Happy June!
Intro - Married soon to be 32 years; empty nester: 2 sons, 1 30 yo married to a wonderful girl and 30 min from us; 1 27 yo engaged to a wonderful girl who are currently living in GA - she was hired by Coca Cola as a flavoring specialist - only 750 worldwide that do this work - this just happened in April - which was a surprise and saddened
Both me and my husband work remotely for our jobs thankfully.
My husband is currently recovering from pancreatic cancer surgery - it was Stage 1 and less than 1 in. tumor in the middle of the pancreas so 1/2 of it was removed - so now he has to take insulin and watch his blood sugar - next chemo round will be starting soon after his drainage bag is taken off and he heals - I know how lucky we are that it was found early last November by CT scan b/c of another problem
It's been a tough year so far as our 15yo kitty had to be put down earlier this month too
My weight goes up & down - I'm sure due to stressors - I go to my local barre studio 10 min from my home plus Bodyfit by Amy on YouTube and I'm in her personal FB Group which has helped me immensely as I can write personal things in there and get support - I don't have any friends that live close to me so basically by myself
Hopefully, this month will be better4 -
Yukie_OP - Intro: I’m in sunny CA but work indoors (in an office) on a PC 8+ hrs/day – which means I lead a very sedentary life. I try to counteract this by walking during my lunch breaks. The evenings, don’t leave me much time/energy, so it’s usually dinner and wash-up for bed. I go to bed early and tend to rise early.
I’m also a wife + mom to an elementary aged girl. I aim to keep her busy/active in sports and extracurriculars. When possible (weekends) we try to do joint activities that we can do as a family (biking, rollerblading, volleyball, badminton, tennis).
JUNE * Summer is officially here/school is done and we have a packed month of activities/commitments.- I’m still prioritizing my studies (work related) * will be the case for the next 6+ mos
- Aim to maintain my food log daily (55day streak) & stay under my daily caloric allowance *happens 80% of the time
- Keeping my step goal at 6k @jessicakrall8

Hi everyone! I'm Jennifer from Colorado
I started this journey a year ago and, as of today, am down 70 pounds. MFP and groups like this have made a huge difference. I'm still 34.8 pounds away from my goal weight and am focused on making progress. While my hope was to reach goal weight this year, the losses have slowed, which is to be expected. So, I'll be happy to lose half of that in the remainder of this year and then keep moving down every year until I get there.
I just returned from a trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe. I love to travel and this is my first trip post COVID. The difference in traveling from weighing 260+ pounds to 190 pounds is astronomical. My energy levels, strength, confidence and enjoyment skyrocketed. I've always enjoyed every trip, but squeezing between the seats on the small planes? Big Smile! Climbing into safari vehicles? Silently celebrating! Meeting all the new people from travelers to locals with confidence? Patting myself on the back for all my hard work. It was awesome!!
I retired over six years ago and am now a full-time working artist. My son is grown and I'm very happily single. I've found joy in hiking and swimming, which is a surprise since I've always struggled with exercise.
I do have to say, since I got back from my trip a week and a half ago, I've struggled to get back on track. I'm not eating the way I used to over a year ago, but my snacking is up. I recognize it's a dangerous time for me, so I need to stay focused and busy. But I'm here and will keep moving forward.
Thanks to everyone for all the great support over the last year!!8 -
@jessicakrall8 My steps since 5/29 (thank you soooo much for keeping track of these stats!)
5,000 steps for 5/29, 5/30, 5/31 & 6/1.
Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great day. It's a beautiful spring day here in New Haven We had a lunch meeting outside in our courtyard and it was so nice. This is inside the entrance to our building and our courtyard:
My step count is the same everyday because I'm going by the YouTube "Walk 5 Miles/Hour" Video that I do each day & the step counter is on the screen. Prefer not to wear Fitbit on wrist, and my clothes don't have pockets, so I can't keep track that way. I'm sure I'm putting in a bit more than 5,000 steps each day by walking to/from work, but not much. I'm only a 10-minute walk to work & only go in 3 days/week. I get up & stretch during the workday, but don't walk much between 8am & 4pm.
Signing off for the evening (too much screen time today). Wishing you all a wonderful evening

