Seeing @bonnie_red 's post about travelling this summer reminded me to mention that I will be on holiday for 3 weeks starting in just over a week. We're going to Virginia to see our son and daughter in law.
So next Sunday will be my last weigh in before we travel. However, I still plan to record my steps and exercise while We're away, I just won't be weighing in until we get back.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!6 -
Happy Sunday to everyone! We're the #2 team this week, so we can bask in our successes and try to build on them this week. Well done!
I have to post this - the newest resident of our orchard. I might never mow again...

@lauren_989 I go through phases where I weigh in daily, then other times 2× a week. If I feel like I am developing a negative relationship with the scale (it makes me grumpy) I cut back. Right now, I am weighing in daily and the scale hates me, but I do not feel discouraged.
@kali225 sorry for the travel troubles! Enjoy your trip.
@graceoho999 welcome back!
I don't know what is happening with the scale, but it keeps going up!!!! I know how well I am doing, so I'm not super discouraged, but I wish it would reflect my hard work. My biggest summer hurdle is snacking, but I have doing so well with cucumbers, carrots, and a fruit. My calories are 200-300 lower then the school year. My steps are a little lower, BUT they are more intentional, like taking a walk.6 -

@jugar beautiful fawn!
I definitely, without a shadow of doubt, have hayfever. I also, definitely, have covid; tested positive this morning with the thickest, darkest line I've seen on any test. I could be asymptomatic for covid, because the hayfever symptoms are so strong and get way worse after visiting the allotment, plus OH basically had bad flu and I have congestion/itchiness, but will be isolating for 5 days, and I've felt rough enough today to spend almost the entirety of it on my kitten.
We did nip down to the allotment, knowing we wouldn't run into anybody, to water the garlic mainly as it's still struggling. We found some carrot seedlings showing through and my brief happy dance was probably the most energy I have burnt all day! The baby blackbirds are gone and I suspect food for something as I don't think they'll have fledged so fast (and there was a corpse in the nest) which is sad, but it does mean we can work in the top half of the plot without feeling guilty and start preparing it for a greenhouse.6 -
@DD265 Sorry COVID got ya bud.. but I know from experience it's so hard to keep one partner from getting it when the other succumbs to it. Hope it passes uneventfully...
Have I mentioned we are off to Vegas in less than a week? I think it's just setting in now... two of Brad's best friends from Ontario are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary down there and they've invited us to join them. I don't know their travel style and Vegas can be super indulgent but it can also be great because of how many steps you cover... it will be my first time being down there in the middle of the year so we'll see how I manage the heat!
It's super rainy here at the trailer today, bad thunderstorms, so we are hunkered down. It's 2:15 and I've taken less than 1000 steps. Yikes! It's harder to walk here in the rain as well because the roads are mostly dirty and it gets super muddy. In any event, I have to pop by a friend's houes tonight to let his dogs out so I will likely walk there and back so my goal is still to hit my 10,000 steps regardless. I also want to ride the bike so I may run into the "trying to do too much in a condensed timeframe" syndrome I sometimes suffer from but we'll see!
I'm on call for work again this weekend and it's been another super stressful one.. put in almost double the time I normally would, so that hasn't been super fun. Brad has been looking after me otherwise so I've managed to keep the stress down.

Wow, a third and a first! Thank you all for helping me get there. I’m hoping tomorrow’s weigh-in will help keep me there (I’ve been good 😊)6

We are all fantastic!!! That was a good week, and even those who did not lose much helped keep the team on 54% green 2 weeks in a row. Week 3 is always a challenge, so hopefully we can still keep a good green %.
I spent many hours in the car today travelling down to my dad's for a few days, so my steps are nothing to brag about. I was happy that every time I thought of a treat to stop for, the more I thought about it, the less I wanted it. I am usually a sucker for goodies while travelling, but not today! And a salad for dinner, even if with some wine, came out ok for the day. Tomorrow back to more exercise.

