Excited to be part of this group and be motivated by all the team members to get healthy. I’ve been trying unsuccessfully for a while to lose weight and I’m hoping this challenge will give me more encouragement to reach my goals.6

It isn't something the group does, it's just something I do. It's just a shorthand to identify the types of exercise I've done. I was annoyed by how my news feed would always say something very general about my exercise. So was a friend, who started posting a breakdown using emojis to indicate the activity. I liked that idea and found some emojis to use for my activities.
So, for example, today my news feed might say (Mondays are a heavy exercise day for me):
burned 1,833 calories doing 238 minutes of cardio exercises, including "Aerobics, general"
And here in fact is what I did:
🧘♂️20 min; 💪26 min; 💗55 min; 🤽♂️50 min; 🏊♂️900 yds/30 min; 🚶♂️3.17 mi/57 min; 👣12,321 steps
And here is what those emojis stand for:- 🧘♂️yoga and/or pilates - did 20 minutes of yoga today
- ☯ t'ai chi - not today
- 💪 strength training - did 26 minutes of strength training today
- 💗 cardio - did 55 minutes of general cardio today (a Silver Sneakers class at my gym)
- 🤽♂️ aquafit - did 50 minutes of water aerobics today (another class at my gym)
- 🏊♂️ swimming - swam 900 yards in 30 minutes today
- 🚴♂️ cycling - not today
- 🚶♂️ walking - walked 3.17 miles in 57 minutes today
- 👣 steps - got in ~12,321 steps today.
I keep track of all this in a spreadsheet. I'm handy with formulas, so I am able to create various summaries of the things I track. I have an expanded version of this list of activities, but when I do a lot of various activities, the expanded version won't fit on one line:
