@morenin , if it was a real 8 pounds of fat, it would mean that you consumed 28K extra calories in 2 weeks. So not likely 8 pounds of fat. Still, that's not much of a comfort when you're looking at 8 pounds on the scale. Try to get plenty of fluids, lots of fruits and vegetables (good fiber), and good quality sleep. (((hugs)))

I ordered 2 boxes of Sugar Free Peanut Brittle from See's Candy; I ate an entire box already and I'm saving the second one for closer to Halloween, I wanted a treat for myself. I love this candy.

I've watched lots of YouTube Videos of my Trike, so far only good reviews. I should know how to operate it before it gets here. So excited for that.

I'm feeling good but my doctor noticed that I have a low heart rate, and I have to take my blood pressure and monitor my heart rate and then go back in a month and share that data with her, it was only 46 when I saw her last week. I hope this in not going to be another health issue to deal with. I don't like any of the treatments, maybe there is a pill I can take to increase my heart rate.

@megnolia82 I'm asking the best way to handle your sitatuion and will get back to you if you'll need to reapply as if you don't weigh in until then you'd be dropped from the team. I know when people come back and request to return to a team they're able to do that any time so I asked for advice on it. Thanks for checking in I'll get back to you in the next day.

@FushiaKat Yum I love that peanut brittle too, enjoy it! Oh no I hope you won’t end up with another health issue either, I’m sure there IS a pill to speed up your heart rate.

    @baodell17724 @Digger61 @gemwolf110 Great job team winners!

@DrewsAnna I hope you’re feeling better too Metformin side effects definitely aren’t fun. I told my Dad for years I thought his stomach problems were from Metformin and he finally stopped it and feels way better. Luckily he lost weight and his doctor told him to give not taking it a try. I hope once a day helps I remember taking less helped me at one point too. The first few months I couldn’t leave the house at all. You’ll get the macros down MFP is real helpful for figuring out all of that.

@Cornanda Yes mums are definitely popular this time of year, it’s the first year in awhile I didn’t get some for my birthday. They ARE pretty!

@trooworld Oh no I’m sorry to hear that about your back! It’s frustrating when one thing is wrong we end up with more soon after from walking differently. I hope you’re feeling better when you read this. Shoot I’m sorry your back is still hurting so much, I think sometimes we DO need to rest for a few days.

@TeresaW2024 Hey that no back up plan is smart to stay on track until Saturday!

@laurelfit57 Sure I’ll share the Buttternut recipe as I screenshot it, I Googled for the chicken taco meat and didn’t save that one. My neighbor complained about all the butternut steps because it has bacon and maple walnuts you make so I’m planning to take her some when I make it. That’s a lot of time on a bench with the performers, I’m glad they were so good! I don’t blame you for the rest you definitely needed it after everything you watched and taking the dogs for exercise. You sound like you’re making some good meals keep it up!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR CURRENT WEIGHT AND BODY IMAGE? I’m not liking where I am but have been on the right track again lately so I feel a little more in control.

The answers to the above question were very inspiring and many feeling kind of unhappy and lost right now. What can we do about that? I’d doing a little better lately but still feel overweight and not thrilled so I’m in that camp too. It HAS helped I’ve been eating more protein and that’s helping my workouts. For me I need to focus on getting back to it after I eat out and not let that derail me. Thursday is a fundraiser for the charity at a fish grill so I should be able to eat decent for that.

Hi friends! Had a mostly mellow day, I got the e-mails out last night then went to bed. This morning I worked out and rested reading for awhile. Checked on my garden bed and all is good there, the last piece for my drip system should arrive today so I’ll need to set that up in the next day or two. I have a couple calls to make then am planning to get back to my book and garden. Have a great Wed!

@Katmary71 Is that recipe on Skinnytaste.com?

I took my best buddy out for a walk today around the neighborhood. He was so happy, he got to see chickens, a turkey and squirrels. He also got to see 3 Amazon trucks (or, maybe the same truck 3 times) and a mail trucks. Lol... he thinks they are delivering treats for him. I started cleaning out one of my gardens and forgot to turn my watch. Oh well, maybe next time. It was a good day. I loved being outside. It was sunny and mild mid-50's.

