This morning Brad and I started our day with pre-prepped yogurt and fruit bowls that he made the night before. Brad makes these epic fruit bowls.. he hand chops all the fruits, it's just lovely. So it was a nice start, but on the way into the office I'm cruising down the highway and Brad drops his phone between the seat and the middle console, tries to retrieve it, and proceeds to get his hand stuck. I ended up pulling over on the side of the road and had to ream on the seat to create a big enough gap for him to pull his hand out. It was like a tapered design, one where his hand could go down, but he couldn't reverse it to come back out. It sounds silly but we were actually super freaked out, we were there for a good 5 minutes trying to frantically pull his hand out and his wrist was swelling and he was worried he was losing his opportunity to get it out the more he pulled and aggravated it. It was to the point where I was thinking next steps and going to the bad place (is the fire department going to have to come?) So glad we released him!
Work was quite busy since I'm out of the office the next three days for corporate events. We are golfing with customers tomorrow and then Thursday we drive to Lloyd for another golf event. Friday we do field tours and then we come back - my coworker will drop me at a highway truck stop (LOL) on the way home where Brad will meet me and take me to the lake.
Tonight our supper was pre-made which was good because we got home late for work. We took our dog for a long walk around the neighborhood, did some outdoor chores, and then vegged with some TV for the first time in a long time.
Wish me luck on the course! First round of the season! I am hoping to get one more Peloton ride in before I'm away from home but I suspect two rounds of golf back to back for a girl who doesn't golf that frequently is likely going to be enough. We'll see how I feel tomorrow!6 -
Exercise:
6/5 - 4,438 steps
6/6 - 6,171 steps, 31 minutes Peloton, 10 minutes strength3 -
@CarolAnnM2 I'm sorry about your boss' wife. OH's step father had a stroke last year and he was pretty healthy (I would say healthier than I am) - we think it was caused by stress. I try to keep it in mind and reaffirm that none of the things I'm stressing about are worth risking my health over.
@EvMakesChanges @micki48 an old personal trainer had the fat and muscle 5lb replicas. The muscle was smaller and more pleasant to look at/hold for sure. Maybe I should get one of each as paperweights?
@ashleycarole86 I hope your Mom gets sorted soon. That's a lot to have to deal with.
@jugar you'll have to start on the house plants next!
Happy birthday @micki48 I hope you have a great day, and the cake is as good as you remember. I've had really good experiences freezing cake - if you wrap it in cling film/saran wrap, then pop it in a food bag, it'll keep for ages in the freezer.
I am really struggling so far this week. The decorating was hard work but pretty much there, with a few bits to do yesterday and carpet fitting today. On Monday evening, OH tested positive for Covid-19. We've made it through the last two years fine and bam. It's hit him really hard too, comes and goes in waves, and it seems to have come on extremely quickly. I have tested (twice) negative and have no symptoms, so I ran my errands yesterday. The carpet fitting has been postponed until next Wednesday, and I am disappointed. The positive is that I don't need to rush with the finishing touches like cleaning the window frames, putting blinds up etc.
My anxiety is back up but the urges to binge haven't been as strong as they were on Sunday. I've consumed more calories than I needed whilst also making some positive choices to not eat something or to stop eating when satisfied etc. Our plans for the coming weekend are cancelled, so assuming I don't come down with Covid-19 myself, I'll be cleaning/tidying at home, and hoping to put a good few hours in at the allotment. Our new bed has been delivered (it's in the garage) so I will see about getting rid of the old one.
I'm back at work today, and two (important/big) things that should have been done whilst I was off do not appear to be done. Today's forecast is currently moody with a strong chance of stroppiness, so I am going to take 5 before a meeting and see if I can't reset - without eating the brownie waiting for me downstairs!6 -
@DD265 I love the mood forecast. Well done.
@CarolAnnM2 so sorry to hear about your co-worker's wife. Definitely scary.
I didn't drink enough water yesterday so I will try to be better today, and I only got 4000 steps and 7 flights of stairs since it was so rainy and all the landscape work has stopped for the week. This past weekend I was hitting 11k steps and over 40 flights of stairs up and down. My joints are enjoying the day off! Back at hockey tonight with only one game on the schedule so it should be fun without tipping over to exhaustion. Later on this summer we plan to install a hot tub to ease the sore muscles but there's still a lot of heavy work to prep the space it will be installed before that dream can be realized. *sigh* Someday!4 -
@DD265 Sorry to hear OH is sick. I totally understand the feeling of disappointment in getting it after avoiding it for so long. Brad and I had the same feelings back in March. Good luck in avoiding catching it yourself... fingers mega crossed for you!
@PlaneMonkey Fun about the hot tub.. we certainly love ours! We haven't been in much lately as time has felt limited but I'm always glad we have the option.
6/7 exercise:
15329 steps
Just having my coffee and then it's time to get ready for golf! Logged into work to do a few things as well. Should get lots of steps with the golf round!5 -
@jugar I am going to weigh in tomorrow.
I was up half a pound which makes ZERO since. I am hoping it is water retention. We went to the zoo and it was 96 when left!!! If it is still up tomorrow, I will accept it...and probably cry. I have been doing amazing with my food. I haven't been snacking. I had tacos on our date night, but I was intentionally low that day and the next day, and yesterday.
@micki48 Happy Birthday!!!!

