Popping to say hi 👋🏼. I’ve been reading the posts, but did not post as I fell asleep lol 😂 Today I was so tired after we sent those 16 little ones home, I wondered if I could even walk to my car. I know beginning of the year tired is a special kind of tired, but Wew! This is incredible. Hope it eases as I get used to it. Positive note — my steps are well over 10k before I got home. Today, we had one pee pee accident, one bloody nose, two splinters, 4 bandaides, and one wailing little boy when he saw me putting out the cots for nap time. (He was asleep first! ) PreK sure is an adventure. Oh and my son in law took my beautiful lunch salad I had prepared the night before. Daughter made him come home and give it back. 😂 🤭
Happy 65th birthday 🎂 🎉🎈@EvMakesChanges! Wishing you all the best as you celebrate you!
@bowens1973 Good luck on your race! Have a great time.
@LoraineGB Best wishes on your closing and move.
Food is logged. Steps ✅ Water 💦 👌🏼 That’s all I’ve got. ✌🏻3 -
Hi all! It has been a good day of dadsitting. Got him sweeping the back deck, sorting puzzle pieces, and all kinds of chores, but then I took him out for Dairy Queen

Good morning WaistAways!
PW: 180.8

So sorry I've been so absent! It's been so busy around here, what with the first week of school, preparation for my performance in front of my gym (it's TODAY! wish me luck!), Whatsisface got his updated booster and was under the weather, I'm getting mine on Sunday, I'm preparing everything for going to Disney, work has been busy, my period is about to start so I'm really bloated, just TOO MANY THINGS!
So this weigh in is not a surprise- I haven't been dedicating the time and effort necessary to log 100% accurately.
One perfect day. My breakfast and lunch for work is packed, tonight will be pizza and wine with the girls at the gym after performance, and we're just going to have a good time. After tonight, I'm going to try to check in more often here, as it really does help.
Have a great day, everyone!4 -
CW 190.6.
I continue to creep in the wrong direction. I'm hopeful that by next week the majority of the reno's and hard work will be done and I can rededicate time and energy to proper meal planning.
'what's for supper' has got to be one of the worst phrases ever invented.
Its even worse when you're elbows deep in a messy project, there's nothing quick to grab, and the team members begin to take out their 'hangry' on each other. Fodder for the couples therapist 😉😂
I will endeavour to do better!5 -

I’ll take it. It’s a fair reflection of my week. One thing I love about Fridays it’s a reset day (for me), I haven’t quite got the hang of resetting on any day of the week, it always seems to hang on until weigh in day.
@PlaneMonkey your post made me smile, especially ‘what’s for supper?’, which is our house is ‘what’s for tea?’ And usually starts being asked after, if not whilst, still eating breakfast! 🫣😆
@jugar I haven’t done well with my habit tracker choices, is it ok to change a couple of them please?

@LoraineGB Moving is a great excuse for purging for sure. I know when @micki48 recently moved her step count was way up as she led into it from all the packing up and sorting and stuff. It will be a busy time and especially with such a quick turnaround - we'll be here waiting for you at the end of long days
@PlaneMonkey Yes, what's for supper is a terrible question, I agree.. why is one silly question SO hard?
@micki48 What a fun but exhausting time that must be. As someone who has no kids nor any real experience with them, the description of the day made me tired just reading it. You and all the teaching staff in this group do such amazing work.
Greetings from Vancouver! Had a nice dinner out last night. I like traveling with the scale because I can directly witness the effects of my actions. It's not really changing my behavior much though. Wasn't sure if it would or not. I'm just enjoying myself with the confidence I can get back on track when I get home. Not sure if that's the best overall strategy, but it's what I'm doing.
Movement was super low yesterday between the drive and late arrival, and then we finished watching the Bills home opener before we went out for dinner, and while we walked to the restaurant, it wasn't super far away. Today will be better - Brad wants to take the bikes for a short spin just to turn his legs before the race (I brought mine too so we can toodle around next week), and we'll walk more.

