I suck at this ! I don't know why I can't get it together, it just isn't working very well, my motivation is BLAH....
Anyway, Hi. I'm Vikki - 51 live in Baltimore, MD with my husband, I have struggled with my weight for forever. I have 49 days until a cruise, I would LOVE to lose 10lbs in that 7 weeks, but I don't think it is going to happen, so I am just hoping to be in a better mood by then....8 -
Hello, I am Kelly, 41, married, Mlmother of 4, and I teach Kindergarten. I have been in this group since January 2020. I have lost and gained the same weight a few times since joining. Clearly, I need to work on consistency. I used to workout 5 days a week, but I have had a time fitting it in. I used to get up at 5, but I feel like I need that extra 3Oish minutes of sleep now. I typically sleep 6.5-7 hrs. I'm hoping soon we will have enough daylight for a post dinner walk.
I am feeling very motivated for February. I am tweaking my eating slightly and hoping to see better results then January.7 -

Weighday : monday

I am Melodie . I am a Icu nurse with a hobby farm in western pa . I too have chickens, a trio of ducks , 2 horses , 2 bloodhounds , three cats all rescued and am waiting for my lambs to be born in the spring for my new venture this year. I am 61, married , three daughters no grand babies which is why I think I keep all my animals. Covid put weight on me since I was in the threshold of it at my facility . We lost a lot of good souls.
I hope to retire by 65 but we will see, I want to lose the weight I put on and get healthier .

Weigh in Monday
Morning - not sure what's with the weight this week but I'm trucking along. I'm so glad January is almost over, it has felt like a long month. and I hear what you are saying @39flavours the enthusiasm isn't quite there.
I'm Joann, I'm a full time RN with a 8 year old and 7 month old GSD who is keeping my step up from all the walks. I live in Alberta and I'm taking some masters courses in policy, which I'm finding really interesting. I love winter so the cold doesn't keep me going out for hikes, skiing and enjoying our hot tub after.
My focus this month is tracking my after dinner snacks and not mindlessly scrolling on the screen in the evening. I know that affects how much sleep I get and it's not a habit I'm proud of doing.6 -
Happy....almost February!
PW: 145.6

Quick Intro for the new month:
My name is Ashley and I'm an Ohioan who has transplanted to just outside of Glacier NP (in Montana). I'm a Registered Dietitian for the Blackfeet tribe, a 500hr yoga teacher, and through an IHS pilot program, am about to start at "Legacy Holistic Health Institute" to become a board certified health and wellness coach. I'm in this group because, even though I'm still within a decent weight, I like the accountability and am focusing more on body recomposition after one of the fancy $7k scales (and a prior DEXA) classified me as 'skinny fat', so I'm working on increasing muscle and decreasing BF%. I think we'll be reevaluating at the end of March, so we'll see what we can accomplish. I'm trying to find a balance with everything since I have hEDS and have to be careful with my joints.
Welcome to any new people!!7 -

Just checking- My weigh in day is Thursday so do I just put a message here with my new weight on that day?
If ever you need a week off due to illness, vacation, or anything, just ask and you can be excused for the week. If you're a day or two late it is not a big deal, but always be sure to weigh in by the end of Saturday. Thanks!4 -
@cybernurse251 Great to meet you! It is great to have more animals in the team - I'm kind of short on them at the moment, so I'll live through you lucky ones. I'll be back to having a horse again in June or so - can't wait! Hats off to your for working in the ICU through all the crazy 3 last years, and for all the years before as well. I hope you enjoy finding some health changes here with us, so don't hesitate to let us know what you're working on and how we can best support you.
@cleaneater80 another fan of winter I hope we can be contagious to help out the people who hate it
OK folks. There are a fair number of us feeling stuck or not living up to hopes and goals. Sitting on a plateau. Or just feeling grumpy. Here is one idea we could try. I stole it from one of the other teams:
NO ZERO DAYS
It is a really simple idea. Every day, do one thing towards better health of any kind. One good food decision. One bit of exercise. One deep breathing session to calm down the stress. One little thing. No day can have zero of those. Of course, any day can have more than one! But at the end of the day, there has to be just one. I'll find the post in the other team to get more examples.
Let the team know what your one thing was. Try hard not to have a zero day, even if it is just 5 minutes stretching before bed, or saying no to a soda and drinking water instead. Whatever. I hope it helps relieve the stuck feeling, because that one is no fun at all.
Any other ideas are welcome! The habit tracker on the fridge, the cleaned out fridge, the walk outside - there are already a few good ones right here on this page.5 -
Greetings from Costa Rica!!

