Hello from way down here where there are blossoms and baby leaves and stuff! It's crazy. I felt so weird going outside for a walk without boots, mittens, parka, tuque, scarf - I just had to put a tuque in my jacket pocket just in case! It felt wrong not to be ready for the cold. And there was no cold!
In any case, I survived my super early rise and flight, and had a good walk and gym session with elliptical and some kettlebells this afternoon to counteract all the sitting. I'll certainly hit the hay early tonight!
Let's catch up on weigh-ins to date, and get ready for Thursday:
@lonestarbabe
@Gidgitgoescrazy
@PlaneMonkey
@MoStacy
@metaphysicalstudio
@KellyBgetsFit
@bowens1973
@ashleycarole86
@evangsimmons170
Thanks!4 -
Hello! Food hasn't been super great but not totally out of control either. I did have some wins this week. Monday I wanted a latte at lunch but I passed. Tuesday was the same thing but I also passed. Today I had a major craving for fast food fries on the way home but I didn't stop! Monday was really bad calorie wise. My husband has been on the emotional eating thing for awhile. Of course he looks great and gains nothing. I'm hoping my husband's work stress starts slowing down. So hard to not eat at night when someone else is eating. The past two days have been better for food. I have made it out for several walks lately. Tonight I took it easy after work. Today was our screening day so lots of appointments all morning and my afternoon schedule was changed around as well. I'm just hoping for any amount of a loss this Friday 🙏5

@jugar can I please push my weigh-in until Friday this week? After this week I'd like to be put on the support team for awhile, I've decided I need the mental break from my weight counting towards the team stats. I'm going to get this pendulum to stop swinging and the first step is getting Kristi @conleywoods to share her prebiotic/probiotic solution!
I'm seeing the physio this afternoon for a progress report on my problem left hip and now I get to add in in inflamed right knee to the mix. So tragic because that was my good knee.....lol A girl just wants to squat and deadlift and lunge! It can be so disheartening when movement becomes painful. especially cause that means I have to rein in the calories even more and not eat the feelings. I have been guilty of eating the feelings the last week or so and I've made the error of bringing unhealthy food into the house to appease the covid-suffering family members. I'll turn this wagon around and head back to healthyville. Spring is coming, I can feel it! I need to earn that new dress I'm going to buy....6 -

I was sooooo hopeful I'd see a second digit 6 this week, but apparently the 160's are shy (or total jerks!) 😉6 -

@jugar have a lovely trip!
@conleywoods I feel you on the late night snacking. It is a habit I am determined to break and I'm going to take advantage of my husband not being around many evenings eating on the sofa to do that because like you, I find it much harder to avoid when he's snacking.
@PlaneMonkey sorry about your knee. It's so frustrating when our bodies won't just do what we want them too. Hopefully the knee is nothing major and just a bit of overcompensation for the left hip!
@bowens1973 @ashleycarole86 you two are the ultimate power couple!
I have finally admitted to myself that I'm really struggling - and I am definitely at my highest weight of the year. Facing up to the difficulties is the first step in overcoming them, right? I know we're really fond of the perfect day in here but I don't have it in me right now. What does feel achievable is to drink 2L of water so I am going to do that today. I'm 1.25L down already and haven't tracked it, but will do so after writing this post. Baby steps to regain my focus.7 -
Good morning. I apologize for being late on my weigh-in. I'm going to bow out of this group. I was weighing every day, and it was really screwing with my head since my weight loss was so slow. I finally had to throw the scale out, so I won't be able to weigh in. Maybe when I get my mind right I can come back. I'm just going to focus on my calories and exercise and not worry about the number on the scale.8

I know @jugar is travelling but I think she'd say that you can always join our support group if you are getting anything out of being here but don't want to weigh in.
Regardless, it was nice to have you for the time you were here and we will be waiting if/when you do want to re-join us! Best of luck in your journey!3 -

Baby steps make sense! Rebuild those habits one by one - the ones you know work for you. A water habit is a great place to start.

3/9 exercise:
8961 steps + 45 minutes Peloton
I took the day off today so I could focus on spending time with my dad and brother. We went for lunch and a movie. I took Morgan (our baby turns 2 today!!!) for her walk when I got home. Started the morning with the Peloton so I got that out of the way.
Another day of planned maintenance - although when I'm still in losing mode this is actually maintenance - 10%. Still gives me a better calorie buffer. There are friends and family coming over for a rib dinner tonight so I needed it!
I am back at work tomorrow and then we are off as a family to Banff for an overnight - a mini getaway before Dad goes back to Manitoba on Monday!6 -
@PlaneMonkey How did physio go?
@conleywoods Hoping for some relief for your husband too. It's not easy when our loved ones are so stressed.. it's like we're living it to! Hugs to you and the fam.1 -