@FushiaKat I hope you can get your heart rate figured out.

@Katmary71 Yeah it is. It does feel better today! I agree about the rest. re: the answers to the discussion question...for me, I need to not feel like every time my husband gets a treat from the store, I need to get one, too. He has a different health level, a different body type, and he's at a healthy weight. I am not. That recipe looks really yummy.

@DrewsAnna I'm glad you got out with the pup and enjoyed yourselves.

Hi all. My back is feeling a lot better, maybe 70% better. I made it through all day yesterday. I have two appointments with the surgeon's office today: one is with the surgeon, it is a pre-op appointment. The other is with their dietician. Once these two appointments are done, they will submit to insurance. I will have my gastric bypass surgery by the end of the year. I'm excited but nervous.

@Katmary71 That butternut squash dish looks amazing! I have saved the recipe and will be making it for sure! To save time, you could buy some candied walnuts or pecans.

Good morning! I had a very busy day yesterday, and today will be busy too. I have an eye appointment to get some new glasses. It’s been too long, and I’m a little sad that I will have to pick out my frames by myself and won’t have Joe to help. After that, I need to run to Hobby Lobby and Lowes for some stuff for the Pastor Appreciation gifts we are presenting to the pastor this Sunday. I don’t know why this always falls to me to take care of every year, but it does! I need to get Joe off and get my workout done. It’s shoulder day! :)

Question: How do you feel about your current weight and body image?

I’m definitely annoyed with my current weight. It was the best feeling when I got out of plus-size clothes, and I want that feeling back! I’ve learned that beating myself up does nothing for my body image. I am much more than this excess body fat that I want to lose. I want a strong, healthy body that can do lots of things. The weight loss will follow if I keep doing the common-sense stuff to get me there.

@19shmoo69 – Continued prayers for your son. Oliver had 2 seizures yesterday. Thankfully they were only about 3 minutes each. The doctor upped his medicine again.

@trooworld – So sorry about your back and hip. Was it triggered by all the walking to and thru Little Italy? Great photos, BTW.

@laurelfit57 – Love that you made the sheet pan of roasted veggies. Yum! What seasonings did you use? How old are the 2 grandsons that stayed the night? That hoop performance sounds pretty cool. Maybe next time you can take a camp chair to sit on? What an exhausting but fun weekend!

@DrewsAnna – So glad you’re feeling better! Um…you misquoted who you quoted… hahahahaha
    lb6glg8mkemc.jpg

@baodell17724 – You are AMAZING! That weight loss is something to be so proud of!

@Katmary71 – How many fundraisers does your charity host? Seems like a lot.

@morenin – How awesome! And super fun Halloween tee!

Man, it’s so hard to say no to food that is delicious but fattening. My NSV yesterday was that Hunter made the vegan chickie strips and instead of having half a cup of Hidden Valley Plant Based Ranch at 440 calories, I made my own with tofu and no oil. Same half cup amount was only 73 calories with 8 grams of protein!

On a sad note, Oliver had 2 breakout seizures yesterday. One in the morning just 20 minutes before he was due for his medicine. The doctor increased his meds, but Syd didn’t give him the additional dose because he was halfway to the next one. They came over for the day. In the evening, I was holding him and he had another one just 15 minutes before his medicine was due. Poor little guy. He’s on the higher dose now and was fine this morning. I feel bad, but it also makes me feel loved because Syd said he comes out of his seizures and gets back to “normal” faster when he hears my voice. She said that’s why she calls me immediately when they start happening. That sweet little guy is one of my reasons to get this weight off. He needs his Grammy.

So what is everyone having for dinner this evening? I roasted acorn squash and made some Israeli couscous. Not sure what protein I am going to have. Might press some tofu and marinate it with a Carolina BBQ sauce I picked up.

    Happy Tuesday!

@katmary71 thanks so much for sharing that recipe, it sounds and looks absolutely delicious! It sounds like you had a delightful day!

