HOW IT ALL WORKS: The Septemberchallenge runs for 4 weeks, from September 3 - 30. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard.
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Weigh in day Saturday
PW 208.4
CW 208.4
Hello September!
My name is Tammy and I am 55. I have two adult children and two beautiful grandchildren. The things I love to do besides eating lol cover anything from puttering in my flower beds to doing preserves and baking. I am a health professional who works with the vulnerable population and have true love love for it. Helping the elderly and hearing their stories I feel like I am somehow preserving the past. It is hard to explain. My weight battle has been most of my life and I have literally tried every fade diet known to man it seems. Finding is app and this group though has been my life saver I swear. I don’t post as much as I should but I do read all the posts and I faithfully do my weigh ins. You guys keep me honest with myself which believe me is so important. Being on here for a yr now I am down 40 lbs and many of my old habits have gone by the wayside and replaced with healthier ones. I have a ways to go yet but I know with everyone’s help I will get there. Have a wonderful day and enjoy this labour day weekend5 -
@tammymccrady6278 : Thank you for that beautiful (re)introduction! So many of us (notably, lots of us in “caregiving” roles) struggle far and long with our weight. Lifetimes, really. Your commitment and success are so inspiring and ‘just what the doctor ordered’ for me to read this morning (before the hot dogs start charring on the grill this weekend!). Note to self: stop, think it through, make a choice that says “I” matter, too.4

Howdy 🤠 All!
Is it fall now? Can I post some 🍁 🍃? I’m ready for cooler weather here. Bring on the 🎃!!!
Welcome to all the new members. I know that I had a post/response to a new/returning member who asked about my husbands accident and I got sidetracked. So sorry 😞
I’m a married mom of 3. 30 years this December. I’ve been with MFP for years and joined this group in December. MFP helped me lose a good amount of weight years ago. Some creeped back on after some major health issues and i am back to get them lbs off. Since joining the group for the January challenge I’ve lost close to 30lbs. Ive had my slow weeks, plateaus and struggles but the thankfully this group has kept me going. Thank you all.
For this weeks catch up…
Hubby had his 1st appt with orthopedics. Now onto Thoracic Surgery to see what’s next. He’s still in pain and struggles to find comfort despite improving.
Kids are all busy. I’m busy trying to keep up with everyone. Trying hard to keep up with my eating plan. My calories are alright but too many carbs lately. Trying to make better choices though.
No Zeros:
Naps! I’m wore out since the accident and now I am a firm believer in my naps!
Taking a few minutes at stressful moments to just breath and remind myself that I can do it.
Hope all of you are finding your way to keep going. 💐

Greetings Slims! You have a new member on the way. Please welcome @865jessica - thanks!1

Happy September! I busted the challenge for a few days, eating over goal and going crazy on some cookies.
But, hey-oh, today's another day. Speaking of which--I finally looked at the label of a favorite blueberry bar that's vegan (I'm not, but "mostly" vegetarian): 24 gms of sugar per bar! Harrumph. Will maybe just not eat them, or find a better sub.
Cool morning here in the mountains, it's way early for leaves to be changing and they say it might be an off year because of the hot summer. Bummer.
@AmbersWay : Bring on ALL the fall! Throw those leaves around! Fall is my favorite time of the year.
@broncobuddee : Hi and thanks for your response about the weigh-in day. I'll stick with Wednesday because that's the day I signed into MFP--I knew I chose it for some reason and the clue bird finally landed, lol.
@865jessica : Welcome!3 -

Hi there everyone,
I'm a stay at home mom of three boys and have been married for 13 years.
Last year I had a health scare where I developed Sepsis after surgery and was in the hospital for a while then had to have a PICC line in afterwards for a month. It scared me significantly and I vowed to make changes in my life. I want to feel strong and healthy.
I've been seeing a nurse practitioner since June who does a weight loss/ lifestyle management program. It's been going well. I've also just completed PT and it educated me on several exercises I can do at home to help me gain strength and I have been seeing a difference.
I look forward to supporting others and getting encouragement to continue on my new healthier lifestyle path.5 -
Hi everyone!
I’m a returning member of the Slimsons. Been at this journey yo-yoing but hopefully will get my butt in gear and go down to 110-120 area. SW was 228.8, CW is 212.6. I love to go to Zumba classes. Had taken a hiatus during COVID and working 2 jobs but down to one job and on call with the other so have some free time when I’m not taking classes towards my MBA. I have 3 fluffy huskies and a older bichon. They keep me going and on my toes.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

