Erin Go Bragh, y'all! Yes this southern, 95% Irish child loves St.Patrick's Day! Brisket, cabbage, soda bread and fig and pear pie are on the menu today. Maybe some contra dancing will happen this week. Today is cardio day so maybe a little jig to my favorite Irish band, Rend collective. Definitely wearing my green. Shamrock compression socks will be supporting all of this today. That's the plan so far.
@lindamtuck2018 I will also be on vacation next week. The Florida springs here we come! Probably will not report stats as I don't tote scales other than my food scale and I am thinking about not even worrying about that and make it a chill week as far as diet goes.
I hope everyone has a great day and join in the Irish celebration!4 -
Good morning everyone. Happy St. Patrick's Day. May you all be blessed with good luck today.
Check in for 3/16:
Steps - 10359
Calories - 1717. I cheated last night. I made jello and logged it right away before it set. I used that as my excuse not to have anything else to eat. It didn't set early enough to eat so I wound up not eating a dessert.
Exercise - 2.78 mile walk in 51 minutes. My back felt good so I may double that distance today. I don't feel comfortable going to the gym yet.3 -
Good Morning Everyone ... Happy St. Patties day ...I hope everyone is doing good ... I will be making a new recipe today that I am anxious to try ... I will be making Keto Pad Thai with shrimp for lunch

@melissadreed903 I did say Florida. Sorry but I have been waiting for a year for this trip. I will post pictures when I get back.
I know you will have fun on your trip too.2 -

03/17
50 min. Strength training
33 min.. elliptical 4.34 miles
Weights go up next week on deadlifts and rows. Yippee!
Went to Mcdonald’s for breakfast and an elderly man fell outside. Fortunately an off duty police officer and the county sheriff were there before ambulance arrived. His wife was called and she refused treatment for him despite the man being very unsteady. Hope he is okay.
Maybe you’re right about the binges @lindamtuck2018. Hope your muscle strain heals soon and you can get back in the pool.
@melissadreed903 you’ll be fine at bootcamp. Just do what you can and ask for modifications on whatever is not comfortable. Are you using Skinnytaste recipes to meal prep?
Have great vacations @tahm42, @jimboden3 , @melissadreed903 post some sunny photos please. It’s raining here today and expecting snow tomorrow.2 -
Does anyone get the “Half Size Me” emails or listen to the podcast. It covered something that I call positive self talk but is probably something else.
Heather says instead if focusing on things that you DON’T want to do(like binge eating) focus instead on what you want to do(wait 20 minutes before getting seconds). She states that your brain wants to solve problems and take action so if you focus on the negative, you will repeat the negative actions. Instead focus on one or two positive actions that you can take.3 -

Not doing nearly as well this week!1 -
Hi guys, Just wanted to say sorry for being MIA. Things have been crazy and I've really lost my drive so I'm taking time out of it all. Currently just trying to maintain the lost I've achieved to date and hopefully I'll get another boost to try again soon. This group has been so helpful this is the longest I've every managed to stay on track and the most I've every lost so I'm hoping to be back again at some stage. Good luck everyone with your journeys.4

@tahm42
I miss all the St. Paddy’s Day celebrations we had when I lived in Newfoundland still. So many people there have Irish roots. My dream is to visit Ireland some day.
@rwood566
Glad your back is on the mend. Awesome steps!
@Megan_smartiepants1970
What do you use for noodles? I am assuming you can’t eat noodles on keto.
@melissadreed903
You can do this. Just go at your own pace. You will be surprised how much you can do. I can’t wait to hear about your first class.
@888Angie888
Fantastic loss!
@Beautyofdreams
I keep meaning to listen to that podcast. One of our former members talked about it all the time. It makes sense. This week there was a lot of lindor chocolate around from my husband’s birthday. My constant thought was don’t eat them. Well two nights in a row I was up eating them which lead to a binge. I need to listen to that podcast.
@Pippin20206
I am sorry to see you go. It was so nice to watch you go from learning about your liver problem and to losing weight to help. I am moving you to support for now. Have you thought about taking a diet break for a week or two?

