Need to catch up on posts tomorrow but first day with kids went well all around. 🙂6

Wow! What a lovely bunch of people this is. I just love reading all your posts - thanks!
I have been living in my car a lot today (it's a team captain thing at the moment, eh @ashleycarole86 ?) so the exercise joy will have to kick in tomorrow. Luckily, I had time to put in a serious pilates session before leaving this morning. It felt SO good. Maybe not as good as moving branches with @PlaneMonkey but pretty danged good anyhow.
Reminders, and then I am hitting the zzzzzzzs.
Weigh-ins due through Wednesday:

Hi!
Made it back to work and things went ok today. I was mostly in meetings with the other occupational therapists and haven't even been to my building yet. Tomorrow I head into my building and hopefully schedules work out. I think our boss wants to schedule the therapists for some reason this year and that isn't usually how that works. I'm just a little worried about how that will work.
Food went great today and I am glad my workout was done this morning. I was wore out by this evening and was happy to finally chill out at 7pm once the kids went to bed.
Sounds like many of you have been busy today!8 -
I had a great day! Took my vitamins, ate great and got in a workout and a walk!! I’m feeling good!! Trying so hard to get back in the right mindset! My son and I also decided for September we are doing a sit up challenge and have to do 25 sit ups every day so that is been fun!6

For a second it was 152.8 and I was happy. I have been at 153ish for 4 weeks now!!!! I am hoping ym diet changes start ot help. As I am typing this, my stomach hurts.
@micki48 I am glad you had a good first day with kids!!!
@Conleywoods I am glad you had a good first day!!! In 17 years, I have never seen someone else schedule for therapist. My kids have a lot of fine motor needs this year so our OT comes every Wednesday and we do a craft. It's pretty much mt favorite day!!!!4 -
@KellyBgetsfit Thanks for the support. It is only an issue at my building and fingers crossed it will work out. We have a 4 month maternity leave in the middle of the year and the preschool OTs will need to help cover it. That should help remind our boss that therapists are property of the district and not hers! One of the teachers has been bugging me for 2 weeks to see if I'm her OT! Ha!
@Melissa0711 Great job doing all the things! You are in good company. A good chunk of us are trying to get our mindset back where it should be. That's awesome your son is doing a sit up challenge with you. Did you start it this month?
Second day in a row I was up at 5AM and got my workout in!4 -
Greetings Friends!
I can't believe that we're at Hump Day already - this week is hurtling past at such a great rate!
I went out for my Forest Walk with my friends this morning (and their dogs). I noticed that my legs were more sluggish than normal and then was forced to remember that my MS was making its presence known. Amazingly I managed to enjoy a wonderful summer almost forgetting that I had this disease. Of course, I then end up berating myself because my suffering is so slight in comparison to some of my fellow sufferers. But that's just the human condition, right?
Tomorrow I am back with my girl Caroline to continue her Iron series - I love this program. Approximately 30 minutes a piece, wonderfully curated weight-lifting workouts. I only use my 4kg and 5kg, but I am getting stronger. I reckon that I'll be able to move up to 7kg before the end of the program.
I have given notice on my cafe job, so I will only be doing the next 3 Saturday shifts. I need my weekends back - intact.
I have been ever so good with my food this week and am using my Ninja Foodi for cooking to get used to cooking with a single electrical appliance and hopefully better manage our fuel consumption. Ours is an old model, but I can still do loads with it. And it has a very useful airfryer function in it too! I think that I need to dig out our slow cooker too.
Other than that, I am working hard to get all my apprentice material ready for my lecturing that I start next month. While doing the odd online business training (I did Personal Branding yesterday for 27 learners!)
Busy busy, like so many of you.

I finally had my perfect day yesterday. I am getting back to tracking and limiting the sweets after my vacation. Why is it always so hard to get back into a routine? I did lose about 1/2 the weight I gained, so hopefully I can continue after my first perfect day yesterday. So far so good today!6 -

Fun! It's nice to recruit a family member to have a friendly challenge with eh?
I actually put sit ups on my habit tracker for this month as well! I normally focus on push ups, but thought it would be fun to switch it up.3 -

Way to go - major props for this!! NOT easy but so worth it so it's over and done with. Awesome!!

@YinxFed
I didn't realize you had MS.
You've always impressed me, but wow. I bet all that Caroline time is probably a super good thing you do for yourself. Neat that you'll be graduating to 7 KG!!
I also have to say that every mention of your forest walk just puts me in such a great headspace, I just imagine you in the most gorgeous of settings enjoying nature.. so lovely.4 -
@jugar
The co-captain separate road trip continues!
Brad had to get his bike tuned up this morning @conleywoods I think you asked how it was faring after it broke down on him on the last ride he and I did together. Through that incident he actually got a referral to an amazing mobile bike mechanic who he loves.. he's got "a guy" now. He ended up being able to repair the existing part and he came this morning for a final tune up. The bike is in the back and ready for its big day!!
So we are just hitting Calgary city limits now heading west as far as Kamloops today. We knew it'd be a late departure so we split the driving day into two. I've never been to Kamloops before so it'll be nice to have a night there.7 -

I'm up this week. I over did it with birthday cake and under did exercise. Ah well, it's a new month and I can get back on track.
On the bronchitis front, I'm starting to feel more like myself. I still have some chest congestion, but it is much better.4 -