Have an absolutely fabulous time!!! If you want someone else to collect exercise stats, just let me know. You should be completely focused on your special time.1 -
It was a lovely day today, but it feels good to be taking a break from watching the rather dreadful thing that is network news in the US. I do not watch news at home, only read some print news sources online. It is quite horrific to watch the drama of network news and weather here. The one story I thought needed some fleshing out was over in about 8 seconds. Going back home tomorrow! Can't wait for the cold, the snow, and the quieter life.
Luckily, I got a great walk done, brought my dad to his senior daycare where he jumped right in to talk with another older guy who was kind of freaking out about being there. It was cool to see that even 2 people with rather severe dementia can connect and find some comfort in each other's company.
There are no Tuesday weigh-ins (love having a quiet day on the team!) and only one late person ---
@ells_bellz ? I know you checked in late last week so it seems too fast to weigh in again. But it would get you back on track! Go for it6 -
I love the idea of no zero days! Today, I ate the food I brought to work and stayed within my calorie goal! Even though I didn't meet my step goal today, I am in bed early so I can hit the gym before work tomorrow 😊5

Hey team!
I’m Diana, 35, optometrist by day, boy mommy to a 15 month old by night 😜
I’ve pretty much struggled with my weight my entire life. Lost a big chunk, 50lb (still overweight) about 10 years ago.. kept off most of it for a while until well life happens…
I have an extra 20lb from prepreggo weight that I am really struggling to get off and could have sworn would be off by now. Not sure why this time is so much harder.. (I know I’m not as disciplined so I do know but don’t understand why it’s taking me so long to get disciplined!)
By the way those 20 lb would still just put me back at 200lb which is still well over where I “should” be.
Looking forward to another month.. I really hope to be more active on here!
Welcome new members!

@jugar I will be back on the regular team this month with a starting weight of 237.0.4

Hi everyone! I’m Michele, 58, from the Philadelphia area. (Go Eagles 🦅 ) Married with two grown children and a beautiful granddaughter. I teach PreK and my granddaughter is in my class. I’ve been part of this group since 2019. Such a great group. I have been overweight most of my adult life. Lost and gained here and there. I was doing well prior to Covid. Since Covid, I have gained back weight and literally plateaued for about a year. I moved almost a year ago and gained 22 pounds in a fairly short span and I’ve been working to get it off ever since. To say this last year has been unsettled is an understatement. Weight gain, not feeling well, being unsettled are all taking a toll. I had a recent visit to the ER and still don’t feel myself. I’m tired of it. I want to feel good again.
My one thing today is making sure I drank all my water.6 -
Today was a good Monday.
⭐ Logged all my food and stayed within my calorie budet
⭐No snacking
⭐ 15 minutes on the elliptical-better then nothing6 -
Hi I’m Loraine, serial yo-yo’er here. After a long struggle last year, I am finally on a downward trend although I had a really off day today.
I’m going to be 59 this year and the weight gains and losses are really starting to show on my body. I tried on some holiday clothes today and all I see is loose, cellulite, crinkly skin. I’m usually really positive about my body because of what it does for me on a daily basis but we are going to Mexico at the end of March with friends who are young and beautiful and it’s got me feeling insecure. It shouldn’t, they’re lovely and we travel with them all the time but it’s never a beach holiday.
We’ve got snow again and whilst @jugar and some others love the snow 🤔, I detest it. Not how it looks, it looks beautiful but to walk or drive in it is awful. My pup splayed twice today while we were out. Ugh.
We moved again last weekend and are completely settled in our new place. Because we moved in the same building and same floor plan it was a case of moving one room at a time and setting it up exactly as it was in the old place We have zero storage at the new flat so I did a huge purge of all the stuff we had in the balcony closet and either donated or gave away everything we haven’t used and won’t need now we live in a flat.
A bit of a rambling post but I’m having a weird day. Tomorrow will be better ☺️

Love the no zero days @jugar !
I pushed myself to do a 45 minute peloton bootcamp class which I never do, but I was feeling motivated so I convinced myself to take advantage of the feeling and just do it!3 -
no zero days
Got my 10K steps!
@jugar I may need to take you up on that but I'll see how I fare
Went on a 3 hour ATV ride today.. lots of fun!6 -
Hi, I'm Kristi and I'm 40 years old, married for 15 years and we have 3 kids. I work 4 days a week as an occupational therapist at a large preschool center. I'm also starting my final semester of my masters program this month. Last month I had a really difficult time with stress and moved to support team. I had some good news and the stress has relaxed. I really didn't manage my stress well and kinda fell apart. I was starting to wonder how my hormones were doing. I visited a naturopath recently because they offer the specific hormone test I want. It will take a few months to get all the data back but it will give me some good info. The naturopath also noticed my cholesterol is very low and said that you need enough cholesterol to make hormones. He suggests I look into bile salts since I have had my gallbladder removed. I might not even be absorbing the healthy fats I have been eating.
I'm doing a bit of experimenting with food right now. Not sure what that will look like for weigh in days. I'm also about a month in on using my lumen. It's a lot of data to look at but there is a lot of room for improvement too. I think it will take time to sort things out.5 -
Yesterday was a good day, today will be as well.
I have noticed a pattern, I overeat when I exercise, so this month, I my # 1 focus will be food intake. I am hoping a month of only concentrating on that will help, then next month I will add focused exercise. This isn't to say I won't exercise, but it's not going to my #1 goal.
I also have to get some meds straight, I think my HRT stopped working or needs to be stronger because the night sweats, headaches, insomnia, forgetfulness, and just plain ole grumpiness is all back with a vengeance. So we shall see what my gyn says, but in the meantime, I am trying to find an older female primary care dr, because lets face it, men just don't get it, and neither do the young female drs. Unless you've been through it, I don't think you can understand it, dr or not ! lol
I'm totally jealous of you all will all of your animals, I like them but living in a concrete jungle makes it hard. When I get that river house in west virginia though, I am all about it...
I bought a dress for the cruise, and it fits so nicely... Now if I could have the same luck with a bathing suit.. haaa haaa
Have a wonderful day !

