Yesterday was another good day, we walked in the morning, and I did my squats, and food was good.
Today is going to be good, we aren't walking, so I think I will do a 40 minute video instead - today is off day from squats
I think tomorrow our goal is to go kayaking for a little bit in the morning, just to see how the muscle memory is, it's been a while since we kayaked. Then to the pool for some relaxation. Sunday we will do all the house stuff.
Have a fabulous weekend !2 -
@MaddawgMadsen Good luck with the biopsy. Thats scary and stressful, I think the strong drink and ice cream were necessary!4

I’m not getting notifications from MFP anymore so apologies for missing weigh-in last week.
Hi everyone, I am Chelsey and I live in Rhode Island. My husband and I have a dog who we spoil every chance we can. I’ve been successful with weight loss in the past, going from my highest of over 220lbs to my lowest of 163lbs and I remind myself it’s about consistency.
In May, I stayed roughly the same weight, which was good because we had travel plans to NYC, and then I had my sister’s birthday celebration and then a wedding the following weekend. I recommitted to using Noom to help my progress. I am also being more mindful of my weekends and the potential to splurge and undo all my hard work during the week.
I am also onto Tier 2 of Sydney’s Summertime Fine workout program for this year and it’s been a good challenge. I’m already going up in weights and pushing myself to try a higher weight instead of what I’ve historically done. I continue to do spin classes and yoga classes on the weekends for a total of 5 workouts per week.

I went off yesterday, too I'm potentially buying a bicycle today, so I can hit up the bike paths around town with my boyfriend. Can't outbike a 3000 calorie diet, though... unless I commit to becoming an Olympian. Tracking my bad days makes it clear how I got here, at least!!
I sort of ate my feelings yesterday, overwhelmed with all the changes I need to make and lamenting that I'm but 5'3 and there's not a calorie calculator in the world that suggests I can eat 2000 calories without being super active compared to my potato ways. I want desserts every day but I also acknowledge they taste better when you don't do that. I have fruit that I love and needs eating, so I'll try having that post-dinner tonight.
Two days in a row of post-work socialization where I'm the primary driver in the group may have been a bad idea. I didn't get home until bedtime for two days and I feel like I haven't taken care of myself at all. Here's to the weekend.6 -

Wow. This is the first time I have posted a weigh-in for someone else to put in the spreadsheet for years. I am liking how much more accountable it is making me feel.

I'm finding my body composition has taken a rather poor turn lately, though. Need to work on the legs more - things are tight around the thighs7 -

Well, better than a gain after my weekend away I guess! I really want out of this decade lol. And I would love to be materially closer to 200 lbs by the time of my friend's wedding that I am in - mid October. Have to keep that in mind anytime I want to snack or binge. This losing weight thing is REALLY HARD.
@wishfuljune my friend is also doing Summertime Fine, she did her upper body day yesterday over zoom with me while I did my own workout. I think she said something similar, she feels some strength growing already. I've never done a Sydney workout!
@ElfBodGoals very familiar with the urge to eat after thinking about all the weight I want to lose and how daunting it feels. A "throw in the towel"-kind of feeling. Unsolicited advice so feel free to ignore me - if you are feeling overwhelmed at the idea of cutting way below 2000 calories on average or wherever you have been sitting, the worst thing you could do is try to meet a really low goal like 1200-1400. I first downloaded MFP at the suggestion of a college roommate in March 2014 and it gave me 1260 calories as my goal. I was a 19-year-old, 5'8", woman - and something near 1200 calories was actually a patently ridiculous goal, even for trying to lose a lot of weight. I wish I had known that then, but I didn't have any context for calories at the time, having never tracked them before. I do think that goal and MFP's lack of true nutritional education ultimately set me down a somewhat disastrous path of restriction (which then led to binges and some really disordered eating).
That said, I'm sure plenty of people on this team have used MFP's goals as their targets and it has worked. Everyone is so different. But you could start somewhere more like 1700-1800 and see how you go. And actually if you do have some consistent 3000 calorie days as you mentioned, 2000 a day would come out to a cut on average for at least the first stage of loss.
Okay advice over.6 -

Thanks for the motivation with the squat challenge! I know I really really need some sort of strength training. Daily squats don't quite work for me atm, so I made my own version with alternating days of dead lifts and modified pushups.6 -
@Kali225 Thanks! I changed my goal to losing half a pound a week and my limit went up to 1850. Definitely going to be easier this way, I'm just frustrated with myself because I was halfway to my goal at one point... in 2019 :')6

I had a great day today. Work went by fast which was nice. This evening we went to my in-laws and grilled out. I knew we were eating there and had a pretty light breakfast and lunch and then ate reasonably while there. I was also able to say no to dessert which was amazing since she got my favorite, hershey pie. I ate within calorie range, and got my steps in today!
@ElfBodGoals I also increased my calorie range recently and that has helped me mentally tremendously. I also find using a range better than a set number. I'm not sure why at all but, I think if I go over the lower number, then I don't say f it and keep eating.
I also love love love desserts. Sugar free jello is my go to when I want chocolate. I also have been into halo top ice cream recently. I find that if I don't eat added sugars (really any candy, desserts, etc) for about 4-5 days, I actually don't crave or need them as much.
@Gidgitgoescrzy do you have a kayak or a place nearby where you can rent them? @Kali225 didn't you do a lot of kayaking last summer and fall too? I used to kayak and I know it's a great workout for your arms!5 -
Another solid day here - stayed on track and did my workout. Now my arms feel like lead
Tomorrow morning, I'll do our weekly meal plan, then off to the grocery store we'll go!5 -
Good morning Waistaways
I am so sorry I have been away.
Can I please come back to the group challenge
Instead of "strong fit ells" I should call myself "shadow ells"
I think my last weigh in was 240lbs
Today is 242.8lbs
Thank you so much5 -
@Kali225: If you have dumbbells at home, I highly recommend Sydney’s workouts! She’s very intentional about her monthly plans that she puts together, and the longest workouts are usually 45 minutes including a warm up and cooldown. 😊
Today I am off to spin class and the farmers’ market, my favorite Saturday routines. It’s a gorgeous day here so I imagine the market will be a little busy.
Pre-planning our meals for this upcoming week we’ve got:
Lunch: Crockpot sesame honey chicken with rice and broccoli, Grilled chicken with coleslaw and potato salad bowls
Dinner: Sante Fe stuffed peppers, skirt steak elote tacos, and grilled shrimp with red potato salad.
This afternoon we have a birthday party at a vineyard, and then tomorrow I have a vinyasa yoga class and house chores. Happy weekend all!

I was able to go for a few bike rides this week. Need to be better with my carbs! I guess that's my goal for next week. Limit carbs to once a day.5 -
Hey team!
I can proudly report I've tracked something in my food diary over the last week. While only a few days made it to completion, it's a start!6 -
Hi Ellie @strong_fit_ells I sent you a message!
Love hearing the talk of meal planning and tracking food!
I will say that since I joined @StayFITTer active challenges, I have been walking more! It's a beautiful weekend here so far, I walked this morning and am now relaxing this afternoon. I donated blood today and am feeling weaker than I normally do. So I'm going to work on my crochet project for my niece's birthday and drink a lot of water.
Also, not to turn this conversation morbid, but my hubby and I were looking at life insurance policies and wow...if I lose 40 pounds, the policy would be $13 a month less expensive over the 20 years. And right now, my husband who is older than me, would cost less than me because he weigh's 20 pounds less. There's some motivation to lose weight in the next few months to a year before we finally buy a policy (if we ever end up doing it...we've been talking about it for a few years lol).4
