I am happy with that after my outta control weekend !
Okay so yesterday was a " perfect day" - Yay
- We went on our work walk, I really should have looked at the weather though, we walked at 9.30 am - it was 81 degrees but humidity was off the charts so it felt like 95 - It took a minute to cool down. Anyway we determined it is 1.5 miles, and yes it is sketchy, lots of trucks going up and down the road, although all were respectful, and moved way over as to not kick dirt on us. And no you can not smell the candy factory, so thats a good thing.
I did my 15 squats. Didn't eat past 6pm, and logged everything.4 -
@lauren_989 DDR was great! We unlocked a new song. My cat sat right next to the dance pad at one point while my boyfriend was playing and it made me think of Simba saying, "Danger? Ha! I laugh in the face of danger!"
I didn't make myself eggs yesterday, hope to get back on that tonight but I'll be out and about. I just threw the two leftover biscuits in my lunch bag so calorically my breakfast is similar but less protein and fat so I might feel hungry again sooner Budgeting the cals for a korean corn dog and a mochi donut. I hope to play DDR again when I get home. I kept getting C and D ranks and I gotta get new high scores, I gotta!!4 -
@YinxFed Woo hoo, way to go! You are officially a runner!
My week has been good. I closed my diary both Monday and Tuesday. I've been drinking my water. I've been moving my body.
I have a round of golf for work today. Food will be at the course so it's a bit of an unknown. I am leaving the house in a head space that supports good choices!
My weight crept up super high over the weekend before I reined it in so the progress this week thus far has just been to bring me back to where I've been. But, looking forward to making continued progress for the rest of this year. I have no clothes that fit me and it makes it hard on a day like today where I have to go out for a corporate golf event.
But alas, not focusing on the negative... it's a sunny day and I get to golf instead of a day in the office!
Have a good day all!4 -
A beautiful sunny day indeed! I went early to get Jasper out for a ride before the hot temperatures and expected thunderstorms arrive, and it was lovely. We went around the beautiful open spaces with a woman who was taking her first trail ride in decades. She was a bit nervous, but on a good steady horse that belongs to our mutual friend. Jasper helped her keep calm by being a good boy as well. A wild turkey flew up off of her nest close by at one point, but neither horse did more than startle a tiny bit, so all was well. Next time we'll go into the woods by all the cool ponds and a weird rock formation.
I added a weight to the squat challenge yesterday - just 10 pounds, in "goblet" position - but it feels good so I'll keep doing that. I find it helps me keep a better position and more upright in my back. I'll up it to my 8 kg kettlebell in a few days.
The garden is almost all planted. Just more seeds to go - yesterday I put in all the plants (tomatoes, eggplants, peppers) and it about did me in! Right now I'm ferrying water out there in a wheelbarrow, so I can't wait until the barrel is back in the garden. At least it is going to rain for a couple of days, so I'm saved! I'll get some photos soon and we can have a garden photo exhibition4 -
Had a slightly rough (ok very rough) day over here in the food department, but made it a non zero day and still did my squats, steps, and body pump class. I am exhausted today and am in bed already. I'm not sure if my iron is back down or why my energy has been dropping over the past few weeks. Maybe I need more sleep. I have an appointment for bloodwork next Tuesday, so we will see.
Thursday folks are up tomorrow!

Today's one of those days I'm happy to be on the other side of. Ended up with an unexpected hurdle at the beginning of my day, which kind of threw the whole morning off. My original plan was to get some chicken in the crockpot to do BBQ wraps for dinner. Except I didn't get to the crockpot until too late. Some choice words later, the BBQ chicken is now made and in the fridge to re-heat and do wraps with tomorrow instead. I effectively swapped tomorrow's meals with today's (with a little bit of adjusting for the breakfast I'd already eaten today), but still stayed on track, even though the day started off a mess. And now dinner for tomorrow is pre-prepped even more!5
-
late once again - it feels like anytime I try to change my sleep pattern, I only go to bed later. not the intention!
Work has been really productive the last 3 days which feels great, and I got to leave right at 5 today. I walked 5K today, which is much longer than I usually go for but my cousin was trying to get us all to do a 5K virtually for world running day, so there I went. Dinner was good - chicken tacos with homemade guac, and I have plenty leftover for lunch and dinner tomorrow. I am having a new couch delivered tomorrow so tonight included a little extra work and movement from taking apart my futon and bringing the pieces down to our building garbage room.
Pretty tired now - I work from home Thursdays & Fridays, so it will be nice to sleep a little later tomorrow.
@YinxFed you are absolutely a runner now!
@ashleycarole86 hope the course had some good lunch options for you today3 -

Yesterday was another good day ! No snacking after 6pm... that seems to be my key.
I did a walk at work, then a 20 min video, and my 15 squats.

