@ewilhelm2487 I excused you since you were waiting to hear back from me. The MODS moved you back and you weigh in on Saturdays now, so just weigh in this coming Saturday. Sorry again for not telling you it was ready. I guess I figured you see it on the chart...no worries! Hope you're having a good week!

Another bad day. Happy Wednesday everyone4 -
I haven't been as active on here as I'd hoped. But hoping now that I have some resolve on a 3 week ear infection I can become a more active participant. I was put on steroids to help with my ear and was terrified what I would let myself get in to and how it would affect my blood sugars. Super, super happy to say that my food intake has been completely controlled which has lead to really good blood sugars! Best I've had since being diagnosed with diabetes T2. And I'm happy with my loss! Although admittedly looking at the scale this a.m. I can't help but wonder if both it and my continuous glucose monitor are broken, instead of just being happy with the numbers. Ha!

Good morning Shape Shifters. I finally had a day where I could check all the boxes in my habit tracker. Mentally still not doing great, but I am pleased I did my workout. I did another Improved Health one, this time an hour long. The structure of them is just so nice; it really doesn't feel like an hour. Here is the one I did: https://youtu.be/qzZQ4Yt0kG4
I was checking my bank account and if I had gotten new money yet, and the number that showed up made my mouth fall open and gape at it for a full minute. My dad finalised the sale of my rich aunts home. She is now in a place for the elderly where you get help with everything if you need it. The cost of that place depends on how much income and savings you have. Since my aunt is never going to use up all her money and it was increasing her monthly rent, she agreed to already give away a good chunk of it. So all her close familiy got around 40.000 euros. My dad figured he didn't need all of that himself, so he gave some to me, my brother and my sister. So, so generous. I called him as soon as I saw and made sure he kept enough for himself. I never expect or count on any money gifts so this was a really amazing surprise. I will not have to worry about my savings for a long time. Guess I can replace my rain tank now.
I also hope this doesn't sound ungrateful, because I am not, the money is really helpful. But it also confirms again for me how it isn't everything. I am still depressed, I am still fat, I am still unhappy with a lot of things that money can't fix. Because of these feelings, I also feel undeserving of stuff a lot of the time. So even though I have money now to buy myself some fun things, I very likely wont be able to do it unless it is something practical or not for me (like birdfood, toys for Tinus). Just some random thoughts I have this morning. Happy Thursday everyone5 -
Here’s my weekly weigh-in report:

Weigh-in day: Thursday
PW: 133.1
CW: 134.3
SW: 168
LTD: 33.7
My target range is 120-130 pounds so it’s been disappointing to see my weight creeping up over the past six months. However, this week was better. In fact, I’m surprised to see an increase today, especially since yesterday I weighed in two pounds lower. Oh well — onward!
I apologize to the team, but I feel confident that I’m back on track after some missteps during the holidays. Best wishes on your progress this week, Shape Shifters!

Weigh-in day is tomorrow and I’ll admit I’m not looking forward to it! I’ve went off track a couple of times this week and haven’t even had a sneak peek of the scales.

Good morning Shape Shifters. I have pretty much given up this week. Food has been so bad, I will just restart tomorrow. I ordered some new jigsaw puzzles for myself, yay, and some vitamins/other healthcare products. I am not touching what I have put in my savings, but that still leaves quite a bit to spend if I wanted to. I would like to sort out my garden a bit more, so I will figure that out with my dad. I need his help and his car to get some things, but I am not in a hurry with that. My sleep wasn't great because I was reading for too long in the evening. Happy Friday everyone4 -

