I want to send a kudo or two out to my amazing co-captain @ashleycarole86 . She is going through a rough patch - huge (and I mean HUGE) success followed by big changes, some awesome vacations, and more changes. She thought things were not going so well, and her posts felt a bit sad and negative.
You know what? She did well last month. Maybe not first place well, but steady and OK well. As far as I can tell after many years in this game, that is the best kind of well. Be like Ashley. Keep going

Tracking is so bloody boring, but effective. As are our voices in your head. @bobagurl2017 - hear this. Soda = NO. sneaking sweets = LISTEN TO US!! Tracking = pretty good help!! You've got this! Hi everyone! I'm Tess, and I'm technically a returner after ages away from this. I didn't do a great job keeping up with things on my first attempt, but since then I've done even worse, gained a lot, and want to turn things around
I was in a good rhythm around this time two years ago and ended up dropping 50-60lbs over the course of 2021, but when I decided to go back to school the stress of applications (and now the stress of *being* in school again) led to...nothing good (probably feeling very similar to @ashleycarole86).
So my little goals for the month are to drink more water and try to get back in a habit of walking in to the lab where I'm working; it's 3-3.5 miles one way. It's hard when I have so much labwork *and* homework weighing me down, but at least the weather has been nicer and it doesn't get dark so early any more, so I'm hopeful!

@jugar I need to be excused from the next two weigh-ins: I'm going to be away from my scale Friday night-the next Saturday, haha, which stinks. Hopefully I can keep my eye on the prize while still indulging in some treats while I'm away! Bumping my calories up to maintenance for my trip starting Friday.7 -

Hi All, I am Vikki , 51 married, live in Baltimore, MD - I am a payroll manager for a lumber company.
I've done this in the past, but I am having a hard time committing for the past 2 years between job hopping, major surgery, and some kid issues, my heart and head have not been into it.
April is going to be the beginning of a fully committed Vikki, I am defiantly in the proper mind set now and ready to put myself, and my health 1st.
My goal for this week is as follows
Sunday = Rest day
Monday = 30 min video - I do these cheesy Walk away the pounds videos, but I like them, they are low impact aerobics.
Tuesday = 10 min video & 30 min yoga
Weds = 10 min Video & 30 min video
Thurs = 10 min video (Have plans after work with a friend)
Friday = 30 min yoga & 20 min video
Saturday = 45 min video - or walk outside , weather dependent.
I would like to join the step team this month, my goal will be 5k per day.

Welcome all newbie's, this is a great group!
I'm Loraine from London England but living in Springfield Missouri.
I've bounced up and down all my life but am more focused about my future health than ever before, probably because I've just turned 59 and I have so many plans for travel in my retirement that I need to be of good habits and mindset to ensure it all happens without a hitch.
Saying that, I've just got back from a trip to Cancun at an all inclusive resort. It was a greatly needed trip after a few awful weeks but we went with friends who like us, really like to eat and drink. I overdid it every day, I started with good intentions by having scrambled egg on toast for breakfast but as soon as I got to the pool, I was fully committed to getting my money's worth and sabotaging myself.
Whilst it was a great trip, I have realised I cannot be trusted at an all inclusive resort. If I got a do over, I would certainly do it differently, good news for my trips going forward - our next one is in four weeks and then we have another beach vacay July 4th (thankfully neither are all inclusive).
I had zero Zero days on vacay. But today, I am on my way to a really good Zero day. I've got the food nailed, the exercise nailed and I just have to do a couple of things to set me up for the rest of the week.
Today me is focused on tomorrow me. It feels good to be back in a structured routine
I'm glad it's the start of the month as my gain on Friday would ruin my green streak.6 -
@jugar Thanks for the encouragement. I'm only 3 more sleeps away from my 2nd hip replacement so I'm not going to worry about the scale today or next week. Once I am back on my feet in a few days things will come back to normal weight loss mode.8

