It's amazing how much water weight I gained during vacation! Back to my normal routine and it came off, then some! I have a cruise coming up next month...I remember gaining 7 pounds 1 cruise and 10 pounds another. I'm hoping not to do that this time, but free food everywhere! Lol. I told my husband, it's vacation and I want to eat it all. His response, I have been on vacation for 30 years 😂 My thought is, if I enjoy myself a little on the cruise, as long as I get back to my normal habits when I get home, I should be fine.8 -

Sorry to be a day late with my weigh-in. I was up and out early yesterday for an orthodontist consult and forgot to weigh
. I'm glad to see some vacation bloat coming off. Had hoped for a little more, honestly, but I'll take it!
I've caught up on posts and am teary at all the support this group shows when one of us is having a hard time. Yall are amazing!
I'm reflecting a lot on how important it is to acknowledge the season I'm in when it comes to healthy habits and self-care. That means the actual season but also season of life/work/family/age, etc. The last 3 years have been full of change and it's been really hard to get into any routines for more than a few weeks. But, things are settling down in some areas and I am really embracing that and celebrating it.
I've already gotten my workout in for today. Now to get ready for work and put some miles on my under desk treadmill. I am way less stiff after a day at my desk and have less swelling in my ankles. My goals are for long term health and being active as much as weight so these are super great impacts for me.5 -
WHY do I constantly buy nuts, this week it was Honey roasted peanuts....
I can not control my portions when it comes to peanuts, sunflower seeds, pistachios and cashews.... Almonds I like also, but for some reason, I have no problem limiting them....
Anyway, yesterday was good, aside from the peanut debacle.... I didn't exercise, but I did go outside and have to lift up 2 huge pots, and the screens. The screens knocked over the pots, and then screens came off the hooks, and were just dangling... These are 8x 4 foot screens made with lattice and framed with 2x1's they are not light. This took place in a major thunderstorm, but I couldn't leave them... Anyway, that completely stressed me out last night, then it never stopped storming... Today I get to clean up the yard from all the sticks, branches, etc....
The radar said the storm was going to miss us, so I will be filing a formal complaint to the national weather service!
Today will be a good day, no exercise this morning, I had an appointment super early. But later my son is bringing my grandpuppy over, and I will be puppy sitting for the rest of the week.
Have a wonderful day !

@lauren_989 and @adrimango Great job on the post-vacay debloating Now keep up the good work and feel even more amazing!
@DD265 no problem - a week off it is. I'm wishing you some lovely moments of peace and deep breathing to help balance the exciting times you are currently surfing. You've got this!
@Gidgitgoescrzy oh heavens - honey roasted (or any other sweet and/or salt infested) peanuts, cashews, or pistachios are irresistible temptation incarnate. I agree that almonds are not as bad, but they can get me too if they are roasted and flavoured. I only buy raw nuts, roast a few (dry no salt or anything) at a time, and then they stay well under control. But yeah, they can be seriously evil. You needed the fuel for all that screen wrestling in the thunderstorms, though! What an epic battle Grandpuppy therapy will be just the thing.
I get "hot riding" instead of hot yoga today. We're having thunderstorms too, so Jasper and I will do a work session in the indoor arena. It gets really hot in there, but at least we won't be trying to work on canter transitions in big sloppy mud puddles. Horse slipping and falling under me is not on my bucket list.
Enjoy your day!6 -
I am so grateful for this group and you friends. Reading through some posts today made me realize how much I care about all of you. I’ve been with some of you almost daily for four years. That’s something. Time to make this work on another level and see some green. I am in a new season of life for sure. But ready for the changing of seasons soon both literal and my life.
Off to meet some friends for a good chat. Lunch, and maybe a swim. We bring our own lunch so that works.
Have a great day everyone!!❤️🤗🙂6 -
Greetings Team,
It's been a good day with eating, but I could have taken in some more water. And now I'm completely knackered (damn your eyes, MS!)
Fortunately, we've eaten supper early, so I see an early night ahead and taking myself off to bed with a book.
I hope everyone else has had a good day.5 -
What a day! Once each month, a mobile food bank (poorly named, "Veggie Van Gogh") delivers food to towns all over the state of Vermont. My department "Volunteers in Action"( includes "Meals on Wheels" in our local area), assists the band of food friends and people drive through and we load them up with potatoes, onions, celery, carrots, cob corn, eggs, sometimes cheese, etc. In June, we gave out food for 245 families, which was down from previous months. Last month, we cancelled due to likely flooding in much of the state. Today, we assisted 400 families. I'm grateful there were many more volunteers than just a few of us! I kept pretty well hydrated but didn't have much actual lunch. I ate the remaining serving of Triscuit crackers after delivering 9 families' food allotments and by the time I got home, decided to relax for a while in the "dry" A/C living room and drink a homemade tall glass of iced coffee (yes, with sugar and 2% milk). It tasted heavenly!
For supper, I made a 1-pan combo of lentils, carrots, garam marsala, 1/2 lb ground beef, chopped tomatoes with chiles, plus a secret ingredient of powdered peanut butter. It's amazing how 2 Tablespoons can partly thicken and "round out" those flavors without masking anything.
I had 1 1/2 servings and topped it off with some ice cream. I'm now about ready for bed.
Let's hope tomorrow is a calmer day.
Keep up the good vibes, y'all! We can do this together.6 -
Wow @EvMakesChanges ! What a day indeed. Sounds like your delicious dinner was very well deserved. It is fabulous how good food gets distributed to people in need, too. That is quite the undertaking and I'm sure many people thank you every day. WTG!
Here is the Wednesday line-up

