A lot of stress-eating took place last week. I have hit the reset button this morning!

Mixed week step wise too - some days I felt completely worn out, and other days I was raring to go.5 -
Starting off Monday on a positive note - Sammy the cat no longer constipated after 2+ days & I don't have to bring him to the vet!! Honestly, the things I have to keep track of in this household!! Did loads of garden work yesterday and needed a tylenol before bed; woke not quite as creaky. @lauren_989 reminds me that another habit I need to add to my list is to cut out any added sugar items. Try and break that addictive craving. I would really like to be in the green all this month and show a loss every week. Have a good week all!5

Hello my name is Kelly. I am a wife, mother of 4, and Kindergarten teacher. I also run an online business, and I am taking 2 online classes for Early Childhood Education. I need more hours in the day. After maintaining during the holidays, I started to gain Jan/Feb. I started getting back into better habits in March, but the scale didn't move, so I took a few weeks off...then went on vacation and got sick so the scale still hasn't moved!
April Goals
👉Move my body more! I am aiming for 4 planned workouts and 4 walks/elliptical a week.
👉 Log my food and cut out snacking.6 -
To all of those who crushed their goals in March, congratulations!!!!
@jugar my biggest snack downfall is eating fod I buy for the kids or work. I do not buy food I will binge on, but those packs of goldfish crackers (or my coworkers oreos 🙄) add up. I need to just say NO!
@eggfreak We are going to crush April!!! Did I say that last month??? I know we have both been struggling, but let's do this!
@lauren_989 bone broth is supposed to help with sugar cravings and side effects. I think it is the sodium. After the holidays, I always make soup with bone broth to help cut out sweets.
I ate too much and moved too little this weekend. Mikey put the baby to bed last night. I enjoyed some much needed me time. I went to bed early so I could get up early and workout. The baby did not sleep well, so I turned my alarm off. BUT. Ai decided I will do a 30 min workout after work today. There. I said it, now I have to do it!6 -
@KellyBgetsfit Yes you will do that workout after work! You will not regret it even if it is hard to get started. No cooking supper until you're done! I used to make my family wait for supper if I had not done my workout yet, and the kids were proper geniuses at bugging me so that they got to eat on time
@lexabeep good to have you with us! I know that having a small group like this makes a big difference even if you don't lose all in one big go. Let us know what we can do to support you best
For all the new people - when you weigh in, I mark your post with "insightful". It helps me know which ones I have entered into the spreadsheet. I know that @ashleycarole86 does the same when you post about your steps and exercise as well, which I hope you'll do! We're currently trying to take enough steps (or their exercise equivalents) to accompany @micki48 Michele on her recent move from North Carolina to Philadelphia. We have not quite caught up to her yet!
I like the energy in here! The beginning of the month is always inspiring, with new members, new commitments, and renewed determination. Let's make it last!3 -
@ashleycarole86
My steps and exercise for last week:
Sunday - 10,084 + bike 50 min
Monday - 6413 + Pilates 15 + bike 45
Tuesday - 10,903 + Pilates 15
Wednesday - 11,093 + Pilates 30
Thursday - 10,637 + Pilates 15
Friday - 9454
Saturday - 10,732
Still a slow week - but my back is starting to feel much better!4 -
Alrighty! First check in with the team....so here's how it's going so far...
Weigh In Day: Mondays
PW (Previous Weight): 140.6
CW (Current Weight): 138.8 (-1.8)
Last Week Recap:
After Monday, tracking and clean eating was good for the most part- there were definitely a few times where I had to tell my brain that I wasn't physically hungry and I didn't actually need to find anything to snack on. I did a health fair for the local school staff on Weds, so that was fun and I made a lot of good connections! Thursday was a blast as I took a field trip with the local alternative school and we hiked around Buffalo lake. Lots of steps and lots of mud (really hope my favorite Pumas aren't totally ruined). The weekends are my downfall. My fiance is a big snacker and I can't say no to him - so that generally results in store runs where I buy absolute crap and usually end up indulging in it too. I should know how to prepare myself better and need to develop a wee bit more self control. Note to self - prep healthier snacks for weekend binges. My long run was planned for Sunday but we had a high wind warning here and I just can't breathe when I have 50mph winds blowing in my face, so I had to substitute a stationary bike ride in it's place. Hopefully I can get outside to run soon but MT weather isn't very accommodating.
Goals for this week:- Prep healthy snacks for the weekend to prevent cheez-it binges
- Make sure to hit that long run outside this coming Sunday
- Bike 100km to get that Garmin Badge
- Yoga 3-4x/wk (with a core/arm balance focus)
Other life stuff:
We got an Alusky puppy on St. Patricks day and have been working on training. It's going really well but he leaves little time for anything else. Oh to have a toddler again Our new intern starts today so I'll be entertaining her next week (she's with the other dietitian this week) and that always seems to cut into my lunchtime workouts so I'll have to have a contingency plan in place. I also got offered the IHS loan repayment program, so I've agreed to stay here in BFE for at least 2 years. It's going to come with a lot of challenges, but at least we know that we can start updating the house now.5 -
Weigh-In Day: Monday
PW: 157.5 lbs
CW: 153.9 lbs5 -
So far there are some lovely green numbers on the spreadsheet! Well done @MoonlitMuse @SatanLuciferJones and @BlissfulK
@MoonlitMuse cheez-it binges! Those are seriously dangerous. There are piles of cheez-it boxes in the entryway of our supermarket for the past couple of weeks - they are on sale and I have to walk by them every time. So far I have resisted! Stick with orange and get some oranges or clementines. They are so good and not as dangerous. I find citrus and pickles are a great way to ward off a snack attack. Sour stuff sometimes kills the sweet craving, and the crunch and salt of good dill pickles is a pretty good substitute for chips and crackers.
It is a gorgeous day today and it has been lovely just wandering around outside. Not too strenuous, but lots of time just enjoying. Now some Pilates and making dinner.
Still need a couple Sunday-Monday people:

@jugar I’m trying to get myself together but it’s not working so well. I think I need to go on support team for April. I really am torn because I need to be here, but I can hardly remember where I put my keys or if I took my meds. My weight is up. I don’t want to zing the team. If I can manage to remember, I will still weigh in just not have it count. I am up about 5 pounds since we moved. It’s frustrating because I was consistently losing but feeling pretty bad from stress. Now I am feeling better but eating and gaining.
I need to take some time to plan how I am going to get myself back on track. So many things in my life that I’m trying to adjust to and figure out. Just might need to give myself some grace and time to do it. I will still check in for sure.

@jugar I should have said just cutting out the sweets/candy/donuts/junk food. I find snacking on fruit helped with the sugar withdrawal. I still eat yogurt, fruit, breads, etc. I keep telling myself, oh it's not that much to have a donut today, a piece of cake for someones birthday tomorrow, some easter candy that's on the shelves for months 😂 then before I know it, I've gained 5 pounds. Last night I just went to bed early and woke up feeling great today!3

Hello,
Monday check in time! I am within my calorie budget for the day. No exercise today. We had high winds so no running outside. All of the trails on our property are forested and I didn't want any branches coming down on me. I could have worked out indoors but I spent the day scurrying about doing dishes and laundry incase the power went out. So far we still have power...hopefully it stays that way.
Clothing is one of my biggest motivators. I LOVE to buy dresses from Ivy City Co. It's my guilty pleasure for sure. Every once in awhile the size chart isn't quite right. I am sooooo close to fitting into the one I just got. It zips but feels tight! I WILL fit into it...because sizing up will be way to big and it sold out in 2 days so I can't size up anyways. It's so cute 😍 !

Hi all, I'm Katie, 34 living near Nottingham, UK, with my husband (OH) and our two cats. OH joined the police force late last year, and last week was his first time on his shift pattern. He works 2 earlies (7am-4pm), 2 lates (3pm-12am/1am/3am depending on the day) and 2 nights (10pm-7am) then has 4 rest days. I work 8.30-5 M-F, from home, in a desk based job, so it's quite the adjustment. Weight wise, I am an emotional eater. Good, bad, ugly, there's a food for it! With OH's job change, and a few other bits, there has been so much stress in my life the past few months and I've struggled. I had a great start to weight loss in 2021, then faltered around July and gained a big chunk back. I managed a great week the one before last, then last week gained that loss back too! I keep chipping away at it. For now, maintaining isn't the worst thing whilst we find our new routines.
I got some new trainers on Sunday (went for a gait analysis in the end) so went running yesterday to test them out. Last week I felt really run down, but my energy levels were back up after resting a lot - alas I really struggled with my breathing so it didn't feel like a great run, but the shoes were fine. In contrast, I had a personal training session this morning which went brilliantly. C (my trainer) thought we'd need to do some work on mobility first but he didn't have to lay a hand on me - uber flexible this morning! We did front squats and over head press, then some over head squats. Focusing on technique rather than weight. Really enjoyed it.
My plan for this week is more sleep, more water, and more rest. And still no chocolate.6 -
a win: late yesterday, after work, mum popped a frozen blackberry tart into the oven, while I was preparing my fish supper. That, and seeing that @Blissfulk had done 100 minutes of exercise...motivated me and I went for a half hour walk, came back, said 'No' to the delicious smelling tart, and had my fish/broc/potato supper. Gave dad some tart and put the rest in the fridge. Went to bed feeling angelic.6

Happy Tuesday!
I wrote this last night, and then did not hit "post reply" so better late than never!
@micki48 - I think going on support for April is a good idea, and you can still weigh in if you want to. It will give you a chance to settle in and get a new routine going without the pressure. Come in and post how things are going whenever you can.
@lauren_989 that makes sense! Cutting out the cakes, donuts, and all that stuff is certainly going to make a big difference. I'm glad you woke up feeling great - excess sugar can really mess with your brain. WTG!
Only one Tuesday person on the roster -
the @Kali225 solo!2 -

You ARE angelic. And you have no blackberry seeds stuck in your teeth. And you will feel wonderful all day!
@conleywoods that dress is angelic! It will be nice and comfy soon - take a deep breath and feel your angel wings spread every time you are near the temptations!
@DD265 spread your wings too! They are keeping you away from the chocolate and helping you lift those weights at the gym instead of lifting extra food
I'm off for a good long walk while my car gets its spring attention - my mechanic lives on a quiet gravel road where the walking in any direction is fantastic, so I always hope for a beautiful day when I have an appointment there. Today has come through! Sunshine. I'll walk up to my daughter's former house to see what the new owners have done with the place - I miss having my horse there and taking great rides all around the area. Of course I mostly miss having my daughter nearby I'll be in Alberta to visit her next month, and I'll spend some time with the horse she is starting for me. He'll move here, if all goes well, next fall. He's a beautiful young appaloosa who should take me through my next few years as long as I keep healthy and fit!

@lauren_989 I totally understand the snowball effect of food. I tell my patients that there are typically two types of people. Those who can have a just a nibble of a 'junk food' and be good and that keeps everything else within healthy bounds, or those of us who have that nibble and then another and then the justification for it being more in quantity and in frequency makes it a regular thing. I'm definitely the latter which is why I have to be super careful about what I allow myself to have. Sugar withdrawal is definitely a thing! Keep with your fruit though (and if it get's boring by itself, I like to whip up a PB/Vanilla greek yogurt fruit dip)
@conleywoods That dress and shoes are ADORABLE!! I've never heard of Ivy City before but I'm going to have to check it out. I also empathize with the high winds (we're STILL under a high wind warning) so running outside is something I can only dream of doing right now.
@jugar oh your boy is so gorgeous! How many hands is he?
And today I FINALLY got around to having a wellness visit for the first time in about 8 years. The NP was great (AND a fellow Ohioan turned Montanan) and ordered alllllll the labs for me. Can't wait to get those back (I'm a number nerd). I also got diagnosed with hEDS, which is a connective tissue disorder and explains so much. With the puzzle pieces fitting together now, I think I can create a better plan to keep myself going and active safely without thinking I'm being a hypochondriac or that I'm doing something wrong since I'm sore and tired all the time. I'll keep you guys updated on the labwork, because who knows what kind of interesting things I could discover.6 -
