@AmbersWay my bacon bits butter didn't turn out quite right. It's still usable though.
I cooked down a package of chopped bacon. I slow cooked it to try and get as much moisture out of it without burning the bacon bits. I turned the heat off and added butter and stirred. Then let it cool. When solid again I put into jars and put them into the fridge. The idea is to snack on it to up my fat macros but I'll probably use it for cooking my eggs since the flavor is off a bit. I'll make more when this batch is gone.

@Cornanda thanks for the video 💐

@trooworld thanks for the fitbark info. I have Puppy who is going through a chunky phase. She’s quite spoiled by everyone around.

I’ve been on this medication for iver a year. Some weeks I am pretty good and some just flip my world. I have discussed it with my doctor, he said I have to tough it out. I’m on the lowest dose. I take half of what he initially prescribed. I’m praying all goes well with my next MRI and they might wean me off of it for a while to see how things go. Thankfully, these feelings come and go during the day. So when it lets up, I get things done. I have weights and stretching to do and some laundry to fold. 😂 goals.

That’s great that you’re lessening the Prilosec due to eating better. If I eat greasy or tomato based foods, tums becomes my best friend. 🤷🏻‍♀️

2 hours in the kitchen. Oh I so need to do that. The tops of my cabinets need a cleaning. Ugh.

@19shmoo69 ok the butter sounds great. Bacon bits in butter sounds even better. I always save my bacon grease, makes the best eggs and fried potatoes.

@vegan4lyfe2012 @trooworld You must post your snacklebox updates! Is it weird that I'm very fascinated by what's in someone else's munchbox? lol Today I did cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, klamata olives, artichoke hearts, almonds, celery, and carrots for a little Mediterranean theme.

@trooworld @Katmary71 Katmary, you said you're adding it to your list and Trooworld liked it, but I wanted to say it reminded me a LOT of The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. If either of you liked either book, I think you will also love the other.

@GabiV125 What a BEAUTY! Loved seeing your coffee partner. What's his/her name? I have a little tuxedo who is darling but always wanted a pure black shorthair with green eyes to call Bastet :D

Thanks for the prayers to the garden gods! The garden gods provided and the line he broke was one we could do without, so we capped it. Avocado tree is in, looking a little sad, hopefully just in shock. My husband is doting on it like an injured child. They seem to be especially picky and wimpy trees in their younger years so... we wait and see.

Keto-paleo recipe share from last night: Husband and I found a clearance sale on LAMB awhile back, which we had frozen (it's usually toooo much $$$). We decided to try a middle eastern style dish my grandma used to make. She'd salt/pepper and sear the chops with lots of onions and bell peppers, then add garlic & stewed tomatoes and simmer on low for like 2 hours, or until it fell off the bone. Of course she served hers over a buttery rice pilaf BUT it also makes a rich, delicious topping for a big bowl of cauliflower rice. We also added carrots and mushrooms to add more veggies.

It turned out AMAZING. If you want more middle eastern flair, you can sprinkle some tsumac powder, fresh cilantro, raw onions, and a dollop of cucumber yogurt on top for some brightness.

Happy Easter to all who are celebrating this weekend. May you stay strong in the face of whatever decadent treats await you! (Stay strong in the face of the basket of rolls, if that's your poison!)

@shaunarir83 I used to put a lot of pressure on myself as well to be perfect with logging etc. I would do different challenges and when I wasn’t perfect it just really stressed me out and I didn’t do well. I very seldom join challenges anymore and just stick to the basics, that seems to be the ticket for me. not perfect but always giving it the good old college try. I’m glad that your month is going so much better!

@Cornanda it sounds like you have been having a busy time, congrats on the stretching! Congrats on the loss!

@fairymange your snack box sounds delicious!

@trooworld it sounds like there is not ever going to be a dull moment in your house between Daisy and Violet🤣. Does Violet bark a lot when you take her out on walks? There is a guy in our neighbourhood who walks three small long-haired dogs, I’m really not sure what they are. The whole time he is walking them they are talking, to the rest of us it’s hilarious, you always know exactly where he is and can hear him coming from blocks away.🤣

Most of my day was spent cleaning and doing some prep for Sunday dinner. I am trying to be really organized this time, I am usually racing right up to the last moment before everybody gets here and I’m exhausted lol. Vannie and I just did a couple of walks today for exercise, otherwise it has just been in the house. Last night was not a terrific sleep night so my energy is not that great.

