I’m thinking a nice cruise around the Greek isles might be fun for PAV.

You have a “base”? In these days of Zoom, WiFi, remote work?

Hope springs eternal...I am back, up a mere 3lbs, and ready for yet another kick at this weight-loss can!
Great cruise acrossthe Pacific, and then spent a few days 'cruising' Oahu by land before flying home yesterday.
    😆

After a long flight and time change you are likely to get a drop in a few days!

I came back +1 to the day I left, and 48 hours later was at -1. I'm fairly sure sodium between home and out impacts that too!

Gosh, thank you for the kind words 😊 - my daughter takes some great pictures, mine are all #crap#, so I rarely take any anymore.

To be clear, I am the old fart in the passenger seat...

Here is what I call a good on paper as a stop gag.... but problematic long term little plan hatched by my elder athlete in training! He walks 45 minutes to.... a local brewery... has one super sized 20oz pint in half an hour and then walks back 45 minutes! He explained that it was a superior plan to the alternative he would propose which involves 55 minutes to a different location, two 16 to 18oz pints and 55 minutes back!!!🙀 I sense a pattern there for some reason!!!!😵‍💫

My counter proposal of 45 minutes to coffee shop or park bench was rejected! 😲🥺unceremoniously 🙀

Because it lacks sufficient motivation. Obviously beer tops coffee or resting! Personally I prefer your choices but to each his own.

Trainer athlete can’t burn off calories in 20 ozs of beer by strolling for an hour and a half?

Your insight is incredibly accurate re: burning 20 to 32oz of beer by strolling! Unfortunately the alternative of not strolling is not great either. Hence my failed extolling of the virtuousness of coffee as a beer alternative!

Perhaps the beer incentive allure will wear off, and he'll want to mix it up with a good coffee or a good view. If not, the CICO should probably be highlighted, then at least a longer walk might entail and won't even take longer if the pace picks up.
I must say the plan does have (diabolical) appeal, as is, though! Got me thinking 😈

Yeah. The problem is that the trainee has real age and health related issues that limit his ability to improve his levels you the point where he can either pick up the pace or lengthen the distance.

Unless his efforts are accompanied by a reduction in weight and a change to his weight to power equation.

Unfortunately he does not share his thinking on weight loss other than through contextual statements that indicate it is not a burning priority as compared to beer sampling 🤷‍♂️

But - weightloss aside. The desire to get out in the world and walk - for whatever reason - is a very good thing! I know many many people, decades younger, who wouldn't in a million years do what the Elder Athlete in Training is proposing.

Well.... it is a good trait to cultivate (the desire to go out and about)
    Will continue to encourage!