@trooworld I am so impressed with all the great care you are getting, love that they are setting up with a dietician as well. Makes sense to be both excited and nervous.

@TeresaW2024 I am sorry that Jo won't be there to help you pick up the glasses. Sometimes it really is the little things that we miss so much. It probably falls on your shoulders because they know it will get done♥️.

@morenin nice shirt! Those pants do look pretty darn baggy.

@Vegan4lyfe2012 I kept it very simple with the besties veggies, a little olive oil, salt and pepper and balsamic glaze. I have to say they were delicious! It was actually my granddaughter and grandson that spent the night, they are eight and six. They have been coming to grandmas for a sleepover on Friday nights since they were babies. My daughter and son-in-law get a date night and I get some very special grandma time. I'm so sorry about Oliver, I know how hard that is. I'm so glad that you are such a comfort to him. One of my big reasons for losing weight was definitely my grandkids. When they were little I had a really hard time getting up and down off the floor with them🤪.

With the weather starting to turn, I am trying to get all the winter stuff out and put summer stuff away. I got most of my front patio and front closet done. Next is to get the garage and back patio done. Took my mum to the doctor this morning and she wanted to do some running around. I really am trying to take a break in the afternoon, sometimes it is a challenge. Had a class with Ty this afternoon, she is really coming along as far as agility goes, now her walking on leash is a totally different story🤣. Hope everybody had a great Wednesday! I was able to stay on track, I can check off everything on my list today :-).

@laurelfit57 You're welcome! I need to channel your energy and get going at home! Go Ty locing hearing how well agility training is going.

@AmbersWay Woohoo that's a big goal but I think you can reach it!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Prayers continuing for Oliver. Oliver does need his grammy I'm glad he responds better with you. Yummy dinner! I had salad and popcorn.

@morenin Happy Halloween, congratulations on the smaller shirt!

@TeresaW2024 I love your response to the question I want that feeling back too! Good luck getting everything done. Ha I think you and I remember the things that others may overlook, I've initiated making sure our charity president gets gifts at the volunteer appreciation event/ It's very nice of you to do!

@trooworld Oh good I' glad about the rest helping your back! Good luck with the appointments I'm excited for you too!

@DrewsAnna That's not a Skinnytaste recipe she does have some similar ones. Ever since I clicked on it I'm getting fall harvest salads left and right on Facebook. What a fun walk for your best buddy!

Hi team! Had the weirdest day. I was at the farm this morning then came home to rest before my women's wellness exam. On the way to the office I get extremely tired then I felt like I was going to faint, my BP was 90/60 which is real low for me but they didn't really care I was barely conscious. The doctor blamed it on my diabetes and I managed to get home in one piece thinking I needed food but it wasn't my diabetes my BS was fine. I don't even feel like I had a doctor's appointment I was so out-of-it. I took a nap and am taking it easy tonight, no clue what's going on. Have a great Thursday!

I finally heard back from Stridekick about the Garmin data not syncing. They (of course) blame Garmin. Here's their canned reply to my support requests:

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out! We wanted to inform you that Garmin has recently updated their requirements for how applications integrate with their devices. Our team is actively working on meeting these new requirements, and we expect to have a fix available shortly.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any further questions, feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,

@TeresaW2024 I wonder, could you have sent Joe selfies of you in the frames so he could still take part? Is he good with his phone? I hope it went well and you found some you like. I like your answer to the discussion question!

@lislisa123 Way to go, nice loss!

@morenin Woo hoo! Great NSV! And I love the shirt!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you. No, it was triggered by hauling in the groceries by myself on Saturday before Little Italy. I won't be doing that again! LOL I love the Office, both the American version and the British version. :) Awesome that you made your own ranch. Did you like it as much as the fatty version? I'm so sorry about Oliver's seizures. Yes, he needs his Grammy, what a good reason to lose the weight. Last night, we had sandwiches and chips. Not ideal, but my husband didn't feel like cooking. Tonight, we are having a shrimp noodle stir fry. Your dinner sounds yummy and healthy!

