Good morning waistaways!
PW: 180.8
CW: 176.3
I was exposed to covid Thursday and got sick Saturday, but it has been very mild, and I will hopefully be testing negative in time for our Disney trip. I've kept the plague away from my family, even if it means I've been away from the computer where I like to do my MFP posts, so sorry for my absence!
Well done everyone!7 -

Wow! This is a serious drop for me. Once I went to work and quit freaking out...the stress melted away and so did the pounds. I also hit my macros daily except for my one day I take off. I also was up at 5 AM every work day for my morning workouts. I took one rest day a week and then got walks in on the weekend. Feeling really good about my efforts and definitely easier with the work/school routine going.
Consistency does wonders.. as does letting go of stress and letting your hard work pave the way. Way to execute... good job girl!!!4 -
@CupcakeCrusoe
Feel better soon... really hope your Disney trip is not impacted!! Glad to hear your symptoms are mild
Great weigh-in, but with you being sick I won't over celebrate that as there are more important things for you to be looking after right now
@Melissa0711 Nice job as well!! Glad you're enjoying the group... we love having the energy!!4 -

Thanks for the patience with the delayed week 1 step report all!
We are back on the road headed East. Brad is at the wheel for now and we just got off the ferry from Vancouver Island... we are driving as far as Penticton tonight as we are planning to spend tomorrow in wine country before we finish the drive home on Sunday.
Both Brad and I are 1) having a blast 2) admittedly fine to get back to routine when it's time.
Things got a little more off plan when we got to the Island as we ended up spending more time with Brad's cousin and some of her friends than we thought. Our schedule sort of changed and we were on someone else's plan. It was lovely and we made great memories but good food choices and exercise were not top of mind.
There will always be times like that - the key is what I do after it!!
Pinching myself multiple times at how lovely this vacation has been and how thankful I am to be on it with my best bud and lovely husband.
He has a business trip the first 3 days we get home, so it's really nice just to soak up the last few days of non-stop time together!

@ashleycarole86 Thanks for the step report and the vacation report! Two in one day - almost sounds like work... I am so glad you are having a wonderful time out there. It all sounds beautiful.
I had a lovely day out in the garden today - slowly getting most of it put to bed for the winter. Picked the last of the peppers and eggplants, more to finish off tomorrow. All the tomatoes should come in before the rain gets going for the whole week, or so they say.

@CupcakeCrusoe I hope you have negative test so no delays in your vacation. Glad you aren't feeling to sick.
@Melissa0711 So glad you are with us! What a great weigh in as well. Logging is definitely a tedious task but so necessary to get those results.
@melissa0711 and I work with the same wellness coach but we haven't ever met in
person.
@jugar still bringing in the bounty of the garden! We are starting to get chilly at night here too.
@ashleycarole86 I think you're a very dedicated co captain to do a step report on vacation! Sounds like you guys are having a great time.3 -

Ugh.
So some facts about this weeks weight. My FIL is here and as he is 83 and unsteady on his feet, we put him in the master suite. This means I weighed on different scales in a guest bathroom on small tiled floor, so not a flat surface. It is also an hour before I usually weigh and we had Mexican last night. Facts not excuses - excuses are what I appear to use for not doing exercise 🤷🏼♀️
ummm.... I hate to burst your bubble of disappointment, but you are in the green! You LOST 0.3 since last week. I know it isn't a lot, but every speck of green helps It is not a gain, it is not just staying the same - it is good. Now get out there and exercise!
Whoohoo! Thank you, I honestly thought I gained. I don’t keep track or dwell on the number at the moment because the number is so high and doesn’t help me to stew on it.

Dear @jugar,
Please excuse Bradley from weigh-in this week. We've had a family crisis (in the form of vacation eating). You can expect Bradley back next week.
Sincerely,
Bradley's Belly
Note: This was my best attempt at an absence note - god knows I forged enough of these during my school years.7 -

It's been a stressful week (many later nights at work trying to finish stuff for projects) but I'm pleased with this number. Hopefully I'll be back in the 180s soon5 -
Sorry, missed my weigh in. In San Francisco visiting an old friend. Can I get a hall pass for my weigh in? Won't be back till Tuesday night.

Sorry it’s late getting to you.

