@Gidgitgoescrazy those pickle snacks sound amazing! Hope you have enough fridge space left. How goes the plank progress post surgery?
@jugar can I please push my weigh in until Friday this week? Hockey is a day later than usual and based on my current scale results, I'm going to want that extra sweat and exertion to help keep week 3 in the green.
@MoonlitMuse being denied telework is so infuriating! I hear ya!1 -
Happy Monday from Massachusetts! It is HOT down here but I got a ton of steps in already today. To make up for the miserable number yesterday... I got my dad down to the basement for 10 minutes on the exercise bike and some stretching (and resting!) while I practiced to entertain him. He is slipping more and more mentally, but he knows people, keeps cheerful, and we're trying to keep his muscles from disappearing. Not bad for 94.
@MoonlitMuse it is so good you are back, and I'm sorry to hear you have had so much hard stuff happening. Take your time, lots of deep breaths, and report your weight whenever it works for you.
@Gidgitgoescrazy that has to be the BEST fake excuse ever - had your eyebrows done. I have never heard of that kind of eyebrow job, so it must be serious stuff!! Enjoy all those pickles
Here is my last week -
Sunday - 10,259 + 45 bike
Monday - 12,648 + 45 bike
Tuesday - 16,303 + 30 bike
Wednesday - 10,934 + 45 Pilates + 30 bike
Thursday - 6053 + 25 Pilates
Friday - 6280 + 45 each Pilates and bike
Saturday - 11,744 + 15 Pilates
Guess which days were grant writing days with pelting down rain? If I'm too late, no worries!5 -

I'm only able to load photos on the mobile website, never in the app on my phone. Such a pain.1 -

Funny you mention the heat @jugar as I am a bit nervous for the Vegas heat!
Tonight after work Brad and I went for a couples massage. The timing was good once I got there as I had a super stressful day at work. I went all wound up and came out feeling amazing.
It's super rainy here, and Calgary is under a local state of emergency for flood risk. Hope it doesn't get too bad!
I wanted to bike today but work got in the way. I'm trying to prioritize sleep as well so I am choosing that, especially after I got all mellow with the massage!5 -

I'm tired today - this (remote) meeting is rather dull which isn't helping. Hope everyone is OK!
My head is less full of gunk, though on the rare occasions I've been outside for a couple of minutes I regret it almost immediately. The event we were going to on Friday has been pushed to Saturday and I'm hoping to be back to 100% for that.
Our mattress and carpet have been delivered, but fitting won't be until next week. The shop owner is going on holiday, so if we hadn't taken delivery, the carpet/mattress would've been trapped in store. We have stuff everywhere; I'm constantly standing on stuff that shouldn't be there, or wanting to use a surface only for items that don't belong to be in the way. It's driving me bonkers, but hopefully won't be for too much longer.
I stayed within my calorie goal yesterday and I did weigh in this morning. I'm on track to keep today under my goal as well. I think it'll take a few days to get back into the swing of it - Saturday's event is BBC Gardener's World Live but also BBC Good Food Live, so I will be allowing more calories that day - but starting well, considering I'm ill!6 -
Was up early this morning so I hopped on the Peloton before my 5:30 alarm was set to go off... day is off on a much better foot!
There is SO much rain here... good thing the +15 network in Calgary between downtown buildings will allow me to walk inside at lunch.

Tuesday Weigh-In

Not pretty but not surprising - I ended up staying an extra day at my Mom's, which was a really nice surprise for her, but also meant more "home" eating mode. The party was really fun. I'm confident this 4+ lb gain isn't real weight, just bloat and water. I have a good plan for meals the rest of the week. Only hiccup is a cookout at my cousin's house on Saturday, but typically grilled food options aren't too over the top for calories. We'll see.
Hoping to get back to regular exercise and yoga but it is HOT out there!6 -
What a day!
We had the most perfect weather possible today, so I got a great dose of vitamin D, had a potluck with some old friends from my home town, a walk with my dad, and some heavy duty cleaning of his back deck. The potluck had enough food for us all to have survived a week, but at least there were plenty of healthy options - and I stayed away from the dessert except for a big bowl of fresh fruit.
Heading home tomorrow - it will be good to get back to my big garden and my own practice and exercise room.
Quick update - weigh-ins through Wednesday:

Evening all!
The rain continues. I met Brad for a quick walk at lunch, and as soon as we got home I hopped on the bike again. I am trying to ride ahead a bit on my program since we're away so much next week. I felt good - 75 minutes total between my morning session and my evening session. Just having a quick bite after making lunches and then I'm off to bed... trying to get a minimum of 7 hours sleep!5 -
Oooooh! I just noticed that @YinxFed and @CarolAnnM2 are both up to 3 weeks in a row with a loss. You could make it to all 4 weeks in the green this month! Keep up the wonderful work As more of you hit that magic 3rd week, we could be heading for a good number with a full green month. Yess!7

@eggfreak I don't work at all in the summer. Our pay is spread out over 12 months and I get a little bonus at the end of the month. I am ready for a break!
I am getting my food back in order but I have nothing left for workouts. My littlest guinea pig is not doing well. He has developed some teeth problems which he shouldn't have at only 8 months old. He has very good care so it's not caused by improper care. I have a vet visit this Thursday but I don't think the outlook is good by any means. He is hungry and he can eat pellets on his own. I can feed him diced cucumber but I have to get them on his back teeth. The middle kiddo and I have been particularly teary-eyed lately. I was definitely looking for a distraction and was able to finish another course for my masters degree. I just have one more course to finish by the end of July to be on track. The assignment definitely lends itself to my strengths so maybe I can finish quickly.
My plan is to finish the work week and do well with food. I will have a day and a half of training next week, then I am totally done. I want to get my workouts back on track this weekend.8 -
@jugar I do love a fruit salad; shame they're quite expensive to buy/make!
@ashleycarole86 sleep is hard. I think it's a good thing to prioritise though, especially when you're so good at getting your exercise in.
@conleywoods fingers crossed for your guinea pig - hopefully the vet can help.
I went a little over my calorie goal yesterday because my lunch was leftovers from the night before and more calorific than I might otherwise go for - I have yesterday's tea for lunch today, too, so will watch that. I didn't binge, and I am steadily feeling better. I'm losing track of the days of the week, but I think it's Wednesday and am hopeful I'll be 'OK' from Friday!5 -
Full moon? =yesterday was insane, work chaos and major juggling and pill management at home - mum started a 2 week palliative radiation treatment to try to reduce the lesion affecting her sciatic nerve. If I weren't moving so much - garden watering, up & down the stairs, etc...I would not be keeping the crap I've been eating barely in check. Now the wonders that would happen if I DID keep the food choices in check. I'm going to make a renewed effort - next time I dive for freezer - grab my garden scissors and go do some deadheading - in fact I'll hang a pair on the door of the freezer - or a photo!
@DD265 have a great time w/ the bbc gardener's world live - that program has been a huge balm for me this past year (all the seasons, front to back, back to front). firsts for me in my garden this year are a Meyer Lemon tree (about 6 fruits growing well), a fig tree and also Chayote squash.6 -

I worked way to hard this week to have maintained/slight gain. I am officially frustrated.6 -
Hi everyone! We finally got to the flower show and it was so so hot we could hardly enjoy it. Plus I had my granddaughter with us. She was excellent, but I was a bit worried about tin that heat. We did not stay long. We did get to the Butterfly House and she loved that.
We have been having fun doing things we haven’t done in two years, but my food is not on track at all. I have so many things I need to focus on. I know it’s best to pick one at a time. But which one???? I’ll get there. Hopefully, I get it under control before I gain all I’ve lost. I know living with my daughter’s family doesn’t help me be good. Snackers that they are.
I think I may start weighing daily to keep me in check. Even that is sometimes hard to remember as a little 4 year old often wakes me in the morning and then it’s on.
The heat/rain have been intense so thoughts to those dealing with that. Those heading out to vacations, have a great time. To those hating the scale, I’m there with you. To those fighting sickness, hoping you are feeling better soon. I’m still coughing a bit. Never was Covid. But it sure was a bad cold.
I’m inspired reading all of your posts. So here I am walking in circles, reading posts and finally posting myself.
Thank you all for being part of this group. Wherever you are on this journey, know you contribute to our group wealth of knowledge and experience.
Now, off to drink some water 💦

