Sorry for the delay. It has been a crazy week! I will catch up soon.4 -

Hey there! I missed checking in the last couple of days and you can see from this morning's weigh in that spells nothing but trouble!
Tuesday night when Brad and I left the office, we had plans to go to the mall to get my rings inspected. We needed supper before, and that could have been okay if it wasn't for the dessert afterwards, and the cocktail during. I can have some of the things, but not all of the things, or at least not at all once! So, didn't stay under my calorie budget that day.
Then, yesterday I had to travel for work. I ate my meals from lunch onwards with work and I didn't have many free moments to myself. It was a rare time where I ate before I tracked, and then after the session we had a pool tournament and alcohol was flowing like crazy, so I gave up hope of tracking at all (which is rare as I usually put it in after the fact at least), but then not only that but I ordered fast food off Skip The Dishes when I got back to my room and had a total mini binge that was completely unnecessary.
So, yeah.. not the best little stretch. Things are on track today and I plan to hop on the Peloton after I am done here so I feel good about today but I am not doing so great at getting back down to my maintenance range... in fact my average weight in Sept was 169.1 and so far in Oct it's trending up at 170.4... still have time to improve Oct but I need to stop letting the excuses and little slides add up!
Wow.. this group is having an Atomic Habits moment right now for sure.. love it!

Another day wrapped up here - many hours standing, playing, and we got it all done. Two more pieces tomorrow, and it will be a wrap. The weather has been great for walking between our village and the workplace (about 3 km), so steps are not bad, and standing playing instruments for hours a day probably burns a good few calories.
Sorry you have had slightly disappointing weigh-ins this week, @lauren_989 @ashleycarole86 @conleywoods and @LoraineGB, but I am sure you know exactly what to do. Vegetables! Things you can eat in good quantities without worrying too much, and planning the exceptions so that they do not get out of order. You've got this! I love @eggfreak 's comments about the reminders, the quantities of food you can eat when it is not mainly veggies, and the sticking-with-it even-when-it-isn't-all-peaches-and-roses approach. And your food plan revisions sound great too @EvMakesChanges . Atomic, whatever it is - it sounds like plans are happening.
I'm about to crash into sleep, so last weigh-ins of the week reminder. Here is everyone still due right up through the end of Saturday:

Sorry so MIA. I need an excused for my weigh in because I totally forgot to weigh myself before we left for a trip to North Carolina. Finally got here. Almost 10 hours in the car. Oh well. Visiting my son and my old house. Haven’t seen him since April!
Catch up soon. Hope everyone is well. ❤️5 -
@jugar you are right, I do know what to do I am just not applying anything constructive at the moment. I have squirrel brain, I think about how I need to eat better and have more discipline and a nano second later I am thinking what snack I can have immediately while walking to the kitchen to grab it 🤦🏼♀️
When I stepped on the scale today, for a second I thought to myself ‘I hope I’m not over 220’, but in reality that’s about the exact same amount of time I spent on my health and wellness this week. I put in zero effort and got a result that reflected that. I do know I can’t go on like this, I am almost where I was at in 2015 and that’s not a physical or mental place I want to go back to. It’s like I’ve forgotten everything.
I did have a near perfect day today though. For the first time in weeks I honestly tracked and drank my water. I didn’t get my activity in but I will do better tomorrow.

Hope everyone's week wrapped up well. Hooray for the weekend. After my weigh in this week my time of the month showed up! Wasn't expecting it for almost another week so caught me off guard. Definitely explains the weigh in and being hungry.4

It's been not a great couple of weeks for eating but I'm slowly shifting my mindset back to the calorie counting. I think some of the weight gain is water weight - hubby and I had pizza last night because I didn't get home until 8 and we hadn't planned ahead.
We got a bunch of snow over night and it's making me want to eat warmer foods. So we might shift our usual dinner salads to something warmer like stews or soups4 -

