Since getting back from Cancun I cannot get back in a groove, ugh.
I had an interview and was offered a part time job. It’s 1.6 miles from the house so I will be walking with purpose 3 miles each day I work. I will find out Monday what my hours are.
I also had a meet and greet to walk a couple of dogs twice a week which would be a minimum of 1, max of 5 miles each walk. The pups are young so I see longer walks until the weather gets too hot in the day.
@jugar please may I go on the support team until I get into a routine and see what my new normal is.

Thanks for the well wishes but unfortunately my maybe cold turned into a definite one.
I worked from home today to avoid spreading my germs. I feel blah. Hope Brad isn't next... he was okay today and went into the office but said he was feeling achy (my first symptom!)
I hate slowing down but I'm giving my body the rest it needs.5 -

I sure walked my legs off today! I always forget how good Montreal can be for walking miles and miles. I walked over "the mountain" - the big park at the heart of the city with all kinds of amazing views and no traffic noise. Then I walked across town back to where I'm staying. Probably a good 10 miles - it's a beautiful day and I did not want to spend any more time in the métro (subway). Getting up to the park involves really long stairways too, so I feel good about the legwork today.
I had an odd suppertime problem, though. I was hungry on the second walk and thought I'd just find somewhere to stop for a meal before getting back to the hotel I'm staying tonight. I could not bring myself to go into a single restaurant. I think I have been out of circulation for too long! The hungrier I got, the less I wanted to go into anywhere to eat. Weird. They looked good, and there were people, but I balked... So finally I just got some takeout right near the hotel and ate in my room. It was not very wonderful, but it filled the spaces. So now stretching, vegging, and early bedtime. It will be a very early start tomorrow.
Thursday folks? I know you're ready. And anyone left from today as well:

I been having a lot of 'diet fatigue' this week, much like the week before. I haven't been tracking my food as diligently and have been allowing myself too many treats, hence the gain. I need to find a way to get my mojo back before things get out of control. I also haven't been feeling very well for the last 10 days or so, hopefully just a bug, but it's making me feel quite low and negative, so that's been affecting my attitude towards my health goals. Hopefully it'll pass and I'll get my bounce back soon.6 -

@ashleycarole86 nooo, I hope you fight it off quickly and Brad doesn't come down with it too.
@lorraineGB congratulations on your new job! I hope you enjoy it
@jugar the walking sounds wonderful. Our weather just isn't there yet (I am definitely a fair weather walker right now!) but soon.
- alarm is set for 6am, work out before work ✅✅✅
- track every bit of food intake (ideally at the time) ✅✅
- limit treat foods to 1x medium sugar, 1x high sugar per day ✅✅
- Increase fibre intake by adding more fruit/veg ✅✅
- 3-3.5L water a day and no fizzy/energy drink ✅✅
Again I think lower than I expected on the water intake (but only water) although I've felt thirsty several times. Plain water - even if I've put fruit in it to add some flavour - just doesn't do it for me. If I can't get into the swing of it, I'll probably start 'forcing' myself by setting reminders to drink X amount by Y time - I'm not sure how else to tackle it. How do you all increase your water intake?4 -
@DD265 I take four half litre bottles and put them on the side in the kitchen. I know I have to drink them throughout the day. Sometimes it’s easy, most often it’s not but having them in sight helps with getting through them. Often I’m drinking the last one in the evening and know that’s going to cause a 3am loo run 🤷🏼♀️6

No change unfortunately @jugar
In other news I'm still really enjoying jewelry making, I'm combining my love of water and nature and making some pieces for sea glass I find! Here's one of my necklaces I made recently ❤️ if anyone is interested, here's my etsy: GorgesWireDesign.etsy.com

@DD265 I get my water in my drinking it in a cup with a straw. For whatever reason, I drink a lot more if a straw is involved. Maybe from when I had the swirley straws as a kid 😂
@AshenMoon that necklace is beautiful! I love sea glass. The beach is definitely my happy place! 🌊
I had an ok day today, not perfect, but I did meet my step goal and went to the gym. Definitely a non-zero day!5 -
Yo ho gang! I made it to Alberta - had a fairly good day for food and walking, and now I'm going to fall into bed. It's so good to be here!

@jugar - may I weigh in on Saturday this week instead of today?
We got takeout last night because my husband thought it would be a good idea to bring the ac units up from the basement, and do some other work around the house. Before I knew it, we didn’t even have the rice prepped and it was already 7:30 pm. He does this sometimes where he’ll start working on a task that I think will only take 15 minutes (I thought he was just bringing the ac units upstairs and that was that), and then he’s still working on it but it’s an hour or more later. Our takeout order was also wrong but we didn’t care because we were so hungry, so I think my weight may be up because of the sodium content and I’d like to give it a day to sort itself out.

