Sigh. So with the pixel phone the picture file picker doesn't want to add and upload pictures to MFP 💩

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope Nic isn’t all worn out from her cooking marathon.

The turkey was amazing. My daughters are fighting over who gets to take leftovers home, lol. My alternative bread stuffing was a hard fail, went in the trash. Everything else was delicious.

I had a small scoop each of mashed potatoes and mashed carrot/rutabaga, a small potion of green beans, 2 stuffed mushrooms and 2oz of white meat turkey, gravy over the meat and mashes. I had also dished up 2oz of dark meat, but got too full. Saved it for later. No room for ham either.

I may or may not have room for dessert later, lol.

Gotta do that carrot rutabaga thing. I think I spotted some rutabagas tucked into the barely visible corner of the produce section at the grocery store.

Almost bought some yesterday but they looked beaten up with someone manually remediating by taking out the ugly bits 🤯

Diced more of my ham in a couple of green giant veggie/type pouches

I think the sage butter carrot yesterday (plus separate Brussels sprouts) was better actually

But a bit stressed today too so 🤯

Anyway. Did one quinoa/rice/veggies green giant pouch with about 125g of ham too. And the other with green giant potatoes, asparagus and onions and another 125g

There MAY also be some experimenting that includes 600g of frozen fruit, 360g of diced peaches in juice from Greece, 450g of greek yogurt from Canada,180g of 2% milk, drops of sucralose and a ninja creami machine. Wrong time of the year for the creami but definitely has potential as long as space and jet turbine noise levels are ok!!!!🤣 Costco is probably the way to go for that 🤔

Out celebrating several friend’s birthdays today. I had a small salad with sirloin slices and a splash of honey mustard dressing- about 300 calories. And a side of shrimp and lobster chowder 250 calories. There may haves been a small piece of bread with bit of butter. So I’m guessing about +-700 calories total. Twas tasty!

Yesterday was spaghetti squash with marinara and some Parmesan cheese. Side salad - 🥗 cause you need bunnies.

There was some cookie baking. Most but not all are in the freezer for future distribution. Two down and two more recipes to go. Hubby and son will help with baking and gifting if I’m incapacitated. I’ll find out this week when and how extensive surgery will be.

Tonight it’s roast pork stew with sundry veggies and potatoes. Hearty!

I was feeling nostalgic, so I made turkey a la king from leftovers. Thank goodness it's actually delicious and wasn't just a nostalgia dish that ended up tasting bad and wasting good leftover turkey, lol

A la king was always a favorite. Still trying to figure out the creamie! Definitely more appropriate for Texas! Might also help if I used a recipe! It does work. But not sure so far that fit this microwave boy it's worth the effort

While glad to see all the smart planning on Yooly's part I'm sure that everyone in Texas will be more than happy to make do with store bought cookies.... as long as their main cookie gets rid of all misbehaving and unwanted cells that have taken up temporary residence! Eviction letters have been posted!!!

Have got cauliflower and spinach bunnies nuked. Thinking of egg white and spinach something... and the cauliflower in some sort of soup. But open to suggestions. Especially if I can use both at the same time! Cauliflower is riced. Spinach was nuggets!🤷‍♂️

I don’t think spinach comes in nuggets! It’s probably frozen chopped spinach? Maybe mix spinach (thawed & drained) with the cauliflower rice, add some protein and seasoning. Or turn the whole thing into a soup with chicken stock, onion, garlic.

Drained the spinach juice into the cauliflower and turned it into a soup. But wasn't too excited about it. So turning the whole thing into mashed potatoes with veggies using an instant mash pouch!!!!!😝

Spinach nuggets were AWESOME! Mixed two 300g pouches of ready to eat Indian food to the spinach and it nicely meshed together making the Indian pouches more bunny-full (veggie rich for normal speak people) and reducing the heat and butte/oil level by spreading it better! Also very good as a prune substitute.... based on my day 1 experience! Have enough left for day 2 research!!!!🤣

(Spinach nuggets are.mini sized frozen spinach nests)

Wow - spinach DOES come in nuggets! I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that in the US. We’ve got the usual chopped, leaf, canned, fresh varieties. No nuggets.

However I will check it out on my next visit to specialty markets. Who knew?

So PAV - which kind did you have? plain? ns039t20uln9.jpeg

    Or the breaded variety?

Plain!😎 Just like in your picture. But it was just "cuter" than nests. I suppose I could have air fried the nuggets!

The way I used it, it wouldn't have mattered what kind I bought. Basically nuked it, drained it and mixed it with ready to eat indian food pouches.

It wasn't a planned purchase.... you know what's coming.... it just happened to be on close out (50%) so I grabbed the last two 🤷‍♂️

Making a big pot of cabbage soup today. Because it’s rainy and actually won’t get above 50 degrees. Woohoo 🥳.

Love your bargain shopping adventures PAV! My hubby might have a Canadian son? BTY the Texas son is also a bargain shopper. Just me who will pay anything to get out of the store faster.

spinach not a bad bargain problem at 50% off! Four Oh Henry at $0.99 each plus an extra $1 kick back when you buy four (so pre-covid price point achieved in local dollars after rebate).... that's a "bigger" problem! :hushed:

Yum, fruit loops. I wish. I still have to be super intentional with my food choices, with my protein requirements and calories available, as I want to lose a final 9-14lbs. I did sneak in 2 little Andes chocolates, because someone put out bowls of candy at work, for the holidays. Thankfully, most of it is Hershey's kisses *gags*

Sorry I've been so absent. I've been thinking of you all!

Supper today will be a takeout veggie burger. It is my ex partner's mother's 80th birthday. I was trying to wrangle her kids into a little get together - and into sharing the cost of a cake/pizza-delivery boy stripogram (light :) - nothing hard core or nasty ) but no go. No one is going to make it to visit her today. :( So I'm going and will bring Harvey's for supper and a couple of strawberry shortcake cupcakes that I picked up last night (major accomplishment not eating them between then and now).

This woman is an absolute hoot - she would have loved "Miguel" - alas it would be a bit weird if it was only the two of us - and a bit expensive. Will have to do it another time.

I've been trying to "normalize" my eating - without going to extremes. My usual battle. At this time my deal with myself is yes - I can have a treat (specifically toast with marmalade :) ) - BUT - I have to eat a real meal first.

So far so good. Lots of bad habits have crept in. Want to chase them away without any backlash.

    I haven't thought of Harvey's in ages!

It's a fast food burger place Yooly, and st least when I was a kid it was great. Fresher and tastier.

Mmmm.... Harvey's. Used to have a couple attached to Home Depot stores but I haven't seen one in a while. Weren't bad at all. "made to order" fast food burgers with choices of toppings. Happy birthdaying Laurie!!! And leave the poor strip=o=gram kid alone!

errr.... "food": Cauli-rice and spinach and some 50g rice and all the sauce from a frozen chicken masala dinner ("blue" menu/370 Cal per box of which half are from the rice)... plus the secret ingredient... a ~300 Cal pouch of Bindi masala mixed in -- Connie would have been impressed!!!! fsuw64t0e8wn.png **SEE NOT QUITE AS SCARY AS IT SOUNDS!**

    "Work food":
Leftover flank steak (cold, it was so good)
