I don't really want to be boxed in by a specific diet. I'm sure I am mostly something but, overall - I will eat meat (*presently do) most meals. I am intrigued by dairy free but, I like yogurt and the non dairy yogurts seem not the direction for me. But - i'm very reduced dairy I believe. I do eat a lot of fruits and veggies and starchy carbs. Little processed. Candy yes.

but Alot of this is just a work in progress. really just don't want to live my life by food rules.

    Yesterday ate at calorie maint.
Today I want to be watchful to eat below calorie goal.
Workout - total body strength and some agility.

Day 5 - had some chocolate candies - not counting that as a cheat but as a mental health thing. I didn't go over on calories thus, just a few I guess and I didn't die yet or get pregnant from eating them so, I guess its all okay. I do believe that the stuff -- over time -- can have very bad impacts on our health.

    I understand that. :)
For me, in my opinion, sugar and flour are just as harmful and addictive as caffeine or nicotine. I don't consider paleo a diet so much as a set of guidelines as to what is food vs toxic. One kitkat per day might not kill me, just like one cigarette per day might not kill me, but there will be similar impacts. Sadly obesity and type 2 diabetes are widely accepted as normal in our society while emphysema is not.

oh my god I love what you wrote and how you wrote it! Exactly! One cigarette a day wil not kill you - but its NOT socially acceptable. The impacts of Sugar and toxic food IS accepted - but it is just as harmful. OH my I love that image SO much! Thank you.

Social norms have a huge impact on personal behavior. For that reason, I'm cautious of who I closely associate with on a regular basis.

Whoo Lordy! Eldercare responsibilities and road trip for parents doc have kept me away for a bit. The typical reuniting with hubs always leads to weight gain. A whooping 5 pounds in a week. Ugh. Don’t really care that much as my goal pants were still
fitting and most would say I look better in them since I filled them out. But nope - I like my lil look.

So back at it! Deep Sigh! I don’t really wanna see where I was January 1 and where I’d said I’d be April 4. Gulp. Maybe I’ll take a look on Happy Scale and that will motivate me. 🥺

    Hope everyone is well!

I am 48 years old, 5'11" and currently my highest weight ever - 170lb. Which I know isn't crazy, but it's gradually crept up from 150 10 years ago and I feel flabby and horrible. So here we go:
    SW - 170
    Highest weight - 170
    March GW - 165
Final GW - 150 (a girl can dream...)
    Goals for March:
    - Get back into tracking food
    - Work out where I need to make cuts
    - Exercise at least 5 days every week

So I have done all this, lost those first 5 pounds easily enough, then did my usual thing of getting complacent and progress stalled. I do feel better for the exercise at least! Need to focus on actually making those cuts in April.

    Weigh In: 109.5 lbs
    Nutrition: Beyond Terrible (Good/Acceptable/Unacceptable/Terrible)

    Goals:
    1. Read entire Bible in order starting w/ New Testament 1 chapter/day. (Luke 18)

I'm bloated, miserable, sunburnt, and sick with runny nose. Ate so much this weekend. And then, of course, run into my Ex on my way to the gym looking like I've been hit by a truck. Wonderful. lol

I'm currently in the outer edges of the Atlanta, GA metro area. Not from here though, grew up in WI, most of my adult life was in the San Francisco area. My heart will always be out there, I loved it (generally speaking) but for many reasons that just wasn't feasible anymore, so here I am. It's not too bad here, I like it well enough to have bought my first home here. Pretty close to the mountains where I love to ride the bikes or hike. Lots of tracks in the general region as well for all of that. I picked the area out of the entire country based on my preferences in area/climate, budget, job opportunities, and racing LOL.

ETA: I apparently deleted my FB group, but if anyone creates one, I'd totally join. Could be a private group to keep the audience small.

This is my group - I've removed all prior members out of it. I last used it in 2016.
Anyone on FB, I would love to do accountability there - I find it so much easier.