So glad you're back! I wasn't sure what was happening - somehow I did not put you in support team when you became ill. I must have missed something The last official weigh-in I had for you was 239.6 so you are actually down 0.2 since then! Amazing how we can erase birthday cake...
Keep after that chest congestion - drink LOTS of water, and keep moving. The worst is lying down too much so that it collects. I used to have a lot of lung congestion issues, and I'm still sometimes afraid if I have a cold and actually stay lying down in bed all night. Crazy - but moving around certainly helps. Of course you might not feel like it, because the congestion causes tiredness - don't we love how user friendly the human body can be at times???
If you have a minute, re-introduce yourself so everyone gets an update on you, where you are, what are you plans for the month, etc. Thanks!5 -
I was in the therapeutic pool (92-degrees F) for 6-7:00 Aquarobics followed by 2nd breakfast, additional work out instructions for a newbie at 9:30 and then 11:15 for 15 minutes assisting a pool member to actively and gently stretch her calves, hams, and quads. The body sure is an interesting, complex place. When I got home at 3:00, I had a rest while my ear drops coated the canal in good shape. It's nice to have it improving. As @jugar said, often "user un-friendly".
Tomorrow evening, we all plan to have dinner in Waterbury to celebrate my 65th birthday. How odd to feel like I'm aging when at other times I feel like my same self with goofy sense of humor and all that makes me "me". We'll return to light a bonfire (if it's not too late), and cook a few "s'mores". Maybe.
I plan to get off this plateau soon and drop to the next decade down by October. At least, that's the hope. Time to take action! Have a lovely night, everyone. You all inspire me! xoxo6 -
So y'all know I moved from LV to rural MO at the end of January this year. It's fair to say we tried to like it, tried to adapt and really tried to make this our home until Mr B retires in three years and we move back to the England.
The house is finished apart from some interior cosmetic painting and the land, after a lot of sweat equity and hard graft looks beautiful, we cleaned it up a treat. We decided to put it on the market at the end of May and see what happens. We've had quite a few showings with differing feedback......we're not close enough to town, we're too far from town, the land is too much, the land is not enough, the house is too small, the house is too big and my favourite one is it is too old. It's a beautiful 100 year old stone cottage with a stone water tower and stone double garage. It was in the Hubble family and although we've been told Edwin Hubble lived here, we fact checked the dates and it doesn't fit the timeline. But it's a great claim to fame.
Anyhoo, we got an offer two weeks ago which we accepted. The Inspection was carried out last Thursday and because of Labor day, wasn't sent to us until yesterday. Thankfully, the buyers only want three things to be rectified before we close. All items are being fixed tomorrow.
So now the fun begins as we close on Tuesday 27th September. We have rented an apartment until we decide what to do, mortgage rates are 6% and so are the Realtor fees so we want to make sure we want to stay in MO before buying again.
We get the keys to the flat on Friday 23rd so we have a weekend to move before we have to hand over the keys to the house. We haven't moved ourselves before, Mr B's company has always done it for us. Today, I met with a Moving Co and they will quote for a full move including packing and a move with just furniture and I will pack our boxes. We are downsizing from a three bed, three bath to a two bed, two bath and so the fun of downsizing begins.
Oh, and my mum arrives from England on the 27th as well. She is here for a month and I can't wait. I haven't seen her in person for three years (thank you covid) and I just want to be in the same room and on the same timezone as her.
What don't kill you makes you stronger lol!5 -
Today has been another great day!! @conleywoods yes we did start it on Sept 1! He is such a trooper!! I’m feeling good and did some breakfast prep for the rest of the week and weekend! Egg bites! Yummy!4

Greetings Friends!
Just hopping on before getting totally embroiled with my day, with my first coffee of the day. @LoraineGB so excited for you having your mother staying with you for a month. I bet you can't wait 😏
You've inspired me, @ashleycarole86, with your focus on pushups. I can only manage 5 pushups with good form and I would love to be able to do 10. I should practice every day - why on earth didn't I think of that before? Thanks Ashley! Enjoy your trip with Brad!
Enjoy your Thursday ❤4 -
Of course you might not feel like it, because the congestion causes tiredness - don't we love how user friendly the human body can be at times???
Wait, congestion causes tiredness?! That explains so much!
I am glad you're on the mend @JEB03253, and I hope you're fully recovered soon.
@LoraineGB as long as you've made the right decision for you, that's what matters. Renting sounds sensible to me, especially if it's only for a couple more years. Good luck with the move!3 -
Wow! Great moving story @LoraineGB - if you have a photo of that stone house, I'd love to see it. The Hubble connection, even if a bit imaginative, is fabulous. I'm glad you finally found some people who didn't find the house "too" anything but irresistible.
@EvMakesChanges Have a fantastic 65th, sister mine! I'll talk to you later and see you Saturday
Another beautiful day so far here in Maine - it is fun to be able to walk along the shore and smell that lovely sea air.6 -
Happy 65th @EvMakesChanges .. enjoy the celebration!
@LoraineGB Your moving stories have been intriguing.. wishing you a successful exit of the home and I hope your rental will be a comfortable place to hang your hat while you figure out the next steps.
@YinxFed Great goal and one I'm certain you'll achieve if that's where you put your energy. Looking forward to hearing about when you nail it!
Greetings from Kamloops, BC! My goodness we live in a beautiful country.6 -

Well, it's going to be tough not to find myself back on the regular team for the second half of this month since the bulk of my vacation is yet to come.
I'll do my best. As this is a driving trip I have my scale with me at least so it doesn't turn into one massive surprise at the end7 -

I love magic! I'm Jean from central New Hampshire. I'm a Type 2 diabetic and trying to keep my A1c within the normal range.
@EvMakesChanges happy birthday!

@bowens1973 Wishing you both safe travels and perfect conditions for your ride
@jugar as soon as I can upload some photos to my laptop, I will put a photo or two of the house up. I can't do it from my phone
The movers are booked and scheduled to pack on 22nd and move us on 23rd. Until that time, I am going through all the cupboards and closets and putting items on the donate, sell and dump trailer pile.
