@Aine8046 - Vienna is one of my all time favorite places! I think I have been there 4 times between business and personal travel. When I first saw your latest picture I thought 'Schonbrunn!' but realized it isn't... Is it the Belvedere?

I thought it was Prater! I love that ride, though I threw up right after
That's where Kipcoge did his 2hr marathon.
Yes, this is Prater! And you are correct about Kipchoge0 -

@avidkeo Glad you had a pain free run. Seems like the rest was just what you needed. Congratulations on your speedy time trial!
@teresa502 Love the pictures. Looks like a great hike. I'm glad it didn't sleet the whole time.
@shanaber I am sorry you are still having pain and not sleeping well.
@aine8046 I would really like to do a short run on Saturday and a long run on Sunday. But I try to keep one day available for family stuff.
I had a great run this morning. The sun was out. It was still in the 30's when I got up, but I waited until it warmed up to the 40's before I headed out. It was a beautiful morning. Before I left I was in the backyard with the dogs and there were tons of birds at the feeders. I saw at least 5 cardinals and 3 were full grown males. They were stunning. So I was starting out in a good mood. Strava shows that it was 42° feels like 39° at the start and 52° feels like 52° at the end which seems about right and is perfect running weather for me. I wore capri length leggings and a t-shirt and started with gloves and sleeves which ended up in my pockets, but I was glad to have them starting out.
After the awful weather this week it was so nice to have great running weather. I ended up doubling my mileage goal for February. I guess I should have waited until I felt better before I set it. I can tell my stamina is still not what it was before I was sick, but I am happy that I feel like I am getting there again.

Our Internet went out several weeks ago and it felt like the longest run of my life staring at a wall. If you're internet is spotty iFit probably wouldn't be worth it for you. Good call.
Running quite overweight at 51 is a bit of a chore, so I quite enjoy getting to see different parts of the world if only through a screen.
It's snowing here again today. Spring will come eventually and I'll be able to head back outside.3 -
You can join the Run the World Challenge at this link
Once you have joined you can connect to Strava where it says 'APPS' at the top of the page.
We also have a MFP Monthly Running Challenge group on Strava if you want to join. I tried to send you an invite but it didn't find you even using your Strava name...
@shanaber - I've not used Strava before, but I think I managed to get signed up and request to join both the Run the World challenge and the Strava MFP group. I hope that's okay.3 -

I had ifit when I got my bike. It was a years subscription. And I really liked it. When the year was up it was going to cost me $500 to keep it going! Nope no thanks. So I just watch YouTube instead1 -
Well, my run streak lasted 56 days, but I had an awful stomachache yesterday and ended up going to bed as soon as we got home last night. It was so weird, felt like a bowling ball sitting in my stomach, and I was so nauseous. No way I could have run. Oh well. Maybe my body was telling me to go ahead and start my planned food changes since I ate and drank more than normal on vacation.
I have a 10K this upcoming Saturday on the same route as the Labor Day race I do every year. The weather should be nice, so I’m hoping for a course PR.
@Teresa502 Love the hiking photos!
@Avidkeo Great job on the run!5 -
Nice long run @Aine8046 . Love the picture.
@Tramboman You did great in those conditions. I would have opted for the treadmill again.
Yeah @Avidkeo ! So glad you are back and congrats on being so speedy on your time trial!
@kgirlhart Glad you had such a nice run and are felling better. Hopefully your stamina will come back quickly.
@shesgotaplan You will soon be saying, "Running at 51 at a healthy weight isn't so bad." I usually watch TV or listen to music when I run/walk on the treadmill. I wish I had better internet as I would have loved to used that feature. As it is, I'm used to not having it. The newer treadmills probably have a much better screen than mine. I think my treadmill is about 14 years old.
Nice long run @Scott6255 . Great consistent fast pace too....at least really fast in my book.
@marisap2010 So sorry you were feeling poorly yesterday. I hope you are feeling much better today. Good luck on your 10K this Saturday.
I was so tired today. Not sure why. Anyway, I did my usual Sunday 1 mile walk on the treadmill after church and before lunch.4 -
We got a March thread yet? It's only 4hrs left of Feb here...0

@shesgotaplan - I saw and accepted you into the Strava group and it looks like you joined the Run the Year group too. You don't have RtY connected to Strava so it won't pick up your runs (or walks) automatically (assuming you are tracking them with Strava). You can always add them manually to RtY if you want. There are a couple of runners who do it that way because they don't log their runs with Strava.
Also I was an overweight mid-50 something when I started running. Keep with it and you will do great and feel amazing!
@Avidkeo and @quilteryoyo - do you remember @HonuNui? She created a running challenge for herself with videos on YouTube(?) of places around the world going alphabetically. I always thought if I had to run on a treadmill that is what I would do.
@Avidkeo - great job on your mile pace - wow!
@scott6255 - fantastic long run. It is so hard to keep pace consistent mile after mile!
If anyone tries to join Run the Year and gets and error about credits let me know and I will buy a few more.
I headed out today for a walk but wore my running gear. Who am I kidding... I really wanted a run. My dd called so I used the opportunity to talk to her for the first mile or so, until I got over to the trail. Then I just thought I would try a little bit of running here and there. I found if I hold my arm tight to my chest, it didn't bounce and didn't hurt as much. I am sure it was really bad for my gait but it felt wonderful to run a bit. Arm though is so sore so probably not a good thing to do regularly. It was gorgeous out - about 72F with a nice breeze. Tomorrow and Tuesday we have hot winds coming yet again with temps bumping up too near 90F

Sunny, mid 20s F, and just a light breeze from the south today. Ran 7.0 kilometers in honor of my 70th birthday.
And this is my farewell post on the forum. I didn't want to disappear, lest you think I was abducted by aliens or shot by a jealous husband. Thank you all for your love and encouragement these past few years. We've laughed together, shed some tears together, but most importantly supported each other through the good times and the not so good times.
Keep it sleasy, everybody!!!

I don't have the energy to write a detailed race report, so the short version is: I ran a 'rural HM' this morning, I went out a bit too fast and it was damn hard but I had secret hopes of breaking my previous pr for the distance (2:18 something or 2:19 something depending if you asked Garmin or Strava). Stretch goal was to finish in 2:15. Well my chip time was 2:10:03 so I guess that'll do nicely! Course was a little bit long, too. Sheer bloodymindedness was the only thing that stopped me from walking the last 6 or 7 kilometres though, and I hurt all over already so tomorrow may be ugly 😅

Race weekend. Did the Fairy Tale Challenge at Disney world this weekend, which is a 10k on Saturday and a HM on Sunday. My husband did the HM also.
For the 10k, I settled on racing it. Ended up with a PR for a 10k race but Strava gave me a 10k PR during my January HM and that one was actually about 1 min faster. Not sure which I really count as my real 10k race time. Oh well, ran a good race and had a blast!
The HM was always going to be a no time goal/fun run. My husband and I agreed to get through magic kingdom together then if we needed to split, we would. After being a little sore from racing the day before and him getting his pace up some over the last few weeks of training, we were able to comfortably stick together for the whole race, which was nice.
Got our bling, went back to shower and then headed to magic kingdom for the day. We only lasted until about 5pm. We were both exhausted but our legs were actually feeling ok. Watched a little TV and were in bed by 830!8 -