So yesterday was a really good day, almost... I got snacky at night, I tried to just have pickles, but I had a few triscuits also. The good part, was they fit in my calories for the day. and I accomplished all the goals I had set for myself.
Today is going to be the same, maybe with less evening snacks.
So you all know I got a new job about 3 months ago... I am so glad I took this job, there was something in my gut that told me this was the right place. Well, this morning the owner called me and asked me to pay everyone an extra 1k to help with the rising costs of just about everything, this is in addition to him allowing us to fill up our gas tanks here at the yard once a month. He really, honestly cares about his employees, and it shows, aside from me, the last employee that was hired here, was 6 years ago (someone retired) - the average employee has been here for 25 years or more.
Anyway, hope you have a great day !

@micki48 Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy the day
@PlaneMonkey I would die for a hot tub somewhere in my future real estate situations
@Gidgitgoescrazy I often run into the nighttime snacking issue. I'm starting to try a 9pm cutoff or earlier for simply 'no more eating today' (although it's going on 8pm and I haven't had dinner yet!)
Speaking of snacks, I was over my goal yesterday but that's okay. I can't expect to be under perfectly every day. I'm also really trying to stop the restrict/binge cycle by saying "it's a new day, you shouldn't overreact to being over calories yesterday, just stay the course"
I just did my workout for the day which was a SWEATY 36 minutes of full body work. Oh baby. I'm thinking I may have a smaller dinner than planned because when I really workout hard, I tend to have less appetite - anyone else? But if I have salad leftover, that gives me a good place to start tomorrow night anyways.
I'm going to try to get outside to read in my hammock before all the daylight is gone. I got totally wrapped up in job search/resume refining/interview today, don't know where the time went. But good news, my interview went well and I'm moving onto the next round. Not 100% sure this is the role I'm looking for but time will tell.5 -
That is some wonderful Wednesday packed with news! I hope it is a wonderful birthday for you Michele @micki48 with lots of hugs from everyone, a wonderful cake (with someone else taking away the leftovers!), and knowing how loved you are.
Hugs flying off to @DD265 - take those deep breaths, keep well, and hopefully you'll be sleeping in your new bed and stepping onto the new carpet soon. I hope your OH feels better quickly, too
@Gidgitgoescrazy Yes! Pickles and triscuits - sounds good. Your new job sounds like the kind of place everyone wishes they worked. It makes such a difference to have kindness coming your way instead of pressure, competition, blame, and all the other toxic things that can happen. Good move!
@KellyBgetsfit fingers crossed for your weigh-in! No crying, I hope - you are deep into this experiment, and feel like you are hitting your food just right. Keep on going, adjusting small things to see what effect that might have (more water? less salt? different macro balance?) and you'll get there! Hugs going your way too.
I have had a good day - lots of steps getting the garden completely finished and ready for what looks like a week of rain coming our way I also had a couple of long conversations today - catching up with people I have not spoken with in way way too long. That felt fantastic. Now, hopping on the bike to finish off the day -- probably a shorter session than usual, it's late!
tally ho!2 -