Hi all. Can I please sign up for the step challenge? Aiming for 10000 a day. I live in the Dorset countryside in UK. Beautiful walking 🙂 Need to get this weight shifted. I'm the heaviest I've been ever 😔 and can't get myself motivated to shift it! Trying to track my food but failing miserably to add it. Off into town to have a walk now... But first add food!
@bigbeff82 Got you signed up at 10k, but can I please have a first name for the chart? Welcome to the fun! Good luck!

Hi Y'all:
Having a rough week, but would rather focus on the positive, so here we got:- Today was amazingly productive and I got a lot done.
- Woke up feeling strong and was able to walk nearly a mile before work and hit my step goal just as I got home from work!
- Had some interesting conversations with colleagues today and caught up with a few I hadn't seen in quite a while as they were out for various reasons.
- Had a really nice conversation with one person who is a rather negative person and doesn't usually have much good to say, but today was a landmark day in that he was kind, NOT negative and was actually nice to me. I've always been a people pleaser and those of us who are that way, tend to be really hard on ourselves. I've also had low self-esteem for many reasons and it's been a real battle to not let people take advantage of me anymore, so I reveled in the niceness from this person today because I've recently had to stand up for myself (which is good, but not easy to do) yet, I've done so because I'm worth it!
- Had a couple of nice conversations today with upper management and that made me feel great!
- Packed my lunch today and stayed "on plan".
- Picked up grocery order on my way home and got a little something to go with my baked chicken, but again, it wasn't anything crazy and I stayed in control!
- Got the "go ahead" to work from home tomorrow YAYYYYYY!
- Came home and ate dinner and played a little with Miss Hazel, who's my little cuddle bug!
So I'm going to go lie down and read for a bit. Hope all of you have a marvelous Thursday. By the way, during my busy times, I just want you guys to know that I'm doing my best to keep up with all of the charts and program planning for the group challenges. If I miss something, please don't get upset. I've discovered that if someone else posts at the same time that I'm playing catch up, it sometimes doesn't show it as new postings when I check before logging off. If you see something missing, please post a reminder and I hopefully will see it when you do so. I'm sorry if I've missed anything this week. Hoping things will calm down in a few weeks. Appreciate your patience. Thank you to @Pupowl ( I was saying "Good boy Tinus " during your video!!) and @PatriceFitnessPal for keeping me sane and reminded of little slips.

@jessicakrall8 - I’m sorry to hear it’s been a rough week but I love the way you highlighted all the positive things that help bring you some balance during a busy time.
I’m working on standing up for myself more, too, so I can identify with you regarding how much practice it takes. This made me smile and my heart sing:
Quote: “I've also had low self-esteem for many reasons and it's been a real battle to not let people take advantage of me anymore, so I reveled in the niceness from this person today because I've recently had to stand up for myself (which is good, but not easy to do) yet, I've done so because I'm worth it! ”
Yes! You are worth it. Go get ‘em! (Nicely and calmly, of course, but firmly! 😊)1 -
@jessicakrall8 you are awesome! And thank you2

@jessicakrall8 You're right, Jessica. Sorry, I looked at the wrong week.1

@jessicakrall8 Hang in there Jessica! I love how you are focusing on the positives. Bravo on sticking up for yourself. It makes such a big difference in the way people treat us when we value ourselves and make it known.2

I was fortunate enough to live in Weymouth for two years in the 1970's, while in the USAF. I was stationed at a 3-man microwave repeater site out on Portland Bill, so I was given a housing and food allowance to live on the English economy. I lived in an English house, drove an English car (a Morris Mini Van), and shopped at English markets. The only thing that reminded me that I was in the USAF were the green fatigues I put on each morning for work. The rest of the time, I enjoyed living life in Dorset. I have many fond memories of that time. I am envious of your walking environment! 😀4 -
