Hi, All:
Thought I'd share a NSV from today...I desperately was craving a big cheeseburger this evening...even had the app in my hand twice with the order filled out and ready to hit the big button...put it down and thought about it for another ten minutes, then opened it back up, emptied the cart and closed the app. YAY MEeeee! I had a light lunch today, so that I could eat leftovers for dinner and had already logged my dinner plan, so I came home, stuck to it and thoroughly enjoyed a few homemade leftover banana pancakes with a little sugar free syrup. Also had some chicken for protein.
Anyway, I'm proud of myself for staying away from that drive-thru!

[ Steps ] 16.916I went to the grocery store in the morning and I saw this poplar hawk-moth on the building when I parked my bike. I didn't have my phone with me to take a picture, so after I unpacked at home, I went back. It was big and so pretty. Never seen one before.5 -

I messed up on Wednesday. I hadn't reached my 10k steps but planned to get them in that evening. However, I ended up going out for sushi with my brother and sister-in-law and my niece who was visiting from Portland (this is the niece who built her own guitar, and it's beautiful!). I woke up Thursday morning with a dread, knowing I probably fell short, ending a 20-day streak. Oh well, back to square one.3 -

Well, I had managed a 0.7 lb loss this month until last Friday. I might have mentioned this here, but my weight jumped up almost 5 pounds last Friday, because I changed the batteries in my scale and/or was retaining water after a Sierra Club hike on Thursday. That gain wasn't fully reflected Friday because I use a 7-day average. I'm assuming it had more to do with water weight, based on my scales readings for fat mass, lean mass and water weight, and it took days to come back down.
So I end July almost 3 pounds heavier based on a 7-day average weight, but I'm looking forward to a good August.
My goal has changed from a daily calorie limit or calorie deficit to simply "weigh less than yesterday". That's been true for the past 5 days. Let's see if I can make it a full month.4 -

What a week. I'm exhausted, I don't even know how many hours I worked, but I know I haven't stopped in 2 weeks. Yesterday I finally had a day off, but was busy all day. Today I'm cleaning house, ugh, the laundry and dished NEVER END.6 -

Thank goodness for the decimal point ! At least it's a loss.I was getting down about a tiny loss then I looked at a new pack of butter I opened this morning.I have lost a bit more than this so seems OK when I thought about it.I have cut out butter & cheese from my diet to try & lower my cholesterol without statins.It was 6.2 but now 5.1 so I'm pleased it's working.
