Don't forget all weigh-ins must be in for this week by bright and early Sunday morning wherever you live! Of course, that is extra early for those of you West of me
Still outstanding week of December 4-10:

It's been a hard few days in my house. FIL had a stroke but lives about three hours from us. Hubby is beside himself as we're trying to coordinate getting my MIL to visit FIL in the hospital, which is two hours away from their house. Initially we'd heard it was a minor stroke but when hubby visited he saw FIL was paralyzed down his left side. 2022 has been not amazing8 -

The past few weeks have been busier and munchier than the previous month. It makes sense considering the time of year and all of the holidays coming our ways!
I’ll get some more walking and water in tomorrow.
I’ll be back to read and write more soon! Have a great weekend everyone.

@kellie_erin Really sorry to hear about FIL stroke. He can absolutely make a recovery from the one side paralysis. The hospital should start therapy services very soon. If not, be a pain and insist he get it. The best recovery plan is 3 hours of therapy 6 days a week with speech, OT and PT. If someone can be with him that's best because patients can refuse therapy. Someone should be there to encourage him to participate. Sit on the paralyzed side of him and touch the paralyzed side as much as you can. Turn his face toward you. You can use a dry wash cloth to stroke his arm and leg using deep pressure. Or use your whole hand to press down on his limbs with firm pressure. It might feel really uncomfortable to him but it's good for him. Push him as much as you can to tolerate it. It's just his brain trying to repair and reconnect/recognize his limbs. If he has a lot of tone in his arm, tightly flexed and hand fisted, try pulling his thumb out of his palm. Once you get control of his thumb you should be able to get his other fingers open and then stretch his arm out. These a simple things your family can do while visiting him that will make a huge difference. It will keep reminding his brain that his paralyzed side still exists. Eventually his brain will pay attention. Keep us posted and good luck.5

@conleywoods Wow - we're so lucky to have you and your PT & OT experience on our team! I don't know anyone who's had a stroke, but life is always throwing us unexpected (and unwelcome) curve balls so I am going to copy this amazing treasure trove of advice and save it if I (or anyone I know) should ever need it. Kristy, you're a treasure ❤️2

@kellie_erin I'm keeping you, your hubby, your mother-in-law and father-in-law in my thoughts and prayers today. 🙏3

I know that some of you are already familiar with Yoga With Adriene, but I thought that I'd share this with you all.
The next free 30-day program is called Center and it's starting on January 1st.
I still have a few weeks of Caroline Girvan's Epic Heat to finis up, but once I do I intend to use this program to de-load.
For anyone interested, you can easily start this - or any of her other workouts or programs from her YouTube channel.
Have a good day, Friends!5 -

@kellie_erin prayers for you and your family. I hope your FIL recovers quickly!
@YinxFed thank you for the information! If it ends up being beginner level, I will do the 30 day challenge in January. I have done a yoga class here or there, but I need to work more on my balance and flexability.
Still not doing the best in terms of eating. But not doing terrible either. We went to the in laws last night and made cookies with my nephews and ate pizza for dinner. But I only had 2 pieces and 2 cookies! The rest of the day I ate well and went to the gym. This month will hopefully just be balanced with all the holiday parties and holdiays themselves. This week coming up is all around food 😕 Monday I have a group christmas party, tuesday is lunch, thursday is the office christmas party, and thursday night is a drug rep dinner. Not only does it throw off my food options, but some of them cut into gym time. I need to plan this week out for exercise!
@ashleycarole86 here are my steps for the week:
Sunday: 1,993
Monday: 3,654
Tuesday: 7,391 + 30 min jogging @4.5mph + 20 min weight resistance
Wednesday: 7,056
Thursday: 6,943 + 30 min jogging @4.5mph + 20 min weight resistance
Friday: 3,043
Saturday: 8,466 + 30 min jogging @4.5mph + 20 min weight resistance
@jugar I jogged 3x this week at OTF

@KellyBgetsfit Your suggestion to look for shorter workouts as motivation to fit them in is GREAT! One of the things that was becoming a barrier to getting on the bike was the fact that my program workouts were mostly 45-60 minutes long, and with limited time, I was feeling like I couldn't get those in. I was so committed to the program that it was making me feel negative. This past week I got on the bike for two shorter rides (30 mins), but at least I did it. They have classes that are 10 or 20 minutes too. I need to remember that some movement is better than no movement. It all adds up (what you do, and what you don't do!)
@DianaGetsFit512 Absolutely - would love to have you stay on for December! Yay!
@kellie_erin Your FIL and your family are in my thoughts during this challenging time. Hope he is making progress in his recovery journey.
@YinxFed I love Yoga with Adriene! Thanks for the heads up. She's such a lovely instructor.
