Finally back into the 180s! Barely! I've been trying to track about 80% of the time - and it's clearly paying off. Haha. I just need to accept the fact that I'll be calorie counting for the rest of my life1 -
Oh Ashley @ashleycarole86 I can't believe that I forgot to give you my step and exercise stats - I'm so sorry! This week has been completely manic for me. No excuses, I will start to include this information with my weigh-ins. So starting tomorrow!1

Guys, I don't know what to say! This week has been so busy and I've somehow managed to miss coming into this wonderful community completely. I promise to do better from tomorrow.
My self-imposed pushup challenge has continued, albeit not every day, but most days. This morning I managed 8 good form pushups. And then I did my planned workout (Caroline Girvan's Iron series).
I've given up my Saturday job at the cafe and today I relished spending the day doing whatever I liked - the first Saturday in a long time. And tomorrow will be more of the same, I expect. Getting to enjoy my entire weekend again is joyful - and I genuinely need the rest!
I will be back tomorrow for my weigh-in.

This was a good Saturday - I'm glad to hear about your good one @YinxFed - giving up the café job was an excellent idea. Congrats on keeping up the push-up self challenge!
I saw my closest friend for the first time in months today. She has been in Paris and New York working for the UN to get the education part of the tech summit and the annual general meeting organised. Needless to say, she is exhausted! It felt so good to sit and talk for a couple of hours. Then I took a walk in the woods for the first time in over a week as well - it has rained so much this week, there was no way to enjoy a walk without slogging through the stream overflow, mud, wet branches everywhere - but today it was sunny and the ground was not too terrible. Good practice jumping from hummock to hummock or rock to rock in a lot of places, though! And I discovered a mushroom choir with a very enthusiastic soloist:6 -

@jugar OMG your little mushroom friend is adorable. Glad you got to catch up with your best friend as well. So good for the soul.
@YinxFed Your Saturday just for YOU to soak up whatever you wanted to do sounds amazing. No worries about the steps, my week was nuts this week too and I just got the week 2 report out myself! I hope to get week 3 out much quicker next week but work is seriously kicking my you know what!
@kellie_erin Welcome back to the 180's. It's a great feeling to return back to a place you were and to know your hard work got you there. I too have accepted calorie counting as a part of my reality. The good, the bad, and the ugly. At least I know where I stand against real data
@micki48 Build off that momentum!! It may not all be real, but it's got you on a great start for another green week! Your week 2 step consistency was unmatched by anyone else on the team! Keep up the great work.
I have been trying to rejuvenate mentally this weekend as I am not well. I have gotten my 10,000 steps today, so that's good. There's been the overuse of food/alcohol to cope so I'm going to have to keep an eye on that.
Exercise catch-up:
9/20: 5918 steps + 46 minutes Peloton
9/21: 13981 steps
9/22: 8481 steps
9/23: 4609 steps4 -
Thanks for the report @ashleycarole86 ! It was one of those rare weeks when you are on vacation relaxing and I was trying to get the exercise stats up. This week won't be quite so pretty - and soon you'll be back to your usual amazing numbers.
LAST CALL for WEEK 3! We're almost there.

Good morning WaistAways!
Back from my vacation, 180.8, lol. I'm hoping I can make that number go down somewhat before my next weigh in. I'll be happy if I'm under 179 for the month, which seems like it might be doable for this week. We'll see.
@jugar your mushrooms look so neat!
@Yinxfed green is green!
Have a great day everyone!4 -
Happy Sunday!
We did not have the most stellar of week 3s but we're all set for a better week 4, right? We have two amazing people who have lost all 3 weeks so far and might make it to a fully green month:

Ugh. I saw an amazing number on Friday. I thought, hey I might make it to the 140s by the end of the month after all. Then, I had 1 cheat meal Friday night - a half order of nachos, which I didn't finish and 2 beers. The scale is still up 2 pounds.😭 Why is it so easy to aging, so hard to lose??? I think I will still see green on Wed, but I'm not holding out for 140s.3

Good morning WaistAways!
True to my promise to myself, I'm checking in here again in the morning before work, like I used to. That was a good habit that got me very far.
Weight 180.6, so down 1/5 of a pound from yesterday. Gotta keep that energy. And luckily, at work, I drink way more water than I do at home.
My breakfast, lunch, and snacks are packed, logging them now, and dinner is planned already- sausages with summer squash (my husband tried a new variety this year that grows very large. He's not awake for me to ask, but google lens tells me they're rampicante).
Needless to say, I'm eating squash with my chicken for lunches every day this week.
Tonight is my return to the gym! A pole class and a choreographed dance routine, very excited. I'm going to take it a little easy, listen to my body, just in case I need to take it a little slower after having covid.
Have a great day everyone!

@PlaneMonkey
For t-spine, we had a pole across the shoulders with arms straight, and did rotations first with the hips/head fixed forward, then allowing everything to move. We did this with the 20kg bar as well as the broom handle. We also had my arms crossed with hands on shoulders, (like hugging myself) and elbows up, seated, to try and keep the hips fixed, again doing rotations. We did these with resistance bands too, and although Craig held the other end, I'm pretty sure I could DIY it at home.
For hips/glutes, we did one foot on the weight bench, stepping up with the other, then holding the back leg straight whilst lowering down very slowly to touch the floor. The aim is to keep ankle/knee/hip in alignment at all times. The second exercise is a split squat, where the back foot is up on the weight bench, but only using it for balance; the front leg should take all the weight.
I had a good weekend, felt nice and quiet. OH worked Saturday-day and Sunday afternoon/evening, so I enjoyed quite a bit of time to myself. Between the allotment and cross stitch, I felt quite busy, but it was very relaxed for the most part. Despite digging a full strawberry bed yesterday (3.8x1.2m), I feel good today. Planning to use that energy to get a few smaller jobs out of the way later, as OH is working again this evening.5 -

😃 💃🏼
This past week I ate the healthiest I have ever eaten - I needed to stay within my calories but I also needed to ensure my body was given all the nutrients it needed for recovery. I included fruit, vegetables, protein, dairy and whole grains each and every day. 🎶🎵Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now🎵🎶
CONGRATULATIONS @Kali225 @lauren_989 @kellie_erin Waistaways Week 3 Winners!7 -
@CupcakeCrusoe those squash are cool! I hope they taste as amazing as they look. Great job on getting all the meal prep done - we'll all be right over
@DD265 So glad you're feeling better! Thanks for the exercise descriptions - those sound really useful. Happy strawberry dreams
@CarolAnnM2 You and your new hip seem to be rocking life and recovering like pros. Keep it up!
Uh oh - the chimney sweep just drove up. The annual "let's make a big mess while making your chimneys all clean"! What fun3 -
Happy Monday (9/26, my OH’s birthday)!
My daughter helped put together the requested Tiramisu after I went to work this morning. Wowza! It’s some tasty. It’s good that I prefer other types of desert more than that one, or I’d be over my weekly caloric allotment by 10:00 tonight!
I’m heading to bed shortly and plan to take a walk after my haircut tomorrow afternoon.
@jugar the enthusiastic mushroom singers are amazing! I’ll be sure Moni sees ‘em!
More soon. Sleep well, everyone❣️