@laurelfit57 Yes, I am so glad I switched! Although the higher level of care comes with a cost...it's more expensive than the other place (they take my insurance, too, but the new place requires that I pay for a $1750 aftercare package that includes dietician visits and other stuff that aren't covered by insurance). The cost of the surgery and the doctor's fees would have probably cost the same but the other place wasn't as upfront about the costs. Good luck getting the winter stuff out. I think Ty will come around for the walks, she's a good girl! Good job with your day!

@Katmary71 Thank you! That's really weird what happened with your BP and feeling like that. I'm glad you took it easy afterward. How do you feel today?

Hi all. I had my appointments. My surgery will most likely either be Dec 17 or Dec 20. We have to wait for insurance to respond, which will be a couple of weeks. Then, I will find out the date for sure. I will have to be on a liquid diet for 10 days prior to the surgery in order to shrink my liver. It will be hard but I'll do it. I will start off 2025 as a whole new me!

As you folks predicted, the weight is dropping off at a rate of about a pound a day. Thus, almost certainly most of it is water weight. Been super stressed about meeting all my family's medical needs, but I think we're starting to get it organized, at least. I am still waiting for the results of my chest xray; I think they must have had to send the film to the Antarctic or something the time this is taking... I suppose I'll call again today and poke them to see if they just plain forgot.

I'm still too sick to go back to gym classes for the time being. Even walking for extended periods of time is exhausting and winding me. I'd be embarrassed, but I know it's not my fitness, but the illness. I have however found something I should be able to do even sick! I joined Down Dog's November challenge. Even slightly sick, I think I should be able to manage 15 minutes of chair yoga a day, and it should still benefit me. (If I can't do it, I'm going to have to go in for more intensive medical care!)

@morenin Congrats on the smaller shirt and those jeans almost falling down! Keep it up, girl! :star:

@vegan4lyfe2012, great job making a lower-calorie dipping sauce! Poor Oliver, and yes, he needs his grandma to be strong, healthy, and happy so that he can lean on you as he grows. <3

@Katmary71 Yikes that is low blood pressure, and it's scary! I wish your doctor had cared more about it. Joe takes meds for his low blood pressure to keep him from face-planting all the time.

@trooworld I would have sent Joe selfies, but he was napping when I went. I took a pic of myself to show him what I had chosen. :) Wow, I am excited for you to start out 2025 with a whole new you. It will be super hard, but you know you can do what needs to be done. <3

Good morning! Well, yesterday, I managed to buy a pair of glasses and sunglasses all by myself, and I paid a disgusting amount of money for them! I went to Stanton Optical, where the optometrist was virtual. Very high techy! Today, I’m home and taking a day off from working out because I’m sore all over from the last couple of days of weights. I will do church work and some housework. You all have a great day! :)

@katmary71 that's a little scary that your blood pressure was so low. Do you take blood pressure medication?

@trooworld sounds like the new place is setting you up for success for the long-haul. I know the fees are expensive, but in the long run, probably very well worth it. That is so exciting that you have a surgery date set… Almost :-). 10 days on liquids will be tough, we will be here to cheer you on!

@Teresaw2024 isn't it crazy how much prescription glasses and sunglasses cost! I have never heard of a virtual optometrist. You must have been working out really hard!

I didn't go to spin today, instead did the two time agility classes this morning. Last week it was really tough, but I came prepared this week! I brought an apple and a protein shake with a sprinkle of instant coffee in it. I was able to get through both classes without feeling like my brain was fried.
I am going to try a spin class tomorrow at lunchtime. I feel like I need to spin classes a week just to keep up at agility.
Still plugging along getting summer put away and preparation for winter.
Hope everybody had a great Thursday!

I wandered around costco today, for a little while. I found this

    su9kkzdiyb44.jpg

They are so good. Usually, when I roast veggies I wind up burning them a little. Lol... Anyways, I don't like sweet potatoe fries, so I was skeptical about sweet potatoe with olive oil & seasonings. I loved them 😋

@micaroo4 thank you for checking the garmin & stridekick thing. I checked and got the same response you did.
I'll check again in a week or two. I wonder if there are any more fitness challenge apps.

    Y'all have a good night.
