Downsizers Team Chat - MAY 2023

Fell off the rails the last couple of days. Tuesday it started with my routine being different. It finished with me going to the grocery store hungry, but without the calorie budget to justify the treats bought at the store and then promptly eaten. Went way over with reckless abandon. (Kind of scary how easily I could revert to old habits. I guess those habits are not yet "old" enough to be in the rear view mirror). Wednesday I was still doing a bit of the same, then I got some sad news, so any sort of semblance to reigning it in was lost. I will try again today.
It’s so easy to over buy when hungry at the supermarket. I understand emotional eating when getting sad news. Try your best. As long as you keep trying you are successful.lindamtuck2018 wrote: »Steps: 3,843

I had a better day yesterday. Still some random tears, but not reaching for food. I went to work and forgot my Fitbit, (very frustrating) so I would never know exactly how many calories I had to work with for the day. You'll appreciate this, @lindamtuck2018, I turned down a Timbit because I didn't have my Fitbit! Anyways I ate well, and was about 175 calories over without my work steps. So, even though I was technically in the red, I figured I was actually in the green.6

Weigh In Day: Sunday, May 21st
PW (Previous Weight): 135.3lb
CW (Current Weight): 134.7lb
In about 2 weeks I will be with my mother and brother. Last time I saw them was 4 or 5 years ago. I'm getting very excited and probably for this reason last Friday I was craving for food like crazy. Yesterday I did a kind of fasting to compensate for the extra calories consumed the day before.
Wishing everyone a good week!🤗4 -

Hello Downsizers and thanks for the warm welcome. I come from the Biggest Loser group but after the inactivity there, I'm happy I've found a new home.
About me:
Married with 3 children...youngest is 2. (+stress)
Navy veteran so I'm familiar with exercise. We just haven't been seeing eye-to-eye lately
Currently in Nursing school and on track to finish next May (+stress)
Highest weight ever is 275 and I reached it again recently...I'm now down to about 269. My goal is under 200.
Obesity and hypertension is prevalent in African Americans like myself and I recently got my BP taken and it was 146/103...it was also a day before finals (+stress)
I got this...we got this.

Hello Downsizers! My name is Mike, and I live in Iowa, though I travel all over the US for work. It's tough to exercise and eat well when i travel, but I'm making it work.
I'm 56 years old and have yoyoed for years. Anywhere from 290 lbs down to 225. I'm looking to make a permanent lifestyle change. I weighed in at 252.2 today after a big walk with the dog. I have a few medical tests this week, but it should work out.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and wish everyone good luck on their journeys. Thanks in advance for the support.
Regards,
