Afternoon all! Hope you do enjoy the pumpkin muffin recipe - I think it's pretty forgiving and I did test it with the exact ingredients, etc. Sunny day, not getting quite as much movement as I'd like but at the same time I'm also in training for a new position since a recent transfer. Stress levels much lower at the new position so I think it all evens out. I'm enjoying Celestial Seasonings' Cinnamon Apple spice tea in the evenings, very nice way to end the day that's fall oriented. I love their caramel apple flavor too but haven't found it yet this year.

    Good Morning Airport Friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Saturday and I am thinking it will be a good day. Joe and I are going to do some grocery shopping today and we are going to get his car an oil change. We might move his motorcycle from my sisters garage up to his parents to be put up for the winter. He usually fills the tank up with fuel and puts the battery on the trickle charger over the winter to keep the battery from being dead due to the cold in the spring. He forgot to do it last winter and he had to charge his battery before being about to take it out on the road. It is suppose to rain on and off all day so I am not to keen on him driving it up the 44 minutes to his parents. I just don't feel it is safe but he has driven motorcycle long enough to know if he can handle it.

@CSEGUIN2 - That is awesome. I knew you would do well. I am sure you will do well with the final assessment. I do a last minute study too. I always have and it works for me.
@Kurtize - I did 2 5k runs in 2022 and then stopped because I did not have time to train in 2023 due to planning my wedding. I now want to get back into jogging and stuff. Although now it is going to be super cold. So I will have to figure out different ways to get my jogging in. Thank you for the link. I went through it with my husband. We actually may do those. We bookmarked the link to come back to to sign up for one. They look really cool.
@Sand_TIger - Congrats on the new position. Joe is a pumpkin spice diva. We have already bought 2 bags of pumpkin spice coffee so he will have it all year around. I am trying to find a way to increase my exercise. We are seriously thinking of doing the virtual challenges that Kurtize posted. It would be a great idea. My husband and I could do it together and they have one called Jesus walk which is suppose to be the same path that Jesus took on his mission walk. Obviously it is virtual so there would be an app and we would not actually be there but it looks really cool.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.

Good morning, everyone! It's a beautiful day here today. My daughter says hello to all. She's working at her part time job today. Both budgie birds are doing well and say cheep, cheep! I went for a short run earlier this morning and I really enjoyed it. I'll be going for a walk after lunch. I'll be doing some dancing later on. Have a great day, everyone! Take care and stay safe.

Howdy all and happy Saturday, well we are all in the air and enjoying our flight. My plan it to lose 1/2 week, and do ST and cardio 3-5 times a week. Wishing you all a great week.

    Hello all!

It's been a rough week for me. Glad it's over.

My dietitian ordered me to try a vegan diet. I am cutting back slowly!

I've done those conqueror challenges and they're a lot of fun! I stopped doing them when my fitness tracker bit the dust.

Nice sunny morning! I harvested two beans. (Long beans again. About 12-18 inches long usually.) Shortly I'll go out and get more rat-tailed radish pods and some African huckleberries. They love my constant full sun! Mystery squash vine dropped one of the fruit so I dissected it, looks like a baby yellow squash of some kind, basically cylindrical in shape. Glad it's not a zucchini. Another fruit is doing fine and growing and there are more flowers coming out.

I got a lot of mild walking yesterday during errands, I always park as far away from the store as I can because this is one of the few ways I can go for a walk. I also started using my mini stepper again, basically it's a small stairmaster without rails. And did a bunch of gardening which involved a lot of bending and squatting. Stayed well within calories. I'm thinking about going back to three meals on days when I have a lot of activity and saving the time restricted eating (11 to 7) for days when I'm sitting most of the time and don't have as much time for exercise.

Today the plan is to do more gardening, mostly harvesting and weeding, then more stepper, then finish off with a good full-body strength session with my small weight collection. I have more time today so I'll use it! Wishing everyone the best as we begin this challenge.

    Good Morning Airport Friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Monday and it is Joe's first day at his new job. I hope it all goes well for him today. Yesterday on a Sunday my sister's cancer doctor called her and said that given the results of her biopsy they now have to check to see if her cancer is spread. I guess it is more advanced than they thought. I am scared. Like if it has spread that automatically puts her at stage 4 cancer. Are they at that point then still able to do chemo and what are her chances. That has me terrified.

@Sand_TIger - That is good that your mystery fruit is not a zucchini. It is nice that you found fruit and veggies that like the constant sun. Nice on the walking. I am trying to get my steps in the best I can also. I really want to increase my steps. I think it is a good idea if you are super active to add another meal in your routine. I hope you were able to get all your gardening done and your walking in.
@Kurtize - That link does not take us to a blog. It actually takes us to a discussion.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Monday.

