Well this is the last day of my vacation and it’s back to work tomorrow. I had a fantastic time with my kids and grandkids and was sad to go. Like I said I forgot to weigh in on Saturday like normal but do hope I can still be part of the weight loss challenge each week. @broncobuddee is this still possible? Going by the scale I actually managed to lose a pound while away which is in my opinion amazing lol. It is so hard to stay on track while eating out and other peoples cooking. Before I left I got all my flowers done and the beds turned out great. Today is clean house day for the week. I really hate doing the big things when I get home from work. All I want to do is relax and putter in the evenings. I’m going to post a couple pics from my vacation let’s see if I do it right ahaha.2

I’m going to take a break for a couple of weeks, I hope that is ok. Just too many stressors going on right now. I hope to be back for June 18 weigh in.7

@tammymccrady6278 What cuties! Looks like a great time was had by all. Glad you had a great vacation.1

Good Morning folks!
CONGRATULATIONS to all you losers😜
Just doing a quick check in.
We made to Silver City NM. yesterday evening. Just sitting here this morning drinking coffee waking up. Dinner last night was as healthy as I could get. Grilled trout with wild rice and steamed broccoli, squash and green beans.
Today we have some site seeing planned.5 -
Here I am, catching up again!
@ddainiak awesome pictures! Looks beautiful!
@megnolia82 I too struggle with grazing. It really took me tracking everything to see how much extra I was eating with that grazing. It is really hard though!
@gjaholy33 so glad to hear your heart is doing better! How exciting for you!
I haven't done a proper intro on myself for a bit. Here goes:
I'm a 44 year old mom to 2 boys (15, 8) and been married for almost 16 years. I work full time in Manitoba Canada as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. I've been struggling with weight for awhile and want to finally get it down before my metabolism totally tanks. I tend to struggle with little snacks here and there (mostly evenings), as well as my sweet tooth. I have a 4 year old Golden Retriever who takes me for walks every night regardless on the weather. Since COVID, I've started trying to run again in the warmer months and would like to get up to 5km again. I run periodically during April-Oct, and am in my 3 year of doing so. Still aiming for 5km though.
I really felt like a run last night, but the weather has been sooo hot! I went for an extra long walk last night instead. Trying to stay mostly on track this week. Hubby will be away for about 4 days, and my youngest is going to camp for the weekend. That leaves my teen and me to fend for ourselves. I will have to try to make something decent for just the 2 of us. We also have our summer fair in town which means several temptations of fair food. I'm generally ok, but have a weakness for mini donuts or cotton candy. TOM is to arrive soon, so the chocolate cravings are fairly high too. Wish me luck!

@mkksemail No worries, you do not have to enter into the spreadsheet, broncobuddee does that. We just have to post our weights weekly here! Congrats on the loss!
Ah! Ok, ty!!
You are a reader ... love it! I haven't picked up my kindle in a very very long time. Thx fir reminding me of it.1 -
@shaunarlr83 I am intermittent fasting too; I shoot for 16 hours. It was tough at first, but now just part of my daily routine (been doing since February). I do have a cup of coffee with sugarfree creamer in the AM which I don't count as breaking the fast (can't seem to give that up). I don't know how much of my loss is contributed to it - but am continuing to do it since I am losing every week and don't want to mess with success. I don't get there every day, but 90% of the time I do.
I have noticed (in other challenges) that you are a consistent weight loss individual, and have wondered what strategy you were using. It's definitely a successful strategy for you! 👏0 -

@tammymccrady6278 All's good! If you have a weigh from the weekend, let me know. Otherwise, we can just pick up with this coming Saturday.0 -

Hi, all
I'm Deborah from Overland Park, KS. I'm 54 and I live with my husband, 1 son who just graduated from high school, and 2 cats. I never had issues with my weight until I reached middle age, but since my late thirties, I've been a classic yo-yo dieter. Last year I reached my hightest weight ever (I hope) and finally started thinking about this as a lifestyle change instead of a "diet". Diets have a finish line. A lifestyle change becomes part of who you are.
Since then the weight has been coming off slowly, in fits and starts. I've learned to sit out the plataues and give my body time to adjust. It's only been about 6 months that I've been doing it this way, but it's the first time I've had any sustained success this long without seeing the scale go back up, so I'm very encouraged. I don't follow any particular diet, but I do track my calories. I'm looking forward to participating in some of the callenges here, too.
Thanks again for the warm welcome and I look forward to being a part of this group.7 -

