@micki48 HUGS to you! It's getting close, and soon will be the settling in part. I feel your frustration with trying to set up your healthcare, especially on the web. There is no one on the other end of the line to get after or ask questions, no way to use your voice. Silent frustration is the worst - you did the perfect thing afterwards! The voice, the breath, the muscles all needed to explode a bit. Phew!
@conleywoods take it easy on that inflamed shoulder If you can aim for an anti-inflammatory style of eating for a week or two, that will help too. And ginger-turmeric tea!
@BlissfulK great stepping on a rest day!
@ashleycarole86 the Flames inflamed your calorie count, eh? gotta watch that!! I'm sure you'll get revenge on them and lose some more, though
@collegelyfe17 That's a good loss! One pound a week is easier to sustain than higher losses - you'll have the need for fewer plateaus, and you'll probably rebound less often. It isn't dramatic, but it sure does the job.
I'm off in "get stuff done before next week's trip" mode. Plus it is gorgeous out and I'll want a good snowshoeing session for sure! Have a good day, all - and keep those numbers flowing in. They make me so happy6 -

I don't like this number 😒 It's also time of the month but darn it. I have really been trying to focus on health. I have definitely had some non scale victories lately. My fiber intake is up where it should be, my prebiotic/prebiotic is having a major impact. No more constipation which has been an issue for years! I'm also eating a lot more fruits and vegetables lately. Doing my best to keep stress at bay. Trying to keep things easy and asking for help.8 -

I am Gary and I live in Florida, USA. I’ve been dieting longer than I care to admit and I haven’t been very good at it. I’ve been walking on a treadmill daily the last few weeks getting ready for a hiking trip this summer. I probably need to start scheduling quarterly vacations because those seem to give me the best motivation. Today I am hiring an accounting firm to take over my bookkeeping and payroll responsibilities for five companies. The transition will take a few weeks but I’ll have a lot more time starting in April and would like to spend some of that time exercising and playing more! Good luck and have a great month!!8 -
@jugar I'm here finally!

I have a course ending tonight, so I need to run and finish a couple of assignments while I can. TTYL. I hope everyone is doing well.5 -
because of the habit tracker...I forced myself out into the cold for a walk late afternoon...it was gorgeous, although it looks like winter still, tree buds are swelling and birds are singing.5

Friday is my let loose day. I get to have a beer, whatever food, and relax a bit on the exercise. I still went out for a snowshoe, although not as long as usual, and there will be no biking tonight. I'm tired. But I did well this week, finally getting back under the looming top end of my maintenance range. Tomorrow, I'll be back to sanity. I love Fridays, but it feels good to get back to Saturday biking while watching something night, and sleeping super well after exercise. It took a while to get used to late evening exercise, but it keeps me from overeating or drinking at suppertime - and the nights are wonderful.
And here comes the weekend! I hope everyone is doing brilliantly. I'm glad the habit tracker forced you out for a gorgeous winter walk, @eggfreak and that your course is ending tonight @evangsimmons170 and that hiking is keeping you moving @gak71 !
@conleywoods you ARE doing well! Keeping things "moving" is great, and hitting other targets is certainly what is going to make your personal recipe effective. For help? I suggest just dropping the total calories a bit more while keeping volume up (fibre is good for that) and see what happens. Maybe this week is just a TOM problem, but change one thing to see what the next week brings, and you have one more bit of info to make this all work. Hang in there!!4 -
@eggfreak I have been noticing the bird songs in our neck of the woods too! Sounds like spring.
@jugar love the free friday idea! Keep that in mind for whenever I hit maintenance.
Alright. Day 3 of turning things around, and it's going well. Third day of jogging to start my walk, and I did a killer full body sculpt workout for about 35 minutes after work. I did a quick grocery run and only allowed myself to pick up 1 snack item for the week. Had a nice caprese chicken salad for dinner. Getting ready to take walk #3 to end my day.
I'm excited for Saturday. For the first time in like 2.5 years, I am going to the movie theater! My friends and I are seeing The Batman. I have a gameplan: get up at my normal alarm, walk/yoga/workout/journal in the morning, have a nice lunch. I will walk to the theater (about 30 min), and since the movie is about 3 hours long, I am only going to buy a [medium] popcorn and snowcaps halfway through the movie so I dont scarf it down during the previews. And I'll walk home. I am writing this here so I am held to it!
Feeling tired but after my walk, that just means I'll drop into sleep super quick.
Random, but if anyone likes looking to youtube for motivation/inspiration, I started following a channel by a woman named April Lauren who is on a journey to lose 200 lbs, and she is so sweet and inspiring, I've just been loving the content.5 -

it was a good week, ate pretty much the same thing every day but enjoyed what I had, weighed all, logged those 3 haagen daz mini bars when I was going to have just 1, and claimed a shelf on the mostly empty work fridge for my daily salads (spinach/lettuce/blue cheese/craisins/boiled egg/my balsamic dressing) all prepped last Sunday. Will do the same this week.6 -
Great weigh-in @eggfreak
Sounds like a well thought out plan paying off!!! Your salads sound delicious
Got up at 5:30 this morning for my 150th cycling class on the Peloton.. 60 minutes done and now I'm ready to tackle the day. Sending this from the hot tub as I soothe my sore muscles and then it's time for coffee with dad!
Enjoy Saturday all5 -
@jugar CW: 182
Happy Saturday! My quick intro for the month: My name is Evelyn and I live in Windsor, Vermont with my spouse, 3 cats, and younger daughter (36-yr old). I've always considered myself oversized, even when in college when I weighed closer to my "goal weight" of 140 lbs. I seem to do best with extreme diets but, as many of us find out, they're hard to maintain and easy to yo-yo back and beyond the earlier "highest" weight. So, I'm here working on moderation. It's still a challenge for me to be inspired to get movement in, especially by myself. Next week, I'll be traveling to see my mother in NC (along with my sister, @jugar!) I *know* the warmer weather will be one of at least 3 good reasons to get out and move. It will be a nice break from icy weather plus the added bonus of being with 2 of my favorite women in the world!
I had a glowing report as the "poster child" for rotator cuff surgery and physical therapy recuperation and it feels great to know that I'm doing well. I started singing with the church choir and that feels great after 2-years off from Covid (and the subsequent dissolution of the choral group with whom I sang for 31 years). My mojo is revving back up just in the nick of time!
I'll try to get into the group challenges and look forward to hearing everyone's stories.

I really didn't want to post this. I know some of it's from birthday dinner and subsequent nights of cake (my husband made me carrot cake!) and some of it's from my stupid cycle.
But this past week has been pretty *kitten* despite the birthday and getting back to the gym. I've been once again ghosted by my master's supervisor. My company made a job for another engineer-in-training even though they told me they couldn't do that for me. It's hard not take that personally. And I've been experiencing a lot of pain. So my mental health baseline is just shot. But it's been shot for such a long time that I'm starting to wonder if that's just the new normal for me.
Here's hoping next week is better. I appreciate reading about everyone's successes and struggles. All your perseverance is inspiring!

This week has been a struggle against pain and delicious birthday temptations. I am surprised that I managed to stay the same as last week. I need to get back on track though! You all are so inspiring!3