Such an on point thought process!! Kudos to you. Congrats on moving to the new stage with the job interview.
@jugar I am sitting here deciding if I'll hop on the bike tonight despite being tired from golf, and your post might have just convinced me. Brad is out biking with a friend and he's not home yet, so it might be worth a quick session. I'll see what I decide.
Golf was fun. I played well and won the ladies long drive so I got a new hat with my pro shop money. I was a solid contributor to my team, so that felt good. A beer cart was going around but I kept it reasonable (I had to drive so I had no choice but I still made good selections) and I didn't go overboard with the food either.
Hitting the road at 7 a.m. for our 5 hour drive to Lloydminster so we can make it for the 2 p.m. golf tournament start up there. My hip sometimes gets a bit niggly after a round as I rotate through pretty hard I think... haven't played back to back rounds in forever so I can only assume tomorrow's performance won't be as good. Good thing it's just for fun

I was feeling snacky after I got home from hockey but I know my weigh in is tomorrow and I've been doing so well that I convinced myself to just go to bed.
So that's it. I made it. Diary is complete for the day and If I feel hungry later, I will have a glass of water. Done. I said it, so that's what will happen.
@Kali225 I'm the opposite when I exercise, I get more hungry. I'm basically never not hungry. My husband doesn't like to eat if it's hot outside but I have zero issues with even eating hot soup in the summer.
Mmmm food.... No! I'm already in bed. Good night everyone.
@micki48 I hope your birthday is wonderful.

@micki48 HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂 🥳 I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy yourself!
I am also on team evening snack 😋 When I plan my macros for the day I plan in order of meal importance: dinner, late night snack, after work snack, lunch and finally breakfast. I make little tweaks to get the numbers as close as possible. Since everything is planned I tend to stick to my planned evening snacks. I love to have sweet potato waffle fries from my airfryer with chicken. I also like crackers with avocado and berries.
@ashleycarole86 and @jugar I don't actually go to the store to clothes shop. I plan ahead and I order a bunch of stuff at once. Different sizes and colors. Then I try it all on and see how it works with what I already have. Then I send about 60%-70% of it back. Much more enjoyable than going to the store. Just warn your husband if he looks at the bank statement before the returns process!5 -
Today I am feeling like I am on the other side of this darn cold! Still don't have a lot of energy and not working out yet. I did finally get my detox diet day in today like my wellness coach wanted. I am hopeful to see some of the water weight come off because of it.
@KellyBgetsfit I am sorry you are not seeing your efforts reflected in the scale. When I started my recent program my scale moved the first week and then just really stayed stuck for a few weeks despite some very consistent on target days. I think some bodies are stubborn and don't just respond right away. They want to make sure you're serious and won't abandon the plan too soon. Hang in there. In the past your body has definitely done some recomposition that was much more dramatic than the scale seemed to indicate. Maybe that is what is happening 🤔
@DD265 Sending well wishes to your OH! Hope you do alright as well if you get sick 😷 Sounds like you have a lot going on.2 -

I held off on that late night snack and was satisfied with the extra glass of water (still so thirsty!!)
Guys this is the least I have weighed since before I began dating my husband a decade ago. It has been a year yoyo-ing between 190-198 and I have finally broken through to a lower decade and not immediately popped back up. I'm super excited.
Like last week, this is no time for celebration yet. I'm going to keep tracking and logging and carrying on with the manual labour around the property to keep the muscles burning. I'm gonna catch up to @ashleycarole86 someday!! Lol (not!)6 -
@PlaneMonkey you did make me giggle with your remarks about being able to eat no matter what the season - that's just like me! And I'm super happy about you getting to that under-190 milestone. Hurrah!
This morning I woke up feeling super nervous about a new workshop that I had to give (virtually). But it went really well, and I feel so much better now! I had a nice brunch afterwards and now I can take the time I need to prepare for another new complex session that I have to give on Monday afternoon.
Food intake so far this week has been really good, and I worked out Monday and Tuesday morning - then I went out for my forest walk yesterday. I was going to try going out for a walk this afternoon, but it's been pretty miserable for the past few hours and I won't walk in the rain. I'll just take today as a rest day.
Well, I suppose I ought to get to some household chores (while I'm still feeling so positive).

And there it is.
@conleywoods Thanks for the encouragement. I did take measurements at the beginning of June. Hopefully, you are right. I just feel like I had too many sweets over Mother's Day weekend, hit 150, and can't get it back down. I will keep trying.
@ashleycarole Sounds like fun. I noticed your back to the bottom of maintenance, way to go!!!
@planemonkey that is awesome!!! I am so proud of you. Keep working hard.
@yinxfed Nice job on your presentation, your eating, and your walking/workouts. Keep it up.5