Hi WaistAways! My name is Jolene and I live in SW Colorado with my husband and two dogs. I am on here for the same reasons as many people - to help with the accountability needed to lose weight - but as you can see from my weigh-in, that is not happening currently. Also, I am the team motivator, but I respect that I have not been able to motivate myself or really anyone else since I haven't been on here in two weeks. And, I do apologize about that.
In the last two weeks I've had some work drama, a big, long road trip to South Dakota for a wedding, and then some not so great (but could be worse) news from the doctor.
***This might be TMI, especially for our male members, but if not TMI for you, read on*** I have been having infrequent, but somewhat intense pain in my left breast for over a year. I went to the doctor to get it checked out. She sent me in for a mammogram and possible ultrasound, and that appointment was yesterday. They did the mammogram, but then only wanted an ultrasound on my right breast (the one that hasn't been hurting as much or as often). They found abnormal looking fibrous tissue that they now want to do a biopsy on. So, the rest of yesterday and some of today, I get to wait to hear from my doctor to schedule the biopsy. I'm fairly confident that it's nothing to be worried about, but biopsies don't happen unless it has the potential to be something. So, I did what many people would do when I got home last night, I poured a strong drink and ate a Like It size container of ice cream from Cold Stone. ***TMI section over***
As for my goals right now, I am concentrating on getting back to healthy habits, especially after the long road trip and the uncertainty of upcoming doctor visits. Today, I have a healthy meal prepped for lunch along with healthy snacks, I do plan to go to CrossFit tonight, and I will make sure I get some exercise this weekend and meal prep for next week.
@Gidgitgoescrzy - I LOVED the pictures and am so happy you got to go on that trip... finally!
Lastly, welcome to all of our new members! And, to all members, I will do better at motivating now that I am back into a routine.

The little treats at the mall won yesterday. :') Tracked it anyway, ouch. I'm picking up my friend from work, gonna see if I can work a salad or something in tonight because I want veggies.5
-
@Lyss983 even though you had a curve ball thrown at you, you were able to roll with it and still did well! Kudos to you for switching your meals for your days and making it work for you!
@Kali225 Great job walking a 5k! I hope your foot doesn't hurt today from that.
@MaddawgMadsen thinking about you and hoping the breast biopsy goes ok! Keep us posted. Now that you had your drink and ice cream, when you get stressed and worried, go for a walk or do some squats!
@ElfBodGoals I feel ya on the bad snacks yesterday. I recovered today and ate under calories. I hope you were able to swing things back around.
I planned my meals for the most part today, since I ended up over eating yesterday on some candy I didn't even want so why did I eat it? I am under my calories today, but still didn't make up for yesterday completely. I am almost at my step goal, and plan to go for a walk around the neighborhood with my husband in a few minutes to get the rest of my steps in for the day. I also went for a walk on lunch which is actually really nice to get away from the desk when I'm not swamped3 -
Hi everyone 😊
So sorry, life got in a way and I have not posted in a while 😢
I'm not sure if I am still on a team 😢

Snuck a glance at the scale this morning and it may not be a loss tomorrow from where I was 2 weeks ago. 3 days at a bachelorette weekend will probably do that. Overall though, I feel this week has been pretty solid.
I got a new couch delivered today and I LOVE it. My living room looks so good and cohesive now and I got rid of the nearly-falling-apart futon that I had previously in this space.
I've been really consistent this whole year with dance cardio on Tuesdays thanks to involving some friends, in person and virtually. So I decided to apply that logic to other workouts, and today marked the first of hopefully perpetual weeks where I got on Zoom with a girlfriend and we both did an upper body strength workout (not the same one, just doing our own things - together!). Another friend may join next week and the plan is to do a strength workout of some kind each week.
@MaddawgMadsen all good thoughts headed your way - sorry you are dealing with some medical uncertainty on top of other things! But glad to see you back in the chat.
@strong_fit_ells same to you, always happy to see you pop back in!4 -
Kind of busy day today, but managed to squeeze in some Fitness Boxing 2 on the Switch. Tried the No Mercy setting that ended up being 12 minutes long. Will probably try to do two back to back tomorrow!4
-
@Kali225 so smart to make your workouts a social affair.. what a great way to spend your time.. being active with friends!
@MaddawgMadsen sounds like a stressful time, hope the biopsy result comes back soon, wishing you all the best and so happy you followed up with a doc when you sensed something wasn't right
We had a night of wine on the deck and just enjoyed our outdoor space, and as a result I overate. We have an event tonight with friends at the zoo so I'll need to make good choices leading into that. Our city had a critical water main break and we woke up yesterday to water restrictions that are likely to be in place for a while. Hoping it rained overnight for our plants..5 -
Yesterday was another good day, we walked in the morning, and I did my squats, and food was good.
Today is going to be good, we aren't walking, so I think I will do a 40 minute video instead - today is off day from squats
I think tomorrow our goal is to go kayaking for a little bit in the morning, just to see how the muscle memory is, it's been a while since we kayaked. Then to the pool for some relaxation. Sunday we will do all the house stuff.
Have a fabulous weekend !2 -
@MaddawgMadsen Good luck with the biopsy. Thats scary and stressful, I think the strong drink and ice cream were necessary!4