My steps are on target. No energy for extra exercise. Not logging very well. I used to be so good at that. I need to try that again. Then, maybe some of this newly found weight will go away. But it does get tedious and boring. And mostly, it takes time when I feel like I’m rushing through the day. But, I will give it a go.
My joints are so achey every morning when I awake. This is no fun.
Ashley and Brad, your vacation sounds wonderful. Congratulations to all the big losers. Hugs and light to all those struggling and feeling under the weather.
Walked a fall festival while sweating today, but my steps will be 7 out of 7. Still no loss though. 😞 Oh well, there is improvement to be had.5 -
CarolAnnM2 wrote: »Thankyou @bowens1973 for sharing the pictures and your success story! It’s exactly what I needed as fear is starting to set in with only 5 days left until I get my first new hip.
Hope you are doing well @CarolAnnM2 Give is an update on how you’re doing when you can. Thinking of you.I swear there is some invisible switch inside that can turn on to focus and have selfcontrol...and then it flips unexpectedly on me
@eggfreak Ivtotally hear you on this one. I believe that switch exists as well. Problem is that “invisible” part. I can’t seem to find it lately. Hope you’re doing well.

What is it with this funk? I get up every day planning to do well and then...... I have two favourite sayings, one is 'don't confuse efforts with results' and the other is 'the road to hell is paved with many intention', well I seem to be living and breathing the road to hell right now. I'm hoping this move will get me back on track and I hope settling into your new job and school year has the same effect for you.
Thanks @LoraineGB. I’m hoping so too. Hope your move goes smoothly. Not sure I mentioned this, but we are in a holding year. Renting and living with my daughter and her family. Sometime in the next year, we will, hopefully, find a forever home and move again. We are sort of living with half our stuff as we never unpacked everything. It’s weird. He’s hoping we kick this funk and can settle in our homes awhile. 🙂2 -
@bowens19
Dear Bradley's Stomach, Your excuse has been granted. Vacation weeks are where you get to relax and enjoy life. Just know that vacation weeks end, and that you will need to readjust to well-controlled (but still delicious) portions and keep the rest of the body feeling great. Absolutely all of those parts are counting on you. They love it when you (and the brain) keep it together. Enjoy!
@kellie_erin What a good week! 2.1 pounds gone, and that much closer to getting back to the 180s. You'll make it soon!
@bobagurl2017 Hall pass granted! See note above to Bradley's Stomach, and have a great time!@jugar How do you do your garden tomatoes? I may need to do something with mine. 🍅
@Shawtytel hang in there! You lost a lot for a while, so a plateau is normal. You'll be ready to get back at it now - just go back to careful logging and all the things. You need a while to adjust to a new level before keeping the downward direction going.

Strong showing team Waistaways!! Amazing job.. way to go.
Brad and I are on our way home. It will be a later arrival - just time to unpack and start laundry. Brad has a work trip to Lloydminster tomorrow so it's going to feel rushed. I won't get back onto the Peloton today but I do plan to get back on it tomorrow. Can't wait!!
I feel bloated and I've been getting heartburn the last couple of days (not usual for me!) from all the excess. The vacation was awesome but as @jugar said.. time to get back to the what makes the body and mind happy!!
Final exercise stats for last week:
9/16: 5759 steps
9/17: 4306 steps + 18 minutes outdoor cycling4 -
PW 151.5
CW 151.56 -
@ashleycarole86 Happy homecoming - that heartburn will be banished in no time once you get back to your usual fare. Poor Brad having to leave immediately on a work trip - salads for you Mr. @bowens1973 ! No more complaints from Bradley's Stomach, please You'll both be Pelotoning your way to bliss soon.
I wish I could invite you all over to share the gigantic batch of ratatouille with white beans that I made today. It isn't really a traditional ratatouille (it has fresh corn in it) but it is so delicious. Everything is from my garden but the onion and corn, and those came from a neighbour. I love putting in chickpeas or white beans so it is a good protein and a complete meal in one bowl. My son came over for dinner, but he and the tall guy had burgers instead of my fantastic meal. Poor dears... Luckily my son did not bring ice cream with him, as he tends to do. My halo is firmly in place
So after such a fabulous week 2, let's keep on going for week 3! We can build a streak, yeah? Even for those of you who are feeling stuck, the gains have been very small. Keep up the great work!
I need an extra long bike session tonight. It poured down rain all day, so the steps are pretty sad. Here is my week 2 for you @ashleycarole86 --
Sunday - 13,072 + bike 30
Monday - 9012 + Pilates 30 + bike 45
Tuesday - 9560 + Pilates 30 + bike 50
Wednesday - 10,018 + Pilates 25 + bike 35
Thursday - 10,260 + bike 45
Friday - 12,908 + Pilates 15 + bike 45
Saturday - 8839 + nuthin! all day in the garden...