@fairymange what a blessing that the pipe could be capped. I laughed at the image of your husband babying the tree. My husband is doing that with olive trees at the moment.

Your lamb chops sound great! I do something similar but with liver and serve with pita bread (for the family). Everyone should try onions with sumac, it’s such a nice addition. I will have to use cilantro next time, instead of parsley. Now you have me hungry 😋

@trooworld yes and yes! The bottom of the fridge can really collect some craziness. Kids will spill and not pay attention. This week hubby knocked over the soy sauce bottle and it was everywhere. From top to bottom. 😳

Violet is like Puppy. 😂 I am afraid to go far on a walk because I can’t carry her and I don’t want to go viral for trying to drag her home. She’s more of a roll over and rub my tummy gal. I love her so much. She’s my vocal pooch. Every time I go out and return, she sings me the song of her people. (Poor neighbors). If I travel, she will flip her fluffy butt in circles, when I return. I told my kids, she’s getting my diamonds for inheritance unless they start doing flips when I get home. 🤣🤣🤣

@laurelfit57 I hope you get a good nights rest and enjoy Sunday dinner.

Thank you all for the nice words about my diva of a cat. She’s almost 12 yo, her name is Blue, she’s very smart and clearly outranks the dog.

@GabiV125 - you are tearing it up with the weight loss this month- Congrats! What are you doing different?
    Happy Friday- Lisa

Well Lisa, this year started with medical issues one after another, granted not in my immediate family, but close enough to feel like it is. To deal with it I took a long walk one evening (1.5-2h) and since I slept a little better, did it again next evening. It’s been about 6 weeks of repetition and I figured I get about 150 calories from it. The real win is not being home during my 5+ snack night routine 😁.
    Fancy- shmancy , right?

@DrewsAnna Adorable best buddy, what is that toy?

@micaroo4 I hope your feet and ankles feel better. Yep you started the stretching challenge, you have to at least do a little now!

@trooworld Thank you! As for the novel it's hard to explain, there's the connection to reading the previous book and the concept is interesting, it reminds me of a book you think is average but you'll flash back on things from it through the years if that makes sense. I think your tracking is a great idea, it's tough especially with not eating at home to estimate things. Love the meme, that's exactly how I was feeling when I joined here as I was going downhill fast NOT doing anything.

@GabiV125 OMG beautiful kitty! I love black cats, I wanted to get one when I ended up adopting mine then my last boyfriend had one that I loved, I was thinking it was fate but nah (loving his two cats was the best thing about that relationship).

@txcritter69 Thank you! I'm with you, bring the Spring! So tired of rain, been a heck of a winter.

@sleepygirl79 Going shopping yourself sounds like a good idea if he tends to not pick healthy things. Chocolate eggs would be super tempting!

@laurelfit57 I'm not good with chocolate in the house either. We should get tips from @Jactop who worked in a chocolate factory, not sure if she still does but I think at the slightest stress I'd lose control there and end up in a diabetic coma. The few times I worked around food they were things that were real good (cookies and pizza). Are you going to let yourself have some or try to abstain?

@shaunarlr83 LOL I was thinking the handy man would be great for my neighbor to get back in the dating pool or have a little fun! Maybe THAT is why she has him staining the fences next, I need to blast some Marvin Gaye or Luther Vandross next time they're talking. You sound like you're doing great, not being perfect is a great way to still do a lot and stay on track. I'm pretty all-or-nothing and my SIL started saying with things (Wayne Dyer books were what the topic was then) that she takes what makes sense to her and tries it out in her life instead of trying to do everything. I'd always try to do everything and go hardcore then get tired and give up defeated, it's real freeing to do SOME and let that be enough.

@Cornanda hugs my friend, you're doing amazing!

@AmbersWay Huge hug, medication side effects suck, I'm so sorry to hear how hard it was for you last night. Crying like that DOES help sometimes! Would you possibly be able to go down a bit on the medication if you don't adapt to side effects? Funny you said that about the group challenge, I wasn't sure what the final decision was so I just added about 5 minutes more to my stretching routine all week and it is helping. Dumbbells, Sydney Cummings was one on YouTube I used to do as well as HASFit and Carolyn Girvan have good ones too, I'll private message you a 30 minute Arm Burner workout so you can be “Summertime Fine” ! (three snaps in a Z formation if your arm isn't too tired!)