@865jessica Welcome to Mission Slimpossibles, your medical situation sounds scary I'm glad you're hear to talk about it and happy you're part of our group.
@Neon_Ninja Once you start tracking what's in food it's pretty scary, I was trying to eat healthy after my diabetes diagnosis so I was buying Greek yogurt and was shocked reading the back when one serving of Greek Gods yogurt was 33g of sugar/serving! I'm laughing typing this because of how clueless I was about what was really healthy then.
Hi friends, I'm Kathy and I'm Mission Slimpossibles team motivator. Our wonderful group leaders are @trooworld and @Broncobuddee . I'm 51 until the end of the month, live in the Sacramento, CA area, and have brother four-year-old cats. I've been part of this group since early 2019 and became a motivator that summer, love this group and I hope you will too! I'm about 75lbs down from my highest which was right after I'd quit smoking and had a double back fusion 15 years ago. I had been diagnosed with various health issues about 6 years ago and slowly started losing then joined MFP and got serious and got the rest of the extra weight off. I have my diabetes and liver issues in remission but am still struggling with chronic pain from spinal issues and nerve damage/CRPS. I'm currently waiting to see a neurosurgeon as one of the neck bulges in my neck is compressing my spine and I just found out I have 13 herniated discs. This group and my MFP friends have helped keep me sane through all of this and I'm so grateful for all of you to have a "normal" and healthy outlet that isn't stuffing my face! I love to read, garden, help with some claims filing, and volunteer at the food bank farm and with a charity in my town though the volunteering isn't happening as much these days.
No junk is going good! Have a great Sunday!3 -

Good morning, I'm Darren. I was in this group a while back, left, joined another group, got extremely negative and then asked to rejoin.
I'm a Christian, a husband, a dad, a Sofu and a friend.
My heaviest was over 312. I started this "journey" years ago after a friend approached me after church. I started "running". I say it in quotes because my run is slower than most people's walk. I have a marathon in October. I am currently on a carnivore diet. I've learned recently that carbs cause pain and inflammation in my body. With that said I miss a good soup and salad but I hurt afterwards.
I have a dry sense of humor.
I pray for you all whether you know it or not. Whether you want me to or not.
I am also a coffee lover. I used to like to try all types of coffee. However do to my son's seizures and wife's "stroke" and heart problems all we drink is decaf.
I'll end it there for now. If you wanna know more or yell at me send me a message. I'll reply back or yell back.
Have a blessed day.6 -
Happy September everyone!
I'm Stephanie, or Stevi (never Steph). I'm in Australia, so it's the start of spring here. I’m originally from Orange County, California, but have been in Australia for around 8 ½ years. This is definitely home now! I have two girls (daughter and stepdaughter) who have both recently turned 16 who motivate me to set a healthy example. My partner is also extremely supportive and encouraging, and I appreciate the hell out of him. Even when he eats an entire package of cookies in one day and doesn’t gain a gram.
Like a lot of people, I have a history of having a bad relationship with food, weight, and body image. My highest weight was around 100kg/220lbs, and with stress of my partner being diagnosed with bowel cancer at the start of the year, I've crept back up dangerously close to that. My partner is doing great and is cancer free (super rare tumor that was only in his appendix and hadn't spread) and I need to take care of myself now. I've (finally!) gotten to a point where I can look at a number on a scale and let it be just a number. That said, I haven't FELT healthy in a while, so with help from my doctor and dietitian I'm on a path to get fit. While weight is a decent indicator of where I'm at, I am solidly built so focusing on body fat percentage is more of a priority for me and a better indicator of overall health.
My biggest issue was chronically undereating (not intentionally, I honestly thought I was eating enough but when we worked it all out, a typical day was around 800 calories a day) with enough scattered high calorie days when we would get takeout or I would eat comfort food, or I would drink my calories in alcohol that my body has held on to everything I've given it. Knowing that now, I can clearly see that even though I thought I was full, my body wasn’t getting enough and that was leading to cravings and the higher calorie days. Trying a different approach, with a consistent and higher daily intake, though I should still be in a deficit. I do roughly follow the mediterranean diet as this is just how I prefer eating, and I love intermittent fasting. While I prefer ADF (alternate day fasting), my dietitian has advised against that until I feel confident that I am able to get enough calories on my eating days and don’t have any overly high calorie days. For the moment, I have an 8 hour window daily and a calorie goal of 1400-1600 with a macro split of 40f/30p/30c, and no alcohol. Will meet back and re-evaluate in about a week and will revise as needed.
I’m generally pretty active as well. While this year so far has not been “normal”, I typically do 1-2 short workouts 5-6 days per week. On the weekends I can be found out hiking, at the beach, or riding dirtbikes with the family.
Goals for September:
• log everything, every day!
• stay within my calorie target
• get my macros within 5% of the target
• get back in the habit of waking up early
• daily exercise