I'm new too. Welcome!3 -

Right where I want to be! But now I need to cut back a little bit and see how it goes next week. I do find it difficult to cut back after I've gotten off plan a bit. Tomorrow, I see the rheumatologist and on Thursday my hearing aids will get adjusted. I'm looking forward to that, I will also ask about training my brain to hear normal sounds as normal sounds again. I wear them from 8 in the morning until 10 at night which is more than the recommended 6 hours a day.
I built a contest room in my game for the Garden Contest, it's just a big green house with a lawn mower ride. I put 3440 items in that room. We start judging on the 6th which goes for 2 day's then we get the results. I'm excited to see all of the rooms, people are so creative.

Hello my dears
@FushiaKat wow, what’s the game called? That sounds so cool!
Wheezed through the day today since we are blanketed in forest fire smoke. They are nowhere near where I live but the winds are bringing the smoke our way. I’ve never seen anything like it. Anyone else experiencing this? I’m in Southwestern Ontario.
I have looked into intermittent fasting once in awhile. I’m not sure if I want to jump into it but today I skipped breakfast and didn’t have time for lunch until 1:00 then my sandwich was moldy so I tossed it and ended up eating just my grapefruit. Honestly I felt no hungrier than on a day I eat breakfast and have a snack at 11. We’ll see if I get into a routine.
Anyway hope you had a good day! Onto the next.3 -
@shaunarlr83 Welcome back! Congrats on the long fast!
@mkksemail Great job on your goals! Good luck on creaming your daughter and hubby!
@ddainiak You got a lot done, great walking and getting things accomplished!
@giaholy33 Happy Tuesday, that's great news about your heart, congratulations! I would definitely say your hard work is paying off, how exciting!
@trooworld I've read "What Happened to You" as well, it's a good book. How is Young Mungo going? I just started Galileo's Daughter and after a couple chapters started a Janet Evanovich as all the astronomy was too much on little sleep for my poor brain. Great job on salad instead of pizza!
@tammymccrady6278 Wow great job losing on vacation, that's amazing! It is hard doing things at night after a long day. All the kids are so beautiful, thanks for sharing.
@laurelfit57 That should be fine, take care my friend.
@txcritter69 Haha I used to make sure to always point out the top weight loss group were the best losers around, hard not to make jokes like that. That's a great job with dinner on vacation, wtg! Hope your day site seeing is beautiful.
@sleepygirl79 LOL I love your dog taking you for walks. Yikes fair coupled with TOM is pretty dangerous, maybe you should just fit a chocolate doughnut in your day now? Have fun just you and the teen, that should be fun to have some bonding time just the two of you.
@DebJB30 It sounds like you're doing a great job Deborah! Do you like being called Deb or Deborah? I think you're viewing things right as a lifestyle change too. Congratulations on your son's graduation!
@FushiaKat Good luck with both appointments this week. I love your greenhouse, good luck!
@megnolia82 Oh no the smoke sounds terrible, I have heard other friends on here saying how bad it is today as well. You don't realize how much it affects you until you're dealing with a lot of it. That's great on staying full today, wtg!
Hi team! I had trouble falling asleep then had a horrible nightmare, it was very Friday the 13th and I was so happy I woke up and got out of it. I wasn't going to go to the farm but was shaken and decided some farm time was needed so I just went for a little over an hour then picked up a Lowe's order (smaller bags of potting mix so I'm less likely to get hurt). Finished cleaning the house, it's been sprinkling all day so I didn't get anything done outside aside of taking the potting mix around on the hand truck so tomorrow's straightening up out there. Aside of that doing little things here and there and reading, I'm going to bed soon and will hopefully sleep wonderful tonight! I DID get an appointment this Saturday for the medication refills which is a relief. Have a great Wednesday!
Doing good with body mechanics but I catch myself screwing up a lot!4 -
Wishing you sweet dreams, kat.
Meg, I'm in Maine so I thought we might be impacted, but I haven't noticed anything! I wonder if the terrible-no-good-weather-that-plans-on-staying-around-until-Saturday 😝 is why I'm not seeing smoke from the fires?
Or perhaps the winds are sweeping it south of me? I dunno ...2 -
Hey y'all,
Just checking in. I have gained more weight this week. I have been getting plenty of exercise, the problem is everything that I'm putting in my mouth. I also haven't been logging any of my food until yesterday. I have to log it all, good and bad. In the past I have purposely not logged everything, because I didn't want anyone to see it. In order to be accountable, I also have to be honest. So, I'm logging it all good and bad. Weigh in is Thursday, I'm not looking forward to this.
I have also started journaling again, and I'm going to start crocheting again to keep my hands busy in the evenings when my sweet tooth and munchie mouth start nagging at me.
I'm really enjoying the stridekick challenges, thank you for starting those again. I really need them in my life.
Alright, y'all have a great evening. I'm going to go see if I can find the new habit tracker.4 -