This week's loss was a bunch of water weight, happy to see it go. I would like to get to 195, which I was close at the beginning of December before the holidays. I know I can get back there with some focus on nutrition and sleep. Accountability to this group helps as well!
I can't find time during weekdays to fit in longer (>30min) workouts, so I've been trying to fit in 20-30mins first thing in the morning while my kids get ready for school. Ideally I'd be able to do more, but I'd have to wake up a lot earlier and that just doesn't happen easily for me in the winter.
I thought I'd share that for my weight workouts, I've been doing some of HASfit's free HIIT Tabata classes on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@HASfit. They have some videos as short as 5mins up to 45mins. I find the Tabata style works well to get my heart rate up in a short amount of time as well as getting the benefits of weight resistance.
It's going to be another active weekend and I need to be thoughtful about nutrition.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Congratulations on your losses @pedal_power and @kodakslim!
Thanks for sharing the free online workout links! Usually, I have more success when I have to be accountable to a group or ‘exercise buddy’ but I’m traveling this week so I’ll need another option. I enjoy the Tabata workouts, @pedal__power! …and I’ll look forward to checking out the others @Pupowl.
@angmarie28, @Pupowl, and @pedal__power - Good work keeping up with your workouts!
I’m not as consistent as I’d like to be in winter. Right now, I workout with a personal trainer for 30 minutes, twice a week. My husband and I go together. Usually, the workout is a mix of weight bearing exercises, using our own body weight, and some light weight lifting or TRX resistance exercises. I’m doing alright attending winter conditioning twice a week at the boathouse with my rowing group but I had to skip a few times because of other obligations. In the end, I really need to make sure I stay within my calorie target. When I focus on nutrition and healthy foods, and eat back half my exercise calories, I’m most successful. So, that’s what I’m trying to keep in mind this week.
Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you enjoy the weekend!

… I finally had a day where I could check all the boxes in my habit tracker. Mentally still not doing great, but I am pleased I did my workout. …
Yes! It’s great you were able to find the mental strength to exercise when you felt down. I really benefit from the endorphins of exercise so I hope it helped you as much as it helps me. I always say that putting on my sneakers is the hardest part of the workout!… I never expect or count on any money gifts so this [monetary gift from family] was a really amazing surprise. I will not have to worry about savings. Guess I can replace my rain tank now. …
I’m so glad you’ll be able to replace your broken rain tank! What a great use of the bonus funds you received from your great aunt via your dad.I also hope this doesn't sound ungrateful, because I am not, the money is really helpful. But it also confirms again for me how it isn't everything. I am still depressed, I am still fat, I am still unhappy with a lot of things that money can't fix. I never get the impression that you’re ungrateful but it’s so true that “money doesn’t buy happiness.” In fact, research on happiness shows that gratitude is a key contributor to improving our happiness. But, that negative self-talk makes me sad! We are worthy, Shape Shifters!! I’m sure it will bring your dad happiness to see your garden! So even though I have money now to buy myself some fun things, I very likely wont be able to do it unless it is something practical or not for me (like birdfood, toys for Tinus). Just some random thoughts I have this morning. Happy Thursday everyone
Giving is another research based contributor to our happiness and I’m sure Tinus and the local birds will appreciate your generosity — paying gifts forward seems to be a positive family trait!I have pretty much given up this week. Food has been so bad, I will just restart tomorrow.
Restarting is the key! Every. Time. If we just throw up our hands, it just puts us further behind. You probably remember my favorite samurai mantra by now but … “Fall down seven times, get up eight.”
I’ve been struggling lately, too — The struggle is real. So, I appreciate your willingness to share your feelings and insights. It encourages me to keep plugging along the path to better health.
Keep up the good work taking one step at a time. I know we sometimes take two steps forward and one step back, but that’s still one step ahead —
Onward, Shape Shifters!

I’m almost over my bronchitis, just a wheezy cough at times. Starting to get back to tracking. Not perfect, but a start. I’m working on getting my water intake up again. So all the pieces are slowly coming together.
I saw the orthopedist yesterday. Had fresh X-rays for my arthritic knee and it’s pretty ugly-bone on bone. We talked options and I got a cortisone shot. Everyone responds differently but I can expect it will take a couple weeks to see improvement. I do feel like it has taken the edge off the pain so I’m hoping for continued improvement.
Honestly, I think I’m headed towards a knee replacement before the year is out. I really need to crack down and get some of this weight off, because I know it will take stress off my knees. It’s kinda helped define my “why” for this year.
I stocked up at the grocery yesterday so I will take some time to do some meal planning today.5 -
