How odd to finally have a non-sideways photo on my account! When I added it, I didn't see any cropping tools but I think you'll know who I am by proximity to the camera lens.
It's been a beautiful week weather wise, which has been hugely helpful during these first days without our brother. He used to call himself "UB", which stood for "ugly brother". Ridiculous and far from the truth but we'd all chuckle in spite of that.
My younger daughter stopped by to help cheer me up last night and we had fun making frenchbread pizzas (homemade sauce) with all sorts of goodies plus a delicious salad made with chopped red cabbage marinated in apple cider vinegar and thinly sliced radish on a bed of spicy sprouts. We then watched the 2nd movie from The Hunger Games. I saw it years ago but hadn't remembered much of it so that was fine. Monica hadn't seen it but watched the first movie the night before.
Weigh in tomorrow or at least by Saturday morning. I'll be getting some more moving in today what with switching around the living room furniture and replanting some pansies we bought last weekend.
My garden boxes aren't anything close to those of @jugar , but we'll get something into them soon...maybe. I'm not really engaged with life at the moment. This too shall change, I'm sure. I'll hang out some laundry and take a walk to our local pond and read a book or something...perhaps just meditate. To be determined.
Have a lovely Thursday, everyone.

PS: I love seeing the pics, @jugar. It's been too long since seeing your place in person!4

Hi everyone! @jugar the photo is so beautiful. Your own Walden Pond. We are still working on settling into our home. It's a lot harder when you work full time. Looking forward to summer vacation. It's been a little crazy. Tuesday evening my son in law was helping us with our overgrown lawn and practically cut his ring finger off in the mower blade. He is still in a bit of pain and the finger will not. quite look the same for sure, but thankful they could reattach and it wasn't more fingers or the hand. So yeah a bit crazy.
I need to reel myself in and get a plan for exercise and self care and probably logging my food. And water. I am finding some days I almost forget to drink. With a longer commute, like Courtney, I need to be careful. I am up a little. My floors are very different and I wonder if that has an effect on the measurement too. I move the scale a lot and that also doesn't help,
Love reading the posts I was able to catch up on. I look forward to digging in my garden as well and getting something going before it is too late. Busy, busy, busy. I also MUST make time to walk around my new pretty neighborhood.
Talk to you soon.5 -

We've got this! I just got off the exercise bike, all nice and sweaty and ready for a quick shower and hopefully a green weigh-in tomorrow morning. This has been the first week in a while that I have really hit my exercise goals every day. Feels good - I'm so glad I don't have all that work complication in the way! Hats off to all of you who juggle so much.4 -

May I take a pass this week? I think my scale is broken or my floors are wildly even…. I moved my scale slightly around and it would change by 10+ pounds.3 -
So, I've just read about 5 pages of posts...I had so much to catch up on...I started comments on postings but if I posted it, it would likely take UP a whole page. This really is such a wonderful group. I've run out of time, off to work, but was happy to spend an hour with my coffee and you... all the varied situations and challenges we face along with good ideas and strategies.
@jugar and @EvMakesChanges I am really so sorry to hear of your brother. Hugs to both of you.6 -

slight rebound but that's ok. physical activity is on the rise and my mental state is getting better. I've made appointments with medical and psychological professionals to help me move forward on a diagnosis of ADHD and get a working plan to organize my life and thoughts so I can find my happy again and stop feeling like a failure when likely from an outward perspective I'm overachieving.
The way we view ourselves and the way the world sees us are rarely the same, are they?
The latest tool I'm using is time blocking, where I break down my tasks into smaller intervals with white noise, beeps and timers to draw my focus back to the screen when I begin to wander and help me block out extraneous stuff, while getting a sense of achievement when I complete the baby steps. I used it yesterday and finally got projects off my desk that had been dragging me down.
Happy (North American) Mother's Day weekend to all the kid moms, pet moms, plant moms, foster and stepmoms out there. I hope you get a break and some recognition this weekend. (that doesn't end up just being more work for you!! - I'm looking at YOU toddler moms!)6 -

Yikes! No problem. Try changing the batteries? Sometimes they get wonky when the batteries are weak.2 -

@jugar love that you 'kidnap' kids and such fun having a young energy around. I imagine the two of you have a great time together. When I see my sister with her toddler I'm reminded how much energy they have compared to my 8 year old.
@ashleycarole86 @DianaGetsFit512 -there is a website you can register for challenges, it's free or you can pay to upgrade. I'm doing the 2 rides/2 runs starting mid June with PZP but this one sounds daunting. I find if I ride more my legs are too sore. I've heard of some doing a virtual bike fitting and think it's something I should consider if I want to bike more.
I'm so glad it's Friday, my husband has been working more OT this week and with my course I've started I've been sitting too much trying to get some assignments done early. My steps have not been like last week but I'm trying not to do too much and start feeling overwhelmed, that's when I start sabotaging myself.
Happy Mothers Day weekend to all you fantastic Mom's, dog moms, step-moms ect.

@PlaneMonkey it is so good to hear you in a more upbeat place - the task blocking and other tools sound really interesting. The most important bit, though, is that rush you feel when you clear something off your task list that has been lingering there for too long. It is amazing how much stress is caused by unfinished business, so any tool that helps you sweep that stuff away is worth its weight in gold!
And yes. You are something of an overachiever. I often channel an image of you when I'm outside doing anything effortful - all those rocks you have moved! Inspiring I think one of the hardest things about moving from a hands-on job like you had to the office-based managerial level is exactly what you are battling. The hands-on work is clear, active, has to be done in a certain order, and it takes all the attention of both your mind and your body. The office work doesn't use your body except in very limited ways, so your body is really, really bored. Distractions happen and the "look a squirrel" thing kicks right in. I totally understand that you feel dissatisfied when your body is unengaged in the work. I'm not sure I'd call that ADHD, but I'm no doctor! I just know that when I'm doing things that are not very physical, my bored body gets my attention somehow no matter what. It sounds like you're finding a better balance, though - and your white noise and other tools to bring you back to a task so that you can get it done sound great. Then you can get up and move more
I had a less active day by my steps today, but a few hours rehearsing, even though sitting, kept me busy. It felt good to play a lot, but it turned into a "free day" food-wise and by the time I got home there were thunderstorms and telephone calls to keep me from getting in a good walk outside I don't mind having a free day sometimes, and I have remained alcohol free since the 2nd, which is feeling really good. I like a good break any time it starts to feel like I "need" a glass of something to relax or whatever. But then I can eat more
Let's cruise into a lovely weekend!4 -

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay with my weigh in @jugar, it has not been a great week for me. I fell over on on one of my fast exercise walks and that has put me out of action for most of the week!
I'm hoping I'll be back to my normal level of activity next week!3 -

Tuesday is goodbye to Ms. Gallbladder so I think I’m all prepared - shopped for BRAT type foods for after - lots of bananas and apples, rice cakes, soup and I always have lots of oatmeal at home. I will probably make some GF bread dough later today and freeze in case I need extra carbs oh and Ginger Ale! Trying to stay somewhat healthy yet have the convenience of sodium rich foods with genetically engineered foods - don’t get me started!!! I haven’t been buying much premade foods and the ingredients just bother me so much! I don’t want them in my body!! 😂
But now back to get caught up on all your posts! Hope you all have a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all of you that love and care for children and pets!!6 -

Another week of being on the road and restaurant eating. Excuses? For sure! 2 more to go before getting a break and being able to more accurately track my eating.4
