Here’s more about my NSV* jump rope progress measures and weight benchmarks:

At my highest weight, I could only jump rope a little because I worried about the motion putting too much pressure on my bladder and causing incontinence. I had to really concentrate on my kegel exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor while jumping 😂🤣😂. Now, I don’t have the bladder problem anymore but I still feel a lot of jiggle … that will dissipate as I get closer to 140. At 125-130, I can jump a lot longer because I’m lighter. I’m not trying to lose weight quickly because I want to maintain as much muscle as possible. One of my goals is to build strength and we always lose some muscle along with fat. So, I hope my slow but steady strategy pays off. 🤞

I hope everything goes well with your son’s surgery @angmarie28! That is really hot weather for Montana! 🥵 — swimming is a nice way to stay active while cooling down. I’d like to swim more because it also reduces the chance of workout injuries.

What are Shape Shifter team members doing to stay active during the heat. My pick-up soccer league was canceled due to thunderstorms last night so I was glad I rowed in the morning before it got too hot. I just barely managed to stay within my daily calorie range but I completed an ab workout with my son indoors which allowed me to end the day with 17 calories left over 😅 I know @frankwbrown is an avid swimmer (among many other activities!) What are you all doing to beat the heat?

    The daily card:
Just like the breath, our connection to the earth is always available to us. By simply paying attention to the feeling of our feet, we can literally ground ourselves at any time. Practice this in different circumstances and in different places so that when you're facing difficult moments in the future, you have an always-accessible tool to bring yourself back to the present moment.

I’m ok with that because it’s my birthday week, my daughter came in town for a few days and my husband just came back from a medical mission trip to Belize.

Many thanks to Patrice for passing along last week’s numbers when my app was being wonky! Hopefully I can post today.

My daughter and I spent the 4th in Las Vegas to see Dead and Company at the Sphere. What an amazing venue! One year ago I was recovering from knee replacement surgery but on the day before the concert, I walked 9.2 miles!

The bummer news is that since I got home I developed an abscessed tooth. Went to an endodontist today and now I must quickly decide if I will attempt a root canal or just have the tooth pulled and go through the process of getting an implant. Some days it just feels like Whack a Mole- I get one thing under control and something else pops up.

In any event, if I can get this post to work, I may share a concert pic later.

    Have a great weekend, y’all!

Got back to weightlifting this week, and was drinking a lot more water since my gym is in my garage (not air-conditioned) in Houston. Also, most of my lunches were deli sandwiches with higher sodium than my normal meals.

    Hi SS Team:
Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday...ended up having to work late, came home, ate a bowl of Special K cereal and went straight to bed...was exhausted and a little nauseous...this heat has been taking it's toll, although today wasn't as bad, so that was nice. I'm so glad the weekend is here. Looking forward to the down time, very much.

Hope you all are having a wonderful start to the weekend! Enjoy it...hydrate and stay as cool as possible!

Ugh. I have been struggling lately. If it’s OK, I am going to stop tracking my steps for the step challenge and just focus on calories and weekly weigh in for now. I want to get back in the habit of tracking and hopefully join the step challenge next month.

Here is my weigh in from Sunday:

Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a good day yesterday. Went for a walk despite the heat, ate a normal amount of food, slept enough, did some reading, laundry and started a puzzle. I will do my very best to keep my food in check today as well so I can get some momentum going. Every day will just get easier if I keep at it. Happy Saturday everyone <3

good morning shape shifters! Happy saturday

my saturday morning weigh in is 185.5 lbs

This week was rough, didn't eat too well (as in not enough). not enough protein, not enough fat, not enough fiber, overall, not even enough calories. I worry that will slow down my efforts.

Also this week, I only went on 2 walks 😓
I need to give myself a good kick in the butt, because working from home is making me hella lazy.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