@Tabatha_Cain, hon I am so sorry!!! I can't imagine the fear you feel. I lost my Mom to a very aggressive cancer, but that was in 92, things are better now. I sure hope they can help her. Please keep up with your own exams. We are here with you. Walking helps with anxiety as does any ST you do. It won't take care of it, but it's a healthy alternative to eating (So many of us are emotional eaters). If we could reach out to you physically for a hug we SURE WOULD Tabatha!! This will have to do dd789gce24pm.gif
@Kurtize, LOVE the progress!! Excellent job!!

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Tuesday and it is going to be a good day. Joe started his new job yesterday and he loves it. He said the atmosphere of the place is way better than his last job. He is so excited to get things done. I am so glad he is happy and he likes it. I was worried. But it is all good. I see my OB-GYN tomorrow for my fibroids and my cycts. I am still having pain so I am hoping that there is something they can decide to do as ibuprofen and midol and tylenol are not working. I have not tried anything stronger because I am not one to take a lot of pain meds. If I can manage without I try not to but this is rough. At work I am required to get 10 AAA memberships every month. Well as of yesterday the 9th I already had 11. I am so set this month. It is going great. Sometimes that happens though. So this month I am going to get as many as I can and just blow this out of the water and bank as many memberships as I can for the future months.

@Kurtize - Oh nice. So they say you need to complete the challenge in so many days? That is awesome. We could actually plan how many mile to go each day. That is great. I cannot wait to join. Since Joe just started a new job we are trying to get our finances situated and then probably next month we will select a challenge and get working on it.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Thank you. The doctor is 90% sure he got all the cancer from my sister's esophagus, but the cancer was already in the second layer of the lining in her esophagus so they are concerned that it may have spread. She as a CT scan on the 26th of this month. We are hoping it has not spread.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.

@Tabatha_Cain - best wishes to your sister. That's a scary situation so I truly hope you have good results in that CT scan.

So far my own challenge is doing okay, I was awakened this morning early so I knocked out my stint on the mini stepper. I've gotten a bit out of shape so am trying to do 10 minutes on it every day, in addition to any other exercise I might do. I've also found that a little bit of full range of motion stretching just before bed is helping me sleep a lot better. So, I think that'll be the next habit I try to formalize!

I hope everyone is doing well in their healthy journey.

@Tabatha_Cain- prayers for your sister. My sister had esophagus cancer and surgery in the early 80's. They have come a long way. She and 4 other people were in medical books because they had lived more than 5 years after the surgery. Now they can control it so much better. Surgery is so much improved. Hopefully the CT scan will be clear. I was lucky I just have Barrett's esophagus and it hasn't turned into cancer. Dr said if it hasn't by now I will most likely die of something else.

@Tabatha_Cain, I sure hope she can help you out!! Pain is never ever good. It's our body telling us something is wrong. Hon here's hoping also your sis will be okay. It's scary for sure. WOOHOO on Joe liking the new place better!
@Sand_TIger, GREAT JOB!! Going slow will help you to not hit burnout with it. When doing your mini stepper are you watching TV or something you enjoy? Nicely done on the stretching!! I've been doing my legs before bed and also find I sleep better. You are doing GREAT!

    Good Morning Airport Friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Wednesday and it is going to be a great day. I have my doctor appt today to talk about my ultrasound and the pain I am having. This is with the specialist. So we will see what he is wanting to do at this point. I have a history of cysts in my ovaries so this is nothing new. The fibroids apparently run in my family. My mother had them and had a hysterectomy and my sister had them and ended with a hysterectomy. So I am not sure if he is going to try other procedures first or just go right to the hysterectomy due to family history. So we will see. That is going to be rough. I am not sure what I will do if I have to have surgery. I do know I have short term disability that I pay for so depending on how long I will be out of work then I will still get paid like 70% of my pay. So that is good.

@Sand_TIger - It is really scary. We are hoping for the best. Her CT Scan is Oct 26th. So far away, but we will take it cause it is a lot closer than it could have been. That is good that you found a way to improve your sleep. I would definitely try and make that a habit.
@cormierannie - Thank you. I am gad your family is doing well.
@Kurtize - That is great that your sister is in the medical books. I hope your does not turn into cancer. Surgery has improved quite a bit since the 80's.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Thank you. I am hoping today the doctor is able to come to a solution to help me with the pain. I really do not like hurting all day long. I hope my sister's cancer has not spread. We really need some good news in this family.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

@Dianedoessmiles1, yeah, I watch a YouTube video that I enjoy when I am using the mini stepper. It helps a lot. Boredom is probably my biggest enemy when it comes to exercise. I know, the advice is to always do something you enjoy, but when it comes to things I can do in my house with my existing equipment there is only so much that can be made enjoyable. Sometimes you just have to do the work. :) That said, I can do some weight training at home, calisthenics, stretching, body weight work, that sort of thing. However, I understand cardio is pretty important too so that's usually mini stepper or running in place. Changing things up helps with the boredom!