Hi team! I had a charity meeting at a new restaurant that has pasta and brews and ate and drank way too much (their Screw Cancer hard cider was yummy which was blackberry and raspberry then I tried a passionfruit guava one). We had a good turnout of new people wanting to volunteer then I love the main people, I consider them friends at this point. My relationship is on the rocks and I've been through it this week with the pain clinic, I'm not relaxing on the latter until I get my medication as the last few days have been so ridiculous with one thing after another that I was screaming in my car to let off steam before my hair appointment when they didn't call for my appointment for a second time AFTER I went in person and was about to burst into tears on my hair stylist. I talked to the flaky PA in the middle of my appointment and he could only refill prescriptions and my appointment was a med refill and getting to the next step with the spinal cord stimatulator (one step in 6 months is insane so no I won't wait until my next appointment) then I got a text that clarification on a prescription was needed or it wouldn't be filled so that was 2 more calls and you can only leave recordings. I left a message after those saying I wanted to cancel my next appointment with that PA and never want to see him again but may go in person Monday to deal with it to make sure he's not involved with my care ever again. OK time to go read for a bit and relax, not sure if it will be dry enough to go to the farm tomorrow but I could sure use it! Have a great Saturday!

Since it's almost Easter what are you plans for it? I'm going to enjoy the day then get back to it as far as food but will still work out. I tried to stay healthy on holidays and once I eat one thing I'm trying not to eat I stuff my face so I eat less if I enjoy the day versus being perfect.

    No Zero Days
    ate under calories
    good water/tea
worked out (arm cardio, stretching, strength)

A gain is desired at this point; I'm still below my goal range of 127-133.

I did my 15 minutes of stretching for the week, all in one go, and on the very last day. Not really in the spirit of the challenge! What I really NEED to do it stretch every day. Not 15 minutes, but maybe 5. Or even 2. But I need to get CONSISTENT about stretching.

I have tracked this week and did my water and steps but no exercise and no you guys. I now for sure know I can’t do this by myself. I need you all.

    GOOD MORNING!
I did read everyone posts and would like to congratulate everyone who had a loss this week.

@trooworld CONGRATULATIONS on adopting Violet! The Fitbark is pretty cool. I bought it back when Sansa got run over by the ups truck. She fractured her pelvic bone. We were down 2 months before she was able to start walking again. It really helped me with monitoring her pain and activity. I have a trainer in mind jyst have to wait until we have the money put aside to start our bathroom remodeling job coming up in June.

@Katmary71 I am so sorry you are having such a hard time with the pain clinic. It's sad how place will treat you but want that money when it time for payment. Glad your charity meeting went well.

@sleepygirl79 unfortunately as @shaunair83 says our winters are no where like yours. I am in Texas. The closest we got to your winter was snow-vid back😂 in 21. The whole state shut down even the electric. 🤣

We just had a cold front move through and the temp drop into the 40s and 50s. Today we are back up to 70s.

@AmbersWay sorry to see you are having a hard time with medication. Hopefully you are doing better.

Unfortunately I have run out of time for now. Have to get house cleaned up before tomorrow We are having family over for Lunch or I my case early dinner. I only eat once a day.
For those interested the Fitbark is very similar to a fitbit but for dogs and cats. Yes a GPS can be used with it with a subscription. I don't have that. But it does let me know if Diesel is meeting his goal on points for the day.12wrci02jgbh.jpg
kmirlkkt8fw9.jpg it also will sync with fitbit so I can compare my day with his.

Will be a busy day tomorrow so will just post WI. I Will jump back in on Monday.
Have a great day and 🐰HAPPY EASTER🐇 to everyone!

@micaroo4 Way to go on getting the stretching in! I throw it at the end of my workouts, for some reason stretching or yoga is harder for me to get motivated for than cardio or weights but I agree it is worth doing daily.

@tammymccrady6278 Yes you're stuck with us now, great to see you checking in!

@trooworld That's a good call to enjoy Easter like that, it all sounds awesome! Thank you. Yay, congratulations on Violet! I'm so happy for you all! Haha Violet's definitely looking sad that you're being so boring doing work sitting in one place and not playing with her!

@txcritter69 Very true! Hope you have a wonderful time with your family tomorrow. OK now how is Fitbark tracked, is it on a collar? I love seeing his photo and stats, lol! That would be great for my brother's dog but I was wondering with my cats, they sleep all the time so probably wouldn't burn much.