So there it is, the ugly truth of when you don’t track, exercise or get on the scale for two and a half weeks. Also had Mexican and beer yesterday, it wasn’t intentional, we were on a road trip and stopped for lunch.7 -

I also tend to drink more with a straw. But sometimes I get tired of that too. I like to put berries or cucumbers and mint in my water. It's always more fun like that.
All week I thought it was ThursdaY, then I missed coming on here on actual Thursday.
My son is all moved into his new apt. Lots of packing this weekend I'm sure for us. Closing on our new home is TuesdaY.
@jugar Glad you made it to your daughter's
@ashleycarole86 Hope you feel better soon. Brad too.
@LoraineGB It was a vacation and now it is back to it. You know what to do. We believe you can do it. Make one small change, go for one perfect day. Do something today for your future self. No beating yourself up for enjoying your vacation.

@LoraineGB
I have been there... you had what sounds like an amazing time. Hope it was everything you hoped for. Now you're back and you know what leads to success. Do that, often. You'll be back to where you were before you left, I know it.
I am not doing what I need and I'm still holding on to my gain from Costa Rica. Don't be me!!
Still sore and achy... but I got my 10K steps today.. I am supposed to be getting on the bike but I'm not feeling well. Hopefully tomorrow!!5 -

I managed to drink my water, track and exercise yesterday. Now to build on it today with better choices and to stay under calorie goal. Tomorrow me needs this.4 -
CW 193.2.
Bad food decisions happened the last 2 days so I haven't managed to get back to March's successful numbers.
Physical activity is ramping up, I collected 3 truckloads of field stones from a neighbor and I will be making a higher retaining wall with them at my driveway this morning, and tomorrow is a other 2 back to back hockey games as our season finals. Thursday also had 2 games which led to the over eating after so I will be better prepared this time and bring snacks for between games so I won't have eyes bigger than my stomach (or wallet!) after the games.6 -

I had a long talk with my husband this morning about how I feel about my body. We have also been discussing expanding our family, and I told him that I want to focus on my health now more than ever. So, this morning I’ve looked up dietitians in the area and will start reaching out to schedule appointments.9 -
Happy Saturday! I completely missed getting on here yesterday - we had an action-packed day. After wild and chaotic preparations, we had a birthday party for my daughter's boyfriend - complete with many kids from 3 - 15, all-afternoon and evening snacking, cake (I did skip that part...), crazy singing, horse rides for the kids, etc. etc. It was fun to meet the BFs family (he was not expecting them to show up!), but it was chaos central for the whole day.
So! These are the remaining weigh-ins due for the week:

I'm skipping this week - there is no scale here (thank heavens)8 -

So on Tuesday I stopped eating gluten - my stomach has been weird for a long time and I am finally just starting to feel some relief. I’ve always been a whole wheat kinda gal making my own bread and healthy pumpkin/banana bread. Thus the whoosh of weight loss. I’ve been relying on oatmeal, sweet potatoes and potatoes as my
starch. I’ll continue eating this way and report next week how it’s working! I’m most excited to see if my stomach continues to feel better. Appt with surgeon next Friday. I did find out our hospital offers the robotic Da Vinci procedure which is usually a tiny 1/2 incision so I’m going to try and push for that. The less invasive, the
better! And…thank you all for well wishes and advice! So much appreciated!!!
Have a great week everyone!!8 -

It's the Ides of April already and I've hardly checked in with you at all this month. There are at least 6 pages to catch up on but I decided to jump into the day before doing that.
I can safely say that I've been binge eating, especially ice cream at night. Some of that directly relates to my OH's work schedule moving to a late night shift and my daughter moving to her own apartment thereby giving me a lot of evening time to myself. I lost the desire to pursue anything except making my tomorrow self a little less happy, etc.
Well, today I'm happy to report a positive upswing. Besides the weather getting warmer in Vermont, I was offered and accepted the Program Assistant position for Volunteers in Action, a "neighbors helping neighbors" organization located 1 mile from my house. It'll be a better work situation with less heat and humidity than the indoor pool environment. At the end of the month, I'll have my once-every-5-yr-colonoscopy exam combined with endoscopy to verify whether or not I have celiac issues. When all that is completed, I'll start my new position May 1st, keeping the pool position on a per diem basis for a month or so until they find a replacement. I'm going to start regular walking outdoors again, now that the footing is more predictable.
OK. Onwards to the outdoors for a walk before OH goes to work. We've got some other chores to do outside and then I'll reorganize the living room. I love moving things around...way easier than full household moves, for sure!
Have a lovely weekend, lovely teammates. I'll return to your updates sooner than later.