@Tabatha_Cain, I had mine taken out over 15 years ago. It was thought it was cancer, they ended up cutting me from my belly button down to the pubic bone. Sure that was painful, but after a week not as bad as I had thought. I still had to move hunched over, but still, as long as I did as I was told I was fine. Friends have had the 4 holes (or 3 for some) and theirs have been taken out. LOL One friend had thought it'd be a 8 week recovery (she'd not listen to anyone) she HATED to work and WANTED the time OFF, but she was healed enough to work after 2 or 3 weeks. LOL She was MAD MAD!! I did sort of giggle at her, I'd much rather of had the easier surgery. Of course, there are always variables. If you have the surgery please try to not worry. These are sadly done a lot and rarely do they go wrong.
@Sand_TIger When I had my stationary bike I used to read a book. I adore reading. The time SPED BY WAY TO FAST!! Sounds like you've got this!! WTG!!!! I do what I can on my good days and the other days Just do what I can though it may be small on those days it's from my inner being which is great. So happy you are here with us and everyone else too!

@Tabatha_Cain], I wish you the best on your own results. Cysts can be such a pain - literally! It's pretty wonderful how surgery continues to advance, becoming less and less invasive. I'm glad you also have a good care team to figure out what is wrong and get you help. (I truly value that as I've spend long, long spans of my life with no doctors available to treat me.)

@Dianedoessmiles1, Yeah! I know what you mean! I don't have anything to prop a book on so I can turn pages or I might think about reading. I have this kind of temporary thing going on where I have my mini stepper behind a chair so I can use it for light balance if I need it. So a tablet serves to at least watch short videos on. It works!

    Good Evening Everyone!

It's been crazy busy around here. Saturday was a friend's 69th birthday party. Drank more than I should have but still had a great time. It even opened up my ex's eyes that something was wrong between us. On Sunday I went to Church and then my brother's for Thanksgiving. On Monday the ex and I had a heart to heart about everything and he has asked me to give him a chance to change. I have agreed to that but we aren't back together officially yet as he has a lot to prove. Monday afternoon we went to my friends for Thanksgiving. Tuesday was the first day in the kitchen. It went well and had math class in the afternoon. Today was a full day in the kitchen. It's going well and we're definitely seeing who in the class bails for lunch before all the work gets done. Tomorrow back into the math class in the afternoon. My body handles the day fine until I get home and relax.

@Sand_TIger Highly recommend Get Fit With Rick for at-home cardio! He has a bunch of free videos on YouTube which he's adding to all the time - or for a fee, you can access an even larger library on his website. It's theoretically walking, but very fast-paced & low impact, has a variety of moves to work different muscles, and he chooses really great music where the step count is on the BPM.

    Good Morning Airport Friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Thursday and it is going to be a great day. I went to the doctor yesterday and they are repeating my ultrasound in 3 months. As far as the pain I am feeling my OB says he is positive it is Osteitis Pubis. Which is inflammation in the cartilage in the pelvic bone. It is rare but it is cause by repeated stress to the pelvic area from running, or the fact that I have one leg shorter than the other, and many other things that can cause it. They really don't know exactly what causes it and it takes a long time to recover. According to the internet recovery can take up to a year. I basically have to lessen my physical activity until the pain stops and the work on strengthening my abdomen, back, hip flexors, and groin area. So there is nothing they can really do about that. I just limit my physical activity until the pain stops. They said twisting and pivoting are all things that can cause it. I guess not training properly for running can also cause it. Well last year I started jogging. I did use couch to 5k for a bit and then got bored with that app and just decided to wing it. So I probably over did it and then just did not pay attention to my body because I did 2 5k runs in 2022 and well this is apparently what happens when you don't train properly. Well I know I cannot stop all physical activity. I mean I have to do housework and all that stuff so my recovery is going to take a while. I am still going to be working out. I am just doing stretching and stuff instead of a lot of physical stuff.

@Sand_TIger - Changing things up definitely helps with the boredom. I need to be able to change things up every so often.
@cormierannie - Is the bingo just for fun or do you have a little pot that you win?
@Dianedoessmiles1 - I am good. As you can see from above the fibroids and cysts are not causing my pain. So they are just going to monitor them and repeat in 3 months. If I start bleeding a lot then get back in right away because that would be a symptom of an issue with the fibroids. As far as the other issue they want me to rest from physical activity and take ibuprofen every 8 hours to help with the inflammation until it is healed.
@Kurtize - I really hope they can figure out what is going on with your pet. It is not a pleasant thing when we have a sick pet.
@CSEGUIN2 - So glad you had Thanksgiving with family. I honestly recommend couples counseling if you want to fix your relationship.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday.