Hi all -- we're done! We even added one extra piece just to record for fun (NOT for public consumption!), so it was a pretty intense day for me. The extra piece was a flute sonata. I had to read from manuscript with lots of things crossed out and sketchily re-written - but it was a blast anyhow. I burned a lot of calories during those 2 hours, I'm sure. It has been an amazing week, and now I'll get some rest and relaxation before flying home on Monday.
I will have time to do some catching up tomorrow, and start to think about the November - December goals idea to see how to put it together. There were some good ideas in there, and I think it will be useful to keep things moving forward. Keep the numbers flowing! Still need a few weigh-ins before closing out the week.
Tally ho!6 -

@jane_76 Beautiful photo - those fall colours are gorgeous. We got our first major dump of snow today.. (the same snow @kellie_erin mentioned). Iit will melt, sure.. but I had some shoveling to do for sure today. It's hovering around 0 degrees C so it's that super heavy, wet slushy kind. Tis the season!
@micki48 Enjoy your visit with your son! That must be nice to be back but 10 hour car trips are tiring! Hope you have a nice stretch of time ahead to enjoy your visit
I rode the Peloton for an hour earlier this evening. That is one of the ways I get back on track. I like the burn I get from my rides and how I feel afterwards.
Also had a busy day - visited a family member in the hospital, went to a movie, ran some errands, but I stayed on track for my food.
Brad and I went to a really fun cooking class last night and had a blast. The meal was super delicious - three courses made over a couple of hours. As someone who does very little cooking and especially not multi-course meals, it was fun to put together.
Exercise:
10/20 - 8125 steps + 31 minutes Peloton
10/21 - 10071 steps

I'm so glad there is a group challenge about emotional eating this week. Now that this period of work has ended, I no longer need to keep absolutely on track in order to meet the demands of playing difficult music for many hours a day (all while standing, of course!), so all I want to do is eat. I was SO hungry from about 4 am that it was almost impossible to stay in bed. My usual yogurt with one apple and 8 almonds breakfast was not available, so I totally enjoyed great fresh bread with amazing cheese (go, France), fig jam... Yeah. I know that today will be a day of eating! Tomorrow is airport, plane, bus, another bus, and then home - fortunately so late that just falling into bed as quickly as possible will be the smartest thing to do. I often overdo it on the snacks during travel days - added to the huge sense of relief and release following 8 days of super intense work, I will have to watch it or I'll have a very angry stomach! I will work out some emotional relief strategies before it gets to that point, I hope.
Right now, I'm going for my last long walk in St-Michel before heading for the train back to Toulouse. Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!3 -

Quick update before heading to Hanover in time for brekky then singing with the church choir.
I’ve been in Winooski since Friday night, recuperating from the bivalent booster. It helped to slug about and rest when possible. I suspect my number is off but couldn’t double check this morning.
I’ll be sure to double down on water and veggies to make any salty food intake thin out for next weeks weigh in.
Ta ta for now!

Hi everyone! Well, after one day with my son, who was complaining of being so tired, he tested positive for covid. He had just come back from a business trip in Charleston, SC. So, it looks like once we make sure he has everything he needs, we will head back to Pennsylvania and hope and pray we don’t get it. (Again for me!)
It’s a bit of a bummer, but that’s life. Haven’t told my daughter, who we live with yet. I was going to get my booster this coming week after having covid at the end of July.
Need to get myself together. So many thoughts. Happy travels @jugar.
Catch up later everyone.4 -

I hope your son gets over covid quickly @micki48 and that he hasn't passed it on to you.
@jugar the greenhouse project is no where near completion lol. Mostly due to the weather and some substantial under-estimation of how long these things take. Also there have been a few small delays due to mistakes/lack of preparation plus one significant albeit cosmetic screw up involving 9x 40kg concrete slabs and the internal car boot trim. Oops.
@eggfreak it's been really interesting to look at the patterns of my bingeing. In the past, when I was calorie counting, I'd avoid tracking any binges because it was a 'failure', whereas now it's just information, and the only goal in tracking is to get that information.
I have just spent 15 minutes actively practising CBT (back to my 'unhelpful thoughts' diary from therapy) because I am feeling as though I've spent the last few days messing up and anxiety is kicking my kitten, but I also don't feel like bingeing is the answer so that's massive progress.
Step 2 of the BED is regular eating, and I've fallen over a couple of times by not having my snacks prepared, so the last few days I've been working hard to ensure I take a snack with me - cereal bar, apple etc - when I am possibly going to be out over my planned snack time. I had an apple and sausage roll at the allotment yesterday, and a cereal bar in the car this morning! I've also had a couple of missed/late breakfasts from sleeping in, but I adjust the timings for my other meals to compensate, so I'll let those slide. Sleep is important and it's not as regular a thing as I make it sound lol.
I've been thinking about the rest-of-year challenge, and I'm going to be somebody who tackles unhelpful thinking patterns by writing at least one thing in a CBT thought diary each day.7 -