Hi all,
Welcome new members! I am the token Canadian here who loves to complain about the weather. I’m 44 with 2 boys (15&9) and a hubby (who is mostly keto). I work as a pediatric speech therapist. I drive a lot for my job and tend to eat out more than I should because of it. Over the last year, I’ve tried to take a lunch when possible, but don’t always have access to a fridge or heating. I am not keto like hubby and can’t see myself doing it either. I like walking, running (when weather is good)-working up to doing 5km, and going to Zumba.
Been with MFP off and on for a long time but haven’t tracked or stayed with it until I joined this group. I tend to go up and down with my weight and motivation but having these people here to help me out has been great. I am one who needs tough love, so let me know if you want to be that person and send me a friend request.6 -
sleepygirl79 wrote: »I am not keto like hubby and can’t see myself doing it either.
@sleepygirl79 I could never do keto either, not that there's anything wrong with it but I love my fruit and veggies (including potatoes!) too much to ever be able to stick to it. I think finding/knowing what's sustainable for you personally is half the battle!
Also with being on the road, would you be able to pack something with a cooler or lunch box with an ice pack? I know during the winter you may not want a cold lunch but it would be perfect for sandwiches, wraps or salads or any cold lunches in the summer!

@Neon_Ninja oh I adore fall with all my being. I understand have a Cookie Monster moment. Carbs are really calling to me. I have to break the cravings.
@865jessica I’m so sorry about what you’ve been through. I’ve been there myself after a botched surgery. Sepsis is scary stuff. Glad you’re doing well now. You’ve joined a great group here. The support and understanding is amazing.
@Katmary71 you are a great support person. You have been a shoulder, encourager and amazing tip giver. Thanks so much!
@19shmoo69 I had no idea you had left/returned. Glad you made your way back. How’s the switch to decaf? I have a hard time finding something I like. What are you drinking?

Hi Slimpossibles!
Reintroduction: I'm Mica, a semi-retired bookkeeper, living in New Hampshire. Maintaining in my goal range. I walk every day, with a goal of walking 2023 miles in 2023. Currently in the 1400s. I ride a bicycle in season, but will probably have to give that up in October or early November.
I love this team!

My name is Kate, and I am loving reading these incredible introductions. We’re such a diverse group (even internationally!) and have found something we all have in common : this commitment to be more healthy and comfortable in our own bodies. Go, Slims!
I’m 67 (for a few more months, anyway), a wife, a mom to one, a nurse (ret.), and a recent arrival to a beautiful, forested little town not far from Raleigh, NC.
In the quiet times, I love to knit mittens and sweaters 🤷♀️ and read books about spies and espionage (any Gabriel Allon fans out there?). I love to walk and played tennis regularly until we moved— trying to find my way back to that, now.
My goals for this month are:
1. Steady progress, however small, toward my weight loss goal.
2. Getting outside and walking everyday, and building up my steps.
3. Tracking EVERYTHING; even those weight bumps and plateaus that tend to stop me in my tracks.
What has helped me in the past:
1. A lower carb approach. I don’t experience cravings when I keep net carbs under 40.
2. Planning. I think about what my meals and snacks might be and use MFP to plot things out, swap ingredients, etc.
3. Focusing on “acceptance” and never using the word “forgiving” when I go off-plan. It tempers the ‘guilt’ that has so often led me to quitting entirely.
4. Eliminating my night glass(es) of wine.
5. Intermittent fasting, but not quite there right now.
Hope all are enjoying this beautiful weekend!