You can change your habit tracker choices any time, as often as you want. Always good not to stick with things that are not working.2 -

I’m pretty sure I’m starting my period today or tomorrow so that might be a piece but my PW was from Thursday (9/1) and my parents were here over the weekend and I wasn’t tracking or anything and so I’m sure I was up from that and that time of the month too! It’s ok, I’m on track and have been doing great since Tuesday! We hav already planned meals for the weekend at home!4 -

Deep breath...I'm up again and was feeling very discouraged after my bounce up from 229. I have been really good all week and the scale just hasn't moved. Really frustrating to be up 4 lbs. Usually when I am consistent I see little downward changes. I saw my wellness coach last night and had my body scan. I told her I had a big fail for stress management with school starting 🙃 I was prepared for the worst when we reviewed the scan, but....IT WAS GOOD NEWS? I have actually gained a little over 2 lbs of muscle and I was also carrying 2lbs of additional water weight. So not really a gain as far as body fat was concerned. We were able to look back to other times when stress has been high. Sure enough my end of year evaluation week which is really high stress shows about a 2lb water weight retention compared to normal. So I have learned my body holds extra water when I feel stressed. I joked that I really wanted to 😢 cry the day before work but didn't. I should have to get rid of the extra water 😂
Work has really settled down and it sounds like everyone has gotten what they requested across the board. I think the boss is tired of everyone being mad at her. She is generally really good to work with. Fingers crossed we are back to normal. The OTs got to make their own schedule and pick our own teachers. It's just nice for us to be back with teachers who really want us or follow a student/family that we have really made a connection with, especially nervous mamas.
Morning workouts are going well and the morning routine is smooth as well.
@planemonkey The answer to "whats for dinner?" Is simply "food"😁 At least thats my go to answer when everyone states bugging me 🤪 It really is the worst question ever!!!

Greetings Friends!
Today I started counting my pushups and I think that if I report them here, I will start to feel more accountable.
9/9/22 - 6 x perfect form / 3 x on my knees / 3 x elevated pushups (leaning against the sofa)
Ben and I had lunch this afternoon with his sister and brother-in-law in a gorgeous country pub; cue much laughter, good conversations and sharing of good food. I shared an olive & tomato bruschetta starter with my brother-in-law and I had a seafood crepe with chef's salad for my main course. We were completely stuffed when we left!
I'm working a shift at the cafe tomorrow so I plan to take it easy tonight before getting an early night.
@micki48 I feel for you being so tired - I imagine that first day came as quite a shock, running around after all the little people as you were! But I'm sure it will get better.
Happy birthday @EvMakesChanges I hope you have a fabulous day!
TTFN Friends.

I know I am supposed to weigh in today, but.... the dog has me trapped. Can I do mine in the AM??? Rainy day. We're settled in on the couch... pinned, actually... 😉
Plus... buyers remorse. Completely went over my calories today, not pretty. At least 1k over. Tomorrow will be a better day!
The push up thing sounds intriguing. Might need to get in on dat.

I'm hitting the road today - stopping in for a quick visit with my sister, and then back home! It will feel good to be back. I did manage a great beach walk this morning, so at least half my steps for the day are done. Have a good one, everyone!5 -

Sorry team, I'm adding to the gains this week. Hopefully next week things will start coming down again. My step-dad is out of the hospital and I finally have a meeting with my master's supervisor on Thursday so maybe the stress levels will start to go down8 -

I almost asked to be excused but it is what it is. My new schedule has my body in a funk and this weight represents all the foods I’ve eaten for a few days. None exiting. 😂 I feel so bloated. I’ll be glad to get moving again.
More later. 🙂5 -

Greetings Friends,
@kellie_erin so happy hear your step father is out if hospital, that must be such a relief. And now that you have an appointment with your master's supervisor, I'm sure you'll enjoy a much smoother week next week.
I didn't do any pushups today. I did a weight lifting workout, but I was focused on my glutes and Hamstrings. Then I went to the café, where I spent all day working. And now I'm exhausted. I will be sure to do some pushups in the morning.
Goodnight all.5 -
@CupcakeCrusoe how did it go? I'm imagining so much fun.
Did a lot of up and down the stairs today because we're installing the new windows in the basement and this afternoon I tried to water ski for the first time! Not successful, but I will hopefully try again tomorrow. I'm never a fan of learning a new sport as an adult because I'm so hard on myself and learning anything as a kid is so much easier. But, this is the next step in my watersport evolution. Tubing is now boring, kayaking and paddleboarding are great in our small bay, but out on the big lake, I'm looking for more excitement. If anyone has hints or tricks, pass them along!
2 -
@PlaneMonkey
Just so long as you are NOT skiing the way this person does, you'll be doing great!
Well, team, we are not having one of our better weeks so far, but there are more weigh-ins to come! We are in the dust behind the crazy Downsizers, but they might have a bit of a bounce-back next week, and we can come sneaking up from behind, right? Hang in there! Red weeks happen... but we still might come out in the positive once everyone's numbers are in. We have a good stalwart bunch keeping us in the running - thanks!
Remaining weigh-ins to finish out the week:

Can't wait for news on the Gran Fondo and the dancing demonstration!1 -
My week in review: not good, as far as commitments go. Visiting my dad is never good for this, but it was still good to hang out with him for a few days. Lots of extra food and drink, not much strength training, at least some good music practice and steps. This coming week needs to be much more applied - getting ready for the concerts and recording for October is now essential. I'm aiming for no alcohol, sticking with my usual eating plan, and hitting the training with more consistency.
Steps etc.:
Sunday - 6925 + 45 bike
Monday - 7888 + 45 bike + 30 Pilates
Tuesday - 6844 + 30 Pilates
Wednesday - 13,602
Thursday - 12,056
Friday - 12,397
Saturday - 11,547
If I was adding up extra calories per day, the numbers would be impressive!!!6 -
I want to SINCERELY thank MyFitnessPal friends and for being the awesome people that you are. Today was an absolute dream come true. To start a race in complete darkness before the sun rose and to cross over the Lions Gate Bridge before heading up the longest and steepest climb of my life left me feeling invigorated. I had to choke back tears a couple of times as I thought about how lucky I am to be able to do this.
About 3/4's to the top of the first mountain I watched some absolutely elite riders hit speeds of 100kms/hr on a pedal bike with no fear (I hit 70+). It was especially cool to zip down the mountain and join those doing the Gran Fondo minus Cypress.
The residents of the many towns made us feel like rock stars as they cheered and rang their bells. There were so many kids lining the route. I must have mouthed a "thank-you" to a hundred well-wishers over the course of the day.
I thankfully hit another spurt of energy 8kms from the finish line and sprinted the final stretch managing to pass another dozen riders.
I managed to finish 260th out of 500 for the Forte class (152 kms + the mountain). I definitely improved my result from July's race, but again, I was only looking to finish.
To think that 2 years ago I couldn't walk to where I am today, I'm very blessed. I've had a great medical team but an even more amazing wife who NEVER stopped believing in me. Hearing her yell out my name as she drove past on her way down the highway to meet me at the finish line was so special. It gave me energy and so did the many kind words that many of you shared. Know that you made a difference and that you are loved!

Evening all!
Well as Brad walked you through, it was a very successful day here after all his prep work for the big race. I was so proud to see him in!!
For me, I was up at 4:30 with him, saw him off as he left for the start line just before 5:30, and then I took myself down to the gym to use the stationary bike for 60 minutes.
After that ride, I packed up the car, checked out, and started the drive to Whistler. As the cyclists were taking up a lane, the traffic was VERY slow. This was expected so I just took my time. The 1.5 hour drive was almost 4 hours, so that gives you an idea of how slow it was. The fun moment when I drove by Brad and got to shout a motivating "you've got this" in person was lovely. He was in the middle of a big climb and it was nice to be able to give him a mental boost at that moment.
Got myself to the finish line, found a parking spot after a ton of circling, and was there to see Brad in, but he came around the final corner with such determination he didn't see me. It was go time!!
There was beer and a meal for the racer, and then we left and got checked in to our Whistler hotel. I had made dinner reservations at a new Whistler restaurant that's only been open for 4 weeks and it was fantastic.
We are just winding down in our hotel - suspect it'll be another early night to bed. Now that the "work" is over we can play tomorrow... we are going to do an ATV tour while we're here. We then leave Whistler Monday morning and head to the ferry to pop over to Victoria for a family funeral taking place Tuesday. We may be able to do the Grouse Grind climb we did back in May before we get on the ferry.
We don't have to be back home till a week from tomorrow so we have plenty of time to slowly make our way back home after the Tuesday funeral. It's fun having our car and making it into a road trip.
9/9 exercise:
12476 steps