Hi team, hope you're all doing well! I was at the food bank farm this morning then came home and took a nap (was up late with heartburn). I met a friend for ice cream and now I'm catching up here and have some work to do. Tomorrow I'm headed to my parent's house mid-afternoon. I wasted sunshine sleeping but really needed it, there's a ton to do in the yard too. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter and Sunday.

Hello my friends. This is just a quick check in tonight, I am pooped! I managed to get 80% of both of the cooking and housecleaning done today. Even managed to give Vannie a bath tonight.

I stayed right on track with my food , didn’t even do the slightest little bit of taste testing (I was afraid that that might be a slippery slope for me so I avoided it totally). That is good for me, could be bad for my guests, as I have no idea what that cheese ball is going to taste like, or the roasted carrots, really hoping the seasonings are OK and they aren’t too bland. lol.
I did both a spin class and my weight training this morning, a good 10 minute stretch in after my workout.
Hope everybody has a great Easter and I probably won’t check in again until Monday.

YAY @trooworld CONGRATULATIONS on adopting Violet!!!

    Happy Easter everyone!!
I did get to read all posts. I got a little behind.
I’m not tagging all today as it’s harder on my phone than the computer. Yay on the
    adoption of violet.
    Diesel is adorable.
@digger61 that’s an awesome loss. Keep it up!
We do have some snow left but a good bunch has melted. The dog is a mess after a walk but I’m so happy to not have to wear boots again. Sorry for the broken record on winter but it consumes most of my year and I get so jealous of everyone else who are
already planting and doing yard stuff. I added a photo of my yard.

    Good Morning!

Just wanted to jump in a say CONGRATULATIONS to all that lost weigth this week!

@Katmary71 about the Fitbark yes it is a small tracker worn to the collar.

@sleepygirl79 I hope the snow melts soon. I don't ever think I can live in a place that has that much snow.

@DrewsAnna I am so glad to see you are doing so much better. Take it easy jumping back in and listen to your body.

I bought the Renph tape measure to go along with my scale. Did my measurements last week and will do this every 2 week. I also cleaned our rec room and found my bow flex yesterday. So, the plan is to start using it every morning after Diesel and I get our morning walk in. No more excuses. The only way this weight is coming off is to make it come off.
Today's goal is to enjoy family as they come first! With all the food that will be here today, I will long every bit of it that I eat no matter what.
Tomorrow Diesel and I start our walking everyday. Sunday's are my rest days so today is a gimme.

    HAPPY EASTER 🐰

Before we get to the results, I want to take a second to sprinkle some science on you:

A pound is approximately 3500 calories. Gained or lost, that does not change. Seeing a whoosh, in either direction, from time to time, is typically indicative of water weight.
And water weight? That's a sign that your body is processing what you have put into it, whether that be filtering salt and sugar, repairing muscles, filtering toxins, pushing through illness, etc.
Your body does not know that you are trying to lose fat, it just wants to keep you alive. That's all.

@GabiV125 - thanks for sharing that. Who needs fancy when the little things work?!

@Katmary71 - I'm so sorry about all your trouble at the pain clinic. As usual you are standing up for yourself and being positive. You are amazing!

@micaroo4 - I felt so good after stretching one day this week that I am looking forward to my next session. I would like to do it more regularly too, but I figure that starting any place is better than procrastinating. Also, I think this will help me learn some favorite stretches so I can create some routines of my own. Good luck!

@tammymccrady6278 - Glad to see you- we miss you when you are busy!

@trooworld - Violet is beautiful. My husband saw her pic and said that her tail looks like a donut, although I would vote for cinnamon roll- :) So cute.

@laurelfit57 - you have been so busy getting ready, I bet you crash tonight. And working out too- wow!

@sleepygirl79- I used to live in WI, further south than you I think, but still quite snowy. That is too much snow for April!

@DrewsAnna - Glad you are feeling better. I hope all those "Easter Grapes" are gone. You have good goals and it's good that you went back to check progress and press "Reset". One of the things I learned last year is that if you are not keeping track of how you are doing in some way, you are going to drift and not get anywhere. At least that is true for me.

@txcritter69 - sounds like you are ready to GO Monday morning. :)

Haven't been posting, not much new here really. Same old story. Same old song. Trying to get my act together. I challenged myself to lose 7 pounds in 90 days. 60 days are gone. I've lost 2. And that's OK. I'm not going to quit because things got messed up, I'm going to figure it out and make things work. I think the problem is that I'm not doing ALL the things at the same time- something is always off kilter. I need some new pants and I really don't want to buy new in my current size.

