@strong_fit_ells - nice work on the weight loss! Keep it up!
@ashleycarole86 - You've got this! You can definitely weigh less at the end of 2024 than the beginning of it. I believe in you!
@conleywoods - Welcome back! We missed you. And, thanks for sharing more pics of your super cute piggies!

Happy eclipse day... did your company come at this time @jugar to enjoy the totality path view from your place? Cool timing either way!
Today is my work from home day so I get less steps but there's a better chance I'll have the time without the commute to ride the Peloton!

We had the totality indeed! And a perfect clear day for it. It was spectacular, and wonderfully weird when it went dark and we could see not only the corona and some stars, but Jupiter and Mars. Amazing.
Company is still here until tomorrow morning! I am looking forward to peace and quiet soon...
have a great day working and Pelotoning3 -
@jugar jealous of your location for the eclipse!! My coworkers and I stepped outside to see our partial piece here in Boston. It was still pretty cool, the shadows and light felt so weird for 3:30 in the afternoon.
I had a pretty productive Sunday, but not perfect eating. Today is going better. About to cook the parts of my dinner I didn't meal prep yesterday. Planning a lower body bodyweight only workout this evening. My calves are VERY tight from snowboarding but I will do some more foam rolling before the workout. I am challenging myself with my monthly habit tracker this month - among the daily habits, I added "lights out by 11pm" and "min. 2 servings of fruit/veg". May sound simple and I am sure some of you get like 12 servings of veg in each day but I have never been super consistent with my greens (and reds and oranges etc) so starting with a low number. I want to check off more things than I did last month!!
I just signed up for a 4 week workout program with one of my favorite trainers on instagram (same woman I did my 10 week fall challenge with for those who recall) - it's shorter than usual this season since she is gearing up to launch her own app. It starts 4/22 which is great timing for me. I have to make getting an appointment with an orthopedist a priority this month. I am starting to suspect my foot issue is not just tendonitis but something more nerve-related. TBD.5 -
@jugar
I'm back and ready to go. Hopefully, this week will be a good one.
I have to go to the hospital tomorrow morning around 10 am, to have a diagnostic mammogram performed. That's when a specialist will be there to determine if a biopsy will be needed. Not having any family or close friends in my life to talk to about what's happening and dealing with other health issues has been a very stressful time for me.
If those of you who believe in God and pray, would you please keep me in your prayers. That the results come back in my favor and that the lumps are benign. Even though there will be a specialist there, I probably won't find out the results for a few days.
Thank you all, Kmarie

@girlhitchhiker Rest assured, my friend. I've had several breast cysts in my life (starting in high school), and having the specialist there with a possible ultrasound and assessment is so much better than you can imagine. Seriously! Having someone there who can answer your concerns and questions without having to wait several days or weeks, is such a relief. When I had an odd lump that they weren't sure about several years ago, they decided all was fine but they decided to put a marker at the spot in question. This makes it so it can be easily viewed every time I have a mammogram. They've come a long way since then (circa 2007) so, breathe deeply, and know that you're in good hands. Sleep well tonight.5
-
Accountability check in to confirm I did get on the Peloton after work.
Brad joined me too, so we chose a very low impact ride. He has been getting some diagnostic imaging done on his knee and has a follow up appointment on Wednesday so he's being very careful until he knows what the issue is.
@girlhitchhiker
Sorry you're dealing with that stress. Sending well wishes your way for good news tomorrow.
@Kali225
Love that you chose to set the goal that's right for YOU and not some unrealistic stretch target based on what others do... checking items off and building momentum is such a great strategy.
I have been enjoying the different format of the Stridekick challenges that @StayFITTer set up for us. I have been lazy in the activity department but the ongoing leaderboard format is fun for me. So thanks for doing that!7 -
@jugar that is awesome you got to see the eclipse, stars, and some planets! We had a partial eclipse here and I was able to view it from a co-workers glasses. Very cool!
@girlhitchhiker prayers for your mammogram tomorrow. Like @EvMakesChanges said, they have come a long way and can usually get results very quickly. In NC, you find out the same day if you need to have a biopsy or not and I would say most of the time you don't. Feel free to vent/post here if you need some support!
@ashleycarole86 great job on the peleton today! Hopefully Brad can get some answers soon about his knee.
I didn't have another perfect day today, but that only means to try again for tomorrow. I did get to the gym and did my body pump class. The next few days are going to rain, so that means I have to do my 5k training inside at the gym. I feel like running the indoor track is almost worse than running on the treadmill.5 -
Time for the nightly nag! I hope our newer members are able to update and let us know how things are going

@Kali225 The work out sounds like a good plan for helping your legs loosen up. The veggie goal is on my list of habits to add also. I think I'm hit or miss on the one. I know you're a foodie, have you ever heard of Half Baked Harvest? She has some of the most amazing recipes and most of them have a creative use of veggies.
@jugar sounds like the eclipse was magical! It was cloudy here so I missed it. We had a really good one where I live in 2017. Hope you get some peace and quiet at home soon.
@girlhitchhiker I hope you get some answers soon. Waiting is the hardest part. I know several women who have been through breast cancer and it is amazing what resources are available to fight it. You are doing the right thing. Hang in there.
@ashleycarole86 Great job getting your peleton session in! Hope Brad gets some information on his knee soon.
@lauren_989 I love your attitude and great work getting to the gym!