@trooworld You sound like my daughter; she reads more than one book at a time too. I can't keep them straight. Currently reading the Shadow and Bone series by Leigh Bardugo. I'm on the second book - Siege and Storm. I read her Six of Crows series, which lead me to these. I like the Six of Crows better, but am enjoying these as well.
@gjaholy33 Great news, so glad for you. You got this.
2 -
Good morning everyone!
Goal #1: to check in twice daily.
I truly want to keep up with everyone’s news!
Goal # 2: thank you for the suggestion to just set 5 pound goals. I’m going to do that without been looking to the longer term. If I lose 5 pounds in a month or 6 months I’m still going to be in a better place than I have been for the past 6 months.
Have a good day today!5 -
@tammymccrady6278 I agree, it is very hard to stay on track while on vacation/at other people's houses. Awww, your grandkids are adorable! It looks like you had a great time. Thanks for posting.
@laurelfit57 Sure, I think @broncobuddee can do that for you? I hope your stress lessens.
@txcritter69 That sounds like a great dinner. Enjoy NM!
@sleepygirl79 Good luck with the fair food decisions!
@mkksemail I am! You are welcome.
@FushiaKat Wow, that's incredible! That's a lot of work. Good luck!
@Katmary71 How funny. I forgot I posted that I read that book and I posted it in our other group's discussion! Young Mungo is going good but slow. I've not had much time for physical reading lately. Thank you! Oh I hate when I have those kinds of nightmares that make me glad I woke up. Have a great day!
@DrewsAnna It sounds like you are fighting for it, you've got this.
@ddainiak Congrats on the loss! Yeah, it's a bad habit I have to read multiple books and SOMETIMES I get the plots mixed up lol. I read the first of the Shadow and Bone series and liked it. I may have to try the Six of Crows series, thanks!
Hi all. I had a late night last night: I had to go to the county fair for an awards ceremony, one of my paintings won 2nd place in its category. After that, we had to eat something quick so we stopped by the grocery store and got some salad packs. That was a good decision. I'm so tired today, it's going to be hard to stay on track but I'll do my best.
4th of July challenge: tracked 100% of what I ate
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."4 -
Welcome to the the new members and those returning 💐
Congratulations to all those who had a loss recently 🎉
I’m so behind in posts but am going take some time to catch up.
@ddainiak great photos! I have the upper northeast in the fall on my bucket list. I spend my summers in Istanbul and then pop back and forth often. It’s an amazing place. So much culture, history and places to enjoy. Thanks for the shout out. Onderland is a great place to be. It’s been a bit since Ive been there. Glad to be back, don’t plan on leaving. 😂 Monty's adorable.
@trooworld thanks for the shout out. I’m hopefully nearing that 50lb mark soon. Yippy! I think my post didn’t go through, probably didn’t disappear. Most likely my fault. Congratulations on your award.
@micaroo4 I hope Rich is feeling better. You’re still getting some decent steps in 👏🏻.
@mkksemail I think of calling my friend from Maine and her dad answered. We bought thought we were speaking different languages. He thought I was a foreigner. I still laugh, she had to tell him I’m from Indiana. Accents!
I live part time (hoping to transition soon) in Istanbul. Wow! These Turkish men are popular with the ladies. I’m amazed by how many are married to Americans/British gals. They have their own communities there. Many Americans moved to Turkey during the pandemic time. I was away and when I got back, English was everywhere. I did the biggest happy dance.
@FushiaKat Thanks for sharing about Muniere’s disease. I can only imagine how frustrating it can be for you. Wow, your garden contest entry is amazing. That’s a lot of work.
@Katmary71 Update on puppy, she has a bad ear infection, which didn’t present itself as early as I thought. She’s on meds now and seems more relaxed. The crazy old lady jumped out of the truck as soon as the door opened and almost hurt herself. She’s a chunk and shouldn’t jump that high.
Oh strawberries and cream sound great!! Great idea too. I’m invited to a bbq/pool/yoga party tomorrow at a friends. I’m bringing salads but that sounds nice too.
@shaunarlr83 you keep living life to the fullest, you inspire so many.
@gjaholy33 congrats on the test results. That’s amazing. You’re doing great.
@tammymccrady6278 what beautiful grans you have. Looks like you had a lovely vacay.
@DrewsAnna I’m glad your logging better. Don’t worry about others, we all have our slip ups. You can see mine. Know that we you see carbs on mine I will have a bad WI week.
Glad we have the stridekick challenges again too. I need them. Ive been strolling my room today. My calories were (Sick) so low yesterday. So I’m weak today, light on the exercises today.
——
I think I am all caught up. Sorry if I missed anyone.
Son had a rough exam today. He said everyone walked out unhappy. I feel bad for him, he studies all day long. It was a research course, thankfully he comes home happy from the medical courses/exams.
My youngest has her end of the year party tomorrow and main exams start next week. Wohoo!
I’m feeling better today. Sick twice in such a short period. That was rough! I was in so much pain I couldn’t speak and I’m tough. Glad to be on the mend. Hope this is it for the summer.
Trying to organize the house before I close it up for a while. Wohoo!!
No zeros:
I kept up with stretching while feeling unwell.
Pushed the fluids as best I could so I didn’t feel worse.
July challenge: logging fluids is getting somewhat better.
Have a great Wednesday 💐