Off we go into week 3!5 -
@jugar i am ok to jump back in. I have been on keto for a week now and I am finally starting to loose weight.
My starting weight now is 105.5kg. I will just weigh in next Sunday. Thanks4 -
@jugar Have a good visit with your dad. Hope he's doing okay?
I did my Functional Threshold Power retest on the bike tonight and it was the first time the result didn't go up. Afterwards, I calculated my power to weight ratio- it had stayed exactly the same. So while my toralt average output was only slightly down, my result stayed the same because of the weight I lost since my last test. There is also no way I can forever test higher and life ebbs and flows so it was good practice to have a result that wasn't what I was hoping for. One of my Peloton groups is starting the summer challenge tomorrow so my goal will be to build my power for a retest at the end to hopefully see my power to weight ratio improve. As I'm not looking to drop any more weight the only way to do that will be to truly increase my power.
I committed to 10K steps this week and I'm just short but I also committed to sleep and I have to pick one. I don't need more exercise after the bike intensity, so sleep it is. I haven't been getting enough quality sleep lately and that is something I want to work on.
See you tomorrow folks. @jugar will you have steps for last week with your travel or no?5 -
I had a really off food day today. I am feeling officially over my cold so today was the first day I actually felt hungry in awhile. Food has been off for a week now. Nothing terrible but I am back on track to hit my macro goals each day. I know it's going to be tricky because it's the last week of school and I know my husband wants to celebrate with food. I'm going to plan ahead and stick to my plan. I walked yesterday and did an easy pilates reformer workout today. They were ok so I am back to regular workouts this week. Just resting as I need.
@jugar I love the fawn! I am always looking for one on my walks. So far we have seen baby rabbits and turkeys. We also found a random Robbin' s egg in the grass far from anything a nest could be on.
@lauren_989 My husband and I are enjoying our sauna blankets. They work really well, clean up is minimal and they store away on a shelf in neat little bags. We can make it about 45 minutes and when the timer goes off it feels great to rip open the velcro and climb out!
@ashleycarole86 Sounds like another busy trip for you coming up. I'm definitely a more mellow vacation person so Vegas is never on my wish list. Hope you guys enjoy yourself.
@jugar Enjoy your trip with your dad!5 -

Less of a gain than I thought. I really do prefer weighing daily and might go back to that despite what the therapist says. I NEED to lose weight for my health. I know my cholesterol is high, I know my stress levels are probably the worst they've ever been, and my BMI puts me at obese, so I feel like a ticking time bomb.
I was planning to reset this week and work to a calorie goal again. I feel like death warmed up this morning, but I'm going to try my best for breakfast, and go from there.5 -

Monday again - got permission to work from home today - no one else available, and mum is not up to keeping an eye/ear out for dad. Grateful work has been very flexible thru all this. And thanks to you all for your support & understanding as I went A.W.O.L....it really has been insanely busy.
@jugar ...thinking of you and your drive...I made the rare move of pulling in to McDonald's the other day, just for med.fries, but given a minute of waiting, I pulled out again. Hope your dad's doing okay.
@DD265 sorry to read of your Covid but have been so happy you've got an allotment to tend. I just managed to clear the weeds from my veg garden and got some longsuffering potted veggies in yesterday.
@ashleycarole86 have a good time in Vegas...but get your sleep in Hope things have settled down with your mom's AFIB.
@conleywoods yay for the last week of school! are you able to take the summer off? or do you also do summer school? I hope you're free to just relax, enjoy your kids, read, exercise, and not have school stress.
all for now...everyone have a great Monday!

Happy Monday, This weekend wasn't too bad. I didn't do much at all, Friday, I got my eyebrows done, so I can't exercise for 2 weeks... haaaa haaa, I will exercise anyway, because what I do, is definitely not what they mean. So I won't mess anything up. I had combo brows done, that's where they tattoo and microblade them... Being vain is hard, not to mention expensive.. LOL - I feel like I look like charley chaplain right now, because they start off much darker than they will end up, and I'm just not used to them...
Anyway, so I took the doggo for a walk yesterday, He is 100lbs and pulls, and I haven't been able to walk him for months, because of the neck/back surgery, so I've had a dog walker walking him... Well he walks like a dream now, I was so happy.. so that means many more walks for us Although, I am still a little nervous, because if he sees something and jerks me, it could hurt, he's not a small dog.. lol So I think I will not try to walk him by myself, and stick to when the hubby can walk with me for now..
I prepped all my snacks and meals for the week, Costco has these single serving pickles packs, they have regular dill, and then the spicy ones, but they only carry them online, not in store. I bought 3 cases of each, so I am the current owner of 72 single serving pickle snacks, my refrigerator looks like a pregnant lady should live there... But they are yummy and only 15 calories per snack...
This weeks goals are:
Monday - 10 min video, 10 min yoga
Tuesday - 10 min Video, 10 min hiit
Weds - 10 min video, 10 min yoga
Thurs - 10 min Video , 10 min hiit
Friday - Long walk in the woods
Saturday - TBD - I am hoping to go to an Irish Festival in Pa
Sunday - Prep & Rest day !
Have a great day !

Hey All! So sorry I didn't check in last week. It was a doozy of a week. Transmission problems, a death in the family, being denied telework - it just wasn't good. However, I did have a great time at the yoga fest! I'm going to check in with my weight tomorrow because I have to get new scale batteries and I'm still in recovery mode....5