Honestly I'm surprised it's green. I had 2 perfect days, but that doesn't usually make up for 2-3 bad days and 2 so so days.3 -
Yesterday was terrible, so I got to work everything went fine then I left at 10.00 am for my 11am appt, it's only about 30 minutes away, anyway I took 695. I don't often take that road unless it's this time of day, like on a weekend, nope won't happen, it's too much like a race track. Anyway after 5 minutes of being on the beltway, I had a panic attack, I mean one like I've never had before, My legs and arms went all tingly, and it just terrifying, so I was able to safely get off 695 and pull into a parking lot to calm down, made it on to drs, and back then home later in the day fine, so that's good. But it left me with so much tension and a terrible headache, I was just miserable the rest of the day.
Talked to my dr about it, and we decided I should go back onto HRT, but a different kind this time. I am on an anxiety drug, but it's obviously not working because this is happening more often, so she believes it is my hormones being out of whack. I did fine on the hrt before, but I had a suspicion that it was inhibiting my weight loss, it has done that throughout my whole life, which is why I never liked being on it. So, I went off it, last fall and low and behold the weight has been coming off much easier since then. Anyway, apparently, it's the synthetic progesterone in birth control pills that alot of women have an issue with, so I am going to try an estrogen patch with a bioidentical progesterone, and it should have a much better affect, and not affect my weight.
Anyway, when I got home last night, I was just exhausted, so I did not get on the treadmill.
Here is to a better day, No need to go outside my 5 mile safety radius so it should be a good day !

Well my weight spiked up a lot this morning.. over 2 pounds from yesterday. That microwave popcorn before bed was not the best idea. But that sort of sums up where I'm at right now... making choices with no regard for the outcome.
Onwards! Today we are back to office so I'll get more steps today for that reason. It would be good to have enough energy at the end of the day to ride the Peloton again.. hoping for that!
Thanks for all the well wishes for Brad's knee... it isn't fun being injured but he's been handling it well. Hoping for the best possible news for him tomorrow!!6 -
@girlhitchhiker - Definitely sending good thoughts and prayers your way today.
@ashleycarole86 - great job getting on the Peloton last night despite also then having late night microwave popcorn. I also had a bag of skinny pop last night after bowling with some electrolyte water. My weight was definitely up this morning. I hope Brad gets some good answers about his knee tomorrow!
@Gidgitgoescrzy - Panic attacks are the worst! I'm glad you were able to talk with your doctor about it and hopefully this solution you came up with works well for you!
I had a good day yesterday. Not perfect because I didn't go to spin class, but I made sure to get in an extra walk at lunch. I also tried out some of the tips recently given to me to help my bowling game. The first game wasn't great, but the second and third were both 10 to 20 pins over my average. Eating wise I kept with my goals - no alcohol and no processed carbs other than 1/2 cup of rice with my lunch.
2 -
@girlhitchhiker thoughts are with you today - Hope you find out the results soon. Waiting is the hardest
@lauren_989 when is your race? I agree I'm a treadmill person rather than the track
@lauren_989 great job on your loss this week
@Gidgitgoescrzy Good for you for working with your doctor about everything. Can't imagine how scary it was on the road with your symptoms.

My husband is out of town this week so I'm focused on being extra prepared this week with meal planning. Had a super busy day yesterday and tired today but know I'll be in bed early and have a quiet evening. Had my workout yesterday and one planned for tomorrow, today was a walk the dog day.4 -
I had a good a good day today! Eating was on point. I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon and didn't get a chance to exercise.
@cleaneater80 my race is on May 4. It's called may the course be with you, so I expect I will see lots of great costumes!
@Gidgitgoescrzy I hope you get your anxiety and panic attacks controlled. Those are not fun!6 -
@cleaneater80 well done! It sounds like you have earned your quiet evening and lovely green weigh-in. We are having a good little green wave starting this week - those of us weighing in later in the week will try to live up to it!
I'll be having a quiet evening and an earlier than usual bedtime tonight too, I think. I had a long day of grant writing and rehearsing, came home to work on the post-visit cleaning and laundry, and it will feel good to get some extra zzzzzs.
I hope you are feeling better @Gidgitgoescrzy - and that today was serene and restful. Hugs to you!