Hi I'm Michele, 58, from Pennsylvania, USA. I have been with this group for 4 years now and have learned so much from everyone. I currently have a load of stress in my life as we just sold a house in NC and are buying one in the Philadelphia area. I work full time as a full time PreK teacher. My weight has finally started to go down a bit after gaining 20 pounds in the year after we moved. Still have not broken into Onderland again, but I will by my birthday in June. My low, right before the pandemic was 188, then up up and stayed at 196 for a YEAR. Then down to 192 before we moved a year ago. Up 20 pounds and now I'm at 204 ish. I'm doing what I can right now in my crazy life. I can see the light and I know it will soon be more settled. Thankfully, I have learned a lot and changed my eating over the last 4 years with this wonderful group. I am currently not logging and I KNOW that helps, but it is not likely to happen right now. But, it will be ok. Glad to have all the new members join us. Great group.

I was pretty surprised to see my name on there this month! It's a mindset issue for sure. I'm feeling the blahs which you've very astutely picked up on (not that I'm great at hiding it.. let's be honest LOL). So I'm not exactly in a success mindset.
I'll admit I had a wild and wicked crazy binge last night. It was bad.
But, I dusted myself off today, and I had many wins:
-calories below target
-a one hour Peloton class which makes me feel REALLY good
-choosing the zero calorie beverage at my free work lunch
-water (I've been slacking)
-10 push-ups
-not beating myself up for the binge (yes I'm acknowledging it but I'm moving on)
I've always been a binge eater, and I miraculously seemed to pause it for over a year, and now I'm sorta on the slip and slide. I've heard sort of anecdotally that after a huge weight loss it's not uncommon to start bingeing.. but I mean, I always did. So really, I'm trying to figure out the long term plan to remove that from my life.
I don't feel restricted or anything.. I allow myself the things I want..
Anyway, I know my success comes from doing good things, treating myself well, and just letting the tiny habits build on themselves. It's fighting against the need for everything to be perfect to be good.
So hey! Today is a good day, but they can't all be. The key is having more good days than bad.
I want to end April lighter than I started it. Let's go!

Welcome back! Stress does a number on our weight loss plans, as @micki48 mentioned as well. Your goals sound wonderful. Walking is one of my favorite things to do... sounds like a good way to get some movement and enjoy the nice weather.

You're touching on something that crosses my mind a lot. Even though I'm not exactly where I want to be, the good habits being here has built within me means any backslide is a lot less impactful than it would have been otherwise. That counts for a lot!4 -

I'm glad to see the positivity shining through for April - the sun is shining through too (though it's very cold today) and both things are helping my mindset for sure.
@CarolAnnM2 good luck with your surgery: I hope everything goes well!
It's Tuesday which means early morning PT. I had a late night - didn't sit down until 9pm after an appointment and jobs. I've started playing a computer game and I can burn hours, so it was 11pm by the time I started getting ready for bed, to be up at 5.30am. Training was good and we went back to the overhead squat with a few small things to work on. The fastest way to improve is going to be resistance bands and sprints - I have some old workout routines written down from when I first began training that I can fall back to.
OH is working the late again today, so I have a curry ready meal out of the freezer (trying to use everything up/make space for full-on batch cooking) and I plan to take a little less on, although I need to get some wrapping paper and a card for OH's birthday on Sunday and I might get that out of the way. Plus if I go to the designer outlet, I got a flattering vest top to take on holiday and I may be able to pick up a couple more.

Well yesterday was a complete bust, I snacked and snacked and did not exercise, and that rolled into this morning.... I gotta get it together...
I am just not sure why my brain works the way it does, it knows I want to do this, but it's like no, just one more day of eating whatever... UGH
Today will be a good day, even if I didn't exercise this morning, I can do it when I get home...

I totally get you @Gidgitgoescrzy, my brain is the same! I want to exercise in the evenings, even just a few planks and simple weights, nothing I even need to change my outfit for... But no. I continue to sit on the couch and binge watch tv until bedtime. And then scroll on my phone instead of sleep.
Ugh. Progress needs to be made!
@CarolAnnM2 can't wait to see how lively you end up post-surgery #2! Hope it's a speedy recovery6