I actually dropped about 10 pounds in the past week but don’t celebrate too soon. I’ve had a relapse of my C. difficile infection so I haven’t eaten for a couple days. Crazy eh? Although if I’m going to be sick I guess weight loss is a silver lining - ask me again in a couple weeks if it’s still a silver lining and we’ll see what I have to say.4 -
Hi everyone! A big welcome to the new team members, and welcome back to the returning members, I am so glad you are here!
I am one of your Mission Slimpossibles captains along with @broncobuddee. Our wonderful motivator is @Katmary71!
CHECK-IN PROCESS
Along with our weekly weigh-ins, we REALLY encourage our team members to participate in regular check-ins. It’s a great way to stay accountable to yourself and it allows the team to cheer you on and offer support as you need it. We are a community, and we are stronger together!
CHANGES TO YOUR WEIGH-IN DAY/WEIGHTS
If you have any changes to your weigh-in day or reported weights, be sure to tag @BroncoBuddee who handles all of that stuff. He also handles moving people to cheerleader status/or other status changes.
LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER
Please share a little bit about you: your name, where you live, and what brought you to the Fat2Fit Challenge Group. Also share anything else you would like to, including any goals for the year. We are here to support and cheer you as you go through your weight loss adventure!
MY INTRODUCTION
Hi everyone. My name is Chris. I live in Southern California with my husband, cute one-eyed pirate pug named Daisy (7 yrs old) and pug pup name Violet who is a little more than 1 yr old. Up until my mid-20s, I was a healthy weight but then the mid-20s hit and along with that came medications that made me gain weight as well as poor lifestyle choices. I recently signed up for MFP Premium and I find it very useful.
I have about 65 lbs to lose. For exercise, I have been going to water aerobics and yoga classes. I also go for walks. My hobbies: reading, making artwork and crafts, photography, and cooking.
Now, it's your turn! Tell us about YOU!2 -
Here's info on our current NO JUNK CHALLENGE. Feel free to jump in whenever you want!

@gemwolf110 Me too! It's my birthday month and I love fall! Congrats on the loss!
@Katmary71 Yes! I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Yay for no junk!
@askewcr @KMD1214 Congrats on the losses!
@AmbersWay I'm glad your hubby had his appt. I hope they can find him some relief. Good no zeros!
@865jessica Welcome to the team! Wow, that does sound scary. Congrats on your success so far!
@Neon_Ninja Today IS a new day! Wow, that's a lot of sugar in those bars. I hope most of that is natural, not added.
@19shmoo69 I didn't realize you went to decaf, you are a good man to switch for your family. I don't know if I could do that lol. j/k family first!
@steffibabiie I'm glad your partner is cancer-free, congrats on that! I've heard the Mediterranean diet is really healthy. I do sort of IF, I don't eat after about 7:30 and then don't eat until 8:30/9. Great job with the exercise!
@megnolia82 Oh gosh, I hope you feel better soon!
Hi all. I've been busy but it's been good. I have not had junk food for a couple of days. I hope to make that last. I'm getting ready to go to Aqua Zumba in a little bit. Have a good day!
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."2 -
@sleepygirl79 I'm with you about the Keto diet. I tried it a few years ago but couldn't let go of bread. It's awesome you're working up to a 5K.
@megnolia82 I'm sorry about you're relapse infection.1 -
@AmbersWay decaf coffee where I live in hard to find. It's folgers and well.....it's not good. In a near by bigger city there's a truckload store and we found family packs of Seattle's best decaf 10/$1.00. It's good. We will drink it while we search for the next batch to try.
I used get every morning make a lot of something I have a few to choose from and leave the rest for my family. I'm not a huge fan of the decaf flavor so I drink water plain or with flavor additives aka pre-work out, bcaa or homemade hydration mixture.2 -

So lunch was made by the time I got home from church. Rice while not being carnivore isn't junk food but is something my family enjoys together. The problem is eating it caused a massive ice cream craving trigger. Ice cream is a junk food and yes I partook in it.5
-
@19shmoo69 I’ll have to check Seatle’s Best. We have them here in town. Hopefully, I can find some good decaf. I love coffee but try to keep it to one/two shots early in the day but sometimes I want an afternoon cup. Thanks2
-
I guess I slid over introducing myself. I'm Barb, 61 years old, married for 31 of those years. Retired RN. Currently live in the mountains of NC. I used to run quite frequently, but now hiking is becoming my jam because of where we live, and I really need to do more of it as I have a specific goal in mind to hike a "marathon" at some point. It won't be this year probably, but hopefully early spring.
Eating has been off the charts for the last year and a half--can't pin it down to anything, but I do "eat my emotions", so maybe that's part of it. Got back on MFP to re-charge my nutritional and fitness batteries.
So nice to be here on the team and looking forward to interacting with you all! We can do it, eh?3 -

Agh. I’ve been at this same weight for a month. It’s frustrating. On the other hand…I’m not gaining anything, so that’s the good news.3 -
I am rocking the No Junk Food Challenge! No junk food, low sugar starting August 25th. I finished the last of my dark chocolate on August 24th.