I got in 3 workouts this past week, which is an increase. I would like to get up to 5 days. I would like to lose a few more pound before the holiday but the scale isn't moving much.
Tomorrow I get to take my Kindergarteners on our first field trip since before Covid!!! I am so excited....but the weather is going to be horrible and we are going to the Pumpkin Patch. Wish me luck.6 -
Love the way you look at that @KellyBgetsfit .. it's not about doing it all at once.. but building on where we are at. Hope the pumpkin patch field trip is a ton of fun!
@micki48 What an absolute bummer. So sorry to hear your trip has been derailed...
@DD265 Thanks for sharing your BED insights... I think there are many of us that get a lot out of it
The snow continues!! Today Brad and I will be spending our afternoon at two performances as part of the Honens piano competition. In between, we will go out for dinner. I am on call this morning and have some things to do around the house so I'm not confident a workout will be fit in. I actually have a really busy week this week because of Honens, work, and other things, so I'll need to be extra mindful of my choices!
Safe travels home @jugar ... that sounds like it was quite the experience. Was fun to be along for the ride
10/22 exercise:

@KellyBgetsfit good luck indeed with the outing! Weather at the end of October is terribly unreliable. I hope it goes well!
@DD265 Sorry to hear about your cinderblock mishap - those kinds of things can really kick us in the **kitten. I'm impressed with the way you are getting hold of your thinking and how you react without resorting to a binge. This is great progress, and it sounds like it is the kind of rational approach that forms a reliable set of tools. Keep sharing how it works - I am sure many will try some of these ideas.
I'm in a rather depressing hotel near the airport, but at least there is a good-sounding restaurant very close by. Otherwise it is in the rather industrial zone without much to recommend it. That will help me get a good night's sleep, I figure - nothing else to do!
Here is the sign-up thread for new members who might want to join us for November. If you have friends who might enjoy our little group, send them along!

Happy Sunday Team!

You know what? I was expecting a gain (a small one, but a gain none the less), so I am beyond happy that I managed to stay where I was.
I've loved reading everyone's news, as usual.
Hopefully you're now safely home @jugar? It's been so great that you included us on your trip - really felt exposed to a bit of France from your regular updates!
@KellyBgetsfit your field trip to the Pumpkin Patch sounds like it will be so much fun - whatever the weather! Be sure to share pictures.
@micki48 So sorry to hear that your son has Covid - particularly as you'd travelled for 10 hours to see him. But I bet he was super glad to see you after such a long time. Stay safe.
@DD265 I love your idea about journalling. I need to do that more regularly and you've inspired me - thank you!
Today I slept in so late that I could hardly believe what time it was when I finally got up! But as hubby told me - my body must have needed it! And I feel so much better now - I didn't even realise that I was slowly wearing myself out.
This coming week will also be busy but I feel that I can do whatever needs to be done. I have my first online lecture to produce for my apprentices and on Friday I will be in college to support my colleagues deliver a BootCamp session for some railroad workers. A new experience for me, but I have a lot of support.
This week I plan to:
1. Do 4xCaroline Girvan (Epic Heat) workouts this week.
2. Keep to my water drinking goals.
3. Take my collagen and vitamins every day (I need them and I've started to slack off a bit).
4. Take 2 lunchtime walks.
Happy Sunday, Friends!5 -