Hello everyone. The members in this group are so optimistic and with gratitude happy to read all your posts that are not only inspirational but courageous when dealing with the daily challenges of living.
I am not much of a talker so it does follow through in my lack of posts. It is just who I am.

Welcome to June everyone!!
I will do a quick introduction/re-introduction since this is just my second month at this!
I am 50 years-old and married for 24 years. I have two step-daughters (29 & 30) and two sons (24 & 20). I am a big 'nerd'. I play many role-playing games, boardgames, miniature games, etc... I started playing Dungeons and Dragons when I was 10 or 11 and have been playing off and on since (I play in a weekly game at the moment). I have been at P&G for 28 years. My work is mainly standing at a lab bench or sitting at a computer.
I've been up and down with my weight my entire adult life. In 2006-2008 I actively tried to lose weight and was able to get down to ~180pounds (which I was quite happy with). However, I stopped watching what I was eating and ended up back at 270pounds. In 2019 I started WW and was able to get down to 225 pounds rather easily/quickly but have been stuck in the 220's for a few years.
I am starting to up my walking and going to slowly introducing running into my exercise routine.
I practice Intermittent Fasting most days (16-20 hours).
I know I can get there! I've done it before...just will just take time!

Wednesday ci - weather is still *kitten* out 😝, but I found out this morning that the *kitten* weather is a blessing in disguise. The low pressure system that's been parked over us since Fri night had kept the Canadian wildfire smoke clear of us. Maine's air quality is still in the green, while western new England, New York, NJ, and I'm not sure about southern new England are blanketed in hazy air, filled with particulates, that is bad to breathe.
Silver linings! 🤪
I had a dermatology appt this morning. Two pre-cancerous (small) spots next to, and above, right eye zapped. Everything else looks good, which is very good news for this Irish American 👏 .
I'm getting kind of worried about a polyp in my nose tho. Just started developing this Feb & March. Was a definite, visible polyp when I saw my doctor for a physical on Apr 25. She said it looked benign, smooth edges, but needed to be biopsied. ENT referral, but they were backed up 2-4 weeks, she said.
I hadn't heard from them yet, 5 or so weeks later, so I asked the dermatologist about it this afternoon. (The thing has grown 2-3x what it was on Apr 25th physical checkup date.) He appeared ... concerned. Described it as a mass rather than a polyp, and said he'd contact my doc about fast-tracking that ENT referral to an urgent status. 😬 It has become more concerning to me the last couple weeks, as well. Had several extended nosebleeds while I was out of town the last few weeks.6 -
What is the July 4th challenge, btw?
I love reading those posts, but I don't know that I know what it is? 🤪0