I'm about to get on the exercise bike to end my day - are you with me @ashleycarole86 ? Let's pedal this thing!2 -
@MaddawgMadsen @ashleycarole86 count me in the late night popcorn team! I grabbed a mini bag of Lesser Evil pink himalayan popcorn last night. Tasty but did I really need that? No.
@conleywoods I used to follow that blog! She shines most with appetizers and side dishes in my opinion. I weirdly found a lot of her entrees lacking in flavor but her food photography is stunning. I should mosey on over to her website again for some fresh veggie inspo.
@lauren_989 love that race theme, are you planning to wear any star wars gear?
@Gidgitgoescrzy ugh so sorry about your panic attack! hormonal drugs are so tricky. I just started a new one this week that I am hoping helps with my TOM.
Pretty good day for me here. Left work a bit late but I had time to prep my salad for lunch tomorrow before 3 friends came over for a sweaty dance cardio session - a solid 45 min this week, which is longer than we usually go. I mixed a lot of new songs into the playlist today which was fun. Might have found some new faves. Dinner was nice. Got my veggies and fruits in! and now it is time for bed.3 -
haaaa I totally forgot to weigh in this morning, just like went on with my morning like it is not my weigh in day. I'm telling you, my brain is broken.
I will do that weigh in tomorrow, although, it's probably a good thing honestly because I had a huge salad for dinner last night.
Today is going to be a good day, I will be productive, I will be positive, I will be whatever the third word could be that begins with a P... (All I could come up with was punitive, but that seems to be the opposite of what I am trying to manifest here)
Have a great day !

Is it a full moon? I forgot my weigh-in today, too. My dogs woke me at 3:00am and I could not fall back asleep. My alarm goes off at 4:45am for my spin class, so at 4:36am, I just got out of bed. Anyways, I'm thinking lack of sleep is the reason for my forgetfulness. I'll weigh-in tomorrow.
Also, @gidgitgoescrzy, here are some P words: punctual, planned, prepared, perky, perfectly myself.3 -
@jugar
I'm back and ready to go for week two. Hopefully, I will be in the green when I weigh-in on Saturday.
My regular Dr & I found lumps in my right breast and the nurse tech checked last week at the hospital. Today, there were no lumps found at all, he said all was clear (no cancer) and no lumps (no cyst) and everything looked good & healthy.
I asked the specialist how the lumps could just disappear, after being able to feel them for so long. He said breast tissue changes and sometimes things happen or unhappen as the case was yesterday.
I believe it was God's doing and I'm extremely happy with this news and it's one stressful situation that I no longer have to worry about.
Thank you!! To everyone that responded with words of encouragement and support.
Kmarie,

This right here just made my day! I am so happy that you got this good news!3 -
That is such good news @girlhitchhiker ! You are joining the "p" people - perfect! Progressing, pathfinding, peerless, powerhouses!
Speaking of words beginning with P - if any of you love hilarious kids' books, get Margaret Atwood's Princess Prunella and the Purple Peanut. There are some great read-out-loud versions on YouTube. Talk about a resource for anyone looking for words that begin with P! And yes, it's the same person who wrote The Handmaid's Tale. She's done it all4 -
I had a great day today! I didn't eat the oreo or reeses peanut butter cup ice cream cake at work today!! I went to body pump and am in my calories for today! 🤸🏼♀️
@girlhitchhiker that is great news!
The rest of this week is supposed to be rainy and windy. Not good for doing my C25k training outside...so I guess it's back to the indoor track at the gym.5 -
Your day is inspiring me @lauren_989 - I did not have a great one today!

another good day here for me. pretty sore from dance cardio but excited to practice that choreography next week! I got out for a nice walk after dinner and even attempted to jog a few blocks.4

@girlhitchhiker hooray for your good news. I bet that felt like a huge weight lifted off your shoulders. Hugs
This week has been going well. Last month I helped cover a co workers caseload for her maternity leave. Our replacement hire for her took longer than expected to get started. I saw my caseload, half of my coworkers caseload, trained the new hire and did a lot of extra paperwork. This week I'm back to doing just my job but I am at a new building 2 days a week. It's been really nice to be away from my regular building for a few days. To make it even better my really good friend is the speech therapist at the new building and we get to walk on our lunches.
I also met my goal of two workouts this week and I've been logging all my meals. I'm also getting back in the habit of stepping on the scale each
day. I am still getting my baseline calories through Friday. Next I'll be going through the habit list and starting to add new habits.6 -
@jugar and all, I'm going to sit on the sidelines this month. It doesn't mean I won't be working on myself but I just feel I can't, and haven't been, contributing here as I should. 177.1 last Thurs and 177.0 today. I haven't been logging food at all ...and that's the only thing that has results. Will try to get back in the swing of things for May.6

It's all good, I've been on a little streak of green, so this was kind of expected, can't lose every week.

I just want this week to be over. I am so bored here at my job, I do not have nearly enough work to keep me busy.