I like the 'no zero days' concept. My friends from hockey have started a plank challenge where we text each other and have to do a plank asap. It's definitely working for me. Every little effort will lead to improvement. I've moved up to 45 seconds and I'm going to keep increasing by 5 or 10 seconds each day as I can.
Monday I went to the office and stopped at Costco on the way home. They had a bunch of office friendly attire on clearance so I went a bit nuts. I will be trying it all on later with fingers crossed that the smaller size I picked is my real size! The inconsistencies across brands makes it hard to shop when there's no change rooms!5 -
It's fun to see so much activity in the group!
Today I'm celebrating losing 4lbs since Jan 1! Let's keep this train rolling!
The weather this week is gray, rainy and 40s - yuck! I'm making sure to open curtains & blinds to get whatever sunlight I can. Its so hard for me to get outside when its like this. Come on Spring!
It dawned on me a few days ago that my challenges with getting to the gym could be resolved by changing gyms to one that is closer and would not require me to go in the same direction as the 5pm traffic. So I'm headed to check out another gym this afternoon. Hopefully I'll feel comfortable there and can make working out easier!
Hope everyone has a good week!

Hi everyone, just received my workout plan. I’m willing to share it with anyone who might need some direction x8

Hi everyone 😊
Sorry Liselyn for late weigh in again 🙄
I cannot believe how quickly time flies! 😱
CW 228.2 lbs 😢
I don't understand 😥
I'm doing 15,000 to 20,000 steps a day, busy days and I'm still not losing weight. I don't think I eat that much, but then again I do grab quick snacks here and there 😩
I must commit to logging my meals and stick to it 🙄 that is my goal for February 😊
Have a lovely Wednesday everyone 😊8 -

Hey Vikki,
I'm sorry you're having a rough go at the moment. I'm pretty sure you can be in a better mood AND lighter before your trip! I'm committing to logging everything this week. I don't always and I KNOW that will be key. Good luck, we're rooting for you!

After many hours in a car, too much food, I want to have a no zero day and will get on my exercise bike to watch an episode of something. It won't be speedy, but it will be better than zero!
@Gidgitgoescrzy and @ells_bellz - you are so right to concentrate on the food when things get stalled. It is a pain in the neck (and other parts!) to do it, but it feels good and gets results. I'm joining you after a few wild days while visiting my dad. Wow. I really hit the pause button on wisdom - time to stop the madness!
Wednesday happening already! Happy February -

Hello,
It was a busy day today. Last night I had my son help me prep all the lunches. It was really nice to have that checked off the list this morning. I was doing last minute laundry before work. My lumen said I was burning carbs this morning, which isn't what I want. I kept intermittent fasting until 11:30 and made it to the fat burning zone. I was happy about that. Lunch was a big salad, apple and hazelnuts. Dinner was okay but not the best. Went to the grocery store after work. Dinner was yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, spinach/feta/strawberry salad, sausage links, 1/2 muffin and orange juice. Obviously the last few things weren't the best. They were so tasty though. No workout today. Taking it easy tonight. Really focused on getting good sleep lately. I'm also spending more time reading too.3 -
No zero day
Right before bed I looked at the floor and told myself I could do some last minute crunches
Did 3 sets of 12 😃11 -

Happy February everyone and welcome new members!!
My name is Cristy, I'm a 48 year old married empty nester with 2 adult girls (that still keep me pretty busy). When I first joined this group back in October, my starting weight was 165 and I had 20 lbs to lose. And now I'm basically there, though I believe I'm going to change my goal weight from 145 to 140 and see how that goes. The main reason for wanting to lose weight was due to high cholesterol and not wanting to take meds for that. And it worked! In January I had more labs run and all of my levels were back in the healthy/normal range. I feel so much better!! And if I can do it, you can do it!9
