I'm working for a perfect day today😌 I have just a regular day at home so it shouldn't be a problem. Yesterday was busy running errands. Then I had my hair color touched up. I just do a demi permanente and waited about 2 months too long so it was pretty much back to gray and dark blonde. It took over 4 hours to get through all of my hair! Then I went home and got my husband for date night 💗. Needless to say my food was just off and too much sitting as well.
I wanted to post some pictures of all of my sewing projects for my guinea pigs fall cage! Their cage is 90% all washable fabric bedding so it cuts down on waste. I didn't make the cute pumpkin house. I just wasn't in the mood to develop a pattern myself. A lovely lady in the UK makes them and I couldn't resist.
Here are the two boys (Pumpkin Spice and Winnie) in their summer cage digging in their garden themed foraging box!

@bobagurl2017 I'm really glad you and the puppy are okay! That sounds so scary 😳2

@bobagurl2017 So glad that you and Jack weren't hurt! I would have been fuming.
@conleywoods If I am reborn as an animal, I would choose to be one of your guinea pigs - they have a lovely life! And such plush living quarters!

We are planning a mini break to Belfast at the beginning of November and when we get back we plan to adopt another rescue dog. I am hoping that these future events will help motivate my improved behaviour!
Welcome to all newcomers. I think you're going to like it here.7 -

Evening all!
Busy couple of days.. my aunt's wedding today was a great success.
Very late nights for me, tons of catching up with family I haven't seen in forever, and way too much food and drink the last two days!
The wedding meal was one of the most decadent I've had.. so tasty. Needless to say, weight has gone up.
I will have more time to catch up in a couple days but it's been great reading everyone's intros.
I will be doing the step report Tuesday if everyone can have their data in by then!4 -

@CarolAnnM2
I was thinking the same thing - your docs are gonna be so impressed!
Brad was also told to lose weight before his surgery but he didn't start until after. He made it work and clearly things turned out alright but boy they're going to be so happy with what you've accomplished!!4 -
Speaking of Brad's new hip... just because of COVID and such, last night was the first wedding we attended since he got his hip replacement. We were on the dance floor all night long!! We said multiple times he never would have been able to do that before his hip replacement. It's a lovely thing!!6

Hi all
I'm Katie, 34, living near Nottingham in the UK with my husband and our two cats. I have binge eating disorder and low self esteem which I'm currently in therapy for. I joined this group in January 2021 and lost weight consistently for 6 months last year, then gained it all back before realising about the BED. Currently I'm in the support team because I've stopped weighing and I'm not tracking food intake. I'm trying to be kinder to myself and non-judgemental. Something 'flipped' last week and I woke up on the 1st September feeling energetic, positive, strong - all the good things. I haven't felt like this in YEARS, and I am clinging on for dear life.
Yesterday afternoon I shovelled a builders bag (800kg+) of soil into rubble sacks, moved those to the car, unloaded the car at the allotment and filled two of the three raised beds (50m away from the car). All on my own as OH was working. I definitely pushed too hard, as I had a meltdown when I got home. Last night my forearms hurt so much that I couldn't get comfortable in bed, but I feel good today.
I've got another therapy session in a couple of hours, and will be interested to see what she says about my newfound energy levels - I don't think it's a coincidence that my good-feels started the day after a therapy session. After that, I'll fill the third raised bed at the allotment (OH bought the specialist soil for the blueberries this morning) which won't take long, and I have pelvic health physio. Dinner is a peach and chickpea curry, then, as OH is working, I shall blob on the sofa with my cross stitch and be selfish in my TV choices lol. I've just finished the Lincoln Lawyer, so it's time for something new.7 -
Thanks @jugar and @ashleycarole86 - I dream 😴 about Onderland. I so want to get there before September 16 because I did some research and the titanium hip they are putting in me weighs 3 - 5 pounds. I want to be able to blame the whole post surgery weight gain on the parts 😂4