    Happy Easter!

    Lisa

    MISCHIEVOUS DOG TALK--

I thought I'd put this separate so those who don't care can just scroll on by. I love Gus. He is cute and sweet and as @laurelfit57 said "unequivocally Gus"

He's now 9 months. We've had him for 2. We are still struggling with leash walking. He understands it, but if he gets distracted, OFF goes his brain and then we are done. And there are so many distractions, people, crows, squirrels, trash cans, smells! Today when my husband reached into the treat bag for him, he would leap into the air. He's never done that before and it was hilarious. On top of this- he has some separation anxiety. We are working on that and he can now be alone for 13 min......

Anyway- between the two, my hubs and I really miss our daily walks together. And that was something we didn't think we'd be giving up when we got a dog.

On the positive side- he was SUPER easy to house train. Thank goodness.

We will get there. He's going to be a good dog. I think everyone hits a point like this when training a dog.

Someone else vent so I don't feel alone. :)

🎉Well done to our leaderboard makers!!!🎉

Love the note 🗒️ on the leaderboard. Water weight!

@askewcr oh dear! I hope you get some relief. Big HUGS!

@Cornanda oh my Gus is a handful of fun. We went through the puppy months and oh my was it something. So glad to be past those crazy days 🤪

I so feel you on the goals and things happening. Definitely don’t quit, just regroup and carry on. That’s what I tell myself. The challenges help me a lot too. They push me to get moving.

@trooworld congrats on getting back to tracking. You sound so busy. Holidays keep us on our toes, don’t they? I hope you had a lovely Easter.

Oh husbands and kids with caps! Mine are constantly putting things back half closed. I’m sure this is what started me talking to myself. 😂

I’m going back a bit. Another Hungarian. Yay! Our house was so traditional. My grandmother was from Belgium but she did everything Hungarian. I miss those days. Back when I could eat it all and it not make a difference in lbs. 🤪 Today at the hospital the Ultrasound tech was so confused by my 11 letter last name. I told her Hungarian and she was like ahhh. Typically they think Russian.

@tammymccrady6278 glad to see you back.

@txcritter69 a renph tape measure???? I need one of those! Thanks for sharing. I never looked past my scale. Sounds like you have a good plan set for you and Diesel. Thanks for sharing fitbark. I need to look into it for my girls. I have apple airtags on them but would love to see their amount of exercise.

@DrewsAnna you crack me up, Easter grapes! I will forever call jellybeans Easter grapes and credit you. 😂

I pray your biopsy goes well and perfect results. ❤️

@sleepygirl79 wow that’s still quite a bit of snow!! I can imagine it gets old. I love snow and search it out in the winter, it’s been years since I lived in weather like yours.

@laurelfit57 well done on skipping the taste tests. SO MANY OF US (me, I mean me) don’t count those extra calories and boy can they add up.

@Katmary71 I hope you had a lovely Easter with your family. I want to thank you for the Sydney Cummings videos. My arms, chest and back were feeling it. Definitely what I was looking for.

Well, my WI was disappointing yesterday but today looks good. 😂 the luck. I know my exercise was great but I had some foods that I know slow things down. I haven’t meal prepped this week and it shows. I’m ready though, I went grocery shopping and today is the day!

I had my abdominal U/S today and the gal 2nd the 2nd opinion that the abdominal cyst doesn't look to be from where they thought. Which I hope may be better news, possibly. Maybe then they can aspirate it and I can move on. They can’t do surgery, since I’m considered high risk for surgery. So tomorrow I see the doc for all my results. Wohoo! Plus maybe he’ll take me down to my neuro doc to discuss my medication. Doesn’t hurt to ask again. Then I am done until summer break when I am back in Istanbul to see my surgeon there. Oh the fun. This is my every 6 months here and then a check up in the summer. Wohoo. Still thankful though.

Other than that, happy, nauseated, woozy and chilled out. Kids and hubby are great. Doggies are getting spa dates at the end of the week. Happy me! Well I’d be happier if I got the spa date. 😆

Just hopping on to let you all know I contacted support about the issues with the app and website. They seem to be aware of the issue, but don’t have any immediate resolution ejwtuelpcx5i.png