Happy Wednesday!
I love the grit in your posts @DD265 @eggfreak @conleywoods @micki48 and others I may not have mentioned! That determination is a great theme song.
And the frustration @KellyBgetsfit - that is hard stuff, but let its good side help you out. You are frustrated, which makes unrest, which keeps you going. The frustration is from doing the same thing and having it not work - so let that unrest help you find something to change. Do something a bit different and see if that works. If not, pick another one. You'll find it!
6 -
Great point @jugar and it gets to @micki48 saying she wants to pick something to focus on. We are all here testing things for sure, and in feelings of overwhelm, it's a great strategy to start small and build from there. Wait until your small step is a fully formed habit, and then add some more.
Remember, there are so many folks not even trying... and I remember what it was like to be in that space for such a long time. Whatever you're working for, it's worth it! Let it be a postiive experience as best you can and be kind to yourselves. To your point @jugar ... I hope those feeling frustrated find a way to use that as fuel for your goals.
6/14 exercise:
10,194 steps + 77 minutes Peloton2 -
@DD265
You are so right that sleep is hard!
I am actually a decent sleeper once I get there, but for me it's making the right amount of time for it. I feel like there are too many things to do before I get there, but prioritizing everything else over sleep isn't the right thing for health either.
Then, when I start to hone in on that and focus on it, it makes me feel a bit stressed about the whole thing. The second I say I want to sleep x hours... then I start to panic if something comes up to get in the way.
A work in progress for sure.4 -
I'm trying to climb back on the horse but man, I feel like I just stepped out of a time warp (minus Tim Curry ). So here's where I'm at:
PW: 139.4

I didn't do crap last week, so an increase was expected, plus I may still be retaining some fluid since I'm just coming off my cycle. Here's the cliff notes version...
Monday: Took the day off to go across the mountains and take our puppy for his meet and greet at the daycare/boarding place we plan on using. About 10-15 minutes into the drive, by dash lights up like a GD christmas tree. We tried to troubleshoot, found some not ideal causes, got it home and used our code reader. Sure enough - transmission codes. Apparently my year of Crosstrek has known issues with the CVT so Subaru extended the powertrain warranty to 10 years or 100k miles. I'm at 122k so evidently I'm SOL. I spent the rest of the day trying to figure out how to get it 2-3 hrs away to the nearest dealer.
Tuesday: My son's 15th birthday...I spent it working with my supervisor and IT trying to get set up for telework...then learned that my grandpa passed away. It wasn't a super great day
Weds: Spent all day doing mandatory trainings, meetings, and program plannings only to then be told that I can't telework and have to use a vacation day instead (after I worked all day)
Fri-Sun: Blessed reprieve from the world. I caught a ride with a judge down to Choteau, MT for the yoga fest in which I did a class during every.single.timeslot. I taught two classes and the weekend was awesome
So - I'm still just winging everything at this point and trying to ride the wave of suck until it's over6 -
@MoonlitMuse
My condolences for the loss of your grandpa.
The work situation sounds very frustrating. It sounds like someone didn't set appropriate expectations, how could they have you work a whole day and then decide to identify it doesn't count? I feel for you there... it might be one thing to say "hey, maybe we weren't clear, but next time..." but how they chose to engage with you sounds super frustrating.
Glad the yoga fest was so restorative.1 -
@jugar I will need a break from weighing in this Friday. It just been too much lately and I have no idea where I am weight wise.4
-
Man, this week is just flying by. I’m very busy at work and covering for the boss. His wife took a turn for the worse today and he is not doing well. I’m able to stick to the program though 👍🏻4

Happy Wednesday!
I enjoyed my early morning aqua-robics class and then did several batches of laundry (mini-machine with spinner so, time intensive but wee loads) at home before going back to work. One of our Physical Therapists celebrated her birthday today with an ice cream party. I chose a small serving of ice cream and small orange soda (with 2 T vanilla ice cream) for that lovely “creamsicle” beverage of yore. I ate a cashew-carrot soup for lunch (188 calories) and was happy with that,
My sister (@jugar) stopped by our place en route from visiting Dad in Massachusetts as she wended her way back home to Canada. As always, great visit, even if brief!
Have a great night, y’all❣️
