking calories - that habit tracking spreadsheet is the bomb, ya'll! I have so much gratitude for whoever set that up. Also, I've been doing pretty good with my new exercise bike. It's starting to feel pretty habitual and I'm actually looking forward to the time I spend on it!
Also, I don't know if I mentioned it in the group but I quit smoking in early December. On the day I quit I was 172 and today I'm 165. While losing 7 pounds in a month and a half isn't as much as I'd like (I was hoping to see the 150s by the end of January) I still have to be pretty pleased. Smoking speeds your metabolism and most people gain about 10lbs when they quit, with most of the weight gain happening in the first three months - so yes! I need to be happy with this. And hopeful as I move into February.
What do you want to improve on in February?
I'd like to be more active on this group, for one. I'm getting a lot out of reading through it and I want to post more regularly. Also, I still need to work on my weekend calorie intake (and alcohol). I really enjoy going out and having cocktails with my husband and friends and it's leading to poor food choices. Must work on this!4 -
✅close rings
✅steps 7,473
✅log food daily
Yes, I closed my rings. I ended up with 31 minutes of exercise. My doctors office is on the upper level of an old mall. To make a long story short, I had the Uber driver drop me off at a door that is a little closer to the escalator. I didn’t realize that they had that entrance closed during lockdown so I walked half way around the outside of the mall to get to the right entrance. Made for a good step and exercise day. With that said, I will not be doing mini walks today as my groin/thigh is hurting a lot.
Today is Bell let’s talk day in Canada. It’s a day to raise both money and awareness about mental health. It’s the 12th year that this has been held. The theme this year is supporting ourselves and each other. We can never go wrong doing this. Let’s stop the stigma around mental health.4 -

Thank you! Mostly I've just been counting calories. There's been a few days where I just let myself eat with abandon (weekends) but drinking bubbly water with flavoring really seems to help if I feel myself craving something.
Interestingly enough, the same techniques that have helped me stop smoking (mindfulness) are helping with my over/binge eating. I've started reframing my over/binge eating when the desire hits. I used to do this, "I really want ... but I can't have it. I'm over calories/carbs/whatever." Now I when it hits I (try) to think, "Actually, what you WANT is to be healthier. You're craving ...." For whatever reason, it's helped with both the smoking and the over/binge eating.4 -

I've been loving this little exercise bike that I got. I really hate going outside when it's cold! I want to retire somewhere that's 75 degrees year round.4 -
Hi all,
Sorry I have been adamant and have not updated my weight either . It's really busy on my side with a move and all the hassle.
Can my weight be updated to 256.4 .I stepped on a scale one night to weigh luggages and that's what I had.
I should be able to be active from next week .
Hope everyone is doing well.
Thanks6 -