Not sure if I will get to the pool today. My granddaughter is being picked up earlier than expected. If it’s not too late I will go and get some laps in. My heart was broken yesterday. My granddaughter told me it makes her sad that I can’t do things like go to the mall or walks with her. I never think about how much my back problems affect other people besides me. It’s beautiful outside so I am going to spend sometime on the balcony enjoying the sun. It was 22C yesterday and it’s going up to 16C today. Love the spring like weather.
Happy FriYAY!

Happy Friday Downsizers! It's been a crazy week for me. One of my daughters dear friends (my bonus daughter) lost her brother and it has been so hard. He was only 27, leaves behind a wife and child. So sad.....Haven't been getting steps in or any exercise to speak of. Eating has been ok, logging not so much - I think I've missed 4 of 7 days. I logged today and hoping I can stick with it over the weekend to get me back in the "mind set".

I will be getting back to my C25K on Monday. I don't remember who asked how long it is, but it's 12 workouts on iFit. My plan was to finish it in 4 weeks, but this week put a wrench in that.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.3 -
@Beautyofdreams mentioned the Half Size Me podcast in her check in. Does anyone have any favourite weight loss, mindfulness, exercise, etc. podcasts to recommend? I will make a list of everyone’s favourites and post it in the next few days.2 -

Happy Friday ya'll!! We made it!! Wooooohooooo!!
Well, the reason I chose to weigh-in on Friday's is so that I can kinda SPLURGE on Friday night and work on what ever damage I did during the week. Well... Friday came a day early. Like, "last night"... lol we had so much fun though! Hubby and I went to the Casino for their special in the restaurant. I've never had Reuben sandwiches and it was so dang good! I didn't think I would like sauerkraut, but it's not so bad. (I won't eat it by itself, that's for sure). I paired that sandwich with some french fries and a cold draft Coors Light.
We then proceeded to go to the casino for their St. Patrick's Day free play. We partook in a couple more beers and we laughed and had so much fun. Only stayed for about 1 1/2 hours total (dinner/slots, etc).
Walked out of the casino and it was POURING. I thought the storm would come later, but it showed up sooner. We drove in the storm (hail, sideways rain). Pretty scary. I looked over at my husband and said, "Please tell my you left Chunk in the house ". (Chunk is our 100lb lab). He didn't. He left him outside.
When we arrived home, Chunk was GONE. He has major anxiety and the storm just sent him over the edge. Here came the tears and panic. It was still raining and we knew he was hiding safe somewhere. I'm still crying over thinking that we had lost him forever. THEN... FACEBOOK redeemed itself. I logged on to our home town Buy/Sell/Trade and there was our Chunk. At the Police Station hanging out with the officers. We hightailed it up there and was reunited with him. They agreed he is the strongest dog they've ever seen and a kind pet.
He hopped up in the truck front seat (I let him ride shotgun after the trauma he'd been through). Dried him off and showered him with dog treats.
WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!
Needless to say, my fun last night of course showed up on the scale this morning. I know what it's from (sodium) and I'm good with that.

I hope you at least won at the casino after all that. A rueban sandwich is one of my favourites. I can eat sauerkraut on just about anything. I am sure most of that weight is water weight. I am so glad your dog is ok. He deserves lots of treats. On a side note, I am going to Atlantic City at the end of May. I have never been there so I am excited to see the board walk and play the slots. 🎰1 -
@melissadreed903 So glad you found your fur baby! No worries the # are just water retention.1

My go to podcast is losing 100# with Corinne. also known as Phit n Phat or No BS weight loss. She has changed the title most currently to Losing 100# with Corinne. She has a sailors mouth but she speaks truth and blows every excuse out of the water. She is good for a kick in the butt when working on the mental crap of weight loss.4

I have heard about that one too! It’s so quiet in the apartment during the day when I am housecleaning so I think it would be a good time to listen to podcast.2 -