Good morning WaistAways!
Today I'm up early, heading into the office and I have figured out a system to strap 64oz of water in 2 bottles onto my backpack so I can get it from home to work on the bus without it swinging around and hitting people or getting the stuff in my bag wet. I'm super proud! No excuses, except I have to drink it before 2pm so my commute home won't involve doing the 'pee-pee dance' while standing on the bus. Wish me luck!5 -

Okay, if you ever hear me say I want to get a puppy, slap some sense into me...
My goodness they are so much work, but atleast he will keep me busy for the next few days...
Yesterday was good, got my 10 minutes in and some. Had a dog escape, it was Toby, he turned 6 yesterday, he's so weird, so we have a big field behind my house, and if there are people with dogs out there, and I can't stop him in time, he will sometimes jump the fence, run a circle or 2 around them, then he comes back, sits and waits at the gate for me to let him in. He doesn't go up to anyone, bark at, or sniff, just runs a giant circle, and comes back and waits for me to open the fortress gate my husband created... But being an extra large pupper, he scares people, so it's very stressful... Needless to say he did NOT get his Birthday Ice Cream I made him...
Hope you have a great day !

Naughty Toby! @Gidgitgoescrzy he sounds like an extra fun one. I love that he'll jump the fence to get out, but sits to be let in through the gate. Just has to prove that he really is a good doggy. But dog birthday ice cream?? Frozen puréed meat and potatoes? Cream and liver flavour? Sounds, um, special. Happy puppy sitting
@PlaneMonkey you certainly are on top of your water jug game! I used to fight the swinging water bottle problem when hiking (before those cool camelback things came out), but at least there were no commuters to bash in the head. But the dance on the bus - definitely to be avoided
I have to go to Montreal tomorrow (ugh) so today is cram-in-all-the-things day. I need to practice, ride, exercise, fill the car with gas (double ugh), make a batch of yogurt... How did I work there for all those years? I'm getting spoiled in my retirement. Working 85 miles from home was kind of nuts, I now see.4 -
Hi Team!
Just a quick check in 😊
I'm petrified sitting in my car. In 10 minutes I have a gym induction. I'm so scared and nervous I feel like I am going to die.
Please wish me luck 🍀
I feel so fat ☹️🙄🤦8 -
@PlaneMonkey Way to the go with getting that 64 ounces attached. Carry the water is a challenge and the dreaded pee pee dance is a no fun effect of being so good about drinking our water.
@Gidgitgoescrazy Sorry you big pupper gave you stress, but your story made me laugh imagining it. Yes indeed puppies are work.
@EvMakesChanges Way to go serving 400 families. Such an important thing to make sure people have good food to eat. So much waste in our country here. My husband volunteers in Philadelphia doing a similar thing. That is a multi group distribution. Ours focuses on toiletries because SNAP doesn’t cover things like toilet paper.
I GOT ON MY MAT and did Pilates this morning. You know what? I felt better after doing it. So glad I did. A good step and I’m proud of myself. Also already drank 16 ounces of water.
Have a great day.5 -

Just so you know - the people getting the biggest cheers and smiles and well-wishes in a gym are the people who are SO BRAVE to go there because they feel like you do, but they go anyhow. They know it will make them feel as awesome as everyone there knows they are. You GO girl!! You're amazing. And you're not going to die
You remind me of an elevator ride I had in my first week at the conservatory where I studied. My roommate and I (both flutists) were going to the mandatory orchestra audition (=scary conductor with evil eye presiding). As we were arriving, my friend turned to me, grabbed my arms, and said "I'm going to pee on the stage!!!".
She didn't. We survived - and had some amazing times playing in that conservatory orchestra.5 -
@jugar Doggie Ice cream is Plain greek yogurt, Peanut Butter, Bananas, and Mint (sometimes). Blended and frozen, my puppers love it.6

I’m sure your gym induction is over by now.
How did it go? Just walking into the gym is a HUGE victory. So dang happy for you.
When you walked into the gym, you “leveled up 1%”. Any day you can level up by 1% is an awesome day.

So I was catching up on the posts and was excited to see this team has been together awhile. That says something great about all of you. I’m so happy to be included. Lol
I also noticed the timestamps on the posts. It seems like I make it six or more hours behind everyone. May I ask where everyone is from?5 -

Toni - we are from all over the place! You have added Hawaii to our globe-spanning ambitions. If you look on our spreadsheet, go to the WaistAways tab (at the bottom of the screen), scroll all the way over the the right and you'll see everyone's location (those who have shared it). I'm not very consistent - some are only by country, state/province, and some by city. The majority are in US and Canada, but there are some in the UK, and one each in Sénégal, Australia, and Brazil. We used to have more in Europe, but they have moved on it seems.
Here is the link if you want to check out the spreadsheet. It is always posted on the F2F home page if you lose track of it.