I’m not getting notifications from MFP anymore so apologies for missing weigh-in last week.
Hi everyone, I am Chelsey and I live in Rhode Island. My husband and I have a dog who we spoil every chance we can. I’ve been successful with weight loss in the past, going from my highest of over 220lbs to my lowest of 163lbs and I remind myself it’s about consistency.
In May, I stayed roughly the same weight, which was good because we had travel plans to NYC, and then I had my sister’s birthday celebration and then a wedding the following weekend. I recommitted to using Noom to help my progress. I am also being more mindful of my weekends and the potential to splurge and undo all my hard work during the week.
I am also onto Tier 2 of Sydney’s Summertime Fine workout program for this year and it’s been a good challenge. I’m already going up in weights and pushing myself to try a higher weight instead of what I’ve historically done. I continue to do spin classes and yoga classes on the weekends for a total of 5 workouts per week.

I went off yesterday, too I'm potentially buying a bicycle today, so I can hit up the bike paths around town with my boyfriend. Can't outbike a 3000 calorie diet, though... unless I commit to becoming an Olympian. Tracking my bad days makes it clear how I got here, at least!!
I sort of ate my feelings yesterday, overwhelmed with all the changes I need to make and lamenting that I'm but 5'3 and there's not a calorie calculator in the world that suggests I can eat 2000 calories without being super active compared to my potato ways. I want desserts every day but I also acknowledge they taste better when you don't do that. I have fruit that I love and needs eating, so I'll try having that post-dinner tonight.
Two days in a row of post-work socialization where I'm the primary driver in the group may have been a bad idea. I didn't get home until bedtime for two days and I feel like I haven't taken care of myself at all. Here's to the weekend.6 -

Wow. This is the first time I have posted a weigh-in for someone else to put in the spreadsheet for years. I am liking how much more accountable it is making me feel.

Well, better than a gain after my weekend away I guess! I really want out of this decade lol. And I would love to be materially closer to 200 lbs by the time of my friend's wedding that I am in - mid October. Have to keep that in mind anytime I want to snack or binge. This losing weight thing is REALLY HARD.
@wishfuljune my friend is also doing Summertime Fine, she did her upper body day yesterday over zoom with me while I did my own workout. I think she said something similar, she feels some strength growing already. I've never done a Sydney workout!
@ElfBodGoals very familiar with the urge to eat after thinking about all the weight I want to lose and how daunting it feels. A "throw in the towel"-kind of feeling. Unsolicited advice so feel free to ignore me - if you are feeling overwhelmed at the idea of cutting way below 2000 calories on average or wherever you have been sitting, the worst thing you could do is try to meet a really low goal like 1200-1400. I first downloaded MFP at the suggestion of a college roommate in March 2014 and it gave me 1260 calories as my goal. I was a 19-year-old, 5'8", woman - and something near 1200 calories was actually a patently ridiculous goal, even for trying to lose a lot of weight. I wish I had known that then, but I didn't have any context for calories at the time, having never tracked them before. I do think that goal and MFP's lack of true nutritional education ultimately set me down a somewhat disastrous path of restriction (which then led to binges and some really disordered eating).
That said, I'm sure plenty of people on this team have used MFP's goals as their targets and it has worked. Everyone is so different. But you could start somewhere more like 1700-1800 and see how you go. And actually if you do have some consistent 3000 calorie days as you mentioned, 2000 a day would come out to a cut on average for at least the first stage of loss.
Okay advice over.6 -

Thanks for the motivation with the squat challenge! I know I really really need some sort of strength training. Daily squats don't quite work for me atm, so I made my own version with alternating days of dead lifts and modified pushups.6 -
@Kali225 Thanks! I changed my goal to losing half a pound a week and my limit went up to 1850. Definitely going to be easier this way, I'm just frustrated with myself because I was halfway to my goal at one point... in 2019 :')6
