It’s wonderful to see so many positive reports!

@Tomsgal1985 - Thanks for sharing the great picture of you and your son.

@p8m6bwghh9 - I need to pre-log my food like you and @Zaxa2021. I’ll start today! How is your football watching food plan going?

@globalhiker - Nice idea to replace the Chinese food noodles with more broccoli! That kind of substitution will make a big difference in the long term. Thanks for sharing your winning strategy!

@pedal__power - I’m so glad to hear that you’re enjoying your new (Back-to-School) Fall routine!

    @alleykat69 – Wow, 🀩! Amazing loss! You’re doing great.

@Pupowl - Congratulations on so many β€œPerfect” days in a row. Keep up the good work!

@jessicakrall8 - I appreciate all the work you and @Pupowl do for the group. Best wishes for the weekly challenge, everyone!

@frankwbrown - Congratulations on your 25-mile bike ride! β€” that’s quite an accomplishment!

@bearchested - I think you’ve been concentrating on weight lifting. Frank’s long bike ride reminded me of your ride across the state. Are you still cycling?

We live near a soccer field where a lot of young children play. We expanded parking in front of our house to accommodate a few more spots but it’s still very hectic on heavy soccer days, especially weekends. (Expanded rant below on that in case you want to skip it 🀣)***

*** [Begin rant] Recently, the City decided to eliminate some of the park green space to add parking, which I opposed. Once they take away green space, it seems very difficult to reclaim it. There are other areas where I think they could expand. For example, some developers requested a big reduction in parking spaces when they built a new apartment building (that blocked sunshine to the park), claiming it would β€˜incentivize’ walking and other car alternatives to cars. They didn’t win the case entirely but they still got some reduced parking as part of the negotiations so it’s an exception to the building code β€”Unfortunately, all too common.

I think they should open their visitor spots for overflow parking and the City could arrange shared parking agreements with some of the local businesses that are closed on the weekends (by paying them a fee), etc. Anyway, I think there are many creative solutions that would be better than taking away green space from the park when there’s already a shortage of open space. [End rant] 😬***

I hope I didn’t inadvertently leave anyone out while reviewing all the uplifting comments on this page. I’m also cheering on anyone who is struggling and encourage you to post your experiences and feelings, too. It helps to get support and share our challenges. We can persevere together. Thinking of you as you are present for your Mom @LaurieWrobo, and as you cope with the grief of your recent loss @angmarie28. It’s a difficult time but I’m sure you bring/brought much comfort to your mothers πŸ’”.

Rainbow challenge: I'll try it Monday after I go shopping. Realized I don't eat anything purple or yellow, like ever. Greek olives count for purple?

Sept. 15th walking challenge: I'm in. Whoever wants to partner, let me know. I really need to increase my walk time since I am prepping for a hiking trip next month.

Today: ran/walked 4.8 miles; later on mall-walked with a friend 1 hr. 15min normal pace. Today was my 1x a week "free meal" day. I eat anything I want, as much as I want but it's only 1 meal a week and only if I did my planned exercises for the week. Had 2 bean enchiladas with salad and overdosed on chocolate frozen greek yogurt. Sounds crazy to reward myself with calories, but it works for me and it somehow tricks my body into thinking I am not starving it but I will really restrict myself M-Th next week for sure.

Good morning Shape Shifters. I went for a nice, longer walk yesterday morning. The temperature finally dropped here and it is crazy the difference it makes for my walking. I did 20 minutes more than the day before, yet it felt a lot easier than the shorter walk in warmer weather. Really happy about that. I went to get groceries after my walk, but they didn't have the potatoes I wanted and not the right bread either so that annoyed me a lot. I did get a vegan spread to try out on bread and it was really nice. It is hard to find savory things to put on bread that isn't super expensive or high calories so I am glad to have this now. I crashed hard again in the afternoon, but I managed to stay awake. I did my gym rings workout before dinner (which was a boring meal bar because they didn't have my potatoes, blegh) and overall had a pretty lazy day. Happy Tuesday everyone. <3

Good morning Shape Shifters. Another day with rain predicted, but there was nothing at all in the morning. So back upstairs to change into my walking clothes again! I am really glad I went for my walk. The weather was great; 14 degrees, windy, no sun. I combined a few of my favourite trails and ended up walking for around 90 minutes. Easily could have gone longer, my body felt really good. I saw a lot of cool stuff too. Not even 10 minutes in, a cute roedeer crossed the path in front of me. I saw two huge bird of prey flying through the forest, a hare scared the devil out of me only a meter away from the trail when it suddenly started running away and I saw a green woodpecker. But the best thing was a new critter encounter. I am always really careful with where I place my feet so I scan the ground in front of me a lot. I saw something very small wiggling around in the middle of a sandy path. It was a teeny tiny baby newt. I lost my mind when I saw it; it was sooo cute!!! I have never seen a newt before and this one was too adorable for words. Since it was in the middle of the road, I moved it to some vegetation (after taking a picture with my phone of course!). It totally made my day.
In the afternoon I taped off some stuff by the stairs so I could start painting. The paint was absolutely garbage; very watery and it had really bad coverage. It would have been a waste of my time and energy to keep going, so I only did the ugliest spots and then gave up. I don't think you can see a difference though. Oh well, it will look a lot more fun once I put up all the pictures so I am not too bothered about it, saved me a lot of work.
Also yesterday evening was finally cardboard/paper pickup day. We did get a lot of rain in the afternoon, but I really wanted to get rid of all the boxes in the garage, so I waited as long as possible before putting it all outside. Hopefully it didn't get too wet. I saw most people already had boxes out since the morning so at least I tried.
I was pretty hungry all day so I had some extra food, but I was still within my goal. I was really tempted to get pizza! Happy Wednesday everyone. <3

Sounds good. I'll be on the lookout for the start date. We're doing a road trip to Utah again. 3rd time. Getting in some hikes we missed before at Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, and some outside of Henrieville. May rent a Jeep to get to some slot canyons that look pretty amazing.
