HOW IT ALL WORKS: The April challenge runs for 4 weeks, from April 2 - 29. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat thread. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard. Let's have a Green March!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you take a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Hi Megan I’d like to join the step challenge but it’s been super stormy so I’ve been using the exercise bike. Will that count? Could you please share the converter.

For this week I’ll pledge 7000 steps.

    Thanks!🌸

Happy April, Looking forward to a new month and a new challenge.

A little about myself, I just turned 60 years old last month, single and I'm also disabled and use a wheelchair chair to get around. Therefore, I'm unable to any exercise that requires walking at this time. I have to many health issues to mention. However, this will not prevent me from this weight-loss journey.

I'm not married (never have been/nor do I have any children) even though I have always loved and wanted them. I live alone with my two cats. I go to a lot of Drs appointments due to many health problems. My goals on this journey are #1 Reach a healthy weight for my height (6" 0 feet)
#2 Improve the way I see and deal with what life brings my way.
#3 Improve my overall health, to where I no longer require the use of a wheelchair. ( One can only hope to achieve this).
#4 Learn to have a healthy relationship with food.

I also do intermittent fasting, mostly because I'm never hungry until in afternoon most times and I'm not a breakfast person. I'm not carb free, but most days are low carb, to help control my type 2 diabetes and hope one day to get off all my meds. Not just the diabetic ones ( I take 2 types of pills and 2 types of injections to control blood sugar, along with diet)

I want to be a more healthier and more energetic and a motivated person as I approach my senior years and hopefully they will be much better than the last few years. My weight loss goal is to reach at least 190 lb, so I have a little over 100 lb to go. Being in this group and not doing this all by myself, I believe will help me achieve my weigh-loss goals.

I'll be back later with my weight as Sunday is my weigh-in day. Hopefully, I've lost but, more likely I've gained. Doesn't really matter as long as I don't give up but, continue working on building new healthier habits.

    Thanks, Karly

Hi Karly, we have a lot in common! I'm 60 this month and 18 months ago I couldn't exercise at all due to a knee injury. I had 2 choices, give up or tackle my weight problem! Well here I am 95lb lighter, regularly walking and swimming and feeling better than I have for 20 years!!! Its doable with the support of this group! I just kept asking myself which I wanted more .... my health or to eat things my body didn't need. Good luck on your journey

Hi, I'm Anita from Iowa. I'm retired, I'm busier now than when I worked! I have a mother that is 86 and in-laws in there late 80's also that I help with and take to Dr appts. They keep me busy! I was on the March challenge and enjoyed it very much. I didn't reach my step goal alot of the time because of just sitting with my mother she had her knee cap removed from a fall. Now she is doing better I don't have to be with her as much. I feel the challenge helped me but my weight didn't change much. I yoyo back and forth with the same 3 lbs the month of March, hopefully April will show more weight loss. I am excited for Spring. I have several large flower beds that I keep up. Put me down for 5000 steps for now and hopefully when the weather gets better I can walk outside more and up my steps to 10,000, for right now baby steps.

I am glad you stuck around even though you didn’t have much of a weight change. So many give up so you did well. I find the fact that I stay in this group even if I am stalled or I have gained it has helped me from gaining all my weight back. Here’s to a great April.
    Hello Team,
My name is Joyce. I'm married (soon to be 28 years this month) to a wonderful man. I suffer from multiple sclerosis and battled it for almost 18 years. I'm on disability because I loss the use of my right side...my right hand is useless so I became left handed. I walk with a horrible limp and use a cane.
I have three kids, Sarah is my oldest and is finishing her last semester in Law School... hooray 🤣, Jake is my middle child and works for CAT as a mechanic on those huge pieces of equipment. He has a serious girlfriend and I think very soon he will pop the question ⁉️ My youngest son, Zach will be graduating in May of this year...he has been doing high school and college classes.... hopefully he will graduate from both 🙏! He is going to college in the fall and we will be EMPTY NESTERS!!! YAY 🎉🎉
I am on a new journey this past month with fasting. I use to IF but I read a mind blowing book called Fast Like a Girl!!! I have already seen some positive results and can't wait to continue my fasting journey. My goal to heal my body and the damage the MS has caused. I eat low carb and try to stay under calories.
I do 5000 steps or more a day to keep moving. They are not the prettiest steps but I'm still walking and not in a wheelchair!!
We plan to go camping a lot with our two dogs. My husband is on this fasting journey with me begrudgingly...lol
He is going to give a month and he better see results...lol

Glad to meet all of you and good luck on your own journeys!!!

Please add me if you want... always looking for like-minded people to share the ups and downs 😊

Joyce, you are an inspiration. The way you are battling this illness and continue to work on your mobility encourages me to try harder. You are a rock star.

5km race today. Didn't sleep a wink last night lol. So excited/nervous. I was hoping for warmer weather but I had to scrape the frost off my windshield this morning so yeah, not warm haha

I am sure you did great. I was watching some runners that were interviewing in the park here in London that are racing today. I was telling my husband about your weight loss success and your first race today. If the colour run ever comes back to Windsor you have to do it. It was my one and only 5k. It was a blast.

My blood moves very slowly through my body (this is not a good thing.)
They (Drs) can't give me water pills, because of other health issues.
I see two different specialist because of this issue with my blood.

My legs and feet will swell up at times really bad and then it'll release. This will happen on and off at least until the Drs can figure out how to improve blood flow. Which will cause me to gain a few pounds and then lose a few pounds; eventually, it will even itself out and it will show a good loss.
It's like an uphill battle, but one worth fighting. The poor blood circulation has caused my right foot to have an ulcer on the ankle area. (Not a pressure ulcer because I don't lay on my right side.) Its going on two months and it looks like it'll still be a few more months to get it fully healed, according to the wound specialist I'm seeing.

I would list all that's wrong with me, but the list is way to long and some are very serious and I don't like to really talk about them. My losing weight won't change some of what's wrong with me, health wise; However, losing the excess weight will in a lot of areas especially my out look on life.

Thanks for this group and the support and encouragement. Looking forward to reading how everyone is doing this coming month and returning the support.

Hang in there. Weight loss is great for so many areas of health. It can’t cure everything but it helps a lot. Just the pressure it takes off our joints is crazy. I think it’s every pound we lose removes 3 pounds of stress on the knees and 6 on the hips. Can’t wait to celebrate your successes this month.
