A hurricane hit Houston this week, which caused us to lose power and cell service from early Monday until yesterday morning. Luckily we were able to stay with friends after our portable ac unit was delayed in transit, and our portable generator couldn't handle a window ac unit.
My mom was also a little worried since she just moved down a couple weeks ago and hasn't dealt with a hurricane, but her area only lost power for an hour. She's near a fire station and hospital so that probably helped.
I haven't lifted weights in a month due to everything going on, so the weight loss is likely stress plus lack of muscle growth. I'll get back into it today, but still targeting a goal weight of 180 lbs.4 -

Almost 5 full weeks of tracking and eating well. scale doesn't much show it this week but i'm also continuing to exercise lots and yesterday hit the gym for a killer lower body workout so i'm pretty sore today. i know my weight can go up after strength training. overall i see some changes in how i look and feel, my bike shorts aren't skin tight and even have some wrinkles!
congrats to those who have also had a good week. i see some are struggling so hope you find motivation and support within the group. you can do this!3 -

That sounds so stressful. I’m glad to hear you are back home with power. We don’t have hurricanes where I live, were you prepared before hand? I hope your house is ok and you didn’t loose any temperature sensitive food items.2 -
Hello Shape Shifters. Not much going on here today. It was raining a lot again and it was never dry for longer than 10 minutes at a time. I thought I picked a good moment to bike into town to pick up a package, but ended up thoroughly soaked instead so that was fun. I did a bunch of laundry and stepped in the living room to music to get to my goal.
A while back, Tinus ended up peeing in front of the litterbox again so I decided to try a new one. This is a big box with an opening at the top. I haven't switched them out yet because I want him to get more comfortable going in and out of it first so I am trying to bribe/teach him with treats. So far with mixed results, lol. It's okay, I will give it some time.
I have also been reading 'Brain over binge' which I have been really enjoying. I think once I finish it I will also order the guide book for some more practical help. The book makes a lot of sense to me and I agree with her on most things. Hopefully it will also make a difference in my life, but it is too soon to say. I will keep you updated. Have a good day everyone2 -

We were prepared in terms of food and keeping our fridge powered. We had ordered a portable ac, but it wasn't going to be delivered until the day after the hurricane, and it ended up never coming. I'm not sure my generator could have powered it anyway. And we're fortunate to know enough friends around town, some with whole house generators, that we could go to. It's the first time we lost power for more than a couple hours, so we learned a few things.2 -

I received this message from @cre804 so I’m passing it along — great job on the loss and communication work around, Cindy!
From @cre804: Hi, I’ve been having trouble logging into the app and my post in the group has timed out. I was out of town last weekend and I’m trying to post my weight.

@looneycatblue So pick and choose what you can do and leave the rest. I can't do these exercises, so I'm just walking. Don't let the challenge level knock you out for the week. Just do what you can and we'll be happy with that. Hope to see you in the chat!

Good morning Shape Shifters. Yesterday morning I found a slug on my living room wall which was a bit icky. After moving it outside, I did my morning routine with Tinus and headed out for a walk. The weather was nice and I enjoyed myself. The rest of the day I watched some birds with Tinus, did a lot of gaming and finished reading Brain over binge. I ordered the guide book which I should get tomorrow so I am excited about that. I really think this book will help me with overeating/binging. In the evening I did some weeding along the little path in the back yard. It was getting a little messy and overgrown and Tinus constantly had to dodge or just walk through grasses. I think he appreciated me clearing it out for him. Happy Monday everyone2

The daily card:Asking "What will happen next?" can be very powerful. Just by inviting the question, we prime our minds to be on the lookout, like a cat waiting at a hole for a mouse to come out. With your body relaxed and eyes open, try asaking yourself this question and carefully watch your mind to see what grabs its attention. Where does it move? What is the next thought that arises? What prompted it?2