She thinks my knee might be related to sciatic issues as well as the hip. She's a tiny lady but she has sharp pokey fingers that pin point all the sore spots! I've got a new list of exercises to add to my repertoire before I see her again next month. I'm icing the back of my knee and will avoid deep squats, lunges and crawling until it stops hurting. Gee, no burpees or mountain climbers for me! 😉
Its not going to stop me from hockey though! I'm heading back tonight now that I've finished my covid isolation.4 -
Yo ho! Things are rolling right along here at my mom's - I went to the gym with her this morning for an aerobic dance kind of class. I was seriously impressed! This is a great group. My mom is 91, others in the group are in their 70s and 80s. There was some fun happening, and everyone was really putting on the moves! It sure is encouraging to know that getting old can be fun, at least some of the time! The tunes were great, and I worked up a good sweat. I followed that with a fairly intense Pilates chaser, and this afternoon a rehearsal with the pianist I play with down here. But then I had ice cream after dinner... I think it will all add up OK
@lonestarbabe no problem to give up the weigh-ins and stay with the team if you want to. Let me know!
@PlaneMonkey I am another left hip/right knee sufferer. I hope yours respond well to the physio and all - it is really not fun when it all hurts. And moving your weigh-in for the week is fine.
@DD265 Hang in there! It's a good idea to start with the water. Get that going, and start to think what tinkering you can do with your food, without having to do it yet - what could you tolerate? There might be some simple substitutions or changes of focus that will work easily in baby steps like the water. Hugs to you!!
@EvMakesChanges gets here tomorrow morning! girl party all weekend5 -

Hi trying to catch up but I’m not going to make it through the posts. Keep falling asleep and dropping my phone. 4 days until packers come to prep. 5 days until movers are here to load.
Found out today, my sister will have her surgery on Tuesday. Same day my movers are here.
Hope you are all doing well. Looking forward to being at the other end.

Not quite what I'd hoped, but that's life!
@micki48 stay strong! You will get through this. All the hugs.3 -
@micki48 All your hard work has built to this crunch time week ahead.... I can't imagine how exhausted you must be. Thanks for checking in. Sending best wishes for your sister's surgery and the move.

Just a smidgen under! I will take it for sure.6 -
@PlaneMonkey here is the link for the prebiotic and probiotic I have been using for the past 6 weeks. It's a capsule within a capsule and has changed my life! Unfortunately fiber alone just doesn't get me moving even when I am between 25-35g daily. But together ❤ so much better!

Hi everyone!
My current weight is 222.1lbs 🤷
Not sure if it is good or bad 🤷
So many things has happened 🤦
I realized that I really have to get involved in group conversation more 🤣🤭🙈
Good luck everyone ❤️3 -
It has been a lovely Carolina Friday! Started with a fogged in airport so my sister was delayed for a couple of hours, but then there was some delicious sunshine. I had a couple of good outdoor walks and a fantastic gym session - elliptical and kettlebells. Shower earned
I was thinking of keeping up with @metaphysicalstudio on the elliptical yesterday and today - I got a good groove going and felt the sisterhood!
I'll be back later - hoping for more news from everyone2 -

It is good! You are down 1.1 pounds I hope that the things have happened and that you are OK. We'll be glad to hear about it when you have a minute for sure!2 -
Good day around here! I didn't get up early enough to ride the Peloton before work, so I focused on getting my 10,000 steps instead, which I don't often do! My dad is still here and I didn't want to abandon him for the bike tonight so I'll just get on tomorrow. I miss it when I don't ride... but rest days are good too!
I had one of those moments where I had a little bit banked for a small snack after supper and then I realized I forgot to log my yogurt from breakfast! Goodbye to the snack.. does this ever happen to anyone else? I had a mini moment of sadness for the piece of chocolate or fruit I was going to eat and then got over it... lol. I definitely prefer to keep a tiny amount back for those after supper munchies though!
Have a good weekend everyone.3 -
@ jugar I would like to be moved to support for awhile. I plan on staying in the group, but I need to put the scale away for awhile.
@ashleycarole86 I plan on staying on the step team. Congratulations on your loss this week. I skimmed the post and you and Brad are doing amazing. This summer, I am definitely going to try out the Pelton app.
Kristy - what grade does your husband teach? Is it his class or everything? It's a hard to be a teacher. Our state just gave teachers a HUGE pay raise to try to keep teachers. When I get stressed, I have to take time to really focus on what I LOVE about the job, which can be hard. I have been attending all the progression to Kinder IEPs and we have so many kids coming next year. I am praying that means less unidentified kids.🤷♀️
Courtney- I hope you can find some exercises to help relieve your pain. HUGS💕4 -
Sorry for not posting, was busy yesterday. Had an interview!
191 for my weigh in.3 -
@KellyBgetsfit Sounds great and thank you so much. I'd be interested when you try the Peloton app to see what you think of the Barre content compared to what you normally do... I have nothing to compare to.
Had my 60 minute long ride this morning and I'm getting ready for our overnight with the family to Banff to see the Nightrise light show on the top of Sulphur Mountain. Thankful for these times to make memories.. even though my parents are divorced and have been for 20 years or so they can spend time together which is such a blessing for us kids.
My weight this morning started with a 16-!!! I really don't remember the last time my weight was in this range but I'm guessing late high school timeframe. Feels surreal and I'm not sure I recognize my body most days.
The sun and warmth has come back to Alberta. Soaking up some Vitamin D and feeling the good vibes for spring to get here.
@eggfreak and others.. sending good thoughts for anyone dealing with feelings of disgust, guilt, or otherwise difficult emotions. Hoping you find your way into loving kindness with your body and the journey.. or anger to propel yourself forward... different strokes for different folks!6 -