@Melissa0711 Welcome, I’ve been in this group a month and it’s a great group
@CarolAnnM2 I have every confidence you will hit your goal, I’m cheering you on!2 -
Happy September!
I live in Windsor, Vermont and have been on the team since November 2019, right before "the Covid" Season took over!
I've always had a false impression of how I look, mostly assuming I'm too (flabby, fat, lazy, etc.). Looking back on my weight loss/gain journey, I can see how much my critical self-doubt influenced my attitudes, including that my "Peasant-stock-thighs" worked against me unless I'm in the water...ah-hah! In the water, I have "swimmers' legs", which are powerful flotation devices!
Now that I'm in the Medicare set (will turn 65 this week), some things have become easier to accept, including my hard-wiring of "more is better". Serving sizes have baffled me for decades, especially when having several types of foods. My diet has been pretty healthy for quite a while...I just eat servings for people twice my height...and wonder why my scale changes so slowly in a downward direction!
I'm going to put a sign back up in the kitchen that reminds me to use the smaller plates and how much of a plate needs to be protein, veggies, etc. It's a helpful visual reminder and looks like a pie-chart. Who doesn't like pie? Ha-ha!
My two adult daughters live in Vermont (Em in northern VT and Moni, with my spouse and me in Windsor, when she's not house and pet sitting).
I can relate to those who are working more hours away from home and run out of energy. Isn't it strange that the 8 or 10 activities we *used* to cram into a 10-hour span of time has dwindled to 2 or 3 items and we're wiped out?! Well, at least I've been more wiped out since going back to work. I'm happy that I'm paid to mop and clean and help people exercise in the 92-degree pool. Most people who experience a therapeutic pool appreciate the "skin-temperature" of the water and gentle release it provides tight muscles and arthritic joints. I love the reminder of "where it all began", cavorting about in a watery, weightless pool. My sister, @jugar usually has the "heebeejeebees" whenever I talk about the warmth of that environment. Ah, well. We can't all be water babies!
This month, I plan to use the "sun-box" every morning and take time to acknowledge that "winter is coming". I'll be adapted before too long and know the increase in "sunshine" from this light helps my levels of depression be less intense.
Have a great Labor Day, WA United States-mates!
@micki48 that's a great saying about not being able to out-exercise a fork. Good luck with all the little diddles. Staying well hydrated sounds like the best plan so far.
Be well, y'all.

Well, yesterday was a fail. I went to a Mum making Booster Club Party. There were Margaritas and all the carbs. I tried to resist...but I was weak and hungry. I had a drink and pinwheel. I started today off right with by walking my dog and then getting my workout in. Working on some meal prep and laundry and we will go to the botanical gardens later.8

My name is Melissa. I live in Spokane, WA and I’ve been working on my health and weight since last August. I’m glad to be part of this…if someone could just let me know what the expectations are that would be awesome I’m not exactly sure what I signed up for but I know I need the encouragement! I do great Mon-Friday at 5pm and then the weekend I don’t do so great! Wanting to get back on track and re focused!7

Greetings everyone! As I sit typing this re-introduction, the rain is coming down quite heavily outside. It's rain that we need here in the UK as we've been through an unusually hot and dry stretch, but it's still disconcerting to hear it!
I'm Yinka, 59 years old from Worcestershire in the UK. I am a business trainer and apprentice lecturer and I am married to Ben. We both work from home (I only lecture one day a week).
As I read the re-introductions of my WA friends here, I started to think of when my weight-loss journey began. Growing up I was naturally slim without having to do much to maintain it. Having said that, I exercised regularly throughout my 20s and 30s, and even after having my son (at 28), my figure came back quite quickly afterwards.
I began to put on weight - ever so slowly - in my 40s. Which is also around the same time that I started to do less exercise. Over the past 15 years or so, my weight has continued to increase, although it seems to have stopped now. Then menopause came along and threw another spanner in the works making it even more of a job to lose the excess weight. At the moment I need to lose about 40lb. But I'm really struggling to make any decent headway.
So I can't explain why I feel more optimistic about losing the weight now, as opposed to previous periods, but I do.
September will see me sharing and commenting more frequently and my water intake will also be on the up. I could also do with getting to bed earlier. These three things are all definitely achievable. Now I just have to get on and do it. Feeling good about September.8
